Guest Reviews
- Derek (10/5): - Fantastic facility set in an amazing landscape.
Clean and beautifully presented. Nothing!
Tak for god overnatning

- Andrew (9/5): Perfect venue for a weekend trip. - Great location. Very comfortable. All good.
- Christine (9/5): A very pleasant and quiet relaxing stay. - Very quiet area off the beaten track. Beautiful views. Spacious lodge. Lovely helpful owners. Cosy and warm. Hot tub with gorgeous views. One bedroom door didn’t stay closed because of a faulty catch. Creaky springs in mattresses. Slippery tiles in wet room with no grab rails or non slip matting. Very small tv.
- Audrey (10/5): -
- Eduardo (9/5): -
- Hunter (9/5): - Very cozy and private, beautiful setting and nice amenities.
- katie (6/5): - Beautiful location and views, well constructed lodge with great space For nearly £200 a night then level of cleanliness was not acceptable. Our bedding has a super strong smell of smoke and we were travelling with a 5 month old baby. Toilet, sink and shower was not clean at all.
- DAVID (9/5): - The rural location is beautiful. The log cabin is very cosy and well equipped for our needs The single mattresses felt quite old and were not very comfortable. It would be good to have somewhere to hang towels.
- Steven (10/5): So lovely, peaceful tranquility. - So beautiful and peaceful location, hosts are lovely and friendly - the place is amazing.
- Mark (8/5): - Lovely place, friendly staff, great hot tub. Site access could be improved, lots of pot holes and steep grade to lodges.
- Karlene (10/5): Relaxing and refreshing - It’s in a beautiful spot and so peaceful and relaxing. Nothing really to dislike
- Amy (10/5): Fantastic! - Everything! We had a lovely stay here on a trip around the Highlands. The Lodge is well equipped, comfortable and in a beautiful area. Communication was great, it was lovely to meet Duncan before we headed off. We wish we could've stayed longer.
- David (10/5): Perfect Valentine's retreat - Absolutely stunning lodge, hot tub was amazing, everything about the stay was sensational. Host left a little Valentine's Day package which was lovely! It snowed that night, and everything looked lovely! Issue with locking the door, there were some guests from other cabins wandering around ours - apparently they couldn't find theirs...after this we attempted to lock the door - for privacy and security purposes - but we could not get the door to lock. Called the owner to see if there was a knack to it, but ultimately we were unable to lock the door. The road in to the property wasn't particularly easy to traverse, it was actually quite precarious - particularly the morning after in the snow - also there weren't very clear signposts that we could see.
- Laura (10/5): -
- Rebekah (10/5): A perfect lodge for a getaway! - Lovely location, very clean, and had everything we needed for a perfect night away with friends. The hot tub was a fun addition. Marcella and Duncan were friendly and very helpful. We found the mattresses on the single beds a bit uncomfortable, but were fine for a night or two.
- Sangaramoorthi (10/5): -
- Richie (10/5): Great communication when needed and I clean lodge with all the amenities needed. - Just how clean and well presented it was. Nothing major but a little covering around the hot wound provide a bit of discreet coverage.
- Steve (10/5): Great stay would highly recommend for a wee treat. - Liked easy access and location
- Susan (6/5): anniversary trip with family - Lovely location, directions from owners were helpful. free WiFi and animals close by were hit with children, huge porch with lots of seating. beds uncomfortable
hot tub jets not working/poor.
bathroom in dire need of upgrading, very dirty
overall not as clean as id expect
- Tom (9/5): acomodation great very quiet would recommend it - n/a
- Currie (9/5): -
- Yvonne (10/5): Cozy, comfortable, and breathtaking- perfect spot - a true slice of heaven - Location was beautiful, very peaceful - in the country side, it was breathtaking spot and we were all tickled pink, we loved the grass on the roof, this was easily one of our favourite places to stay Nothing not to like
- Leckie (8/5): If you want a rest. Go here - The seclusion It was fine
- kim (7/5): Cozy lodge that just fell short. - The lodge was cozy in the living area, it was in a great location, it had a well stocked kitchen. Grest views, comfortable couch and chair. The single beds had very poor mattresses, you could feel the metal from the springs. The main selling point the hot tub was not working properly. We did speak to the owner who knew about this but never let us know until we queried, front door wasn't able to lock. The bathroom had a towel heater that didn't heat which made the bathroom very cold. We were there New Year 2026.
