Guest Reviews
- Natalie (10/5): Lovely little cottage in the centre of Richmond, but tucked enough out of the way to be peaceful. Everyone in the local - Beautiful, cosy little cottage in the centre of Richmond. The bed was super comfy.
- Shireen (10/5): - It was perfect for our stay. Just what we needed. Nothing
- vicki (10/5): Lovely, comfortable stay.Thank you so much, I had a wonderful time - I tried to book again for next weekend - unsurprisi - Great location, BEAUTIFUL interiors - and I’m fussy!
Spacious, comfortable, home from home vibe. Loved all the wall art and I’m obsessed with the plant pots 🤣 Nothing I didn’t like.
- clare (9/5): Excellent Location - The location is perfect for Richmond market square, Neil was very prompt with instructions and also the property was immaculate. Only small issue we had which isn't any reflection on our excellent stay was the noise from the pub and people chatting loudly at 4am outside from the pub cottage next door. Would highly recommend other than this it's a lovely cosy cottage.
- Julie (7/5): Great location. Comfortable and lovely decor. - Great location. Lovely decor. Spacious enough for 2 people. Very comfortable. A bit chilly downstairs and took a while to warm up.
The cleanliness wasn’t great, especially in the bathroom and bedroom. Felt like it had been rushed.
No tea towels in the kitchen and could have done with extra toilet rolls.
- David (9/5): Great stay - Property was in a great central location. The house was great with everything you needed Was cold when we arrived to a little while to warm up
- steven (8/5): On the whole very nice place - Excellent cottage nice quaint very cosy Load music from pub next door on Saturday night till midnight . Didn’t like the 4pm check in . Too late for us .
- Alla (8/5): Overall nice place to stay nice and cozy ! - Cozy
Comfortable bed
Good location Need little more attention to cleanliness
(Bath , shower, floor in the bathroom, bedding )
Front door feels unsecured.
- Gary (3/5): Owner needs to sort things out - Location is good No welcome pack, no parking disc, no underfloor heating, key didn’t work and we got locked in, scolding hot water, very cold
- Diane (10/5): Amazing cottage in a great location - Great little property in an ideal location. There is everything you need, bed is really comfortable and underfloor heating in bathroom was an extra touch. As others have said it was cold downstairs when we arrived but that was only minor There was a bit of noise from the pub but it wasn’t late and didn’t spoil our stay
- Trisha (9/5): Great comfort cottage provided by great hosts - Comfortable, home from home, great location, easy access N/A - Everything was great
- Mark Brady 74 (10/5): A perfect relaxing stay in a lovely home. - The house was tucked away just a stones throw feom the market square . Quiet and perfect. Nothing
- Helen (9/5): Stunning Cottage - My partner, our dog and I stayed here over Christmas.
This cottage is stunning! So many beautiful details in the cottage. The bathroom is gorgeous with under floor heating. The bed is really comfortable. There is everything you could possibly need in the cottage. The cottage is situated down a little alleyway behind Marketplace, so it is nice and quiet but still central. This was our first visit to Richmond and we fell in love. We would recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone! There was nothing we didn't like. The only thing that would have made it a bit better would have been if the cottage would have been warm when we arrived. It was very cold and it took quite a while to warm up once we switched the heating on.
- margaret (7/5): Enjoyed our stay.thank you - Loved the bathroom and the lovely deep bath. All the other rooms clean and tidy. Was very cold at times. But the weather hasn’t been great so think that contributed to it.
- rickie (6/5): I can imagine in the warmer months it would be a totally different experience regarding keeping warm. The noise from the - Very nice cottage , nice furnishings . On arrival the place was freezing as no heating had been left on prior .
It took hours for it to warm up with the electric heaters and electric fire , kitchen was freezing .
The bedroom and bed was that cold we both slept in our clothes to keep warm .Noise from the nearby castle inn kept us awake until they shut the music off at midnight on the Saturday.
Once the heating was left on the place became much more pleasurable to be in .
- Martin (10/5): - Great location, just off the Market Square. Very clean and comfortable, with everything you could ask for and more. Nothing.
