- Bermuda Girl (9/5): Good Place To Stay In Pezance - Perfect location. Had a very small but very efficient kitchen. Very quiet. Very clean. Safe place to put our bikes. Thank your All was good
- eastham (5/5): Would not recommend - The two flights of stairs the second being dangerous, not recommended for anyone with hip or just walking problems. You would struggle to get up second flight, and dangerous for going down.
The bed was very low and too soft.
The shower completely unsuitable if you are slightly larger than average.
- Ganna (9/5): Great experience - Very good location and beautiful street and building (see pictures in the description). Close to the city center and bus stop to Minack theater, Land's end and coastal walks staring points; 12 min of walk (most of which along the main street with shops) to the railway station; several minutes to a sea promenade. Great value for money. Easy check-in with the code box. All was good.
- Harastasan (9/5): - Location is great
- Richard (9/5): - Friendly welcome. Well equipped micro kitchenette. Quiet location. Used Penzance as our hub for travelling by bus.
- Reesa (6/5): Okish - Location was easy findable. Bathroom door lock wasn’t working. Host hardly knows to speak english, struggled a bit to clear our doubts. Utensils provided weren’t clean, could see previous food remains stuck on each, yuckyy..
- EMILY (6/5): Great stay, location. - Great location for town, lovely room.
- Angela (7/5): We enjoyed our stay in this little attic studio. - It was in a great location, and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay.
The hot water pressure for the shower was wonderful, and the tiny kitchen worked well.
We enjoyed the view looking out over rooftops to the sea. We didn’t get along well with the bed.
The polyester quilt and cover made us both uncomfortably hot.

- Herbert (10/5): Zum Wohlfühlen - Gut eingerichtetes Studio in zentraler
aber auch ruhiger Lage. Durchdachte Raumnutzung, kleine Küche, aber für meine Zwecke voll ausreichend. Keine Infos, was mit dem Abfall geschehen soll.zu

- Unusual Emma (10/5): Great place to stay! - A lovely little spot in a great location. Great facilities (kitchen had kettle, toaster, microwave and hob), including a pleasant communal area to hang out in. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location is superb - a short walk to pretty much everything in Penzance. The Little Nook cafe, practically on the doorstep, does amazing brunch, while Penlee park and house, about the same distance in the opposite direction, do incredible lunch. Staff were pleasant and friendly, available to help but not intrusive.
- Amanda (7/5): Great location, but property looking a bit tired. - Location Poor state of repair and cleanliness. Very steep staircases.
- Patrick (7/5): Sicherlich ein typisch englischer Standard aber für uns hätte es gerne etwas mehr Luxus sein können - Inhaberfamilie Sehr eng, Treppenaufstieg mit Koffern eine Herausforderung
- Kathryn (9/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): Deluxe Studio - Lovely@ - A lovely little studio apartment which was clean and well equipped. Nong was very friendly and helpful.
- Langejans (8/5): Nostalgische locatie Engelse cultuur ervaren - Gastvrijheid en de service Geen bijzonderheden heerlijk Engels
- Stephen (8/5): Comfortable. Easy location for town and Scillonian. - n/a.
- Lorraine (8/5): Good location, lovely host. - Location was great and the apartment was tastefully set out and decorated. The bed and shower were very appreciated.
Nong was lovely and very helpful when we spilt a cup of tea over the bed - thankyou. Ours was on the top floor (two sets of stairs, one narrower and steeper than the other. The space was used to its potential, some quirky little corners, but the main issue for me at 6ft 4" were the diagonal beams and slopping ceiling in the kitchen, Quite challenging for my head, especially when yo don't expect it.
Parking on the street was a real issue.
- Paula (10/5): Absolutely AWESOME - It was so awesome and loved the decor x So very clean and accommodating. Owner was very friendly and made us feel at home xx
- Maple (2/5): - The accomodation was clean overall. The host was not welcoming, we were pointed to our room. . The picture shown in the publicity is not the room I was given , older style bed too low. There were no instructions on how to use the hob. I phoned the host he initially said it was in the kitchen, turned out this was for the microwave,When I called back it was an answermachine. My husband then left a message informing him he was diabetic so we needed a response!
He eventually came after 8pm and immediately said "its a bit late to be cooking, and he didnt work after 8pm I said if he left instructions I wouldnt have to call, and there is no written rule about when to cook!! .
He then went on to say how easy it was to turn on the hob.. which did come on after a few clicks... (it did not stay however, I later found a video on line to find out how to do this!)
I was shocked that this reasonable request was met with such an outrageous and rude response. I told the host that he was v rude and he said that I was rude for not understanding he was no longer on shift!
