- Adrian (3/5): Poor -
- Peter (7/5): Ok - Ok Ok
- Vagi (1/5): Bad - I want my refund back. My friends and I booked for 3 nights but only slept there 1 night and checked out due to dirty room, bedsheets and pillows torn and dirty, toilets and bathroom dirty and door lock not working properly The whole room, pillows, bedsheets and bathroom dirty and also bed was broken
- Yenrac (1/5): Bad -
- Or (1/5): Bad -
- Andrej (1/5): Infuriating, SCAM. - Nothing. It stunk, rooms weren’t clean - floor wasn’t hoovered, bedding was not cleaned it was full of hair (pubes). Towels were dirty and had stains. Everything. It was disgusting. We had to leave and didn’t receive our money back even though we agreed on it!
- Leonard (5/5): Passable -
- Clément (8/5): Very good - Nice and clean, friendly staff. I had a problem with my booking so they upgraded me (bc no single bed in dorms left) ! So my opinion is maybe not very objective, but this hostel is really nice.
- Maibog (9/5): Superb - The staff was super friendly, and the location is unbeatable close to the bus station and lots of restaurants. The private bathroom felt safe, but there was a slight oder. Someone took my food from the shared kitchen
- Jonathan (6/5): Decent hostel with nice private rooms - Decent location, nice to have a private bathroom in the couples rooms Quite frustrating not having an elevator if you have a lot of backpacks or bags
- Jeaw (10/5): Perfect stay for short term - Loved the location easy to get around, and plenty of food options nearby. The staff was helpful. Private bathroom was a plus, though there was a mild odor. Breakfast selection was impressive
- Yubin (9/5): Recommend still - Great spot for a quick stay. Staff were welcoming, and it’s near supermarkets and eateries. The bathroom had a faint smell. Breakfast was varied and tasty. Some guests were a bit noisy at night.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliver (10/5): Great location and comfy beds! I’d definitely come back. - The breakfast had a good variety, and for some items I couldn’t eat, the staff were very helpful and accommodating
- Leo (10/5): Good and lovely trip - Overall Nothing
- Rain (10/5): Really enjoyed my stay! - Everything was perfect Nothing
- Catalina (7/5): Good - Good location and the staff was super nice The bathrooms were not good, smeally and dirty most of the time
- Sebastian (2/5): Very bad hostel. - The Only good thing was the reception room Bathroom very dirty, the people don’t flush the toilet, the rooms looks like prison, with out windows. In the kitchen the other guest stole my food.
- Ronnie (4/5): Disappointing - Close to transport terminal & good selection of eateries within walking distance. Supermarkets in close proximity.
Affordable for those on a budget.
It's better suited for backpackers who don't mind noisy guests coming & going all hours of the night.
Private bathroom was a good saf option.
Breakfast provided & good selection to choose from.
The manager Cody was lovely & she had good coms.
- Dayanne (7/5): Good -
- Dayanne (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (1/5): It is what it is last minute booking but it did the job - Nothing but for price ok Not clean no towels no toilet paper bathroom filthy and half under construction
- Brenda (1/5): Bad -
- Zacharia (10/5): The heart of backpacking in Sydney - Stayed here for a weekend and made more friends than I can count—plus, the laughs were as contagious as Sydney’s sunshine. The quirky Vietnamese man working at reception added good vibes fire alarm went off for a few minutes because of burnt bacon
- Chantal (10/5): A hostel that’s as vibrant and funny as the city itself! - Who knew budget travel could be this hilarious? I left with epic stories, unexpected friendships, and a heart full of Sydney vibes. The Polish girl Roisin at reception was great guitar in the common area was missing strings
- Brigitte (10/5): Excellent hostel, centrally located - Excellent aircon system no elevator nor room service
- Dyonne (5/5): The location is very good, and we were so happy to have a solo room. But the hygiene could be so much better, the bathro - Locatie Hygiëne
- Maisey (7/5): Nice stay for sleeping but wouldn’t recommend if you plan on making your own food a lot - Close to train station and food Bathrooms could do with a revamp due to mould and not enough maintenance. Kitchen is too small and very dirty, didn’t see any clean cloths and flies around
- Sophie (7/5): Good -
- Fornells (3/5): Poor - The location of the hostel was very good. Firstly, I booked 4 nights with a friend. The day we arrived to do the check in we were told that there was a mistake on their website and that we couldn't stay in the same room. As we asked them to fix the problem, we had to stay in different room for the first night.
