• Freeflychick (7/5): Nice room with garden view - Super convenient for my work trip and close to station. Comfy bed nice space separate shower room. Bonus cuddles from Maggie and house cat. The bedroom door has a large glass panel which is part opaque, The area where the room is away from the main house, although the off the passage to the garden, I just felt uneasy trying to sleep with the glass door. I hung my coat on the back of the door. The owner or someone in the house must smoke and you can smell smoke from the owners areas. Blind at the patio doors doesn't cover the entire door, it was fine on my visit as still dark when I woke up although in summer daylight hours I don't think it will keep light out. Curtains would be great. Proper bedside light would be great
• David (10/5): - A very friendly & comfortable stay with convenient shops & restaurants nearby. Access to kitchen for hot beverages & instant porridge for breakfast. Generous shortbread & bottled water also provided. Good shower. In the morning saved about 20 minutes from here in Kenley accessing M25 rather than via the slower road through Purley & Coulsdon.

Pond cottage is absolutely wonderful, the room is very comfortable and private.. thehint of vintage makes this place incredibly warm and creates a feeling like you're home away from home.. 11/10
• Sharon (9/5): Lovely! - Bernadette is the sweetest and most attentive host. And Maggie is the very best mascot! Close to Purley, and easy to get public transport. There aren’t really good places to eat in Kenley, but Purley is close and has lots of nice places.
• Frank (8/5): Een aangenaam verblijf in een ideale omgeving. - Een heel vriendelijke gastvrouw. Ideale ligging om Londen te verkennen: treinstation is relatief dichtbij. Ook ideaal om landhuizen, kastelen, ... in de ruime buurt te ontdekken. Locatie ligt in de LEZ / ULEZ zone. Indien je met de wagen komt, moet je dus de nodige administratie hiervoor regelen bij de overheid.

• Sidney (7/5): Prima verblijf gehad voor een nacht, niet goedkoop. - Vriendelijk ontvangst. Nette en schone kamer. Geen eigen ingang, de badkamer gescheiden van de kamer. Hierdoor mis je wat privacy. De (zeer vriendelijke) eigenaresse is een dierenliefhebber. Persoonlijk heb ik er niet zo veel mee, maar je word er wel mee geconfronteerd. Ook word je geconfronteerd met veel spullen van de eigenaresse wat het geheel een beetje rommelig maakt. De foto’s en de omschrijving hebben mij wat op het verkeerde been gezet.

The room was VERY hot after a hot day. The 'Cottage' title is a bit misleading as it is located opposite a council estate, which is fine, but not what i expected.

• Ann (10/5): Perfect stay outside London - We loved staying with Bernie she is such a lovely person. We stayed at Pond Cottage for just over 6 weeks and everything was perfect. When we arrived Bernie had put lots of treats in our room, crisps, nuts Prosecco etc it was a lovely surprise. She also supplied us with slippers and high quality dressing gowns. We stayed in the downstairs room which had a private bathroom just outside. There’s a room clean and change of sheets every week included in the price. Bernie provides kitchen cupboard and fridge space, the kitchen/dining area is shared. There’s Netflix and tv provided in the room and a PIN number for sky which we didn’t use. We adored Bernie’s pets - Maggie the dog is so friendly and cuddly. Secco and Maysa are the cats who are adorable too. If you love animals this is the place for you. If you don’t like animals Bernie will keep them out of your way. Bernie is the perfect host and we loved staying with her. I’d recommend Pond Cottage to anyone for a short or long term stay. We had the best time thank you so much Bernie.

• Cormac (10/5): Above and beyong our expectations! Comfortable, clean and charming! - Our host was very friendly and accommodating. She was very understanding that we needed to check in quite late at night due to a funeral we were attending. There was some much room, use of the kitchen, snacks were available and the bedroom and bathroom exceptionally clean and comfortable! Location to Purley station was perfect. I cannot think of anything that could have been improved - it was an excellent stay - and would stay there again when I'm next visiting family in the area!

Plenty of snacks and a lovely bowl of fruit were left in our room on arrival. The bedroom door and bathroom doors were very stiff and need easing, that’s all I could fault.

Bernadette the host, was amazing and went out of her way to make my stay a good one. Choices from shower or bath down to nuts or crisps or all of them. I will definitely stay again. Nothing

Pond Cottage is well located - close to transport and Purley Village has all the tourist amenities. I stayed at this Cottage at the start and end to my trip all the way from Australia because it is so good. No issues whatsoever. To the the Booking.com team: I noticed that some answers to the bonus questions default to Bad for some reason. This was not the case at all for my wonderful stay at Pond Cottage.

• Laurence (9/5): Comfortable Relaxing Cottage Room -Very Restful - My stay was excellent - comfortable bed, telly with many viewing options, fast Wifi, kitchen to make meals, very quiet location. Huge Tesco nearby, train station + buses easy access, many local eateries in Purley Village. Very friendly & accommodating hostess called "B" for Bernadette. Her little dog "Maggie" topped off the welcome I felt. I have no complaints

Bottles of water, fruit, nuts, chocolate in the room made for some lovely touches. Couldn’t recommend enough and would happily stay again. There is also the cutest dog and a relaxing pond to sit beside with your morning coffee! Two train stations nearby with a quick route to London Bridge in just over 20 min at £9 for a single! That I didn’t stay longer

• Kathryn (8/5): I really enjoyed it! - The room was cosy, comfortable and very clean. A nice touch was the vase of daffodils. It is a quiet location and was near the venue I was attending. I had a warm welcome from the owner and felt very well looked after there and safe, as a woman travelling alone. I don’t really eat breakfast but I there was a lovely goody basket in my room so I could eat the fruit and use the kitchen to make drinks. The power shower was great and the bathroom was well equipped. I would recommend it.
