Guest Reviews
- Serena (10/5): Comfortable and all needs met - The owners are so thoughtful and helpful. I couldn’t think of anything that we would need that wasn’t provided (we even were left crisps and biscuits and milk and a bottle of water in the fridge).
Good WiFi and very comfortable beds. Parking wasn’t always easy and the stairs are very steep.
- Eliza (9/5): - We liked everything about the cottage, which was cosy & delightfully quirky. We especially welcomed the little touches - tea, coffee, milk, sugar & nibbles. Was good to know that the host, Laura, was contactable if there were any queries. 🙂 Nothing at all.
- Graham (9/5): - Good communication. Parking arranged and a nice easy walk into the centre. Everything in the cottage was clean and comfortable. Everything was great.
- Julie (10/5): Never wanted to leave! - Everything! The communication with the warm friendly owners, the hospitable touches such as tea, coffee, milk biscuits crisps, shampoo and gel etc etc. The home from home cosiness of the property. The location that allowed us to walk everywhere and not use our cars at all. FABULOUS 😍 The upstairs are steep but we knew this before we came so not a problem as such
- ANNA (10/5): Fantastic home away from home❤️ - Excellent location, quiet area, close to the most beautiful places in the city. Parking outside the property.
Old fashioned home with lots of heart in it, clean and lovely❤️ love the old style furniture, very comfortable beds, excellent equipped kitchen and little terrace area.
Our daughter fell in love with the top bedroom and the spiral staircase is just breathtaking 🤩
Dinning area has some game boards, books… Everything created like as real home away from home.
Our host, Laura is absolutely fantastic person, with helpful advices and she really cares about us🥰
- Jacqueline (10/5): A home from home - Very well equipped and lovely extras! Hot water, comfortable furniture. Only 20 min walk to cathedral and city centre. The property was quirky but charming. The steep stairs and different floor levels upstairs were a bit difficult for us elderly people so just be careful.
- Lucy (10/5): - What a gem of a cottage. Lovely rooms downstairs, well furnished and plenty of equipment in kitchen. Nice touches such as tea, coffee, milk etc. And dishwasher tablets. Lots of little notes explaining how things worked. Loved the decoration and all the tasteful nick naks. Even had fresh flowers on the dining room table.
Really comfy beds. Great linen. Super fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. Shower gels and toilet roll also included.
It was an easy walk into the centre of Salisbury.
The owner, Laura, was so so kind. And couldn't have been more helpful. She was at the end of the phone when we needed to contact her, and communication was excellent.
We felt lucky to have found this house. Thank you 🌸
- Justine (9/5): Lovely cottage for a short break - Lovely little cottage within walking distance of Salisbury centre. Very clean and thoughtfully presented.
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful home with great hospitality - A wonderful stay. In a beautiful comfortable home. The owners had thought of everything. Even snacks to welcome us. Milk in the fridge, tea and coffee, sugar provided. Plenty of towels. Cooking oil, seasonings. Have stayed in many accommodations and I always find some of the basics missing nowadays so I was very impressed that the owners had gone above and beyond. Will definitely stay again next time I’m in Sailsbury!
- Paul (10/5): -

- Vanessa (10/5): Cosy pied à terre in Salisbury. - It was cosy and had lots of pretty antiques and local pictures. Nothing.
- Paul (10/5): - I absolutely adored the house, it really felt like a home from home for our stay. The thoughtfulness of the owners shone through. The little notes letting us know about some of the little quirks of the property, showed a level of care that was really appreciated. Nothing at all. It was a perfect place to stay.
- BP_CH (9/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Good communication from the host. Convenient quiet location walking distance from the centre. Easy street parking thanks to the permit organised by the host. Well equipped. Nice welcome basket :). Thanks so much! All good, only minor point - the fridge is quite noisy
- paul (10/5): Lovely time and place - Location and the house itself
- Sanjay (9/5): Great location & a reasonably comfortable stay in a hygienic location - Location and ambience Tight staircase, the third room in the attic is virtually inaccessible
- Paul (10/5): Great accomodation - Great accomodation. Clean. Spacious. Great check in process Steep stairs (as advised)
- Shakespeare (9/5): Lovely place to stay for a break in and around Salisbury. - Super location for Salisbury. Well equipped including welcome goodies. Beds all comfy, so important. Lovely to enjoy the afternoon sun on the decking. Worked well for our group. Thank you.
- Pascale (10/5): - The best place we stayed in during our 2 weeks holiday !
We loved staying in an authentic english house.
House is super cute, very comfortable and perfectly equiped. We found everything we needed.
