Guest Reviews
- Cecilia (7/5): - Lovely rural location, could hear different birds' calls, and crows were nesting in the tree nearby :-)
The sofa was particularly comfy, and the bed large. Plenty of parking available, and good wifi strength. A little unclear how to reach the actual room, as it was behind the pub. The room was very cold on arrival (but did warm up nicely when I turned on the heating)
- Williams (9/5): -
- Hannahrose13 (8/5): - Lovely local pub with great food . The communications were great. The room was clean and well equipped for a stay with children with 2 rooms, 2 double beds and tvs and eating breakfast in apartment in the morning :) Shower was a bit cold was the only minor issue
- Danielle (10/5): - Loved the location and the view, lovely and quiet, slept so well didn’t want to get up, would definitely stay again The shower isn’t that powerful and maybe have a fan in the room as it gets hot during the night
- Jill (8/5): - Everything was fine, comfy bed plus a sofa bed in living room. Parking directly outside behind the pub. Fridge, kettle, tea and coffee,. Milk in the fridge rather than pots of UHT. Just for info the pub takes last orders at 8.30pm during the week.
- Sue (10/5): Excellent just perfect for my accessibility needs - It was a convenient location for us. The room was very accessible and the bed was comfortable and the staff were very friendly
- Guest (8/5): -
- Williams (8/5): I would recommend this property - It was very nice and comfortable. It had all the facilities I needed. The bed was very comfortable Nothing
- Jennifer (8/5): A great base to stay for our toddler and us while visiting friends. Very accommodating to all our needs. - Self contained with direct outside parking. Great for limited mobility. Everything you need except for cooking facilities but the pub serves food which is behind the accommodation. Very accommodating to our families needs. I would advise arriving in daylight as our satnav took us past it and due to low lighting we missed it initially. Definitely not an issue in daylight and not any fault of the accommodation.
- jim (10/5): A very pleasant stay. - Absolutely great and restored my faith in home cooking. Five stars from us. Nowt.
- MacDonald (10/5): Excellent; just couldn’t fault it - It suited us perfectly and after a late night was good to have 11am checkout. Kaz the barmaid was particularly helpful and friendly Nothing
- Lorraine (7/5): Served its purpose, - Location, parking Basic but met the cost. Loose toilet seat, dirty cup, water left in kettle. Went to have a nightcap in the bar but it was closed 9.30pm on Saturday.
- Katherine (10/5): -
- Lynn (9/5): Blissful - Parents had pleasant stay and have mentioned they will return. Only issue was the toilet unfortunately didn't flush due to being blocked which caused slight problem when only having the one toilet use.
- Gwen (10/5): A very enjoyable stay and will come again. - The breakfast was very good. The location had a convenience shop and the village green and walks were lovely. There was nothing
- Ruth (6/5): - Pub very good. Room OK. Room very basic for amount charged.
Mattress very uncomfortable.
- Liam (10/5): Great trip. Lovely room and they were kind enough to deliver us some croissants on Christmas morning -
- Gary (10/5): -
- juliet (9/5): - Clean room close to pub Nothing
- richard (10/5): - Home from home
- Rebecca (10/5): - Everything
- Nicholas (10/5): Excellent repeat visit - Everything Nothing
- Geoffrey (8/5): Just an overnight stay whilst visiting family nearby and just what we needed, thank-you. - Good location, easy parking, friendly staff, good food and wine for dinner and an excellent breakfast.
- Marian (9/5): Highly recommended. - It was very clean and comfortable, well equipped and all the furnishings were good. An added bonus was that you had a separate bedroom and lounge - and the small refrigerator was very useful. The rooms were situated behind the pub, so it was handy for evening meals, which were very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again. There was a nice big shower cubicle, but we weren't able to get much more than lukewarm water from the shower.
- Steven (8/5): Great Accommodation, Good Location - We found the accommodation to be very comfortable ,Particularly liked the separate lounge area. Very good bed. Also liked the spacious shower and warm bathroom. Nice staff/Owner. We would definitely stay again. We found the sink in the bathroom to be quite awkward to use as it was very low to the floor ,almost knee level, also the lack of control of the heating was a bit annoying. But overall everything was good.
