Guest Reviews
- Henry (8/5): - Great location and facilities - generally very clean and tidy with great views from the top floor. The oven takes a very long time to heat up and a some of the crockery could do with a bit of a wash - maybe the dishwasher doesn't work properly?
- Rebecca (10/5): Restored the batteries. - Superb location off the A1 down a narrow lane. So easy to go up to Berwick and down to Bamburgh, Seahouses etc. So much wildlife. Take your binoculars and cameras. The bed was lovely and comfy and other than birdsong it was so quiet. Wonderful get away. Had to be careful getting out of bath following a shower. There was a slope in bath and was slippy.
- Juliet (8/5): Lovely house - House was lovely - clean, with everything needed for self catering - 3 tea pots! The bedrooms were lovely, comfortable and warm. The views from the little room at the top of the house were fab - wasn't expecting them tbh!
Parking was no problem. Even though there were 3 teapots there was not even one teabag! I think it's the first place I've ever stayed in the UK where there was literally no tea, coffee, or milk - basically bring everything! Also, no hand soap. The 'welcoming basket' was very random - it had a bottle of Aldi Prosecco ( I don't drink - took it to give to a friend) and a bottle of coke - again something I don't drink. Tea on the other hand would have been very much appreciated. Luckily, I brought some and coffee but little things like this make a big impression, especially seeing as booked for 4 nights. Also, maybe something to clean - bottle of kitchen spray? IF you want the place left clean, supply some cleaning products!
- Michael (6/5): - Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Nicely decorated and furnished. A strong smell of oil on the stairs and landing was unpleasant and made us feel anxious about breathing in toxic vapour
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): Lovely cottage in a great location - Lovely little cottage in a great location for all the main coastal sights and also good access to the Cheviot Hills, Cragside and Alnwick. Nothing at all to dislike!
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Loved the location. Quiet and peaceful with a bird hide overlooking Lindisfarne just a short walk away. Not a long drive to get to all the tourist attractions in the area The few local pubs weren't serving food during our stay and the local co-op wasn't greatly stocked. We needed to purchase bin bags which I've not had to do before for a holiday cottage and dishwasher salt.
