Guest Reviews
- Angela (8/5): - The bed was really comfy The noise from the trucks going through the night. I am a light sleeper and wear earplugs, but at times it felt like the truck was in the room with me.
- ZHILI (10/5): Recommend - This old hotel truly grows old with grace. Stylish decor, full of character – you can feel the owner's passion. Shared bathroom but spotlessly clean. Perfect for our group of six. Hope it stays forever – we would love to come back. Nothing
- Raelene (10/5): We had a lovely peaceful stay - The breakfast was very nice. There was a lot of choices and plentiful. The interior was beautiful. Nothing that I didn't like.
- Max 39 (10/5): WONDERFUL RESTORED OLD HOTEL - EXCELLENT

- WALTER (7/5): - A comfortable spot to stay on your way from Albany to Perth. With a very friendly owner-operater in a very quiet WA small town.
- Menno (10/5): - The whole inside of the building is created with such an incredible taste and style. Beautiful. Nothing
- Eleonor (10/5): Personligt och charmigt - Charmigt ställe och en oerhört trevlig värdinna. Allt var toppen.

- Richards (10/5): Will definitely stay here again - Beautiful restored hotel. Great hospitality.
- Fizzerfox (10/5): -
- Brian (9/5): Great accommodation in out-of-the-way location - Lovingly restored 110 year-old hotel with lots B of character; lots of street parking; complimentary breakfast included. Nothing

- Heath (10/5): -
- Luke (10/5): It was great - Very nice room
- Kai Wee (9/5): Historical building with some modern day comforts, and a good breakfast to top it off. - Quiet and certain nostalgia in the way it was done up. It definitely plays into the long history of the building. The shared toilet and shower are modern and comfortable. The location of the power socket for the electric blanket was not immediately obvious.
- Squily10 (10/5): -
- Monte (10/5): - Magnificent old building undergoing tasteful renovation.
The hostess was very accommodating and looked after us very attentively.
The breakfast was well catered and the rooms decorated in European themes with a great collection of memorabilia.
Great value for a country hotel.
A hidden gem!!!
- Jennifer (9/5): It was a great find and all the upcoming improvements will give it a brighter future. - Original.
- Patti (10/5): - Everything. Hotel has been lovingly renovated. Breakfast was plentiful. Such a fantastic hotel to stay in. Nothing.
- Kirsten (10/5): Loved every minute of our stay - Cannot praise this diamond in the rough enough. I would hate to think that you could drive past this hotel and miss all the wonders inside. Kerry is an amazing host and so passionate about her business. My husband and I were on our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed two nights in the Suite. The hospitality was amazing and we have nothing but happy memories to share with our family and friends. We have recommended to all. Looking forward to our next WA holiday, and will definitely stay again. Best mattress of 3 week holiday, like sleeping on a cloud.
- Kirsten (10/5): - We recently had a 2 night stay at The Brookton, and it was definitely a highlight of our W.A. trip. We could have easily spent our time just exploring the hotel's decor & artwork. Kerry (and Coco & Cricket) are wonderful hosts & made us feel most welcome. Our room & the facilities were well maintained & immaculately clean.
It was a delight to share in Kerry's passion & her vision for the future ... we eagerly await more Facebook updates!
And not to forget the delicious pizzas that Kerry shared with all us weary travellers ... a perfect way to unwind after a busy day"
- Kerrie (10/5): Perfect stopover - The Brookton is a hidden gem with so much character and uniqueness. The effort that the owners have put into restoring this hotel is amazing. The rooms were large and comfortable and the newly refurbished bathrooms luxurious. The breakfast was fabulous and the host Kerry went above and beyond to ensure all guests were catered for. Would highly recommend.
- Helen (10/5): - Beautifully restored. Very welcoming. Will be staying again.
- Diana (9/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful Old Building made with love - The owners have put a lot of effort into this building, yes there's a bit more to be done, for the balcony area, but that's minimal. Everything is so neat and well looked after.
Even has a lift, as the stairs are a bit steep, but that's how the building was made. It's awesome having a lift if the stairs are too much. Everything was perfect.
Even supplied breakfast in a beautiful dining room
Well done to the owners
I definitely recommend this place.
I'll be returning
If only I took photos 📸

