Guest Reviews
- Paul (10/5): - The house was small, compact, and had a lovely cosy feel to it. The location was great—only about a 15-minute walk to the main shopping areas. The host was very friendly and easy to get in contact with, which made the stay even smoother. The only downside was figuring out how to use the heating system. We had to check YouTube to understand it, but once we got the hang of it, it was easy to use.
Overall, a great stay and would recommend!

- Dean (10/5): - The house was spotlessly clean and a very smooth check in. N/A
- Tighearnach (5/5): -
- Tanaka (8/5): Short and sweet family stay - It was very spacious and clean and cozy. The bathroom was clean. Kitchen was spotless.
- Dean (9/5): - Spacious, lots of amenities, good location. Only small hiccup was we messaged the host three times and didn’t get a response until 4 hours later. It wasn’t an urgent issue, but a little inconvenient.
- Louise (8/5): Very enjoyable :) - It was a lovely clean house. Nothing!
- John (10/5): Pleasant two nights in Derry. - Modern bungalow in a quiet area. Good shower and modern appliances. Very comfortable rooms. Spotlessly clean.
- Naomi (10/5): Comfortable, clean, great location - Perfect for a family, well equipped, comfortable, brilliant location. Helpful host
- Mary (4/5): - Bathroom. The photos are not a reflection of what this property is actually like. The property was not cleaned properly. There were cobwebs on the ceiling & walls in the bedrooms, cushions in bed & sofa not clean. There was a musty smell in the property & when you opened cupboards in the kitchen, there was a musty smell & cutlery/dishes were not cleaned & smelled. There is no kitchen table & chairs or dishwasher. TV in the sitting room had no channels & didn't take a firestick. Half of the party went home after first night. This was very disappointing given I spent £440 for 2 nights. Extremely overpriced for a property of this standard & I would not recommend this property.

- Heather (1/5): Horrific! - The location was ideal for meeting up with family. The property itself is dated, the garden overgrown and the kitchen had a very damp smell that not only lingered in the cupboards but also all the cups and glasses that were stored upside down inside the cupboard. Not what is expected. We ended up enduring a terrifying encounter with a neighbour who bashed on the window of the front bedroom waking up my child also on the door. I was verbally abused not only by the man who lives opposite but was then confronted by two very aggressive and abusive women who claim to have had enough of the house being used as a party house (our party consisted of myself, my husband, daughter (9) and Mother in Law (83) we are not in the way of renting a “party house” the names and insults I endured in hindsight probably warranted the Police being contacted but we were just glad to get away from this house of horrors and even more horrific neighbours! Be warned this is not for the faint hearted!

- Emma (7/5): Great Bungalow once you have got up the steps. - Able to park outside easily. Walking distance of the centre of Derry - provided you can do hills. Very close to the train station. Suitable for a short stay. It was August but the house felt cold and we had to put the heating on in the evenings. Instructions on how to do this would have been helpful. Still no lock on toilet door as mentioned by previous guests. None of the clocks were working and needed new batteries.
- Lai Mei (9/5): - It's very clean. We felt comfortable there. The property is good, and we always got a quick response.
- Charlie (9/5): A pleasant wee find tucked away in Derry/LDerry, a wee short 10 minute walk across the peace bridge to the City itse - On pulling up to the property I was nervous due to its appearance from the outside. However, The property was clean, well presented and loved by the gang. Exceptional interior A wee pointing milk on arrival in the fridge would have given a 10/10 rating
- Niall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (8/5): Very good - Everything was perfect except for the beds which were extremely uncomfortable ! Everything was perfect but all the beds/mattresses are terrible !
You can actually feel the coils in the mattress sticking into you !
- Joanne (6/5): Not suitable for a family of 4 - Location, beds were comfortable. Seating in front room. One seat felt like it would break, so we couldn’t sit together. Kitchen seating not suitable for a family of 4. We found some additional temporary seating and table out in the garage part on the last day. The roof was leaking in the kitchen.
Quite cold as well. But overall all we couldn’t sit together in any space in the house together.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Bertrand (7/5): Good - No staff air bnb Nothing
- Doherty (9/5): Superb -
- Antoinette (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely house, host very helpful. 10 minutes walk to centre.