Beds were very comfortable
House was very clean, located in a quiet street. Parking was easy to find on the street.
20 min walking from the cathedrale. Nothing !
- Annelies (8/5): Fijne plek! - Gezellig huis, goed gelegen om de stad te verkennen!
- Sharon (9/5): - Stylish, clean and comfortable house. Nice outdoor seating area. Appreciated the washing machine. Spiral staircase up to the attic, fine for anyone nimble but will challenge others.
Paying for street parking.
- NURIA (9/5): -
- RITA MARIA (8/5): - La decoración muy inglesa Demasiadas escaleras aunque la de caracol muy bonita
- Troon (10/5): Lovely home! - This house was really lovely. Our wonderful host left lots of cute wee notes everywhere on items to show us how to use them. She made sure the house had everything we would need - including milk in the fridge, shampoo/ conditioner, clean towels and fans in each room (it was 33 degrees, so they were welcomed!) We had such a lovely time staying here and loved sitting in the garden with a cup of tea and our dinner. Modern kitchen and bathroom with good-sized rooms.
It really did give us a clean, being at a family members' home like feel. We were instantly comfortable. Super comfy beds! Very cosy.
- Derek (10/5): Ideal for a group of friends or a family to share. Love to come again. - Very Nicely decorated and equipped. Very good communication with owner. Really caring in having all tea and coffee facilities ready for us as well as biscuits and crisps. Excellent storage for our bicycles. Really helpful about check in and checkout times. Loved the old vinyl record player. Kitchen very well equipped. In an ideal property there would be more than one bathroom and the toilet would be separate but we knew this when we booked and it was quite OK between friends.
- David (10/5): We had a great time in the property, it was clean and comfortable and very homely. It’s in a great location, very quiet, - The house was very welcoming and comfortable. The bedding was top quality and so soft and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped with complimentary tea and coffee, fresh milk in the fridge was a nice touch, as were the chocolates.
The spiral staircase was quirky and added to the feel of the house. The patio was area was lovely and a real suntrap in the afternoon.
- Tim (10/5): Absolutely loved staying here. - Everything you could possibly need was provided.plus extras.
Fun games , records ( absolutely to our taste) and player.
Lovely bath with loads of hot water.
Fresh flowers
Caff and decaf tea and coffee.
- Billy (10/5): Great property - Great location. Host very responsive. Property was in a good condition and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. None.

- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Rhonda (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (9/5): Authentic local experience - Laura's booking communication was excellent. She bent over backwards to make sure we knew what we were coming into. She was very thorough and made the check-in very efficient.
The space is cozy and has everything you need with the exception of a sharp knife (unless we just didn't see it) The back garden is a charming little space, although the our weather was not nice enough to be able to use it
- Sara (9/5): A comfortable house close to downtown - The house has everything you might need for a comfortable stay. It feels like stepping into somebody's private home. An extra bonus was the backyard with evening sun. The location is great, within walking distance of downtown, and a parking permit for the street was very convenient.
- Coomes (10/5): Laura was a great host. Quick to respond to my messages and offered help if I needed it during my stay. A beautiful hous - Clean, tidy, welcoming and great location Nothing
- Tina (10/5): Lovely homely feel , comfy beds, everything you could need in the house including toiletries and Mil - Location was perfect Everything was perfect
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abrylee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (9/5): The host was excellent, very welcoming and flexible with times. - Queens Cottage is well situated for a city break. It is comfortable and clean, with a well equipped kitchen, plentiful supply of tea, coffee, biscuits etc
- Barbara (8/5): Superb base for an amazing City stay. - Great location , easy to find. Central so the City sights are all within walking distance. The hosts supply everything you could require and it was all very clean and tidy. We were extremely comfortable and can happily recommend . Nothing.
- Kshamoun (10/5): Well Equipped and Warm Home - This was a well-equipped,, clean, and comfy home and the host was very helpful. They left snacks which was lovely. Parking in front of the house was a huge bonus. The beds were comfy. Just wished there were 2 more pillows.
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Jaqui (10/5): Felt like home. So relaxing and comfortable - Wonderful location. Walking distance to centre of town. Perfect for our family. Great communication from host. Replied to any messages straight away. Parking arranged with ease. Great little house. Nothing. Was perfect
- Lean (10/5): Perfect property, location and host :-) - Brilliant communication from the property host.
Location excellent. Really comfortable, home from home.
