Guest Reviews
- Steven (4/5): - It's was not clean there was no spoons in the room the air con is broken its loud and was getting worse we turned it off .
- Lynette (1/5): We didn’t stay we went and found other accommodation because it was a tiny little house and you couldn’t close the door - Nothing we didn’t stay because it was so horrible Nothing
- Fiona (3/5): -
- Maneevan Rose (6/5): - Too close for the cabin to our neighbors
- Denise (8/5): Cozy & quant! Perfect for our one night! - Quant and cozy, just what we needed for 1 night. The staff were excellent, very attentive to anything we needed and also have great suggestions for things to do.
- Jade (1/5): We didn’t stay as we prefer at least a tap in our accommodation - The website made this property look habitable but in reality it was filthy, tiny and lacking amenities There was actual poo on the door, floor, table, chairs . There was no interior plumbing - not even a sink.
- Vennesy (10/5): -
- João (7/5): - The staff is friendly and can give you good tips of what to do in the region. The cafe is cozy and have wines from the local region. Looking at starts at night is a great experience, specially while seating near the river in front of a fire pit. If you are staying in one of the chalets, you will need to use the facilities communal bathroom. These bathrooms could have a heating system during winter, but unfortunately, they don't have it. The showers need $1 coins to operate and if you don't bring your own fire pit and firewood, they can rent you a fire pit and sell you a bag of firewood at the reception. you will need firelighters and matches and maybe a wood splitter too, or you can buy split firewood at the local supermarket in Stanthorpe.
- Jolene Hill (5/5): It was OK but probably would not stay again - Location was good, Cabins were cute No cutlery in the cabins, no wine glasses and no knife with the cheese box for the bath house. Just missing the finer details
- Kelli (10/5): Staff were great, glamping cabin was very comfy and cosy, great experience. - Location was great, very clean park and nice updated facilities.
- Amrish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): Picturesque setting located close by to most main attractions of the area. - Our cabin was modern and comfortable. And toastie warm given the temperature outside! It was all pretty good.
- Nick (1/5): Horrible! - Nothing. Everything! The chalet is not at all as it seems. I phoned the owner, Amanda, to advise of our disappointment in the room upon arrival and ask if there were any other availabilities. There were not, however, she was rather dismissive, stating the lack of anything in the chalet was self-explanatory, as a 'glamping-style' stay.... it is not. There is no mention of glamping anywhere in the description.
I then sent a text message (the pamphlet says call or SMS with any questions etc and I had already called) to arrange a suitable time to come to the office (which was always closed when we were there) to discuss my displeasure. This is still unresponded.
It states in their in-room brochure that you can inspect the property prior to payment (booking.com is a little different, I get), but I would rather have not stayed here and gone somewhere else, got a chapter motel for example. At least the expectation is there.
The chalets are a tiny timber shack, with an extremely uncomfortable double bed and two pancakes for pillows, with a small area you could perhaps perform a push-up, maybe a star-jump is you're a small person.
There were two coffee pods and two takeaway coffee cups, although for a two night stay, for two people. Recycling? Yes, apparently.
There is no mention that you are required to pay $1 per 4 minutes for hot water if you want a warm shower. Be sure to take a stack of $1 coins if you want a warm shower 😉. One of our towels was also covered in yellow marks?
There are no tissues in the room, nor in the communal bathrooms. In fact, there aren't even any paper towels, so make sure you are prepared! Cleaning products are also described, but I am not sure where to find these?
There were no chairs inside our chalet, although clearly advertised in the images.
The split-system air-conditioning unit (definitely require the heater in winter) sounded like a truck driving past, constantly.
- Tanya (5/5): Has potential but the owners are in desperate need of help, a daily cleaner and restaurant staff would be a great help. - The little cabin itself was perfect, we slept comfortably in a very cozy bed and had enough space for our things. It’s not the kind of place you want to spend time at. It’s fine to use as a base when exploring the area but you have to make sure you get breakfast and dinner elsewhere before settling in for the night. The restaurant hours were not consistent. The facilities were not clean in fact the bathroom had a sign next to a mop saying “clean up after yourself” and no hand drying facilities. The camp kitchen was dirty and the bins were overflowing.
