- James (9/5): A delightful history-rich property that is both very comfortable and interesting to explore. - The property is very unusual and boasts a long and varied history making it a special place to stay at. It is a cosy, comfortable and interesting place. The dining table is secluded in the bar/music room and this makes it less usable.

- Rob (9/5): Comfort in a Victorian stable. - Property was a well restored old stone building. Very cosy and smelt of fresh wood. Bathroom was good blend of modern and old. Kitchen was very well equipped and plenty of workspace. Bed was very comfy and the aircon was enough to keep it cosy on a cool night.
- Jen (10/5): I absolutely loved my stay here! I stayed 2 nights for a solo getaway! I loved having the fire on at night, reading my b - The property was beautiful, in a nice quiet street. Nothing.

- Karen (9/5): Cosy and Quaint Singles and Couples Retreat - The location is like a little suburb close to wide open spaces. The lodgings were lovely and quaint. A music room with a bar, lounge and kitchen combo, bathroom was big and the shower was really big. The bed was comfy and there was a choice of pillows. There is an outside area which is covered and has a large table, there was also a fire pit with a couple of chairs. Plenty of wood if you want to use it. Excellent instructions on how everything works. Completely fenced it so its safe for your pet which you are allowed to bring! Cant think of anything. Internet was a bit dodgy but that's not anyone's fault.
- June (10/5): A short stop over, and how I hated to leave this little piece of heaven in Littlehampton, SA - this is an exceptional B&B. Every detail for travellers is catered for. How lucky am I to find such a dwelling The amenities that left nothing to be desired. Everywhere you turn your needs are catered for.
- Jo (10/5): Great for a romantic weekend. - Such a romantic place to stay. Very secure and very comfortable Couldn’t fault a thing.
- Ian (10/5): - Small warm and cozy Close to everything you need
- Emily (8/5): Comfortable & relaxing. Quiet location. Unique & quirky. Welcoming hosts. - Quirky accommodation. Warm - despite an extremely cold weekend. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bed. Lovely fireplace with plenty of wood. Great to have access to paid TV. Welcoming hosts. Freezer needed a clean. Full dog poo bag on the back step. Would prefer dogs weren’t allowed at the accommodation as I have allergies so had some mild reactions when there - probably wouldn’t have booked that location if I knew in advance. BBQ was filthy. Was planning on having a BBQ until we saw its condition. Was warm but we had to have the fire going all day to really warm the house which wouldn’t be great if you were out all day. Really needed some curtains or blinds on the lounge/kitchen area. Felt a bit exposed at night & heat just went straight out. Blinds in bedroom were also basically see-through so sunlight woke us up each morning.
- Kate (9/5): What a cute and quaint little property! - The hosts accommodated our stay with a later check in and the place was spotless. There was a welcome note with instructions which was also handy and the heating was amazing in the middle of winter. Would definitely stay here again.
- Dianne & Garry (10/5): Excellent Property - Excellent property cosy and comfortable home . Great location and nice touches. Owners kept us up to date .
- Sharryn (10/5): Definitely worth booking! - Beautifully appointed old stables, plenty of fire wood. A beautiful bottle of red wine on our arrival, very quiet considering it’s in a town area.
The most amazing pizza place, GIO’s delivered to our door. Lovely comfortable bed. Nothing
- Danni (10/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house, great location the hosts Tim and Julia are lovely. We are looking at going back next year
- Jon (10/5): a rustic home with some many creature comforts - it was a beautiful neat place that had such rustic charm and was renovated well to really capture the masonry work and timber features.
comfy as could be to just relax and enjoy some wine. couldn’t fault anything
- Danae (9/5): Superb - Pretty much everything, Very cosy, the kitchen and shower/bathroom made it feel very homely. A heater in the master bedroom would be nice. The electric blanket was fantastic but getting out of bed in the morning would've been nicer with a room heater.
- Audrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ingrid (10/5): Wonderful reprieve from the generic hotel room! - We loved the feel of this property. It felt like we were in someone’s home. Plenty of kitchen equipment, extra bath towels, barbecue, and lovely seating outside. The little history pictures of the building are wonderful and I would love to know more about the property. The tack room delightful and we loved the records and player. This is a gem, unique and worth the trip. Bed so comfy!! Fireplace and fire pit- excellent and a good supply of wood. Real plants, fresh flowers, plenty of reading material and books in the lounge area!! A no fuss arrival and departure was also refreshing.
Bathroom / kitchen a little dated but this in no way detracts from the overall feel of the property, adding the charm and age of the property, and all perfect working order. Shower good and powerful. Loved it here, could have stayed longer😟☺️.

- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): A piece of paradise in the Adelaide Hills, highly recommend - The location is beautiful, very quiet pretty road with Tim and Jules being across the road, giving us some excellent recommendations about the area and wineries. The rooms are beautifully done the bed is extremely comfortable and the stables are bigger than expected from the photos. Our hosts have thought of everything and also included some lovely extras. We lit the fire inside which was gorgeous, the music room is a fabulous space and also the outdoor area. You can’t go wrong booking Tara Stables it’s an absolute delight. We hope to return, would liked to have stayed longer! Nothing at all
- Terry (10/5): Would definitely stay again - An Amazing place Nothing

- Cassandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leslie (10/5): Modern Rustic - So very cosy and rustic, yet fully modernised. Great space and comfortable bed. Loved it! Our first impression was Wow, Wow, Wow, we've hit the jackpot, better than the photos. This would be a perfect place to spend a few days in the hills, could cook for yourself and eat in front of the fire. Tim and Jules have done a magnificent job.
- Cassandra (10/5): Exceptional -

Very comfortable, vinyl records and player provided for some background tunes and enjoyed the relaxed feel.
- Angela (9/5): Very comfortable - Rustic and quaint Nothing
- Rick (10/5): As stated above - Peaceful, private, pristine cleanliness and a lot of old world charm. Very handy location to wineries, breweries and the lovely Harndorf village N/A
- Ebony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (10/5): Home away from home, we will be back! - Our welcome to Tara Stables was fabulous from the moment we pulled into the driveway. Inside we were met with a homely feeling. Tim and Jules had left us juice, milk , eggs, bread , cheese and crackers to get us started. This was appreciated and set the tone for the rest of our stay. The bed was super comfortable and rain head shower was fantastic. We found the location to be perfect for all our travel- central to most things we had planned. Very quiet location as well nestled amongst what seemed a friendly street with beautiful flora and fauna. No air conditioning in main bedroom- we had 40+ temperatures and struggled to sleep with only fan. My partner slept on the couch in lounge area under the air con and found it super comfortable so that helped. The weather was really up and down- only disappointed we didn’t get to use the fireplace as it would be cosy. White rocks along entrance didn’t allow to pull suitcase so had to carry. These were very minor issues, otherwise nothing to fault.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - We loved this place. So much attention to detail and the place is huge. Music room is an awesome touch.
Highly recommend this place. Nothing
- Rob (10/5): It was a great stay, the accommodation was terrific! -
- Dr (10/5): Phenomenal place! Luxury and character. And: Pet friendly! - Fabulous property with plenty of space, all amenities you might need, including washer and a nice vinyl record player (!). But most of all we liked that this property had such a lot of character. I personally felt at home immediately. Nice furniture, books, TV and even a Leonard Cohen record for the vinyl player in the lounge area :-)
Being greeted with a loaf of fresh bread and a hand written notice from the owners was the icing on the cake. Really outstanding!
On top of it all, the place is pet friendly and allowed us to take our dog along. We really just regretted to be alone as a couple with our dog in such a big property. I am not sure if it would actually sleep a larger family - the facilities are for sure sufficient to keep multiple people entertained.
But really, this is only a point I mention because I needed to come up with a critical comment :-) We would have happily stayed longer, but it was not available for our entire Christmas holiday.
- Kristen (10/5): Exceptional - A little slice of heaven! You can’t go wrong booking this place! We had a beautiful warm welcome from the owner, they gave us dinner recommendations it really felt like home away from home!
- Alison (8/5): Lovely - gorgeous rustic property and super comfortable - Loved the rustic features
- Tracie (9/5): Fabulous stay! - Very comfortable and convenient Nothing! It was all good
- Snow (7/5): Good - Air con could have been turned in prior to occupancy