- Nicola (10/5): -
- Lloyd (9/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): Perfect cosy cabin, exceeded our expectations. - Such a beautiful lodge, attention to detail was impeccable. Water and milk in the fridge which wasn’t expected but very much appreciated! We enjoyed a very comfortable and cosy stay. We loved it that much we’ve booked for next Christmas too! Thank you Duncan and Marcella. Couldn’t fault it if I tried!
- Ashley (10/5): -
- Dempsey (10/5): -
- Campbell (10/5): -
- Rollo (10/5): - Everything was lovely nice clean lodges facillites were great
- Heather (6/5): Beautiful log cabin, very well decorated and very cosy. - Beautiful cabin, very cosy and warm. Bathroom had a lot of black mould around the edges of the floor, lots. Bathroom floor had orange bits between tiles. Kettle was very furry inside. Outside solar light didn't work so entered the property in pitch dark. Shower didn't work properly no little pressure and not very warm so couldn't use hot tub. Only used shower once and husband didn't use it at all.
- Katie (9/5): Amazing night away - The remote location. We were lucky enough to have a clear sky and incredible visibility! We seen 2 shooting stars whilst in the hot tub which completed the night. The steep hill initially getting in to the property was pretty muddy and I thought my tires were going to slip however, this isn't really an issue with the property as that is entirely weather dependent!
- Ian (10/5): -
- Elliot (10/5): -
- lorna (8/5): - Once we eventually found the correct road it was a lovely quiet place We was here when it was storm amy and unfortunately we ended up with no power and decided to go home
- coleen (10/5): -
- Puay (8/5): Good and relax stay. - Relax stay with the farm. Host is reachable at any time. A bit difficult to locate the property. Need more lighting.
- Vanessa (10/5): -
- Mona (9/5): -
- Lucy (7/5): It was good location , you can cycle to Blair atholl over footbridge and it worked well for us - Comfortable
Setting
Hot tub
Warm
View Lighting could have been brighter for reading
One of single beds very lumpy
Shower poor stream
Not enough glasses
- Lisa (8/5): Amazing views - The views were amazing and you could park right outside the lodge Basic milk, tea and coffee would have been a nice little extra
Only one jet working in the hot tub
The name of the lodge was written on a sign laying on the floor- would be better higher up so more visible.
- Roy (8/5): Quiet tranquil location - The lodge is in a lovely location We loved the property, we struggled to find it on arrival but the owners were helpful on the phone
- IAN (9/5): I would go back again in future - Quiet location and enjoy feeding pony and goats up field, relaxing. We enjoy staying there The bed mattress a little bit hard and there nothing wrong with the place , just nice and quiet
One of the jet in hot tub not working only one side in working order
- Stefan (9/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): - A very quiet area with good views & relaxing atmosphere. From arrival at the lodge till we left, it felt like home from home. The lodge had everything we needed & the hottub was fabulous to hop into after our walk to & back from Blair Atholl. Nothing
- Benjamin (10/5): Lovely and comfy cabin in beautiful surroundings - Hot tub, peaceful location with lovely surroundings, comfortable. Nothing! If there was a swing and a slide for kids outside somewhere it would make it even more appealing for us, but I can’t fault it at all.
- Stefan (8/5): -
- Jade (10/5): Perfect cosey stay, five star. - Beautiful lodge, beautiful location. The lodge was so cosey and had everything we needed.
After having a very stressful journey (our motorhome broke down) duncan was so friendly and helpful, couldnt have asked for a friendlier host.
Thanks to both duncan and his lovely wife for looking after us.
- Nikolas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philp (9/5): Superb -
- Sophie-mia (10/5): Perfect! - Great location and clean property. Lovely surroundings with the farm animals and the peaceful setting. The hot tub was a bonus. Also met the owners dog which was so friendly and put a smile on all our faces. Nothing
- Isla (7/5): Good - Location, comfy beds, hot tub, slippers were sweet,
Lots of utensils - very useful Front door didn't lock, but knew items would be safe
Shower was difficult to regulate
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, very clean and comfortable. Very peaceful and quiet. Perfect location to explore the area, we went to Laggan mountain bike trails, hot tub was great after a day on the bikes.