Then, the day after one of us had to check out and then check in again into the other room so we could be together.
Secondly, the bathrooms were not clean! The toilets stank a lot! Showers didn't look clean.. sometimes they didn't even have toilet paper.
Thirdly, the rooms have no air-conditioned and no windows so they are very hot and no ventilation
- Sophie (1/5): Horrible - Left early due to horrible conditions and direct complaints have been ignored by the business
- Vano (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional - Location is great as it's right next to the station and only aa 20 minute walk to the opera house. Stayed as I had a concert at the Opera house and everything closer was too expensive. Nice staff and social guests. Someone snoring but it's a hostel so cant expect more.
- Kevin (5/5): Passable -
- Jean (10/5): Lovely staff - The pool table is a game changer Someone took my pizza and swapped it with instant noodles
- Roisin (10/5): Exceptional - Staff are friendly and they host events, Friday was beer pong and it was a good way to meet people and just have some fun. Car broke down so I had to book the cheapest I could find but it was a great stay and made the situation I was in so much better. Nothing really, good transport links and decent facilities
- Jeanine (10/5): The backpacking experience at its fullest - Air conditioning was fantastic Angry Vietnamese man doing maintenance there
- Ben (10/5): Central location and staff was really helpful - High standard breakfast experience Couldn't find the remote of the projector
- Ka (10/5): Comfortable and convenient in decent price. - Great hostel in the heart of Sydney! Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable rooms. A relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to meet other travelers. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Sydney!" It will be great if there is a lift.
- Julie (10/5): Great location and friendly staff - Great location great staff and free brekkie what more can you ask! Someone took my umbrella
- Rosie (10/5): Friendly and social - The staff at check in were super friendly and the breakfast in the morning was better than the usual hostel breakfast you get. They also do social events a few times a week and it was quiz night on Tuesday! Was fun to hang out and get to know people even just for the evening! The stairs lol
- Kevin (10/5): Central, clean, friendly - Big common area with friendly staff Can't find my toothpaste
- Samantha (10/5): Good vibes and cozy lights downstairs - Loved the pool table and activities Massive Christmas Tree
- Arthur (6/5): Pleasant -
- Eduardo (3/5): Poor -
- Bethany (3/5): Poor - Some staff were helpful No air conditioning, was advertised as having air con, toilet and shower facilities were unhygienic and not cleaned regularly
- Lukas (6/5): Pleasant -
- Teale (5/5): No air conditioning - Location No air conditioning
- Seohyeon (3/5): Worst ever . - Nothing Staffs are arrogant and unable to listen customers
Worst hostel in my 3years in Aus.
1. They didn't give my key deposit back even 3weeks later, so I needed to ask again and they even didn't say sorry.
2. They gave me a wrong room, I asked before I checked in, couple of days ago, whether is bottom bunker is available, and they didn't reply properly and gave me a staff's room. But there's no bottom bunker too, and I asked them to give me a proper room for customers then they gave me 6dorms, without refunding extra money for booking 4dorms.
3. Even though I asked them I want to stay on same room, they asked me to move to another room next day, I asked the reason and they told me new customers would be annoyed. But I'm a customer who booked and checked availability before I arrived.
Especially the asian guy staff, he is too rude and not smart enough to manage to manage booking and make customer not confused.
And I finally get my deposit back after 1month!!!!!!
- Kathleen (1/5): They did not return my deposit back. I feel scammed -
- Horn (9/5): Loved my stay here I was super comforted whole time - The staff were super friendly and the place was very clean , it had a proper kitchen with a ice machine and blender which was nice , private toilets and showers on every floor , beds were comfy , overall enjoyed my stay here , common room had good amenities too , I’d definitely recommend for comfort There wasn’t lots of fridge space but the boxes to put your things in worked well!
- Quentin (10/5): Great stay in a central location - Location was great and staff lovely. Free breakfast was a big plus. Rémi At reception is a legend Fridge quickly full
- Shontai (4/5): Disappointing -
- Freehugs (10/5): Exceptional - ^-^ Staffs super nice, Cody n Kenny n others English Woman's Staffs as well, it's small family but hv pool, free Brekkie, near Station,
Etc2 🤗🫰Heriyanto 🌈🌈
- Jessica (7/5): Good - Started with the smashed glass front door, our first impressions weren’t great. The room we booked and the room we got were not the same. There was a cardboard box with someone else’s belongings in the room when we arrived, plus balloons and tissues under the beds. The first night we all struggled to sleep from the noise of the street.
