- Will (1/5): Very disappointed. Not like the photos. - Nothing unfortunately. Had to leave and not stay at this property as we didn’t feel safe.
Have now lost my money as had to pay out again for a hotel. Dirty.
Shower, lights didn’t work
Door didn’t close properly. No lock on door.
Dead flies in the blind.
Hole in the roof.
Half painted.

- Kallum (8/5): Great place to stay, beautiful scenery, host great; just pack well. - Location is perfect, facilities good. Host was great! Lights had no batteries, Carbon monoxide alarm didn’t have batteries, given the fire they should be checked.
- Aaaliyah (10/5): We had such a lovely time and David was a very kind soul and an amazing host he made us feel extremely welcome and at ho - very comfy and cosy and the hot tub was amazing! and everything is set up so you can have an easy stay x not a single thing any bits of the property that were messed up were caused by irresponsible visitors and it’s a shame people would cause harm to such a beautiful thing
- Jay (10/5): Lovely relaxing - Lovely location very relaxing and the owner was a lovely bloke

- Williams (8/5): - The place was secluded, view was amazing. The hot tub was brilliant. The lighting there was poor...more a glorified torch.

- carla (9/5): - We liked that it was different to what we would normally go for very adventurous and the farmer was lovely The only negative we had was the fire went out at 2.30 in morning and had nothing else to light it back up so it was very cold and during our hour in the hottub we tried to light the fire back up but all the logs were wet and we had terrible trouble doing it so we didn't get as much out of the hottub that we could of.
- Sherry (2/5): - Booked this for my fiances 40th birthday. It wasn't nothing like the photos online the bed wasn't made properly it was like someone had just got out of it the floor wasn't clean was told it might be a little bit muddy due to the weather but it was really muddy. We didn't stay so had to book another room in the town at another cost. Really disappointed with the whole experience.
- Isabelle (8/5): Overall we really enjoyed our trip to the haystack! The small minor things noted are more just things to note rather tha - We really enjoyed our time away at the haystack and will be returning. The bed is super comfy! The area is very private so it really feels like you are just away in your own little world. The big battery back for lamps and phone charging was a great feature, as well as the bio-ethanol fire to get the cabin all warm and cosy. It was lovely getting out of the hot and being able to enter a warm and cosy atmosphere. The only two minor things about the property that we have are the road to the property, and the hot tub temperature. The road to the property is a proper farm track, we drive a very small car and although we were made aware of the farm track I don’t think it was stressed to us how steep and off-road it essentially was. The car made it to and from the property okay, however better foresight of this we’d have properly used a different car. The second minor thing was the hot tub temperature. We’d asked for the hot tub to be lit prior to our arrival, unfortunately it had not so the hot tub was extremely cold when we got there. David was great at coming back to help us with this though and got the fire up and going straight away. The hot tub heated up well so this was not a problem. The only small issue is that we were only able to spend about an hour and a half in the hot tub before it got too hot for us. Although this was likely user error with keeping the fire going, it was ever so slightly disappointing that we couldn’t spend longer in there. It did however mean that the hot tub was still lovely and warm in the morning so we were able to use it again before heading off.
- Fern (7/5): Nice stay, in the colder months a heat source and some lights would have been helpful. - Hot tub outside was great and it was lovely to have the horses and sheep right outside. Lovely little place, great for one night. No heating at all. Good job we packed layers as we had to sleep in hoodies to keep warm and plenty of blankets, no lights inside had to use phones as torches, could do we some rechargeable lights in there as we know it’s off grid but a source of light would have been ideal. A lamp was in the corner but no plug sockets to plug the lamp in. Also fire wood was damp so only had 30 minutes or so with the fire outside then had to go in as it was pitch black outside.