I said he was in clearly in the wrong job,
- Clare (4/5): Perfect Location But our flat was very dirty and we had to clean and hoover it! - The Location was perfect. Walking distance to the centre of Penzance, the shops, pubs, cafes, also walking distance to the Prom. The studio flat we stayed in was well equipped. Good Pillows and duvet and clean linen. Sadly Our room, studio flat, was NOT clean at all, I had to go out and buy some cleaning products and I had to ask to use their hoover. I don't think the floor had been hoovered properly for a long time, there was thick clumps of hair all over the floor. We had to clean the kitchen sink and some cutlery as not clean. the bathroom was NOT clean including the floor and towel rail, thick dust. The bathroom light and extractor fan stopped working which we also reported straight away and was told to use the mirror light but that only had one out of the 2 bulbs working and no extractor fan. The throw on the bed was dirty too.
- Mceyeson (10/5): Comfy Accommodation - Nice comfortable accommodation with good facilities. It could have been a bit more cleaner and the room was a bit cold.
- Staffan (8/5): -
- Soumya Sankar (8/5): -
- Wai (9/5): A very pleasant stay. Will book again if I come to Penzance - Good location with short walking distance to train station and promenade. Cooking station is reasonably equipped. Biscuits on bed is a nice touch. Court yard is lovely. Owners Eddie and Nong are very friendly. Finally it offers superb value Wear and tear are seen but considering the price, it is not important. Can provide more comfortable pillows
- Lawrie (7/5): -
- Heidi (9/5): Very pleasant stay, central location and very comfortable bed - Central and self contained Tv was too small and couldn’t see it from bed
- Ian (9/5): -
- Dr (9/5): -
- Janet (8/5): A comfortable spacious apartment quirky with good facilities and wifi - no breakfast a security light outside was on all night. host was unnecessarily grumpy. Didnt get hot water in the kitchen to work
- Alberto (5/5): Apartment not suitable for Family - The host was very friendly and helpful – definitely the best part of our stay. The apartment itself, however, was much too small for three people. It might work for one or two, but with three you quickly learn the true meaning of “close quarters.” The wardrobe offered only a handful of hangers and no shelves, so most of our clothes enjoyed their holiday on the sofas.
The “kitchen” was more of a storage closet with a sink, a mini fridge, and a single hot plate. Only one person could fit inside at a time – which made cooking feel less like a shared activity and more like taking turns in a phone booth. There was a desk but no dining table, so we ended up balancing plates on chairs. Not the dining experience we had in mind, but creative at least.
Cleanliness was acceptable, though nothing remarkable. The biggest issue was the misleading photos on Booking: wide-angle shots made the apartment look much bigger than it is, and some pictures of kitchens clearly belonged to other units. Discovering that our “kitchen” was actually a cupboard was not the kind of surprise we were hoping for.
- Jun (10/5): 美好 - 住宿位置太方便了。我们预订的有小厨房的房间,一切完美。房东热情。装饰古朴

- David (7/5): A good location for a short seaside break. - Very good location near the seafront and pubs/restaurants and takeaways (fish & chips). Also good location for Penlee House and town centre. Kitchen was well equipped for a short stay. The furnishings were appropriate for an old style apartment. Accommodation was a bit difficult to find as it still went under its old name Estoril Hotel. The bathroom, kitchen and WC were quite compact (difficult to fit in anything bigger in a one room apartment). I found the accommodation fairly expensive. However, prices in Penzance were generally very high and I was pleased to find anything affordable.
- Mykola (8/5): - Breakfast was not included which I thought should have been for that cost. Location was great not too noisy from traffic, and close to town centre, especially nice was the nearby superb Morrab Gardens.
- David (10/5): - Location was great, close to the shore and the town, not too far from the station. Large room, well fitted out Bed was a bit soft for my liking but that is obviously personal preference rather than a fault of the venue
- Valerie (10/5): Very pleasant stay - Very spacious great location quiet comfortable beds little kitchen with tea and coffee provided nice hosts
- Liz (10/5): Super stay, highly recommend - Really characterful, clean, comfortable room and kitchen in a cubby hole! Nothing
- Lam (6/5): - Didn't come and clean up the rubbish bin, as we have kitchen and did cook everyday.
- Andrzej (8/5): -
- Nelia (9/5): -
- Kneil (3/5): Poor -
- Paul (10/5): Looking forward to staying again. - Great location, very comfortable and had everything we needed.
