Guest Reviews
- Rhiannon (8/5): A beautiful stay in a stunning location! The host was lovely and there when needed! - Nice, clean and modern property!
- Becca (10/5): Home away from home perfect stay. - The fire stove in the living room what a luxury. The stay was a home away from home we had everything we needed. The host was lovely and very attentive. Was perfect for a weekend to relax and do absolutely nothing away from our busy home life. We had plenty of facility’s to cook our brought food on. Absolutely perfect from walking in to leaving. We will definitely be staying again!!! The space in the bedroom from the wall to bed there’s like a foot gap each side. This isn’t a complaint as we managed fine and the bed is super comfy and we found it cosy just more of an indicator to anyone booking with any mobility issues as you’d struggle getting in and out of bed. The only thing missing was a fridge. Again not a complaint as we stayed when it was cold at night so left the milk outside which wasn’t an issue for us.

- Steve (10/5): - Beautiful barn in a lovely location, shame we could only stay 1 night
- Becca_liddy (10/5): - Really lovely room. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Very comfortable. I had a cat visitor in the morning, which I loved! Would recommend and return. No milk provided for hot drinks, everything else provided.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Hotson (8/5): - Very comfortable, clean and relaxing. No contact whatsoever from the owners if you wanted a cooked breakfast there was no one to ask. It says on Booking.com that it is £10 ppl but they advertise it as £12.50. I rang them by mobile to see if we could have breakfast, but no answer, no one was there to meet us. The communication is very bad 👎.

- Ben (10/5): Wonderful stay! Highly recommend. -
- Sophie (9/5): Superb -
- Jim (8/5): Nice overnight stay in quiet location - Location was isolated and quiet and we were able to sit on the private patio and eat our dinner (which we had brought with us). The bed was comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom were quite cramped and the sink was far too small
- Joe (10/5): Thank you for providing a lovely space… - Lovely place, lovely host… All was good.
- Zuzanna (8/5): Very good -
- Coulton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Orsolya (9/5): Superb -
- Nichola (10/5): Had a lovely one night here. Everything you need for a short stay. Really enjoyed our much needed rest. - Warm & cosy with everything you need for a short stay
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): excellent - very clean and comfortable. Small wash basin
- Suarez (10/5): Clean and comfy place to stay in Wales - Clean and had what we needed. Comfortable and beautiful
- Andy (10/5): Can't fault it. Highly recommend. - Everything about this stay was great. Finished to a high standard with plenty of little extras supplied as standard. Bed very comfortable.
- Graham (10/5): Comfy relaxing and calming - Cosy and comfortable lots of open space No bad comments to add
- Steven (5/5): Passable -
- Graham (8/5): Great location and very clean - with one or two meaningful challenges - Excellent lounge and location. Large comfortable double bed. Very good communications with hostess. Extreme tightness of bedroom - only 8-inch gap either side of large double bed made it very difficult to get in and out, especially for an older person. There was only a very small washbasin in the toilet/shower room which had to be used to fill kettles, etc. Too small to use as a kitchen sink although there was an instruction to leave any washing up in bowl outside door which would be returned clean. Also, having read an earlier report about the very good breakfast provided, I hadn't realised it had to be paid for as an extra.
- Tiffany (7/5): Lovely barn but needs bedroom and kitchen area updating. - The living space is great!
The sofa is super comfortable, it’s a very cosy.
We only met the host briefly but she seemed pleasant. The bedroom is tiny, far too small for that size bed.
The bed is so uncomfortable that we’re both travelling back with a bad back! It has a dip in the very middle, definitely needs updating.
The host has a small dog, very sweet but she barks allot. At one point while the host was out the dog didn’t stop barking until they came back!
There is no sink in the living area, the only sink is in the bathroom and it’s tiny!
The host will wash things for you if you leave them outside your room and she does leave you with a bottle of water and will refill it if you leave it outside the room.
- Philippa (9/5): Perfect for a short break away from the rat race! - Lovely accommodation. Very tastefully furnished and comfortable. Peaceful. Nice to have a small patio to sit out. Short drive to Talley Lakes. Very helpful and friendly host. Enjoyed meeting the dogs. Excellent value for money. Not a lot of space to get in and out of bed.
Would be nice to have a small sink/tap in kitchen area.
This would not stop us staying again though.
