Guest Reviews
- Louise (10/5): - Everything about this place was perfect! Fully self contained and full of luxury and comfort. Close to everything in Bicheno and surrounds, but absolutely perfect for just kicking back with a book too. Loved it and will definitely be back! N/A
- Matías (10/5): - Hermoso lugar! Muy injusto tener que volver a mi casa luego de pasar unos dias aquí.
- Jill (7/5): - Spice cupboard the automatic light over pantry temperature in house view from bedroom upstairs book collection Took some research to access the beach.
Fittings and some items need maintenance ie toilet roll holder bathroom drawers & basin fittings more likes than dislikes but you’d expect that with the price. Watch out for the nasty toe stubbing riser into kitchen.
- Jason (10/5): -
- Paige (8/5): - The only downside was the roaster next door who liked to make a noise at all times of the day and night.
- Amber (10/5): - Brilliant location. Loved the layout of the house, ocean views, furnishings, and everything thoughtfully included. Incredible.
- Aimee (9/5): -

- Megan (9/5): Home away from Home - Excellent location, nice and quiet. Gorgeous views. Amazing styling and super comfy beds and seating. Uneven flooring
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional - From the moment you walk in the front door, you can feel the love, thought, and effort the owners have put into styling this home. It has everything you need and we didn't want to leave. The kitchen is fully equipped with more than we needed, the couch is super comfy, and so was the upstairs bed in the master bedroom (so cosy). We only stayed for 2 nights but could have easily stayed longer. In the late afternoon, there is wild life including kanagroos and wombats in the backyard and the view from the upstairs bedroom was so nice at sunset (see pic attached with pink sky). The products in the house for cleaning/toiletries are all lovely too. We got great weather and drove up to the bay of fires and had the entire beautiful beach to ourselves, explored the national park, and the Bicheno coastline and local businesses/cafes. The IGA is a decent size and had everything we needed. Nothing!
- Joanne (10/5): Great place to base yourself to explore the East coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - Amazing views, beautifully renovated and the most comfortable bed I’ve possibly ever slept in!
- Riley (10/5): Honestly the nicest place we have stayed!!! - This place was absolutely amazing!! The views of the ocean were incredible and every where you looked there was something special to see, the interior decorating and the feel of the home was beautiful, would recommend this place to everyone!!
- Delia (10/5): Amazing - All! Quiet and in front of the ocean! All was more than perfect. No negative points
- Bonnie (9/5): Comfiest beds - Loved the living area and the cooking supplies provided. Lots of love has gone into the restoration and although a little old in parts, the beach shack has lots of character. Also enjoyed the fire and books provided. There is no beach access within walking distance (25min) and it’s on the freeway so quite noisy (just took some getting use to). The image of the two chairs is a little misleading as it looks like it’s on the beach, the location pin makes it look like it’s on the beach.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (10/5): Amazing - How well everything was thought out. The house has everything you need. Nothing to fault.
- Kay (8/5): Relaxing, peaceful and amazing views from every part of the house. Loved my stay! - It was well decorated and you could tell everything was well thought about with styling. Loved the bathroom and main bedroom, very relaxing and great view. The location was perfect and it was nice to have a dish wash and dryer and washing machine. Alot of the pans we had to wash before we used them… and when we arrived at the property there were heaps of massive flys in the house. I had to run around opening up the windows trying to get them out/ killing them. It wasn’t the greatest first impression seeing the bugs.
- Annelies (10/5): Beautiful place. The extra little touches were amazing. Bed was so confrontational, shampoo, soaps and the meal in the f - Clean, had everything we needed. Location excellent. Cozy and comfortable. Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location and house. Everything you could ask for.
- Paddy (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the property in every respect. It has been beautifully (and tastefully) set up for travellers with all the necessary 'mod cons' needed without losing that luxurious or 'resort type' feel. The large and inviting lounge room with fireplace and large screen TV was fantastic. The kitchen was well appointed. The master bedroom and ensuite was beautifully presented and (given the cold weather) the heated floors of the ensuite was luxurious. We loved the location too - not 'in town' but nearby to shops and local attractions. Probably the only thing is that the property sits on the main road but otherwise nothing of note.
- Robert (10/5): Outstanding home in a wonderful place in Australia. - Home exceeded our expectations and log fire was outstanding during our stay. Elderly folk need to be particularly careful of changing floor levels but once familiar with this there were no problems.
- Roslyn (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved this place. It was like coming home with all the extra little things catered for, kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies, and all the little things you have in a home. DEFINATELY recommend this place. Beautiful! Nothing
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay here. The view is amazing and the house has everything you need. It was so comfortable and nicely decorated.
- Kellie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, well-appointed home. It was closer to the house next to it than the photos shows. Minimum noise heard however.
- Lyn (10/5): A beautiful place to stay. - We marveled at the renovation and decor.. stylish! Enjoyed the patio area and bbq at the rear . The kitchen was well stocked with basics and spacious. Great to get a proper coffee machine. The main bedroom and bathroom were amazing . It’s not easy to walk to the beach. The obvious shortcut is through diamond island resort but the staff there are like security guards and will send you back. 😬 . No shampoos in 2 nd bathroom.
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional - The decor of the place is incredible, you have everything you need to live comfortably as the place is fully equipped! The views are stunning over the sea
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - This house was STUNNING and exceptionally decorated with outstanding attention to detail. We only stayed 2 nights and wish it was a week or more! I am recommending this property EVERYWHERE!! A few REALLY minor things just for feedback:
- knives in knife block were not sharpened
- no extra blankets for bedding (teenage siblings wouldn't sleep in double bed together so one slept on the couch and was cold all night)
- the lighter for candles no longer works and couldn't be charged
- Katie (10/5): This house was cosy, gorgeous and so well thought out. It has everything you need and won’t have to leave! The views are - Everything! It was warm, cosy and so considered. We loved absolutely everything about it and all the places we stayed at after we compared to and wished we were back at Traveller’s Rest! We are using it for inspiration for our home renovations and already looking for an excuse to come back :) the only bad thing is now nowhere is as good as this gorgeous place - thank you for having us! Nothing. We loved everything.
- Di (9/5): Superb - Great decor, comfortable.
Enjoyed firepot and outdoor area.
The plates and accessories were lovely and styling created a relaxed space. Perfect for a getaway😊