- Vicky (10/5): Exceptional - The property was thoroughly thought about for visitor comfort. Every detail from decaf tea, a snack tray and it being spotlessly clean was wonderful. Great walking distance to town and so spacious. We usually eat out when we go away but with the dining room we decided to stay in instead. The host Laura was super quick with any information and very generous with our check in and check out times. Parking on the street was easy and we wish we could have stayed longer! Hope to be back again. Nothing!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (9/5): Cosy place to stay, perfect for a quick visit to Salisbury! - Lovely cosy house to stay in. Host was brilliant, lots of little extras like snacks, milk, tea and coffee provided. Really lovely place to stay.
- Anthony (8/5): Great location and very helpful owner! Thank you! - Location was great! Only about a 10 minute walk to restaurants in the city centre, despite the fact that I need a crutch when walking any distance.
Pretty well equipped kitchen and house generally.
Loved the fact that some basic food (eg: milk) and treats (eg: KitKats & Crisps) were supplid free! A little more attention to detail - the main bedroom door did not remain shut - proprietor has already taken the issue on board.
Pay attention to the warning about 'narrow and steep' stairs - not a problem for us but it could be for others!
- Rhian (9/5): Lovely place to spend a weekend - A home from home. Good location, very comfortable- good communication with owner. Nice little extra touches.
- Susan (9/5): A well equipped cottage with many thoughtful extras. - Very attractive clean and comfortable. Lots of helpful notes by the owner. Free street parking and short walk to city centre. Milk in fridge on arrival! We were doing our own cooking so a larger frying pan and more sharp knives would have been useful.
Maybe advice on local Recycling?
- Louise (8/5): Very good - Excellent location.
Well equipped comfortable house. Generous welcome pack. Very helpful host.
- Helen (8/5): One night, comfortable, bonus to have a tumble dryer, functional. - Host responsive and thoughtful. Beds comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. TUMBLE DRYER!!!!! Steep staircase is challenging. Parking tricky. No front exterior entrance light
- Lilja-guðni (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (8/5): Very nice property, well located with good facilities - Location is pretty good, just 5-10 minute walk from the town centre and things to see. Facilities are good, comfortable beds, lovely bathroom, good Wi-Fi, kitchen small but perfectly adequate and we didn’t cook anyway. The owners were great, lots of communication when needed and a great touch was the snack treats which were very welcome after a long and very wet motorcycle ride. Thanks Laura and Pete. One small negative was the issue of parking. It’s not clear from the listing, I don’t think, that there is no onsite parking (a drive etc) and parking is on a residents parking permit street or car parks 5 minutes walk away. This could be clearer and although the owners were good enough to sort out permits, it’s not ideal.
Oh and the stairs are very steep - something to bear in mind.
- Harri (9/5): Would stay again if we are in Salisbury! Thank you :) - Fantastic location and great little wee house! Perfect for a short stay. It had all the amenities you'd need and is genuinely a short walk to almost everywhere. Nice little sunny patio on the back as well. I can't really fault much. All I can say is if you have mobility issues then the steep staircase might be an issue for you. However, our group didn't have this. Genuinely can't think of much bad to say.
- Stephen (9/5): Comfortable cottage style home that we enjoyed. - Beds very comfortable, great location.
- Karen (10/5): Felt at home as soon as I walked in x - Loved everything Nothing
- Alison (10/5): Lovely weekend with friends in Salisbury and property so close to the centre, host exceptional - Perfect location, everything required was in the property and my host was excellent. Nothing
- Penelope (10/5): outstanding property and lovely hosts. - absolutely 5 stars from us. We loved this warm and cosy home away from home. Hosts were so welcoming, and the cottage is very well appointed with everything we needed (and some complimentary snacks as well.) nothing - we loved everything about it.
- Nicola (10/5): Queen's Cottage is a comfortable place in a great location with all necessary amenities and a helpful owner who ens - My friends and I recently stayed at Queen's Cottage and had a truly lovely experience. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the surrounding area and get to Stonehenge. The cottage itself is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We were very grateful for the complimentary tea and snacks, which were a nice touch. The place was spotless and very cozy, providing a homey atmosphere that made our stay even more enjoyable. Additionally, the owner was incredibly helpful. She promptly answered all of our questions, provided valuable advice, and went out of her way to assist us whenever needed. I highly recommend Queen's Cottage for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. We couldn't have asked for a better home base for our trip.
- Menting (10/5): Walking distance to restaurants & sites - It was quaint, had everything we could need and even had laundry. We met the owner and she was very kind and helpful. Nothing
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional - Dog friendly and a short walk to Salisbury Cathedral (about 20 minutes). I left my glasses and owner poster then to me. Thanks!