- Lottie (10/5): A perfect night that will be remembered - I loved the cosy atmosphere of the haystack, David was unbelievable in helping us find the property and made sure our stay was perfect😆 David came during our stay to make sure everything was going smoothly for us going above and beyond for us which i thought was exceptional service i would definitely recommend any of his properties and we will definitely be returning to check them all out There was nothing about the property or our stay that i would change it was exactly what we needed to escape from reality for the night
- Jacqueline (10/5): FACTORY RESET.... COMPLETE - Me and my friend decided we needed a mental health break, and how better to do it than to go and reset in nature. Everything was absolutely perfect. Our hot tub was lite when we arrived so ready to go. The cabin was surprisingly warm considering the weather. The owner and the people who work here couldn't do enough. We will defo be returning in the future
- Michelle (10/5): - Complete relaxation

- Suzi (10/5): A little escape... - The location is amazing and very calming although the neighbours (cows) were a tad noisy at times!
I'd asked for the hot tub to be lit prior to my arrival and it was. Which is good because I couldn't find a lighter in the hut, I never thought to bring one with me. There were towels though.
Considering it's in a field, it was clean and matched the description - the hut being comfortable and the outside area perfect for me to sit out and enjoy the scenery.
There's a battery pack for a lamp, with a socket and usb slot, a stove for if it's cold - and a kettle on top if you need to brew up.
The toilet is a compost one but has toilet roll and wipes. There's no tap but I managed with a bottle of water - plus the hot tub of course. It was still really warm the next morning!
I'm not normally a camper so I didn't take a lot with me but it'd be useful to treat this like a camping experience and take everything you think you'd need. A sign on the gate to the field would be useful. I followed the directions but hesitated at opening the gate in case it let out any farm animals so confirmation I was going the right would have been handy.
The road up is very bumpy and steep so go in a suitable car. Mine handled it fine but a low one might have problems.
- Noone (9/5): Perfect getaway from the rat race - Beautiful location, if you like walking, peace and breathtaking scenery. It was nice to get away from new technology and back to basics. The farmer and his wife were pleasant and welcoming, they couldn't do enough to accommodate us. Couldn't make a cup of tea, next time we would take our mini camping stove and kettle, but that is just a minor hiccup. Didn't ruin our stay
- Mark (10/5): Log fired hot tub sells it - Getting back to basics on a hot bank holiday , surrounded by sheep and cows no electricity, a log fired hot tub, miles from anywhere in a field, loved it. Good help from the farmer and if it's what your looking for try it.. Nothing
- Ben Chinky (3/5): Wish I knew more before I got there - The views were lovely No electricity no hot water facilities hot tub was luke warm
- Josh (10/5): - Everything was perfect.
Lovely views 👌
Exactly what we expected.
Thankyou

- Natalia (10/5): Our second time staying here and will definitely be back. Honestly so peaceful and beautiful. - Beautiful views and great hosts.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jem (10/5): Lovely little break away! - Lovely remote area, comfortable bed, nearby amenities, lovely hot tub, lovely views all round, friendly, accommodating and very helpful farmer. Would have been a little better with a portaloo type of toilet, but wasn't all too bad with the price, location or staff.
- Josie (8/5): Very good -
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good - Lovely quiet location, very relaxing
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rita (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Great stay great host - Great stay had everything that we needed and more.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - What a find this place was, so peaceful, with stunning views, and knowledgeable and helpful hosts, we can't wait to visit again
- Alice (10/5): The perfect getaway - Thank you for such a lovely stay. The host was really welcoming and friendly. We loved the hot tub and the fire pit, and we enjoyed exploring the local area. We took our dog with us and she loved the freedom, pets being included in the price was a big yes for us as well. We will definitely be returning, and we hope to potentially try your other accommodation too. We have also recommended The Haystack to our friends. Thanks again! The only suggestion we have to improve would be to have a black out blind/curtain on the door for those that aren’t wanting to be woken by the sunlight, though this is of course personal preference.
- Carys (10/5): Exceptional - Such a peaceful stay. Just what I needed after treatment just the two of us getting away from the busy life.
We will be back.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Very discreet Couldn't flush toilet
- Maddy (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (10/5): Welcoming, cozy and breathtaking views! Want for nothing. - It is so peaceful and remote. Hot tub was already warmed up for us when we got there and was plenty of logs to keep us warm in there, also lots of little logs for the log burner inside the hut. Host was so nice and helpful an made us feel like it was our farm to wander about. So nice to wake up and hear nothing but the lambs baa’ring. Clean, cozy and amazing location and views. 11/10. Nothing!
- Boo (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful place to stay - It was intimate and quiet with beautiful scenery Nothing
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional - Such a peaceful break away, the views are incredible and the hot tub is a great additional to an already idyllic location.
- Kerry (10/5): Desirable - I liked the surroundings It was very cosey and clean
- Hannah (10/5): Cozy and relaxing place to stay with beautiful views - Amazing view