- Penny (8/5): Perfect place for a relaxing escape - Loved the chalet. It was cosy, bed was very comfortable, view was beautiful and the room well stocked. It was inconvenient having to use the amenities block but the room was so cosy and unique that it was a minor thing in the end.
- Nathan (7/5): Good price, nice location, would visit again!! - I liked the location and the fact with so many people there it was quiet. I would have preferred an ensuite, but I understand why there wasn’t.
- Stella (10/5): Great weekend experience! - The chalet was beautiful and comfortable, we had a great night of sleep and rest. The location was also good. Nothing
- Wade (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were so amazing. It was a busy long weekend but they were friendly, fun & made us feel extremely welcome. Will definitely stay here again. Nil.
- Keane (6/5): Pleasant - The surrounding bush and lake Chalet was very tiny, we thought we booked with bathroom facilities
- Renan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (4/5): Disappointing - Toilet area needs attention and you have to pay for the showers
- Tania (8/5): Lovely little spot for a couple of nights😁 - The owners have only been there 12 months and still updating the park so be patient if you stay there and something is under repair.
Bath Haus was great if the water is a little warm for your liking they will tip in a bucket of cold water for you.
A beautiful bottle of wine and cheese platter that was included in the stay for 2 nights and more.
Great cocktails for happy hour, I recommend the strawberry daiquiri.
Would love to see a little broom and dustpan, hanging hooks + extra shelving in the Chalets.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Perfect overnight stay. - It was so cute and gorgeous view. The people were amazing and so helpful, Reception is stunning. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage was cozy.
- Jani (9/5): Loved our cabin experience - The cabin was a beautiful experience. It had everything we needed for comfort and warmth. Everything was fabulous but it would be great to have the cabins at the back of the park for less road noise.
- Tony (8/5): Very good -
- Tasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Candice (3/5): Overpriced, no facilities in chalet, not even a spoon but there’s coffee. $157 is extremely expensive. If you camp you m - The bed was comfy, the text prior to late check in was nice. And the chalet was a cute little thing. 1. The price was extremely high for a room of that size, with no water, no bathroom, not even a spoon to stir our coffee. Coffee machine was dusty and only paper takeaway cups provided for morning coffee.
2. The men’s toilets and showers were absolutely filthy and very smelly. Plus $1 showers is a bit steep when it’s already $157 for a night in a wood box with no facilities.
3. Photos online are deceiving. Everything is a lot smaller than it appears.
4. Power cords running all around chalet on the ground, bad trip hazard.
We would’ve been more comfortable and looked after sleeping in our roof top tent. The chalet is a quarter of the size of our caravan. Luckily we have a stocked camp set up in our Ute, but decided to treat ourselves because our trip is not a fun one unfortunately.
- Nerida (9/5): Superb - Location, facilities, staff Nothing., except more cafe hours would be beneficial for the chalets
- Sharlene (7/5): Last night of our trip, most comfortable bed. - The bed in the "chalet" was probably the most comfortable we had slept in for our whole trip. It was pet friendly It was over priced for what was on offer. It was a cute structure in a caravan park, but given there was no ensuite or running water in the room, it was overpriced.
- Meg (1/5): Never again. Old dirty backpackers only slightly tarted up. - I can see their vision but everything has been done on the cheap. Too close to highway. Very noisy. Cabin extremely small. Updates are less than desirable. Noisy. Too small. Daughter didn’t fit in bunk bed. Left two hours after admission
- Maria (8/5): Ok for overnight stay - Choice of accommodation Noisy because of location
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenda (8/5): We will stay there again. It is a great stop on our way south . - The chalet was just gorgeous. The extra touches made it really special - especially the coffee machine . Thumbs up 👍
- Mel (10/5): Amazing stay, will definitely come again. - Amazing friendly staff who were extremely helpful. The cabin was super cute and in a great location. The park has a very relaxing and calming atmosphere Unfortunately there was a lot of bird poo on the front door of the cabin and on the outdoor furniture. I know it can’t be helped sometimes though