- Jakob (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful (though unfortunately far too short) stay at this lovely holiday home at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. The view is absolutely stunning – and enjoying it from the hot tub was a real highlight! There’s a peaceful sheep herd grazing right next door, which made the experience even more special and relaxing.
We visited the Falls of Bruar and Loch Tummel during our stay – both are close by and well worth seeing.
Sadly, we only stayed for one night, but we would have loved to stay longer. It's the perfect place to unwind and take in the beauty of nature. Highly recommended!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Orchid lodge and the surrounding scenery was beautiful - would definitely return! - The lodge itself is a home away from home. The location is the perfect distance from Pitlochry and Blair Atholl.
- Georgios (8/5): Very good -
- Naomi (9/5): Superb - We loved all the animals that freely roamed, Peggy stole our hearts 🐾 great value for money and the views are stunning Only small thing, We noticed the other lodges got robes but we didn't.
- Jacoba (8/5): Very good -
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Lovely cabin in a beautiful quiet location - The cabin has a lovely quiet location and a beautiful setting. Well equipped. Hosts provided directions and made everything simple to check in.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebekah (8/5): Stunning location in the countryside - Stunning location in the countryside. The bathroom was very dated and shower was not great
It would have been nice to have just basic complimentary tea coffee and milk sachets
- Lewis (10/5): Amazing. Will be back - The lodge was amazing and had some incredible scenic views and felt very private when sitting in the hot tub. It was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. The place was also spotless The instructions for finding the lodge were not very clear and signage for which lodge was the orchid lodge could’ve been clearer
- Phoebe (10/5): A must visit hidden wee gem - What a great night away. The best surprise being the very friendly and lovely animals who absolutely melted our hearts. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. An easy journey into Pitlochry and a very peaceful evening in the hot tub! Looking forward to returning. N/A
- Ryan (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (9/5): A lovely stay in Orchid Lodge - Great location - very rural although still a short drive or a beautiful walk to Pitlochry. We would recommend walking there from the Killiecrankie visitor centre and getting a taxi back.
The Lodge and decking area is big, plenty of space and everything you need. Both bedrooms are a good size.
The hot tub is brilliant and stays warm for hours.
The kids loved the local dog, so friendly and loves cuddles.
Good wifi so the kids could still get some quiet time and we could stream some movies. The shower is a bit tempermental. Goes from hot to cold. But when staying in a rural location in a beautiful lodge, we didn't let it bother us.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful surroundings, cabin was lovely as was the hot tub. The host was friendly and very helpful. We will definitely return.
- Sinead (6/5): Beautiful, clean Lodge but so disappointed that the hot tub did not work. - So disappointed that the hot tub did not work as this was the main reason for our overnight stay.
- Angela (9/5): Relaxing and peaceful - The hot tub was amazing The sofa and bed were uncomfortable
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roxanne (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cabin. Such a lovely little place and stunning scenery. Hosts were attentive. We cannot wait to come back!
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (10/5): It was perfect from start to finish. - Everything, it was beautiful, really cosy, so peaceful! The owners were lovely, we will definitely be back!
- Karen (4/5): Could be done with a sprucing up. - The hot tub and there was a Wii inside the lodge. The area the lodge is in. Great to see a few animals going about. The humming of the hot tub throughout the lodge when we were trying to sleep, it kept us awake and we struggled to sleep. Even in the other bedroom we could hear the noise of the hot tub. The main bed was comfy but could be done with an upgrade of the pillows. A definite upgrade of the mattresses and pillows in the other room with 2 single beds. The sofa was uncomfortable to sit on. The thing that catches the crumbs at bottom of the toaster was not clean. The kitchen chairs are wobbly. The grout in the shower needs re done and cleaned. The bottom of the toilet needs a good scrub on the inside. The stand that the shower head sits on is loose.
- Shona (10/5): Exceptional -