- Sands (5/5): The room served its purpose for me but was disappointing given the price paid. - The location
Having a microwave and dishes
The wifi was strong
Plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower
Dam carried my bag up to the room The map they send you puts you at A solicitor’s place up the road. No one I asked knew where Penzance Studios was. Even taxi drivers had never heard of it. It’s actually called The Estoril Hotel and is further down the road from the map reference given. Took me 20 minutes to realise this and I was beginning to think I had booked a scam hotel. This was very unsettling after a long day of travelling at 5.30pm.
Check in was appalling. The PIN number for the lockbox was incorrect. They don’t answer the phone listed on booking. They don’t answer the locked door. There was a list of people to ring near the door. One number was incorrect and the one that answered didn’t even know he was on the list.
The narrow steep stairs
The room wasn’t serviced for 5 days
The room would have been totally inadequate for two people.
The mattress and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable
Decor looked like a cheap bordello
Tikes throughout the bathroom are cracked.
If you can’t find parking on the street (virtually impossible) then paid parking is up the road, round the corner, etc. in other words a mile away
- Beata (10/5): It was perfect for me and my 8 years old. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet and also had a kitchenette. We left the - It was spacious, clean and quiet. Shower.
- Raymond (8/5): Very good -
- Denise (8/5): Good location ideal for 2 night stay - Location great.
- Roel (8/5): Friendly place near the beach - Nice location. Small but complete kitchen . Fridge not cooling very well. When you have a lot of luggage a room on floor 3 is a challenge with steep and narrow atairs
- Libra (7/5): Compact studio - My studio was at the top of the house so plenty of stairs. The small kitchen was effectively in a cupboard and up a step, compact and had everything I needed, but a bit awkward. The bathroom was dated, as was the whole apartment. It did serve the purpose, but felt like it needed some money spending to bring up to more modern standard. Needs updating, felt rather old & tired
- Alan (6/5): A cosy residence in a good location. - The location is close to a supermarket, the town centre, the coast and a bus stop. The road is very quiet. The house is very cosy and the hosts keep the front garden in great shape! The bed was too short for me (6' /185 cm) and as it had a footboard I couldn't stretch out.
Mould around the bathroom basin taps.
- Yining (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (7/5): Good -
- Helen (7/5): Good - Great location, close to town and sea
- Veronique (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Very peaceful and close to beach, cafes, and two parks. Train and bus stations not far so easy to move around if you don't have a car.
Bedroom was great, comfy bed and the small kitchen is definitely a bonus.
Very pleasant stay.
- Alan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gareth (9/5): Fabulous little studio - Clean tidy, quiet, well equipped for light cooking and snacks. Was fine for me, but older or those with walking difficulties will find the final set of stairs 'tricky' as very steep and confined. However, this was made very clear when booking, and is no issue for anyone normally able.
- Johnson (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff, great location, quirky building. Towels weren't changed often enough, don't think anyone came into the room during the 3 days we were there.
- Alan (9/5): Superb - Nice comfortable place to stay. Kitchen was good to use. Handy to town and waterfront.
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - There was a bohemian feel to the studios, and colourful accessories. The self-catering facilities were excellent. The hosts were friendly. There were a sitting room and a table chairs outside. The bed was comfortable and the location was quiet. It was within walking distance of the train and bus stations as well as the waterfront promenade. Nothing, it was an ideal stay for us.
- Michael (5/5): Passable - The property is close to the town centre The term studio is misleading. It’s converted hotel room with a sink in a cupboard. The whole room is dated. The pillows are old and uncomfortable. The staff were very inflexible around check out, not even permitting an extra 30 minutes.
- Joan (7/5): Good for the price - It was self- catering and not too far from beach and gardens. It would have been useful to have instructions on using the cooking rings and being short I had trouble reaching the microwave to get out hot food
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (9/5): lovely stay - perfect location and a decent sized room, great value for money. strange kichenette
- Ena (7/5): Centrally located with grocery store nearby - No breakfast served The stairs were steep but it was noted when we booked. No table in kitchen
- James (3/5): Poor -
- Laureline (9/5): Excellent value for money for couples who want a compromise between comfort , decent price, great location - The bed was super comfortable,
The location was perfect, 5-10min from all coffee shops and restaurants,
The apartment is good value for money,
It is on top floor, the stairs are sharp if you have big luggage, but then the quietness and the view worth it ! The light in the morning as there is not dark curtains.
- Bharghavi (8/5): Really nice stay, close to the beach and very memorable. - Location was really good, close to the bus and train stations, beach, and amenities. Room was also cozy, comfortable and had all the required facilities. Check-in and check-out time could have been more flexible as offered by most of the other places.