- Rashied (10/5): If you’re looking for a quiet peaceful place . This is the place - Very peaceful and quiet Nothing absolutely amazing
- Corien (7/5): Just what we needed when we needed it - The location was perfect for us. Ones we found it (really use the postcode) easy access.
Living room was very spaces We missed a sink for little wash up or water tapping (the host will wash the dishes in her dishwasher and return them afterwards)
- Olivia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Suarez (10/5): Waking up to a nice, harmonious place with a beautiful garden and a nice coffee, made a difference - It was clean, spacious, had a beautiful garden, it has all what you need! Nothing that I did not like
- Gill (10/5): Beautiful property with outside space. We keep returning as it has everything you could need with easy accessibility to - Lovely convenient location.
- Michaela (10/5): Stunning property. Great place to stay. - Wow absolutely fabulous
Breakfast was very nice
Host was so attentive .
Will definitely book again x
- Gill (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (10/5): Just what the doctor ordered! - Very peaceful and somewhere to get away from it all. Lucinda was very friendly and welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful. The breakfast was bang on tome, hot and of a very high standard. Thank you for making our stay calm and just what we both needed. It’s a truly lovely place 😊
- Jacintha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): Very good - Comfortable and large spacious living area. Quiet location, host responded quickly to requests when we were there.
Breakfast, which is an extra cost, with good quality ingredients. Plenty of towels and a flannel each.
The small kitchen area was better equiped that we were expecting. The place was cold when we arrived and did not warm up properly until the heating had been on for quite a while in the evening. We lit the woodburner but it did not burn well and gave out almost no heat.
No instructions for anything; eg we could not work the TV or the vents on the woodburner.
- Shazzaroony (10/5): A Welsh wonder! - A Welsh wonder…..
Beautiful property
Clean, top quality furniture
Best bed and bedding ever…
The little outdoor area was soo cute, listening to the river tranquil,
Exactly what we had hoped for……
- Christine (8/5): Good price for self contained accommodation. - Ideal for a stop-over. Nice to have a log burner. One tiny sink.
- Teagan (9/5): Lovely, comfy and cosy place - The place was finished very nice and had all kitchen facilities you could need for a one night stay! Brilliant location for us - very peaceful! The only negative thing was the host didn’t really say hello - which might be nice for some people. But it did come across abit rude. Only a personal peference
- Caitlin (9/5): Peaceful & enjoyable stay - A gorgeous place to stay, we loved the living room area, was cosy by the log burner, decorated beautifully, french doors open to back garden where you can hear the river flowing. A kitchenette sufficient enough to cook simple meals. Lovely fluffy towels and robes perfect after a day of walking. Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable, mattress hard and lumpy, even when using our mattress topper. Every move you make it creaks definitely needs a new bed sadly we didn’t sleep very well.
Would definitely go back if replaced.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Connor (9/5): Amazing and properly rural stay in the heart of Wales - Host was very helpful when needed but also left us to our own devices which is how we like it.
Fireplace was a lovely touch
WiFi was good
Location was so quaint
Lots of amenities e.g. tea and coffee
The river that runs next to the building
The back garden patio area Breakfast slightly pricey although very good quality and cooked to order!
- Kendal (10/5): Comfortable, warm and cosy - The room was comfortable, warm and cosy. Everything was provided - a coffee machine, lots of crockery (which you put out of the hosts for the dishwasher) and a hot shower. A good base for this part of Carmarthenshire.
- Philip (9/5): more than comfortable, tranquil location. We would come back - The location was peaceful and quiet and all you could hear was the river.
Facilities were excellent and our host was welcoming. We appreciated the breakfast which was delicious and enjoyed meeting the house cat
- Ena (9/5): Perfect for us. Excellent food. Loved it - The place was peaceful and quite. Neat and tidy Nothing because it was just what we needed to be able to attend a wedding nearby
- Emma (8/5): Cosy stay - The lounge area was spacious lovely log burner
Cooking facilities were great
Loved the crystals
Bedding and towels good quality
Owner had left tea coffee milk
Also home made welsh cakes
Owners cat popped in to say hello 😄 Bedroom area was small
Bed was not to our liking was quite firm but this cannot be helped
- Crish (10/5): Quiet. Relaxing - It was like a home from a home. Everything had been thought of. Clean. Homely. Plenty of tea, coffee. Even Welsh cakes put out on arrival. Will definitely be booking again. Absolutely nothing
- Ambrose (10/5): Exceptional - For me the location was Peaceful just what I needed
The Barn was beautifully presented , very clean .