Very relaxing Nothing
- Becki (9/5): We would definitely in the summer to benefit the fire pit etc. - Location was perfect, secluded and very quiet.
- Hannah (9/5): Amazing! - We loved how romantic and peaceful it was, our first weekend away for a very long time without any children at a much needed time. The place was magical! Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars was just exceptional. Sitting outside just taking in the peace and quiet and toasting marshmallows was amazing!! The only thing we would recommend would be a proper toilet and lights that works, most of the time the outside lights didn’t work as they were solar but when they did work it made it so lovely and cosy.
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (7/5): A pleasant stay! Beautiful location perfect for couples. - View are sensational, a very secluded location, the hot tub was amazing. Staff were very accommodating Barely any lighting outside, they just didn’t seem to work.
- Amy (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (10/5): Beautiful - My daughter and her partner had a fabulous time away, all made so comfy, cosy and personal with it being a special birthday . Chocolates and fizz were a nice surprise before getting into the pre heated hot tub.
They really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others wanting an escape.
- Roisin (10/5): Lovely child free get away even in the mud and rain! 😁 - Lovely location, warmer than we thought it would be for 30th November/1st Dec
- Kat (8/5): Very good -
- Sandy (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you Ben & Sam a very unique stay a lovely part of the world and the hot tub was amazing.
🥰 i wish we could have stayed an extra night, and our dog loved it too!
Thank you to your dad what lovely welcome 🤗
- Leonardo (9/5): Superb -
- Emma-leigh (10/5): cosy, comfy and more than enjoyable. - We absolutely loved the hot-tub and the uniqueness of it, and the log burner inside was just as cosy. The marshmallows to roast over the fire was such a cute touch. We were celebrating our anniversary and were met with a lovely bottle of Prosecco and a box of chocolates which made it extra special. Being awoken by the cows too is actually a nice touch surprisingly, it was a wonderful area and nice stay!!
- Elvita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning, peaceful secluded location. Surprising how wonderfully remote it felt despite only being a few minutes drive from Oswestry. Cosy accommodation, comfy bed nice deck to sit out on. Watching the night sky and early morning sun from the hot tub was sublime. Worth knowing that there isn't a tap or sink. Perfect for a single night. We got a takeaway but we're a little stumped for how to wash our plates or coffee things before heading off.
Wouldn't put me off coming back though as the location was just wonderful.
- Andy (6/5): It's a shed with a bed, but slept pretty well - Owners very helpful, friendly and quick to reply to queries.
Only a few minutes to Oswestry and various tourist sites.
Plenty of logs and kindling and firelighters provided. We took our own fire pit and disposable bbqs, would recommend people to do the same. Very rough drive up to the property for small cars, wouldn't dare to try it in the dark.
Could do with something like a mini fridge or a cool box to store food in
- Amanda (9/5): Hidden Gem - Beautiful, owners so lovely and kind. Hot tub amazing.. gorgeous place. No shelter for outside cooking, bed quite uncomfortable
- John (10/5): Relaxing break - Beautiful location excellent value for money
- Morgan (10/5): Absolutely wonderful! - Lovely location to relax and a be surrounded by nature and cows. The hot tub was lovely and relaxing. Can’t fault a thing about it! The hosts were absolutely fantastic and helpful! Nothing at fault of the hosts but I struggled to get up the path to the location in my car as it’s a bit steep.
- Jade (10/5): Absolutely perfect we will certainly be returning - It was so peaceful and such a lovely place to stay, the hot tub was perfect and ready for us when we arrived. The staff left us to it and were super helpful with anything we needed
- Bartlomiej (10/5): Exceptional - great place, nice owner, as we sat in the hot tub we were surrounded by cows. I recommend this place and we will go back there again.
- Jamie (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - The hot tub was a fantastic addition to the stay, views were beautiful. the host’s were friendly and helpful.
- Anthony (1/5): Disappointed - Tranquil spot.
Mini log burner with hotplate Left this place after 20 minutes of arriving as much of the accommodation did not resemble anything like the pictures nor the description presented on booking.com.