That said, the staff were lovely and we were given a partial refund as a way of apologising for the early inconveniences.
- Daryl (10/5): Wonderful - Lovely staff
- Elise (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mohd (6/5): Pleasant -
- David (1/5): Bad - Could not turn aircon off in rooms
- Doron (1/5): Bad -
- Bengt (3/5): Ok in many ways. - Nice personnel, clean, good breakfast, near communications.
i was suggested an alternative in a privatre room. Arriving I learnt that I was too old for a bed in a rooom for 6. Not fair. Age-racism?
I could have been told earlier at least.
Booking.com could have told me that I will not be charged. The indifference of someone in power position.
- Francisco (1/5): Bad - Nothing The people that works in the hostel took more than a week to give me back the deposit, it was 40 AUD, and each time i want to reclaim it they told me that they didnt have money.
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Very nice staff. (Kenny)
- Penelope (10/5): Easy! - Loved the place, Cody is hilarious. Will be back in 3 weeks! I lost my water bottle :(
- Justin (10/5): Next to the station - This hostel is excellent! It is clean, comfortable, and offers a great breakfast with plenty of options. Cody, the manager, was outstanding friendly, helpful, and always available to assist with anything. My only slight issue was that the rooftop area couldn't be used after 8pm, which was a bit disappointing. However, overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely recommend this place. rooftop should be open longer
- Pokharel (10/5): Exceptional - Trademark Hostel is a great spot in Sydney, but manager Cody is what makes it special. He was super amazing—friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure an incredible stay. Highly recommend!
!
- Chiara (5/5): Passable -
- Raghavendra (5/5): Except for the room assignment mess up, my stay was good - Overall, it met my needs. I just needed a place to stay for the nights, with a reasonable bed and hot shower. Those were fine
Breakfast was very good. Location is also good, right by the Metro station and many food options and supermarkets close by. There was a mess up from the reception on Day 1 in room assignment.
I was assigned and given the key for apparently the wrong room
So, when I was out, all my stuff was packed up and moved out, WITHOUT my presence. And they managed to misplaced my personal towel and moisturizer during this process. It's deeply disconcerting that the hostel staff would handle your personal belongings when you're not present, to correct THEIR mistake
- Basant (5/5): An overall good facility managed by unconcerned and negative staff. - Location. 1) Unhelpful and negative attitude of the reception staff , who believed in passing the buck, 2) Problem posed by the reception staff at the check-in time saying that my booking was cancelled since the property accepted guests up to age of 35 years only, even though payments were made by me prior to check in, 3) No handwash was provided in the two toilets of the 3rd floor and no hand towels were provided in the two toilets and 4 shower rooms of the 3rd floor 4) Common kitchen tap handle was broken, 5)Common kitchen left side all 4 burners were not working, 6) No kitchen cloth was provided in the common kitchen though guests were expected to dry the washed dishes , 7) The main entrance door did not open on 30 December when I returned to the property around 2345 hours because key ring fob did not work and consequently I was forced to sit outside the property on the road side bench for more than 5.5 hours until main entrance door was opened the next morning, 8) One of the reception staff was more interested in entertaining female guests rather than attending to male guests.9) The dormitory room I stayed in had poor ventilation and per force I had go out of the room and sit on the roadside bench and 10) The reception staff did not feel it as their responsibility to address issues pertaining to housekeeping and maintenance and the response was " housekeeping and maintenance personnel will be informed".There was no effort on part of the reception staff to see to it that issues brought to their notice were addressed.
- Luan (2/5): I wouldn’t recommend the hostel for anyone. I had the worst experience at TradeMarket - The bed linens were dirty, the room and hallway had a strong unpleasant odor, and the bathroom was very filthy and disgusting.
- Steve (9/5): Superb - Ideal location, ease of use
- Ilram (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mashrafi (1/5): Bad -
- Vilma (6/5): Good for it's price. - Location was very good, right next to the train station. Breakfast was alright and the beds were comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. All the toilets smelled disgusting and had poop in them.
- Sagar (1/5): Bad -
- Nikorima (7/5): Good - The tall American guy is just amazing and always up for a chat a great personality for the job. Very welcoming and always a pleasure to see when coming back to the hostel. The stairs lol.