Also plenty of lighting too some places have poor lighting this was perfect.
Plenty of space for me & the dog .
Nice touches with the Crystals , complimentary toiletries to use & plenty of towels & a dressing gown which was lovely. .
Slept really well the bed was very comfortable.
Thank you 😊.
Lots of things to do locally, however I travelled a bit further out to do my days out but that's only because I had a list of must see places.
- Gill (10/5): Lovely home from home. Lucinda was so helpful to all our additional needs. - Very homely, spotless and comfortable Nothing
- Lily (10/5): Lovely cosy stay for two in a cute cottage in the countryside. - The welcome we received was very good. The log fire was lovely. The location was remote which is what we wanted. The cooking facilities and extras (tea/ coffee etc) were great. Generally just a great place to spend a couple days. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hussle and bustle for a few days. Looks exactly like the photos advertised.
- Gill (10/5): Such a lovely relaxing stay. Will and are returning very soon. - Beautifully comfortable accommodation in a lovely quiet setting. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Well looked after. Nothing
- Gill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trevor (7/5): Good - Large Living area with plenty of comfortable couches. Wood burner. TV.
Helpful owner Cramped bedroom barely larger than double bed. And cramped bathroom with tiny washbasin.
- Rachel (8/5): Great stay would recommend - Lovely property. Great location for what we needed. The place had everything we could have wanted, would definitely recommend to others and may be staying again when visiting family in the future
- David (10/5): Lovely & peaceful - Clean, tidy & tasteful Tiny sink
- Faiza (7/5): Had a lovely short stay, had everything we needed - Modern, clean and welcoming
- Mandy (9/5): A handy place to stay for work trips. - Very comfortable and quiet place to stay A sink to wash up, but to be fair it did mention this in the write up on Booking .com
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Arrived it was like home from home, the barn was spotless clean only stayed for the night had a chilled night on the patio listening to the water of the river, will be back soon. Everything
- Steve (8/5): A Quiet and Relaxing Night Away. - A Quite and tranquil place to stay and have a relaxing night away. Close to some small quaint towns, and within a short drive to a few country pubs.
A Very friendly and welcoming host who was always happy to help should you require anything.
Property was clean and well presented. Additional costs for a Breakfast, (£13 each) and extra cut logs (£7) for the wood burner were a little over priced…
But understandable for this day and age!
No complaints at all though, as we had a complimentary basket of wood to start with, which was ample for a cosy night in front of the log burner.
- Cockbain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (10/5): We had a wonderful stay. Quiet and relaxing and a great location to explore south wales. Will definitely be back - A great place for a mini break. Great living areas and garden patio area. Running river to the back of the garden so very relaxing
- Anonymous (10/5): Picturesque getaway in a beautiful converted barn among the countryside of south wales. - it was spacious, well laid out and well kept. it was easy to find and easy accessible- the owner made sure we were able to come and go as we pleased and was very accommodating to our needs. n/a
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Beautiful place, thankyou for the lovely breakfast. Leah & Lawrence 😁 - Great location central to a lot of beautiful sites all a short drive away, decent bed and great log burner. Small bathroom.
- Lina (10/5): I have really much enjoyed my stay at Lucinda’s Home. - Beautiful interior and cozy atmosphere with plenty of space for yoga and relaxing on the couch. Lucinda was also always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. I felt very comfortable and will be happy to come back:)
- Ali (10/5): Excellent experience & great value for money - Lucinda was lovely, the venue is gorgeous, clean, tidy, exceptionally well presented with brilliant facilities and just great value for money! breakfast was superb and the property was a wonderful place to be, thank you Lucinda for a wonderful stay, we loved your property and look forward to staying with you again in the future! Nothing against Lucinda or the property but I think it's Wales in general, you are away from anything for a good few miles, therefore, you need to drive and be prepared to drive out if you need anything or want to do something.
- Gemma (10/5): A relaxing stay that offered everything we needed - We booked a one night stay as a stop over......wish we could have stayed longer! Its an amazing location with the property backing on to a garden area and stream which was a lovely find . It was a really relaxing stay with everything we needed. The log burner was a lovely extra. The price doesnt justify how good this place is and we hope to return soon.