While we were well aware of the simple nature of the accomodation, and more than happy with that approach; nonetheless there should always be a basic standard of comfort and cleanliness. And especially given the reasonsbly high cost of a one night stay.
The property looked neglected; the decking area was very dirty with a green mould covering most of it. There was a heavily charred pile of barbecue utensils and bucket that had obviously been cast aside as they were all well beyond usable.
The door curtains were dirty and mouldy around the bottom, and there were patches of damp around skirting boards.
The toilet was of the sawdust variety. Once again, this would have been OK if it was clean and the door could be closed properly from the inside. Likewise, to have to walk through a muddy patch to use said facility - particularly in the dark - is both unacceptable and potentially dangerous.
This is basic eco accommodation with one socket for electricity which powers the bedside lamp. There is no sink with running water on the premises, and the shower does not have a privacy screen around it.
While we are dog lovers we do not wish to sleep with the aroma of wet dog.
Furthermore, when raining the cabin can only be accessed on foot from a parking area approximately
200 metres away, requiring you to walk through longish wet grass and yet more mud.
We were deeply disappointed, and compared to previous pod experiences, it will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
- James (6/5): Great location for campers/hikers - Scenery was lovely, wood provided, bath was very warm, very helpful and friendly people, lake close by, animals everywhere, fire pit provided. Had happy birthday banners, balloons and prosecco for Mrs, and well insulated. Location was great too. Didn't like the toilet, was very slanted forward and full of cobwebs and spiders, shower was cold. Other than that everything was great.
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Brown (10/5): Lovely retreat - What a lovely place to stay at. Owners were all friendly and helpful. Very pieceful really relaxing retreat. Just hear the wildlife and all the stresses and strains of hectic life just disappear and you feel yourself relaxing. We will definitely be back.
- Sian (10/5): Would stay again - Beautiful location and very relaxing. The hot tub was a lovely addition and we had plenty of wood and firelighters provided. Very friendly owners as well. Would definitely stay again!
- Rhiannon (8/5): Very good -
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - Everything was clean and welcoming. Location was beautiful and so peaceful. Really nice chatting to the farmer on site. Nothing at all we really enjoyed are stay .
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely peaceful setting the right place to chill and enjoy nature. Hot tub was lovely thank you to the kind Farmer David top man will definitely come again
- Sam (8/5): Lovely stay really enjoyed. The hosts were friendly and helpful - It was cosy with lots of extra touches like Prosecco left for us and tea bags etc
The hot tub was boiling as the hosts warmed it before we got there and the bed was really comfy The outdoor shower
The drive up the track which wasn’t great for my low car
- Victoria (8/5): Outdoor hot tub - The highlight was the hot tub in the beautiful rural location. The hot tub takes a while to heat up. The owners will start it for you but obviously it will get cold if you don’t arrive on time.
- James (10/5): Really loverly veiws excellent stay very clean - Was fantastic clean
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emilija (10/5): If you want to get away and relax in a beautiful and peaceful location, this is a place for it! - Everything was exactly what we wanted for a great weekend away (especially the hot tub)! Nothing
- Big (10/5): Brilliant, well worth the money. - Log cabin and hot tub was spot on was in the beautiful rural countryside, its nice views while taking a dip in the tub . The host was very helpful to. 10/10.. Nothing
- Aaron (5/5): Passable - Was a nice location and the hot bath was nice The situation of the hut was in a working farmers field so had to walk through mud and water to get to the hut. The toilet was in a hut to the side of the sleeping area which you had to walk through mud as no stone or decking infront of the entrance. No heating or electricity it was a power pack you had to use..... the room it's self was just a bed so after going in the hot bath you struggled to have space to dry off ect. Also no lights outside just solar ones which are very dim. Might be better if it was in the summer month's
- Val (10/5): Exceptional -
