Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): Great house in a perfect location. -
- Bernice (7/5): - The location was perfect - the serene view over the river was such a treat A BBQ would have been great. The house in general was tired, it's time for a facelift to continue with a big rent let. Outside needed a power wash. In the house downstairs was soulless so minimal that it was bland. As the Mum of two adult boys I gave each of them the larger bed rooms. I slept in one of the single beds - comfort - not good enough. Upstairs bathroom obviously needs gutting and a new start. Moisture mould showing in the shower recess, the vent/exhaust full of dust. When paying big money for a couple of days I don't mind paying, but I expect top quality.
- Laurice (8/5): -
- Karl (6/5): -
- Maryann (8/5): Great location for a short getaway. - The location was perfect and outdoor area was great. Kitchen was also quite well equipped. Stairs were narrow and upstairs bathroom was quite small. Also not cleaned very well.
- Raymond (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): highly recommend - Location, comfort, amenities and views - opposite the water
- Ron (8/5): perfect for us. We mainly went to play golf -
- Mark (9/5): -
- Liuhong (8/5): clean and quiet - The deck and the view along the river is wonderful. The electric kettle is quite old. There's heavy incrustation inside. It's disgusting.
- Rosalyn (10/5): -
- Jennifer (9/5): Lovely Moorings - Great location, views, lovely, clean, comfy Heating takes a long time to get warm
- Amanda (10/5): - Location, comfortable beds, beautiful views.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Great location
- Georgina (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location .
The river views were outstanding.
Comfortable home.
Great tv For the price the furniture upstairs was a little shabby.
The undersink cupboard needs a deep clean .
Dining chairs fairly worn.
I had to replace the batteries in the remote for split system.
- Lisa (10/5): Great location, the back deck view is beautiful - Comfortable and close to town. Awesome view from the back deck.
- Josie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (9/5): Great location and outlook. - Property was in a great central location to the Main Street, with lovely views over the Moyne river.
Outside deckings were excellent, and even the fish were biting there as well.
Secure under cover parking was a real bonus.
We stayed for a week and never needed the car, being able to walk everywhere was a real treat.
All amenities in the accom met our expectations. The bed was comfy, it had a lovely bathroom with very plush towels. Kitchen and dining areas were very spacious and well equiped. This is absolutely no fault of the accommodation, but across the river was a new house being built.
So all week we had the noise of builders which was annoying. Oh well, that’s life.
- Dauriac (5/5): Passable - It was not clean especially in the kitchen drawers, cutlery, plates, glasses, in short, everything in the kitchen deserves a good cleaning.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, so close to the Main Street and stunning being on the river.
- Renae (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (2/5): very very disappointed, will not recommend - location , great for the town and the beach very dirty , unloved , old appliances that were grubby , no wow welcome .Complained and still I was expected to stay in a dirty house , no refund from the owner and no correspondence.Booking.com tried on our behalf and still they would not accept any responsibility
- Angelika (7/5): Location terrific, standard good be better - Location, the layout of the premises, Need some more care. Outside area needs maintained: broken chair, broken floorboards on decking, dirty balcony, mismatch of eating and kitchen appliances, flyscreen at main room not working-class
- Sarah (9/5): Excellent destination for a family - Excellent property within walking distance of the Main Street.
- Wendy (9/5): great thanks - very helpful when a door got stuck, thank you so much The property was clean but not "sparkling" eg cobwebs inside and out, mugs stained from previous tea drinkers,
- Chris (9/5): Great spot ! - Easy walking distance to shops. Clean, tidy, great view Liked it all - the main bedroom door needs an oil !
- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Des (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zubin (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (9/5): Nice place to stay, very close to town and beaches, the decking down by the water is great. -
- Nikki (9/5): Quick girls getaway, slept the 5 of us very comfortably. We enjoyed staying in enjoying the view of the river. - Stunning location with beautiful views of the river. Comfortable beds and great open lounge and dining area. Nothing.
- Alan (8/5): A comfortable house with great outdoor areas right on the river. - We have often thought it would great to stay in one of these iconic absolute river frontage houses on Gippsland Street. The ambience is lovely with the boats and river. It is also minutes away from all the central town action, yet very quiet. The renovated bathroom is excellent. There is a rainwater tank, essential in Port Fairy. I know you can pay two or three times as much and have a new or totally renovated house, but this place worked for us.
- Colin (1/5): See above - Poor standard of accommodation and housekeeping
- David (9/5): I thought from the pictures it was part of an apartment block.thought it was expensive - Location was fine
No breakfast ! Felt too expensive
- Maureen (8/5): Great location on the river - Fabulous location on the Moyne River and easy to walk out to town, cafes, etc. Comfy bed in main bedroom downstairs. We didn't use the upstairs bedrooms -- luckily just 2 of us and everything downstairs was comfortable. Steep and tricky stairs up to the 2 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.
