Guest Reviews
- ulla (10/5): - The Hideaway ist so gemütlich, so durchdacht, so gut ausgestattet.
- Paul (10/5): Absolutely great stay We would use again and recommend to friends - Absolute Gem of a place - small but well designed with everything you need for 2 folks and a small dog - clean and well appointed, couldn't ask for much more, good Wifi too.
We would definitely stay again if in the area, quintessential small English village, but be aware of limited immediate facilities, the village Pub is next door, but no village shop. Almost nothing to mention ...but If I have put something....Being extremely picky ....No eggcups...haha.. well we didnt find em!
But the eggs were great
- Bev (10/5): Lovely little couples escape. - Finished to high standard, very comfortable bed, lovely log burner fire ( logs etc including) as well as central heating if you didn't want to use fire.
Lovely welcome pack, fresh milk, eggs, butter, bread.
Washing up liquid, shower gel etc all included.
Really nice touch of outdoor lights shaped like Christmas Tree, small decorated Christmas Tree inside, fresh wreath on the door.
Pub next door if you feel inclined. Sliding doors could do will a runner on bottom. Position of cooker made it difficult to use with door to bedroom closed. Both very minor points wouldn't stop me staying again.
- Chiĺisun (10/5): - Stayed locally to twinlakes The only thing I'd suggest is a bigger sofa and a blind through the front door. Great place thanks 😊
- Jennifer (10/5): A wonderful stay in a beautiful, quirky place - Beautifully decorated with everything you could need. Thoughtful touches and lovely comfortable bed. Nothing!
- Jon (9/5): Excellent - Very clean, neat and well equipped, and great that good quality food items were left for coffee and breakfast too.
- HELEN (10/5): very very nice and cosey - great stay excellent communication from the hosts nothing
- HELEN (10/5): very pleasant stay would defiantly stay here again - everything , was very cosy , great hosts and made to feel at home nothing
- Heather (10/5): - Everything was so clean and tidy, fantastic attention to detail and a lovely place 😍
- Peter (10/5): Catered for all our needs ( had everything) lovely location and lovely accommodation -
- Adam (9/5): Amazing, peaceful getaway from everyday city life - Great location, very quiet and peaceful. Perfect for a little getaway or a little break from general city life. Had facilities for cooking, cleaning and overall a very tidy and well put together home. I can't fault the place, other than the lack of service but that cannot be helped by the host - purely a location thing.
- Roger (10/5): A visual delight / hideaway to take you away from the often fast paced stress of life. - Exceeded expectations Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Hidden Gem, perfect little getaway - Beautiful and honestly and very clean N/A
- Claire (10/5): Cozy and comfortable, and now a favourite! - This is a little gem! A beautiful little property that has so much character, that has been lovingly and tastefully decorated and finished. It had absolutely everything that I needed with lots of thoughtful details and little extras that you might not get in other places. I really lovely place to stay in any season, and although it was small, it felt cosy and comfortable. Ideally situated for me working just up the road at the Matt Hampson Foundation, with some lovely walks on the doorstep and the pub next door. It was just a little bit warm, which wasn’t surprising considering we’re having a heatwave! The host kindly came to check that I have what I needed and let me know where a fan was which made all the difference.
- Lynsey (10/5): Fab! - Beautiful little space, perfect for a couple! Nice courtyard area! Lots of extra little touches, bread, eggs, milk etc not expected and GHD straighteners! Great little find and excellent communication from the host! N/a
- Alistair (10/5): Excellent place to stay when visiting nearby Rutland - Cosy small hideaway accommodation close to Rutland and the lovely countryside! Everything was made available for a great 3 night stay by the owner - great feature of several maps glued to the bedroom ceiling was a surprise! Fairly busy road outside the property with several inconsiderate fast drivers who don’t abide by the Highway Code!
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- Lesley (10/5): Perfect hideaway! - Location was perfect, extremely comfortable and well equipped Nothing
- Nicola (10/5): Just what we were looking for for a weekend away from it all. It is beautifully decorated and realky quirky with everyth - A wonderful place with everything you need and more - the GHD straighteners were a great find. It’s definitely a hideaway as hidden away in the lovely village. Lots of walks and great pub next door Nothing
- Nikita (9/5): Superb -
- Lesley (10/5): Very relaxing retreat with great facilities. - Really cosy and comfortable, lovely decor and excellent facilities. Great location a lovely home from home! Nothing
- Louise (10/5): Fabulous - A stunningly styled little home from home. Jon welcomed us and our dogs. We wished we could have stayed longer. If I was being picky - the sofa wasn’t the comfiest. Everything else however- especially the bed & bedding, more than made up for it.
- Meachen (9/5): Superb -
- Natalie (10/5): Outstanding - The decor was amazing and lovely to have milk and bread etc there for us on arrival 😀 on road parking was brilliant. It was a quiet relaxing place to stay. Everything was up to a very high standard, everything you needed to make a very comfortable stay we actually wanted to take the bed home with us because it was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in , we would love to know what the make of the mattress was and we will most definitely be booking to stay again There was nothing that we didn't like
- Claire (10/5): The place was amazing and Jon was a lovely host. - Fantastic place, had everything you could need.