- Simon (8/5): Very good - Super cool staff(aiden)
- Latrice (1/5): reconsider a stay here. - good location & the staff is very nice and helpful
free dinners on fridays! it pains me to write this review as the location is top and the staff was very friendly (especially the american receptionist & i think i met the owner or manager) i would rather be treated rudely by staff and have clean facilities than stay in an absolute seedy and filthy hostel. the bathroom always had a permanent smell of mold and human bodily fluids. blood stains on the walls in the hallways. no security since the doors are open and the reception cubicle is down the stairs so there's a bit of a blind spot and anyone can come in. which caused a man who was not a guest following me from outside and walking up the stairs with me. when i told him to leave me alone he became aggressive and was trying to figure out which room i stayed in. i saw many ppl who weren't guests using the showers/bathrooms. the dorm room i stayed in had no window. the kitchen was extremely small with no fridge space. people would charge their e bike battery packs which is a fire hazard and illegal. the kitchen closes at 23h so if you need water or you're diabetic it's impossible. there should at least be a water fountain in the hallways. when i asked a volunteer if i could please get water ( because on my first day the receptionist didn't inform me abt the kitchen hours and i arrived at 21h ) she told me to drink water from the bathroom sink. the WiFi is TERRIBLE. it doesn't work at all. only in the reception area and even then it would cut out half the time. there were times i had to go to hungry jacks for wifi. absolutely no hygiene or cleanliness or social order in this hostel. and 7 flights of stairs to get to the kitchen. i recommend staying in the airport its cleaner and safer.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, especially Ginny, made our stay special. We would come back at any time!
- Thilina (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff Still they didn't return back my key deposit money.
- Brad (8/5): Very good -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean
Staff is very nice
Thank you to Ken lee !
- Sofia (8/5): Great location, friendly staff. - Great location! Affordable and friendly staff. Very hard to find parking nearby (obviously being Kings Cross).
- Javier (10/5): Long - The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Kyle (receptionist) Need more ventilation in the room.
- Agustin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sugyan (1/5): Bad -
- Charlie (1/5): Horrible - when we checked in we went up to the room and there was 2 other people staying in there there was stuff everywhere none of the beds were made and we felt very unwelcome, we went down to the desk and asked for a refund and the desk person gave us a email to message abt a refund, and we haven’t heard anything back
- Thomas (1/5): Disaster - Nothing Unclean, unsafe people, tried to scam money with the key deposit and wouldn’t refund, room cramped ugly and had mold, bed horrible
- Alvaro (6/5): Disappointed - Location, amazing, everything close. The didn’t have kitchen to the host, just for the staff and only staff can used so you can see the difference everyday, no one can cook in the hostel, but you can see the people who work there cooking so that is no fear.
- Mery (4/5): I lost my passport <|3 - The workers Is really unclean
- Michaela (3/5): Awful for mental health, pre-booked request was approved online but refused upon checking in (groun) - There was no way to contact management or phone anyone working at this business. The phones are disconnected or unmanned and staff abused me to get my sheets when they had to change linen companies 3 days Into my stay. The sheets were called filthy (they were clean?) and I was told they would change them from under me if I didn't wake up immediately. Communication, management, backpacker staff behaviour/attitude
- Jeremy (7/5): Damp - the cost and cheapne it felt really cheap, leaky shower with a damp carpet which constituted to a damp smell in the room constantly
staff were non existent before check-in time at 15:00, the "luggage room" was just a open basement to all that anyone could walk into an access
- Mathew (5/5): Passable - Reception staff was helpful No lift
- Kirsten (7/5): Good -
- J (8/5): Very good - Balcony Size of rooms
- Lena (9/5): Superb -
- Shaw (10/5): Exceptional - Night-life, people, food Nothing to not like
- Oktawiusz (1/5): Terrible - Terrible motel, dirty everywhere, reception in the basement, plaster falling off the wall, bad smell. Windows not closing properly, noisy in the room, no furniture in the room, no countertop in the toilets, tiny sink, no elevator. This supposed breakfast is just toast with jam and chocolate, if it hasn't run out and apples, pears and oranges if you get up quickly and there's enough. Coffee (we had to specially ask for it) but there is not always milk. The reception is not open until 7 a.m. It's old in the room because window is not closing properly, no heating. And if you don't wash up the dishes from breakfast you will lose your deposit. I advise against it, it's really not worth it.