- Nataliia (9/5): Superb - Amazing location, absolutely nice place, calm, quiet, close to sea and Lidl. Not far from station. Nice garden.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (1/5): An awful room and accomodation. - There’s was nothing that we liked The room was not as described on the property advert/photographs. It was NOT A ROOM WITH A SEPARATE BEDROOM as we had supposedly upgraded to. It was certainly NOT A DELUXE APARTMENT, everything was extremely grubby, dirty and looked very old / antique, the curtains were hanging off the curtain rail, the walls were peeling in what was described as a dining area, and the floor underneath the main window was covered in dust and flaky paint. The room contained an old antique bed and a single bed near the window , the bath/shower room was extremely tight and small, as was the toilet area, both small rooms had tiles which had obviously just been painted over with cheap tile paint. We never got clean towels all week except for those left in the room on arrival, no tea towels in the kitchen area only J cloths. No one seemed to be available to rectify matters except we did complain to the host the first day, she just blamed booking.com for the situation. We never saw her again, even our telephone calls were not answered . All in all, a really bad experience, not worth the money even for the upgrade, would not give it any stars if we could.
- Paul (7/5): It was good. - Location was good. Room was comfortable & clean.
- Joe (2/5): Basically poor - Could do with a bathroom refurbished
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - Large airy room with ensuite loo and ensuite bath/shower. Plus well equiped kitchenette. Bed was comfy.
Room was warm and about 5 mins walk into town or to the harbour/lido Hot water took a long time to come to shower but it did in the end and was hot. Only one key which you could leave in the lock box but it meant you have to come and go together or come down and let each other in.
- Anthony (10/5): If you get the chance, do stay at this place. - All wonderful. Easy to access; no hassle. Very efficient. Nothing I didn't like about the place - all good!
- Hugh (5/5): Shabby, without the Chic !!! - central location and inexpensive To start with it is the Estoril private hotel - or that is what it says on the wall outside, the plug sockets didnt work in the room - we called Eddie and he came up to the room and told us that he thought he had fixed the problem the previous week - clearly he hadn't. We had an extension lead under the door to provide electricity to the room sockets!!! Parking was available - although limited. Location was good about 5 mins walk to the town centre. Price was cheap but you get what you pay for!!
- Van (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronald (7/5): Good -
- Stephens (8/5): Very good - Close to catching the ferry to the Isles of Scilly
- Cindy (7/5): Enjoyable in spite of misleading info - The rooms were roomy, with character There was some misleading information -like the word”separate bedroom” when it is all one room, and listing “beach” as an amenity or saying “Seaside” when it is several blocks to any water. The “sea view” is a small patch of sea seen amongst the roof tops of neighboring properties.
Rooms were on second and way up on third dormer level with no lift. In one room “kitchenette” was actually installed in a small closet! We blew a fuse when we tried to turn on the stove.
- Akif (8/5): Very good - Overall good .. close to the seaside and bus stops for lands end cruiser. Price was reasonable Couldn’t use the the electric stove to boil eggs in the morning. Asked staff how it works and I was told they are busy working ..
- Tushar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sofiia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (9/5): Great stay in quiet, comfortable room. Would stay here again, - Great location, clean, quiet, comfortable bed. N/a
- Mamta (7/5): Good -
- Zobida (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anthony (7/5): It was okay - It was quite and comfortable The staircase to the 3rd floor is extremely steep for older people.
The sea view is virtually non existent.
- Michèle (5/5): Passable - Beautiful setting, entrance and garden, in a nice area. Lovely building too. I couldn't find the place! Not signposted.
Room very basic. Bathroom needs updating.
- Emanuela (8/5): Very good -
- Jayne (8/5): Very good - Convenience for town & beach
- Annette (9/5): Beautiful place, great location - The bed was VERY comfortable! Room was nice and well equipped, location great. Beautiful garden I was confused about when I arrived and saw the name Estoril hotel, since it was not given in my booking information.
- Edward (6/5): Pleasant - The location was great. Rustic shouldn't mean old and outdated. The rooms aren't quaint... they are woefully out of date.
- Angela (7/5): Homely and comfortable accommodation in a reasonably central area of Penzance. - It was in a convenient location. The hostess was warm and welcoming. The small garden was beautiful, full of sweet smelling flowers and colourful plants. The apartment was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. We were staying in the top floor seaview apartment and found the kitchen ceiling very low, as was the staircase beam. This could be a problem for taller clients, as we were.
- Janet (8/5): Very good -
- James (9/5): Superb - Everything was clean and tidy, bedding and towels were fresh. Beautiful location. I had my oldest 2 children with me, not the problem of the owners and I had to come home