- Tim (10/5): - What a gem - Simone and I arrived after the town shut down and were treated to some awesome left over Lamb Shank stew and a few bottles of wine by the owner - who felt a little sorry for us. What an absolutely amazing discovery :) Could not fault our stay here at all - we were incredibly well looked after and will definitely return

- Niamh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (5/5): Passable - We were driving from Perth to Esperance and were looking for a place to break the journey. We had very few options, and this was route. Not really catering for tourists, more a guest house for crew men in the area.
- Richard (7/5): I will be returning! - Homely feel to the interior. Love the dogs! A little dated, although its been made as comfortable as possible and with thiughtful attention to detail.
- Cherie (10/5): Would go back again - Everything it was a joy to stay at. The hospitality was excellent
- John (8/5): Very pleasant stay with a kind and genial owner. - Kerry met us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. She showed us around and explained all the renovations she has done and is planning. We had to leave early in the morning so the self-service breakfast was a terrific bonus for us.
- Kelsey (6/5): Pleasant -
- Christine (7/5): Good -
- Robert (9/5): Relaxed overnight stay in interesting surrounds. - Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Cleanliness of all areas. Modern refurbished shared bathrooms which provided individual privacy. Unique themed decor through out. A lift was helpful in carrying luggage to the second floor bedroom.
Light breakfast was appreciated. nothing
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giselle (8/5): perfect - only stayed one night as a pit stop to esperance. Lovely landlady who made our short stay perfect
- Ballaratgirl (10/5): Fantastic stay - Character filled hotel undergoing a revival. Beautiful rooms, can't wait to see the finished product. Town was quite small, and not much to see.

- Veronica (9/5): Broke the trip home. - Continent breakfast was sufficient
- Joerg (10/5): A charming old place that has been given new life! - This turned out to be one of those places where you enter with no special expectations at all and leave with a sad feeling of having to part! - The owner, Kerry, did such a wonderful job in turning what was one of many old hotels you can find all over the country into one of a kind experience! You can feel all the love she put into this house, into every little detail from the new lift leading up to the 1st floor to the magnificently decorated breakfast room! If I knew I would have stayed longer! - Next time!
- Connor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grant (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel has been lovingly restored, and we stayed in the suite. The suite was from another nostalgic era. Very comfortable and spacious. The door to get in is tricky.
- Tom (3/5): Poor -
- Pritchard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie-ann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): I can't wait until the renovation is complete. I'd love to stay again, then. It should be amazing. - I just needed a place to sleep. I didn't need any fancy, expensive trappings. The mattress could have been a bit firmer.
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent, thank you Kerry, 'Cricket and Coco' too, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - It is close to the town centre and facilities (all just a short walk), has a welcoming and informative host (Kerry), and is spotlessly clean and efficiently run. There are new ablution facilities, and it is wonderfully decorated and cozy.
- Gazbert (7/5): Unexpected Gem
💎 - The Brookton was an unexpected gem.
Kerry (owner) is a person with a great vision for her period (1915) property, which is a feast for the eyes.
It's is a place I would love to revisit, to see the completed version, for It's ambience and friendly hospitality of Kerry, Chad & guard pets. N/A

- Peter (7/5): Nice stay - Friendly host large rooms A little run down & unfortunately no ensuites bathrooms
- Renier (8/5): Very good -
- Michiel (6/5): Little overpriced room in a good location where there is little choice - A fairly good location near Dryandra woodland. Host did not give us the room we booked and told us that information on Booking was wrong. She booked us in another room that was ok. But no private bathroom. For that price I expected it. Breakfast was included which was only partially used. As we needed to leave early.
- Jarrod (10/5): 10/10, lovely host, lovely place!!! - Kerry was a fantastic host, the building g itself is beautiful, the way Kerry has decorated the place is fantastic, excellent value for money!!!

(A gin palace experience will be assured soon!)...This hotel is dog friendly and the host's dogs are absolutely beautiful! Nothing beats a welcoming at the front door from a dog that's just happy to see you! There wasn't any aspect of my stay that I could complain about!
