Guest Reviews
- Ian (10/5): Value for money - Nice cosy
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Patterson (3/5): Hut disappointing - The location and hot tub were great. The door didn't shut properly massive security issue. it wasnt private as described i could see into the other hut.
It was very unclean, someone dirty bobble left in the shower drain, for the price it was not worth the money.
And just a preference but was facing the wrong direction would be better if the door opened onto the patio.
Tv didn't even work for signal.
- Dave (6/5): Mediocre could be better with a bit of tlc - Set in an excellent location Smashed window in door and door was hard to open and lock miscellaneous size plates and not enough of them also broken door on one of the cupboards and wasn’t overly keen of sharing the sauna with the other guests was under the impression each hut had its own sauna as it didn’t say when booking it was communal also bbq was covered in rust and grill was left lying in the dirt with nothing to clean it with

- Kayla (10/5): private, scenic and peaceful, perfect for couples for the weekend or a night away. - i love how private it is and how aesthetic the hut is, it all pairs together really nicely and just created a pleasurable atmosphere to be in there was nothing i didn’t like, i got more than I asked for, not a second of it went against what I wanted. It was a lovely night stay
- Alex (8/5): Little getaway - Lovely remote location. Vert peaceful. The facilities were great hot tub, sauna and bath tub. Great use of space within the hut. The hut was amazing, although I do think it could do with being refreshed with a lick of paint. Otherwise, this is a great little getaway.
- Amy (7/5): - Lovely garden and hot tub. Friendly staff. Great hot tub, never saw our neighbours. Recommended :) Wish the garden was enclosed for the dog, and maybe more plates. Glass needs replacing in door too.
- Morgan (9/5): Night at the hut - Enjoyed the whole but short stay very well set up There was no handrail and steps were slippery when wet
- Christine (8/5): Cosy - Was very cosy and immaculate inside Paid on booking.com for the hut with the sauna and outdoor bath, but it wasn't available so was put in a different hut with a hot tub but still paid the price. No sofa, just a little seat to watch tv at night. It was a lovely stay but was false advertised.
- Saffron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Just the best ever! - Just back from a much needed, girlie overnight stay in Charlie’s Hut with my mam and our wee dog Toby. Honestly cannot fault it at all, everything is 5* throughout, warm and cosy inside with every appliance you could ever need. Shower is warm, bed, pillows etc all plush hotel quality. The hot tub is a dream and added bonus having the sauna which we had to ourselves for most of our stay. Beckie was such a lovely host from start to finish. Already planning our next trip back, I hadn’t even been there 15 minutes and I was already recommending to friends and family. If you’re thinking of booking, I promise there is no better Shepard Hut experience in the North East!

- Kelvin (10/5): Perfect 👌 a hidden gem - Hot tub , sauna , fire, location Everything

- Amy (5/5): Lovely location and hut - The hut was lovely and the surroundings About an hour after we arrived another couple arrived and realised that we had been double booked, owner was hard to contact, we were told we could either use the other hut (which other people arrived at that hut later, so maybe we would have ended up with the same situation)
However because we had already been in the hut with our dog and in the hot tub the owner offered the other couple that was there the same deal and they left.
Although we then were left to relax in the hut i obviously felt on edge as understandably the other couple were not very happy.
- Naomi (7/5): Good stay overall but a little overpriced - The location was great for visiting Beamish Museum, this was the main reason we chose this accommodation. The hot tub was a nice feature too, we sadly ran out of time to try out the sauna. Good water pressure in the shower was a plus. We found that the mattress and pillows were pretty lacklustre unfortunately and didn't fit with the luxury feel of the rest of the hut. Overall it felt a little overpriced compared to other shepherds' huts we've stayed in previously that were cheaper but provided more toiletries and complimentary food items (e.g. homemade cakes, bread, jam) for a more personal feel that we didn't really get a sense of with this one. There was only a microwave oven which worked okay but in hindsight we should have double checked the photos rather than relying on the Booking.com amenities listed. The robes for the hot tub felt very rough.
- Gabriella (10/5): Fantastic night away for myself and my partner! -
- Fenny (10/5): An excellent little getaway would definitely recommend. - It was away from everything so very quiet and cosy. nothing
- Adi (10/5): An attractive place in an idyllic setting - Loved everything from start till the end.The hut was so cozy, had everything needed and the owner was really helpful and friendly
The hot tub and sauna and all the suroundings made our stay absolutely amazing

- Henry (9/5): Superb - The hut we stayed in was perfect and so cozy. Had everything you needed to just sit back and relax and enjoy your surroundings. Definitely go back next year in the warmer months to enjoy an outside log fire 🔥 Cant really complain about a thing. Just poor weather at the time we booked
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Kieran (8/5): Had a nice night - Cool little getaway N/a
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Maureen (9/5): Great - Set in a wooded area this seemingly little hut doesn’t give away its astounding interior. The interior has a WoW factor with cottage style decor, quality appliances and superb design. It even has a large modern shower. Hidden away was a pull down comfy double mattress. It must have great insulation because when it rained it I couldn’t hear it and felt warm and cozy. Nothing