- Lyn (9/5): Superb - Very quaint, quiet and comfortable. Exceptionally spacious for a couple and loved the record player. Some breakfast provisions would have been nice. Some reviews mentioned sour dough and nibbles but there was only some cereal and milk and a few pods of coffee. I should have checked with the owners as everything was there as far as cooking facilities.
- Jennifer (10/5): Best accommodation on our holiday. - Brilliant kitchen facilities and great dining room - yes a whole proper dining room! Fabulous market shop not far away - great to have a home cooked meal. Bathroom was fabulous and the bedroom superb. The entire place was large - so good. Nothing - it all exceeded expectations.
- Auke (9/5): Superb -
- Leeann (10/5): Perfect quiet location awesome rustic old world charm. Love love loved this place - Everything. This property was awesome and exceeded expectations. - Debra (9/5): Cosy and comfortable stay in peaceful surroundings. Good place to chill! - Spacious. Enjoyed the music room. Bed was comfortable and Shower good. Late checkout was great. ( at no extra charge) . Wood burning fire was lovely. Oldtime, rustic feel made for a cosy stay( stone walls, etc). Parking on Premises handy. Would have liked access to a radio. Housekeeping could have been a bit better
- Adelaide (10/5): Charming and very spacious retreat - Beautiful, very spacious and charming home near the many wineries of the Adelaide Hills. The interiors were beautiful including stone walls, and the bed / lounges were very comfortable. Good shower as well!
The check in and check out process was very easy and our hosts were ready to provide recommendations and guidance about the local area.
We only wish we could have spent more time there.
- Giovanni (10/5): Charming getaway - The communication with Julia and Tim was really easy and friendly. We were so delighted to discover the property, what a beautiful place. It felt so warming and welcoming as soon as you open the door. the dining area with the record player was a great touch. The kitchen was well appointed. The bathroom was very clean, charming and it was a very nice shower. We really would have loved to stay longer and properly talk with Julia and Tim about the history behind the stables. We had to leave very early in the morning but would have loved lazing around. Even though it was not a very cold night, we got to have the fire place working and Tim had also offered us to lit it before our arrival. The garden is secure, so perfect for our dog too. Location is actually really good as it is close to a lot of attractions in the Adelaide Hills. It was the perfect place to unwind. We loved every bits of the place.
- Damien (10/5): a wonderful place for a quite get away or to enjoy the surrounding area - The way the stables are set out with great decor and little nick knacs, great facilites in side and out,
and lovely location nothing

- Fielder (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arlene (10/5): It absolutely exceeded our expectations! - Everything Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Short and sweet 🥰 - The place was absolutely gorgeous, house, location. Only thing is that I didn't realize the hot water was controlled by a switch (my bad) 😁
- Susannah (7/5): Loved staying here but breakfast provisions would have been nice. - Very comfortable. Loved the firepit.
The shower was awesome. I think that the supplying of breakfast provisions would have been nice so that in the morning I could have had at least a piece of toast and a glass of juice.
Ali's maybe supply bottled water.
There was only one coffee pod which was disappointing.
So I'd supply some bread, water, juice and condiments. Nothing too fancy.
- Melanie (10/5): Excellent -
- Kathryn (7/5): Great value, and cosy atmosphere - Bedroom was fabulous and the cost fire which was lit before we arrived Could do with a little updating as in decoration in kitchen/bathroom
- Fionamckay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alana (9/5): Superb -
- Pavel (9/5): Beautiful, comfortable and cosy place with good hosts - This place has unique charm and character. Fire place, plenty of wood. To play a couple of vinyl disks was something absolutely fantastic! None
- Carl (10/5): Perfectly relaxing, just what we needed for a quiet weekend away. Thank you - The cottage is quaint, and has everything we needed for our stay. The indoor wood burner was perfect and we enjoyed the firepit out doors too. We had a beautiful relaxing stay. Nothing