Outside furniture needs replacement and the listed BBQ was not there.
- Ava (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): Overall, great place to stay - right in town, very handy to pubs/cafes and East Beach. - Location right in town and proximity to beach was excellent. We could walk almost everywhere, even with two small children. The back deck on to the river was lovely for sitting out (we made good use of that) and the child-proof fence/gate (in excellent condition) took away any stress. The staircase to the upper bedrooms was a bit steep, so was a little worry with a two-and-a-half and a four-and-a-half year old, but having said that, they did scuttle up and down without problems.
- Kate (5/5): Good but place needs renovating - The location is great Kitchen cutlery and glasses worn out - not dirty as such but more crazed and old
Beds very hard, I did have to go by a bed topper for the queen as it was unbearable
upstairs bathroom old,
The place needs a revamp
- Kathryn (8/5): We enjoyed our stay at the Moorings and would return. - The location of the Moorings could not be better, one block from the main street, not far to the lighthouse, beach etc - everything is in close proximity. Kitchen was well set up. Great view over the river - very calming. The stairs to the first floor are narrow. The water pressure was slow. Would have been handy if the garage was accessible.
- Leah (7/5): We really Love the Moorings, and plan to return We hope the comfort for 2nd & 3rd bedrooms can be i - We love the location on the river and proximity to Banks St Hard to fault apart from the beds on the upper level being very uncomfortable. Particularly the single beds but all had very bad reviews from our family guests
- Narelle (7/5): Good -
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (9/5): Great house and location fronting the river. - Everything was as stated in the advertising for this property.
Location - fronting the river. Excellent for bird watching and photography.
Pity our travel schedule limited us to one night. Nothing that I can think of.
- Carol (8/5): Very good - Maintenance needed to be done - it was a bit tired
- Rebekah (9/5): Fab spot, great place, we'll be back! - View was amazing. Great spot! There was no tea-towel so we couldn't dry dishes upon departure. There were also used towels rolled up in the bathroom shelf when we arrived.
- Anne-marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- G (9/5): Superb - Hot shower, big room, very inexpensive
- William (9/5): Comfortable roomy townhouse with beautiful view. - Nice location on the river with nice view and within walking distance of town centre. Was not aware from description of the property that two bedrooms were upstairs, which were not the easiest for carrying up suitcases.
- Linda (8/5): Great place but with not much money spent on it could be amazing. - The view was anazing and location on the river and proximity to street was perfect . Close to town etc. main bedroom downstairs was great but upstairs needs a refurnish. The beds upstairs were hard and small. The two singles were on wheels and just slid every time you moved. The main queen downstairs was very lush and comfortable . The bathroom upstairs needs an update, skirting board rotten on both sides of shower .
Outside furniture needs to be updated.
- Ross (5/5): Price doesn’t reflect condition of the property in my opinion, well over due for an update. - Location Smaller than I expected, looks like it is overdue for a freshen up,timber floor in terrible condition and made the place feel tied, dinning room chairs are worn out as is the outside dinning setting.
- Cushla (8/5): A pleasant stay - Lovely location over the water. Steep stairs to bedrooms on the upper level. If oldies or folks with bad knees had the upper bedrooms they would have had difficulties ….
- Leah (8/5): water views and walkable distance to town. - location was excellent. we have booked to stay again in December, to hopefully make use of the outdoor area in warmer weather it was a little untidy at the front and there were maggots in the rubbish bin as food had been disposed of and bin not put out for collection. i would have personally appreciated a full length mirror in the master bedroom but otherwise we all thought it was a great place to stay.
- Ian (10/5): Great house in a great location. - Great accommodation in a fantastic location. Even better than I thought it was going to be. A highlight of our week-long Ocean Road trip. We will be back. Nothing - all good.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Great location. Good size perfect for families. Amazing views. Took us one freezing cold night to work out the heating. Clearer instructions needed.
- Judith (8/5): A great stay was had by all of us. would definitely stay again. - The proximity to the shops and restaurants, also on the river. The property was well stocked in the kitchen, access to tv channels a bonus.
all in all a very comfortable stay. would definitely stay there again. The dining chairs are a little tired, and upstairs bathroom needs some remedial work where the shower seal has water damage to the skirting board.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Great house in fab location. - The house is very spacious & well laid out & the kitchen is well equipped. The location is stunning, right on the river. Couldn't be better, close to shops & restaurants. The remote for the garage roller door didn't work, there was a broken cupboard door in the kitchen that nearly knocked me out when I went to open it & the down stairs shower was a bit grubby around the grout at the base.
- Jacqui (7/5): Very pretty location with a lovely view and walking distance to shops. - Location Beds not comfortable. Property needs some maintenance. No Wifi connection even though advertised as having Wifi. Kitchen cupboard hinge broken. No tea towel in kitchen.