- Penney (9/5): Very impressed - Very unusual but beautifully done.
Everything supplied. Owner was lovely guy and very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Handy for the pub if that's your thing.
Bed very comfortable For us the location suited us very well. For others not prepared, there was no local shop
- James (10/5): Great few days away - Absolutely amazing place to stay! We had a great few days. High quality throughout and very quirky we loved it!! In a good position close to melton Mowbray and other nice villages. Perfect for couples wanting to get away. We will definitely be back Nothing
- Susan (8/5): Great walking location - Location is fantastic for walking. Accommodation is comfortable and well maintained. Locals are very friendly. Owner was really friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Skylight over the bed looks fabulous but be happy to wake up with the sunrise! No cupboard space for food storage and the local pub no longer serves food, so had to drive out for dinner (Fox and Hounds at Knossington was a delight!)
- Maureen (10/5): Fabulous place to stay - A lovely, unusual, unique place to stay. Very clean and had everything we needed.
The wood burner made it feel very cosy. Very quiet location. Host left tea, coffee, milk, eggs, bread, butter, jams Everything was perfect no complaints.
- Tracey (10/5): Wonderful little hideaway. - Very nicely appointed. The facilities at the site were great. The living room was a little small, but perfect for a base to explore the area. Also, the pub next door was advertised as doing great food, but had recently made the decision to stop serving food.
- Peter (9/5): Lovely little place beautifully decorated and comfortable - The bed was very comfortable and we loved the log burner quiet little village close to main towns . No hangers to hang your clothes in the bedroom.
What a shame the cushions outside had been left out in the rain for a long while they were mouldy and we couldn’t sit on them .
- Johann (10/5): Exceptional - Tastefully decorated facilities all in pristine condition. The host left fresh bread, eggs, and also farm fresh milk - more than adequate for breakfast on both days. The property even has a little fireplace stocked with wood, kindling and everything needed for a cosy little fire. You'd have to turn down the heating though, as it is very effective in the property. Would be great in summer to utilise seating outside too.
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): Outstanding, stunning place. WOW - no problem at all, no waiting, no fuss, really straightforward.
- Martin (8/5): Hideaway was excellently presented , perfect for a short stay. - Very quirky , perfect for a couple of days visit.
- Natasha (10/5): Highly recommend the Hideaway - The Hideaway is a stunning little hidden gem, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and Jon was a fab host 😊
- Karen (10/5): Superb! - Everything…. It was perfect! Nothing
- Clare (8/5): Quirky - It was quirky with lots of nice touches to make it different from other places we have stayed. The courtyard was nice for us but not really good for a dog.
- Greetham (4/5): Disappointing - The decor is lovely. It was vary dusty dirty bed sheets wood outside Is worn not like pictures sent a message to owners but no response so will leave my feed back traveled their on 17th for 2 nights
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (9/5): Great accommodation in a lovely village with a pub next door - Clean and tidy. In lovely location for walking my dogs shame pub didn’t do food The glass ceiling. Looked intriguing in photos but not ideal in bedroom as gave too much light. Needed a blackout blind
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional and the owner of the property went out of his way to making us welcome. Definitely recommend 100%
- Karen (9/5): Quality time spent with family, perfect in every way - The property is bijou and compact, tastefully decorated and the location was ideal for us. There was nothing I didn’t like.

- Matthew (10/5): perfect property for a weekend get away or a break from busy life - lovely village with nice walks for the dogs, local pubs nearby and a 30 min drive to Leicester city centre, was a great position ! just what we were after! greeted by Jon to fill us in on the area and kind gifts left for us such as milk, bread, eggs and jam ! nice touch that makes a great impression
- Julie (10/5): lovely lovely would stay again thankyou - there were items left for bread ,eggs ,orange juice ,milk ,jam ,relish ,sweets ,chocolate .lovely little patio area all fenched off ,lovely peace full area ,loved everything about the hind away ,great host nothing, everything was great
- Jane (10/5): amazing - very clean tidy good decor.everything you need there bread milk butter eggs jams tea coffee sugar.toiletries supplied and towels and bedding .Alexa also . nice private garden host very helpful nothing
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great lots of areas to walk.
The hideaway has everything you need and is a really great cosy base Nothing
- Lucy (9/5): Brilliant, well appointed and impeccably decorated little let. - I couldn’t fault this property for its decor, facilities and warm welcome. The host was amazing and very accommodating. Lovely treats greater and our dog was also made very welcome. we would definitely stay again. if I had to be really picky the I would say it’s proximity to the pub was a bit of an issue as the window over looked the beer garden and there was some noise but didn’t go in too late and the pub kitchen extractor was next to the garden which cause a smell. Unfortunately these things are not in the control of the host.