- Jordan (8/5): Very good -
- Olivier (9/5): Good place near from all facilities. -
- Ian (9/5): Superb - 2 out of the 3 beds are very uncomfortable - we could feel every spring. Apart from that, the accommodation was in a great location and the hosts were very helpful.
- Searlain (8/5): Lovely clean and perfectly situated for us. Bit uncomfortable - Great location for what we needed. All interior design was lovely but not comfortable. Interior was lovely but very uncomfortable beds/sofas etc. Toilet door has no lock at all. Doors all hav large gaps under them. Less privacy etc due to that.
- Mick (10/5): Exceptional - Nothing all was Great
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlin (10/5): 100% Recommend! - It was absolutely lovely inside, great location absolutely everything we needed!
I also left a ring behind and they were so kind to find it and post it to me. They were so friendly to deal with.
100% would recommend staying here! Have nothing to complain about was 10/10
- Wayne (10/5): Great stay - House was perfect for 4 of us, parking on street outside the house was always available. 10 min walk into the city shops and restaurants nearby. Great communication from Shane and was always on hand to answer any questions we had. Well located and very clean, highly recommend this property.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Notting
- Bickerstaff (8/5): Very good - House was beautifully decorated with comfy beds and bedding. Varden house is in a great location with shops takeaways a few bars and a taxi depot just a few minutes walk away. The main shopping/bars and restaurants is only a 15/20 minutes walk so fab location for those who like to explore on foot. It's January so the house was quite cold and took a long time to heat up and as we had two older ladies with us they we're feeling the cold more than most ppl would. Maybe if the heating was set for an hour or so before arrival it wouldn't have been so bad, just a thought for other guests during the winter months.
- Lynsey (10/5): Love our stay clean spacious and great value for money -
- Ryan (8/5): Great location, great host, would stay again - Very modern, excellent location, great host who was very responsive to questions, had everything we needed and more lots of space and my kids especially loved the hatch between the kitchen and the living room! Extremely cold on arrival, couch very uncomfortable, beds not the best
- Murnion (8/5): Very good - Needs a lock on bathroom door
- Mccolgan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niall (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (7/5): Good -
- Curry (4/5): Disappointing -
- Claire (7/5): Great family accommodation - A great place to base yourself. Lovely styles throughout. Had everything you would need. We had trouble trying to find the address and unfortunately didn’t get a confirmation email with our codes and stay information.
- Aoife (8/5): Lovely Stay in Derry - Location not too bad - about a 15/20min walk to the city.
Lovely decor and the heating worked well. Beds were super comfy! Kitchen facilities were useful.
Helpful to have a highchair, cot and washing machine. The windows are paper thin! This meant a lot of noise from the street, and also quite cold. Thankfully it was quiet in the evenings (mostly) and the heat boost worked well.
- Shane (9/5): Good spot for a stay to see county Derry and the walled city - The location to the walled city was great. Free street parking was also good. Lovely quiet street which meant good rest at night. Could use more storage especially in the kitchen. A dish rack would also be good. Some instructions on how to turn on water heater and lock the door would be good as well
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Muthukumaar (3/5): Poor - The location of the house is very close to the downtown and plenty of cafes that offer good breakfast nearby Starting from the door there were a lot of cobwebs outside the house and inside we could find hair all over the beds
- Bella (10/5): 5* Clean & Cosy House. close to tourist attractions - The house was very clean & cosy! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Derry . Close to tourist Attractions. The host is only a message away if you need help or advice with anything. My nephew loved the garden too . Many thanks for an enjoyable stay! ☘️

- Duffy (10/5): This property is exceptional - standard of finish & space is incredible - just blew us away!! - The kitchen facilities were exceptional. Cleanliness of the property was outstanding. beds were extremely comfortable and our host left lots of towels for use. Cannot praise this place enough a real hidden gem! Very central and safe - 5 stars definitely for this property - will definitely book again. There was nothing negative I can say about this property - It was so gorgeous I only wished I was staying longer!!
- Kerry (10/5): Clean, comfortable and accessible to all amenities - Spotlessly clean, modern and up to date and everything you needed for a self catering stay. Central to town and very quiet, yet historical area. On a very narrow residential street so drive carefully
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