- Steven (8/5): Very good -
- Cheryl (9/5): Great value, lovely little house. - Great info and communication from host, easy access, spacious inside, everything we needed. Outdoor space could have been lovely if better kept.
- Carmel (6/5): We think a folder with some instructions would be helpful. - Hosts answered my queries promptly.
Kitchen was fully functional. Back door was very difficult to close, front door lock very loose.
Shower was also difficult to work out.
Hair dryer was impossible to use as cord extremely short and no plug was close enough to a mirror.
There was a piece of dried grass on the bottom sheet of the bed in the lower bedroom.
- Pascal (10/5): Nice house and neighbourhood, accomodationas described, very helpful hosts. - Nice and convenient layout, generally good space and rooms. Didn't see email with code for lock box. Assumed code was PIN given on Booking.com email. But Laura answered my call and explained what I needed.
- Hinrich (8/5): Salisbury Accommodation - Perfect location to explore Salisbury including easy parking. Well equipped holiday cottage.
- Stewart (9/5): Superb - Owners took care of parking permits for us and couldn't have been more helpful. A fantastic wee house within a couple of minutes walk of the town centre, would happily stay there again :-)
- Robin (8/5): Comfortable house in nice quiet location a few minutes walk from central Salisbury - Very good location. Hosts sorted a parking permit so that we could park outside the house. Very steep stairs!
- Pamela (10/5): Lovely house, great location for Salisbury - The style of the house. Everything we needed was there, and more. Laura the owner was great in helping us on our arrival. Despite the parking being limited and on street (consistent with city housing), a parking permit was organised and emailed to us as soon as we arrived which was great.
- Damian (8/5): Very good location, great place to stay - Location was brilliant, especially with the dogs, surprisingly short walk into town. Dishwasher was very useful. Very clean, character property, would gladly stay again. Had some wonderful vinyl and a portable deck to play on. Lack of cooking utensils, no grill pan or frying pan
- Elena (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (8/5): We had a fabulous stay in Salisbury . The house was lovely. Clean and comfortable. Everything we needed - Good location- near to the city centre.
Street parking - permit sorted by the host.
Clean
Comfortable
Warm
Well stocked kitchen utensils etc
Welcome pack - milk etc
Large fluffy towels
Plenty of toilet roll .
Host easy to contact and communicate with - prompt response, helpful. Draught from front door.
Some locks and doors required attention.
Although we managed stairs and spiral staircase a little challenging
- Robert (6/5): Fine but shouldn’t be advertised as 3 bedrooms because room in the loft had very difficult access and would be dangerous - Clean comfortable good location Third bedroom in loft space very narrow spiral staircase very difficult access
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (10/5): Great base to explore Salisbury. - Great location. Parking on the road outside the property with a parking permit organised by the host. Less than 10 minute walk to Salisbury centre. Property was warm and comfortable. Nothing springs to mind.
- Gleb (9/5): A perfect place to stay when exploring Salisbury. - The host arranged parking as requested and sent clear instructions about the key.
The location is excellent: just a few minutes' walk to the heart of the city, yet very quiet.
The house itself is charming and very well equipped. The rooms are good size and warm, the beds very comfortable, and the bathroom nice and large, with a good power shower.
We did not use the patio or the garden because of the weather but would have done otherwise.
I wish we could stay longer (perhaps we will next time we are in Salisbury) - it did feel like home from home. One of us thought the house would have benefited from having a cloakroom in addition to the bathroom/loo - but was outvoted by the rest of the party :)
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was amazing and our stay was wonderful.
Thank you so much
- Tara (10/5): Everything about our stay was perfect from communication, parking and the cottage itself. Lots bh of little added extra - It was absolutely perfect for our group
- Evangelos (8/5): Very good - The house was big and with plenty of space
- Ronald (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. It was lovely ...
- Katy (8/5): A comfy, friendly space that's fab value for money - A lovely cosy and homey place that's fantastic value for money. Most of all it's pet-friendly with an enclosed garden and there is a lovely park a few steps away. Friendly, helpful hosts live nearby. Even a terrace for sunny days! All was great though as they state in the description, the stairs to the first floor are quite steep and the spiral staircase to the topmost bedroom - a loft conversion with a great view - is even steeper. Weirdly, the description mentions the area is good for fishing (or did, unless it's been amended) and I can't imagine where that would be. The house is on a pleasant, quiet suburban street.
- Rajiinie (10/5): Exceptional - I loved Peter and Laura's warm welcome. The place was full of food and beverages, so friendly and thoughtful! Highly recommended