- Gilbert (8/5): Nice room in a quiet location with all the facilities we needed - Clean comfortable suite, with good facilities like a fridge and sofa. Plenty of tea coffee and milk. Nice quiet location at rear of the property. Good room heater too. Pillows were hard (like everywhere seems to have these days). Not a great deal of clothes hanging space
- Will (10/5): I love staying here, always a pleasure - Everything Nothing
- claire (10/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): - Sparklingly clean. Quick responses from property and easy check in and out. The staff in the pub in the evening were very friendly and efficient. Good range of affordable simple food. Would use again.
- Belinda (10/5): Nice stay well worth the money. - We’ll equip for a short stay. Reasonable price meals in the pub. Good value for money. Lovely village quiet area. Nothing
- Nicholas (10/5): Good value stay in lovely pub in quiet Norfolk village - Very quiet location. Loads of free parking. Right in the middle of the village, just a very short walk to the local shop as well.
Everything on hand, pub food was very good quality and good value. Drinks were a good range for all tastes and good value.
Kim and her staff couldn’t do enough for us, incredibly friendly, helpful always happy to go the extra mile.
Full English breakfast very good, as was the bangers and mash I had on the first night. Local sourced sausages to die for!
Our second visit this year. Already booked up our next trip in April.
All in all a lovely traditional British pub! Nothing I can think of.
- Susan (9/5): -
- David (10/5): - Comfortable clean accommodation, excellent breakfast. Excellent value for money
- Joanne (9/5): Perfect for what we needed - Comfortable bed, good shower, nice biscuits 😋, all bits and bobs we needed Nothing, no issues
- Philip (10/5): Will definitely return when the Adrian Flux Stadium puts on another Brisca F1 stock car world final - Room available even though we arrived early. Very clean and comfortable. Tea, coffee and biscuits supplied. Big comfy towels. Requested breakfast for 8.00am and was excellent. Very nice lady running the place. Absolutely nothing. Great location for our trip
- Daren (10/5): - Nice quiet good location
- amanda (8/5): Good - It was very modern and everything you would need for a short stay You could hear next door ! The weren’t loud but you hear them have a shower and moving around
- Margaret (8/5): A good place to stopver on the way to suffolk. Pleasant hostess - Breakfast wasn't included but was offered for an extra payment. However, it wasn't the best we have had but was okay. The hostess was very pleasant and was helpful is advising us where to go go for an evening meal as their kitchen had already closed for the evening The accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable. The parking was right outside and free. It was a convenient overnight stop on the way to suffolk. I can't say there was anything that we didn't like
- Matthew (10/5): Nice little gem - Very nice cozy but spacious and modern room with a lounge area and bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Parking easy. Ideal for exploring the West Norfolk area as the A10 is a few KM's away. Communication easy and breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay again when visiting the local area.
- Amanda (10/5): Was there for work but accommodation provided me with a relaxing environment. - Comfortable, exceeded expectations.
Spacious Absolutely nothing
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - It ticks every single box. Exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. The Chequers serves excellent food and drink, and the staff are friendly. A wonderful find and hope to return again soon. What's not to like !
- Susan (9/5): - Room was great, clean & spacious.
Location was perfect for our stay as close to family
- Rachael (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Thank you to Anna & Kim for making our stay truly memorable, see you again soon, Rachel & Dave. - We stayed t for two nights @ Chequers so we could attend a concert at the Sandringham Estate. Suitably located to access local attractions & beaches in the area & the pub is situated in a very picturesque quiet village with friendly & chatty local residents, who are very welcoming.
As we were out most days we did take advantage of the “hearty” full English breakfast which was beautifully cooked, hot & set us both up for the long days ahead. Also had an evening meal of Fish n Chips when we arrived & again beautifully cooked, hot, well presented & very reasonably priced too along with drinks [ thank you Anna 🙂🍺🍹👍].
Our room was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable & secure with great amenities.Fantastic power shower in a modern bathroom, extremely comfortable double bed, sofa & tv in the lounge area [ not that we were there to use it much]!!
I was also able to park my vehicle right outside our accommodation,in a secure car park at the rear of the pub.
I will definitely be staying at the Chequers in the future when visiting the area again.
- keeley (10/5): Brilliant stay! - It's such a beautiful place , ideal situated for our Sandringham gig! But start off early from here as traffic is bad on gig days. Very quiet , friendly hosts. Such a comfy bed! Loved it will be back . Comfy bed, surroundings, quiet . Food was great ate lunch there . Would definitely go back to look around local area. The couple at the accommodation were so nice nothing too much trouble loved it!