- Paul (10/5): Great location. Views over estuary. - Admin retrieved belongings left behind and returned by mail. Commincatioed the process/ Maybe a second TV in a bedroom.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very pleasant. - Location, decks, furnishings. The floor in the front bedroom was wet when we arrived, I mopped it up. The staircase to upstairs is quite steep but not well lit and easy to miss the last step.
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- Ajitha (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (9/5): great spot in port fairy - wonderful location, well equipped, great views and outdoor space beds upstairs were not good
- Neville (10/5): We'll be back. - The location near river views and the city centre was excellent. We also had the bonus of undercover secure parking.
- Steve (10/5): perfect stay , wish we were there for longer - very well appointed unit , location was beautiful
- Robert (6/5): Great location - Great location and well provided accommodation. Very good pricing Lounge Furniture showing signs of age
- Jasmine (6/5): Not a bad stay - Huge and cosy house, 2 storey house, 3 bedroom and 2 toilets, extremely good view and the balcony dated furniture, especially level 2
- Leeanne (8/5): Very good - the view was spectacular bikes were provided tyres were flat no pump so couldn’t ride bikes which was disappointing.
beds were very hard.
clear pipe to the upstairs toilet with green algae you could see was not very appealing
- Anna (9/5): Great location, comfortable, clean and beautiful view! - Great location, easy walking distance to the town and beach. Beautiful views from the back balcony over the Moyne River. Clean and comfortable, would definitely stay again!
- Adele (10/5): Great place to stay. - Amazing location and very comfortable. Very well presented. Easy to stroll up to the Wharf Restaurant for dinner and around the town. We breakfasted at The Hub. The house has a great deck over the river and we would have loved to have a drink out on the deck, unfortunately the weather was cool and drizzly. It was a beautiful place to stay. There is nothing I didn't like. The only thing that was missing was a tea towel and milk in the fridge, but that's probably an oversight.
- Traceyt (10/5): great location for our night stay. - location and view
- Tim (8/5): Very good - The view Beds where uncomfortable
- Anonymous (10/5): gorgeous, pity we were only there for 1 night, - the location, the spectacular views, proximity to town nothing! perfect stay!!
- Kyoung (10/5): Exceptional - location. close by river none
- Emily (7/5): very good, would stay again - location
- Phil (8/5): Very good - Location was perfect for us BBQ ran out of gas , beds were a bit hard from our perspective
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (9/5): Great, really anjoyed it, would use this place again in a heartbeat! - The location is fantastic, near to town and on the water, People had complained in previous reviews about things which really weren't justified in our view. The "rusty" bikes that someone moaned about were actually in great condition and free to use by guests, a bonus in our view. Yes the place has had lots of use and is a little worn in places but has character and is very comfortable and clean, sure the outdoor furniture could benefit from a power wash but was clean, plentiful and usable, all very good. We didn't see any problems with "tight access" and the beds were all comfortable and had quality bedding, again all good. Nothing really, there were even lots of essentials in the fully equipped kitchen for guest use.
- Sim (7/5): Great location - The views, the fresh linen and the location Sofa needs replacing and brighter iighting in the staircase.
- Noel (7/5): Good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (9/5): beautiful place on the river - the beautiful deck and amazing location some things could do with a little tlc but all worth it for that setting
- Helen (9/5): Excellent location, furniture and comfort ready for an update - The Location Bed, dining, lounge furniture not overly comfortable. It is ready for an update. Same with cooking utensils.
- Barry (9/5): it accommodates groups and families very well and was well priced. - the townhouse was modern. clean and inviting. 1 master downstairs with the living and 2br upstairs were great. great BBQ and deck on the river. the entrance was via a courtyard which was a little uninviting, lots of concrete and lots of bins and 2 old bikes
- Kate (8/5): Location 10/10 - comfortable , but upstairs bath/rm tired . Would have been a nice gestur - Location great Bit disappointed with the lack of water pressure in showers
- Niamh (4/5): do not recommend this place, customer service and picture very misleading. - nothing much to say here, we are in Australia 2 weeks and this was quite possibly the worst stay. I wanted advice on the property before arrival and both normal landline and emergency phone went straight to message minder. I never got a return call till 10:07am the next morning and the lady was least helpful.
The property pictures used online are years old and very deceiving. Only one of four of the beds had electric blankets. The property was freezing and a damp smell on arrival. The heaters didn’t work great, the windows are all mould. I wasn’t impressed at all, we are traveling around Sydney and have stayed in motels etc and this property has been the worst experience yet.
- Nicole (4/5): Disappointing - Both single beds, and the double bed were very uncomfortable. The single beds were on castors which skidded across the floor each time you rolled over in bed. Both lamps in top floor bedrooms were broken and 1 disgarded in the wardrobe. 1 blanket in single bedroom was scrunched up in wardrobe and dirty, a second (folded) blanket also had brown marks on it. The upstairs shower pressure was non-existent. All guests had to use the downstairs shower.