- Jane (8/5): Ideal bijou cottage for our short stay in Richmond - relaxed & recharged the batteries! - Location fantastic & comfortable cosy very clean cottage - bath amazing!! Lovely sitting room for chilling out on an evening. Down a lane which felt at times insecure when entering on own as a female. With it being a compact period property the eaves were low & therefore we had a few bumped heads! However these were not major issues & did not affect our short break away 🤗
- Amanda (10/5): Perfect for a romantic getaway. -
- Susanne (9/5): Cosy house - Lovely cosy property right in the centre of Richmond. Very clean. Nothing
- Trisha (10/5): - Beautiful, private, clean & extremely comfortable
- Wayne (7/5): -
- Kevin (9/5): Very nice cottage in my view with a couple of small tweaks it would have been a 10 out of 10 - Well presented and Great location. My only gripe is that toilet roll should be provided and would have been nice to have more than 1 bath towel each for a 4 night stay.
- Guy (8/5): - The decor all round, especially the bathroom. The entrance way and lack of natural light. it was down a rather dingy passageway.
- Linda (8/5): Very enjoyable - Location was great It could hav done with downstairs loo and wee garden for dog but it was still great
- Ellie (9/5): Fabulous would love to come back again thank you - The stay was fabulous very clean and loved the bath! The only thing I would say is the lock on the main door doesn’t work properly
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Jules (9/5): - Lovely cottage centrally placed just off the market square. Well furnished and equipped.
Helpful host. All parking nearby was with a disc and only for Two hours between 8am and 6pm.(No restriction overnight).
- Leanne (10/5): -
- Doug (9/5): A very well presented and comfortable house. - Well located just off the market place in this lovely town.
The house is exceptionally well presented, in terms of its facilities and decoration. It is immaculately clean.
Dogs are welcomed here but without compromise to the presentation of the space. Quality of materials and decoration makes this work. Care has to be taken over parking rules in Richmond. The policies are a bit chaotic and not very welcoming for visitors.
- Beverley (8/5): Fabulous weekend stay - Gorgeous little cottage, equipped with everything you need. Perfect location to explore Richmond and everything within walking distance The only thing that could of made this better is a little garden or courtyard for the dog
- Diana (9/5): - Mooie cottage op een mooie locatie in Richmond. Echt aan te raden. Parkeren was wel een dingetje. Op het marktplein mocht je met een parkeerschijf maar 2 uur parkeren. Even goed in de gaten houden.
- Jonathan (9/5): Excellent good value for money would give back - Location was great very nice cottage
Very well appointed everything
The town was lovely everything you needed was close at hand Bed was a bit soft for our liking
Place was a bid smelly of damp dog
But it went away very quickly
- Donna (8/5): Very good -
- Oliver (7/5): Good - Clean, very well decorated.
Welcomed pets
Comfy bedroom
Cosy
Central location Quite poor communication
Told during check in to mae sure the heaters were turned off. Contacted again half way through stay worrying about his heaters being turned off.
Loud music from local pubs (not their fault, but just to note)
- Cullen (9/5): Lovely place in thr heart or Richmond - Great little cottage in a perfect location for exploring Richmond. Nothing
- Holly (1/5): Bad - Paid for the property, arrived at check in time of 5pm, hadn’t been sent a code to access the property, owners phone went straight to voicemail multiple times. Booking.con also couldn’t get hold of them 4 hours later. Had to pay for another property; really poor from the hosts and completely unacceptable
- Hayley (10/5): Would definitely stay again, lovely cottage - Exactly like the pictures, everything you need and very cosy and comfortable. Great bathroom and shower, easy walking distance to everything in the town. Loved everything, the only thing I think could improve it is a washing machine.
- Barrie (9/5): Perfect location to access the locality. easy parking nearby. Perfect for couples. - The location is excellent. The property is very nice and comfortable with everything you need to relax and cook etc. As the property is dog friendly, it does have a noticeable dog odour and despite the accommodation being very clean, dog hairs did get on my wife's cardigan from coming into contact with the carpet. This didn't detract from our stay though and is only a minor issue.
- Eacott (10/5): Exceptional - Quality decor and artistic arrangements very well designed and modern. Everything very clean. Pity the alleyway was so uninviting but guess host can't do much about it as public. What about window box or similar?