- Samantha (9/5): - Clean and very nice accommodation and good communication and customer service
- Jane (10/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): Lovely place to stay and lovely people - Very clean, quiet, spacious, plenty of parking, very accommodating to our late arrival. Nothing
- Richard (9/5): -
- John (6/5): -
- Lea (8/5): - Really good value for money, owner was very helpful and couldn't do enough for you, breakfast was lovely. Great location and nice little seating area outside of room was a nice touch. Forgot sheet to go on sofa bed matress but the owner quickly brought one across for us.
Small stain on duvet cover.
- Alison (10/5): Great half way overnight stop to weekend break. - Lovely clean rooms, comfy bed and good quality mattress on sofa bed. Nice touch to have refrigerator with water and extra milk. To be able to park and then just walk to adjoining pub for evening meal / breakfast in the morning which both were very good and value for money was a bonus. Host was very friendly and helpful with dietary requirements. Communication was excellent before arrival. Nothing.
- Mimiz (10/5): Comfortable, safe, free parking, excellent value for money - Independent little unit, has everything one needs for holiday/travel stop staying.Clean, functional, excellent WIFI,safe free parking, small fridge for cool for cooling drinks, good value for money, thank you for a pleasant overnight stay N/A
- Andy (9/5): Super duper - Lovely village pub with accommodation in 2 x nearly new units. Comfy bed. Good shower. Excellent food at dinner and breakfast. Outstanding staff. Friendly locals. It was all great
- Caroline (8/5): - Quiet location, bed very confortable. Very clean. little garden table and chair were greatly appreciated in the evening. Nothing, only suggestion would be to add some plant to make a separation from the car park and between the rooms.
- M.Palma (10/5): - Great self check in
Lovely space , all perfectly functioning. Tea coffee and cookies. Water in the fridge.
Pub staff really kind and available, served some food even after closing kitchen time. Nothing bad to report
- Susan (10/5): Would stay again - Couldn’t fault The only small issue was it would have been nice to have had a fan in the bedroom as it was unbearably hot.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Marian (8/5): Welcoming and ideal for my purposes would recommend - Nice quiet room in lovely location ideal for a host of different people whether holiday or work The shower could have been a bit more powerful but that’s a minor issue and was quite acceptable as it was.
- carol (10/5): -

- bevan (8/5): -
- Wright (8/5): Comfortable stay - Very comfortable and secluded , great place to relax. Food and drinks was very nice and very respectful prices.lovely staff to very helpful. Just the bathroom extractor fan didn't work, there was ants by the front door at that time of the year probably couldn't be helped. Could have done with a bit of dusting before arrival. The shower plug needs to be properly cleaned. Apart from that it was a very pleasant stay. I would stay again.

- Lynne (8/5): - The proximity of the property to the relatives we were visiting
The 2 televisions which includes prime and Netflix The living area was a little smaller than we had imagined. There were 3 of us but only 2 mugs and the sofa was rather small for us all.
- David (10/5): Great over night stay - The accommodation was new & well thought out. Nothing to really dislike.
But would have been nice if the heating was on before my arrival.
- John (10/5): -
- kelly (10/5): - The Chequers is a lovely little place to stay. The bed and sofa bed were really comfortable. We had breakfast at the pub, which was delicious, and Kim was very friendly. We will definitely be staying there again.

- Shane (10/5): This place was amazing and would 100% love to stay here again - This was perfect for our family. Thinking that it was going to be a hotel room with the two beds, i was pleasantly surprised by a little 1 bedroom apartment with en-suite toilet. Perfect for our family of 4
- Robert (6/5): -
- Sheryl (8/5): Excellent vfm and warm welcome. - The only reason I didn’t score it even higher is because breakfast is not available. Having said that there’s a kettle and a fridge in the room with a village shop yards away so it’s easy to sort yourselves out. Our room actually had two rooms each with a very luxurious tv offering streamingcservices as well as terrestrial tv. Bed and pillows really comfy. Plenty of heating which you controlled yourself. All in all very good vfm. For a longer stay I’d have liked a bit more hanging space but this really wasn’t an issue on this occasion.
- Steven (8/5): Very pleasant and relaxing - Location was perfect for a wedding venue at The Red Barn A small sink in the lounge in a cabinet would have been good