- Fiona (7/5): We loved it but slept badly which overshadowed our stay. - Gorgeous little cottage, spec’d to a very high standard, cozy, super convenient for all things Richmond based. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable, poor quality mattress & very squeaky wooden bed.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Perfect little cottage - Perfect little place with great spec, gorgeous roll top bath, handy location. Nothing not to like
- Elizabeth (2/5): We certainly would not go back or recommend it to anyone! - The location It was very dark and freezing cold- even in hot weather . No natural light gets in. Terribly basic- half a toilet roll and no milk! Powdered coffee despite a Nespresso machine- very mean!
Problems with cleaning so we slept in dirty sheets and got clean towels 24 hours after we arrived.
- Ian (8/5): The overall experience was great I would recommend it I think we just had a hiccup on this occasion - The location it was bright and well put together There were no clean towels, the dishes were still on the draining board, and looked like it had not been cleaned as there was food still in the bins and the bed sheets didn’t look as they’ve not been changed but contacted the owner and he sorted the towels for the day after,
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Felicity (9/5): Clean & comfortable property in a central location with very good amenities. - Clean, comfortable property. Beautiful furnishings & well equipped amenities.
- Katrine (8/5): Lovely little cottage in the heart of the town - Easy to find, with a car park just a few steps away that you can stay for 2 hours for free. We found the Nuns car park to be the easiest to use which was only 5 minutes walk and not steep!
The cottage is beautifully appointed with everything you could need. Lovely big bathroom with bath & separate shower.
Only a couple of negatives for us, the dripping kitchen tap was mentioned months ago in a review but is still going strong. Also the mattress, lovely and soft which is great for one person but not two - every twitch or turn woke the other one up so in all we didn’t sleep well at all.
We would definitely come back if the mattress was changed though.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place stay, comfortable and homely, great location in a lovely town. Dog friendly which was brilliant! Many thanks.
- Georgia (9/5): Superb - Great location, lovely apartment that is dog friendly and safe for solo travellers.
Host was easily accessible and any problems reported were fixed efficiently.
- Lindsay (8/5): Central location, perfect for couples. - Central location, lovely property Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): We was very comparable and location was great. We would love to stay again. - The was cosy and very well located
- Jane (8/5): 8/10 only due to feeling cold otherwise would be 10/10 - Great location, smart furnishings, well equipped, comfortable bed, amazing bathroom. Flowers were a lovely welcome. Very cold even with using gas fire in lounge. Dripping/running tap in kitchen was irritating.
- Evie (10/5): we loved the cottage it was cosy, modern, very clean & perfect location - we loved the cottage it was cosy, modern, very clean, perfect location, pet friendly & great facilities
- Kevin (9/5): Really enjoyed the stay, shame we couldn't stay longer. - The cottage was lovely in a very quirky location. Richmond is a very tranquil and must be visited. The house was kitted out very well. lack of toiletries and no blankets to snuggle in.
- Diane (9/5): Superb -
- Lambie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (9/5): Loved our stay at Nook....were hooked!! - Superb location...just yards from the main market square. Fabulous, tasteful, well appointed interior throughout.....it looked brand new! Plenty of little touches to make your stay as comfy as possible. Nothing of real note....It wasnt the easiest to find (down a narrow guinnel...easily missed by us though!).
- Amykc (9/5): Lovely Cottage - Lovely cottage nothing
- Lynne (9/5): Excellently equipped cottage great central location. Finished to high standard. - Location was excellent in the centre of town. Cottage beautifully furnished, everything provided. Pub at top of alley to cottage, late night drunks causing noise making dogs bark and discarded rubbish in alley. Heated towel rail didn’t work so towels remained wet. Parking pass went out of date two weeks prior to stay. Pillows not comfortable on bed.
- Graham (10/5): Perfect accommodation for a couple. - The cottage was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated and it is in a great location to enjoy the town of Richmond. We would definitely stay in Nook Cottage again. The property is more spacious than it appears in the photos. There was nothing not to like.
- Mike (9/5): Tricky to find but excellent cottage -
- Chloe (9/5): Lovely stay, the cottage is a great location - I used a lock box and was sent the information in advance so check in was super easy
