• Laila (8/5): Overall a great flat with excellent location in a nice and safe area - Location was perfect and good area You can hear every step from the flat above, they were waking up at 5am and due to the old floorboards you can hear every step so our sleep was really disturbed

• Nemeth (6/5): - Easy, well communicated check in. Comfortable bed. Tidy place! NO Internet, very poor reception, therefore the tv didn't work well either! There was a router in the room, despite that it was very poor WiFi. Mostly didn't work at all. Bathroom was quite smelly- drain like smell, but it was clean!

• Walker (7/5): Did the job! - The apartment was clean and comfortable. We only stayed overnight to facilitate an early flight from City Airport so did not use the property to it's full extent to provide any further worthwhile information.. I was a little concerned with the £200 damage deposit which I wasn't aware of on booking. That would have been nice to know. It was particularly relevant for us as we did not meet anyone on arrival and were leaving early in the morning. In the end the deposit was returned quite quickly, but I felt vulnerable to challenge in that area especially as there was a malfunctioning sink plug in the bathroom.
• Annette (10/5): Great location and nice and quiet for sleeping! Close to supermarket and restaurants and HOHO bus outside Madame Tassuad - Beds were comfortable and furnishings were lovely! May I suggest a standard lamp at end of sofa! I didn’t want the bright lights on in the lounge whilst watching TV! Map to show where the local Waitrose supermarket is located please! We can’t all afford to eat out every night! Microwave bowls would be good to have too! An instruction booklet for all appliances please! We are enjoying our stay in your apartment! Thank you Perfectly comfortable!

• Neka (1/5): COLLECTING DATA & MONEY - BEWARE - Very poor management . I sent my passport. Paid for the night plus the £350 deposit(they still have it) and complete a digital face scan to still not be able to stay there. They request passports and face scan for visitors who pop in even if they are not sleeping at the property Within a few minutes of booking, they sent me an email asking for additional documents which I kindly declined as I am not in support of this property collection and storing anymore personal data. They property charge you and extra £6 for toilet spray which as a Genius level 3 member on booking I should have taken that as a bad sign. There are much nicer properties nearby to choose from on here. This apartment is hardly The Ritz .I wouldn’t bother staying somewhere where the management is unreasonable as this always leads to more problems in the long run. A few days have passed now and they still have my money

• Hodgson (8/5): Comfortable clean spacious apartment in excellent apartment - Location of the apartment was perfect for us as I had a hospital procedure at the London clinic The apartment was clean very spacious and had a lovely kitchen and two toilets Two good sized bedrooms Large mirrors and loads of storage Was in a quiet ish street and we felt safe here close to everything we needed Personally I would have preferred an apartment which wasn’t in the basement as all the blinds were down as there was no light There was no natural light anywhere

• Graham (8/5): - The apartment is spacious. Walking distance to the tube station. The living room heating turns off automatically at night, making the room uncomfortably cold and preventing us from spending extended time together watching TV or movies.

• Lisa (7/5): Great overnight stay - The location. I was staying for work. I arrived at around 9pm and left the following morning at 07:30am. It was the perfect 5 minute walk in the morning to maximise my rest. I really didn't like giving so much personal information over the internet. Also a £200 holding fee is very steep. Many stains on the carpet and it didn't look like it had been vacuumed in some time. The lights in the first bedroom were also broken. Looking at other reviews, it has been broken a while and not fixed.
• Alan (8/5): Great find, definitely recommend it - It had everything we needed and was ideal location for visits to Westmorland Street Hospital. It wasn’t a big issue , but some of the lightbulbs didn’t work in the bathroom and bedroom. I would also advise guests to take photos of the property when they arrive, as there was some minor damage that you would want to be charged for when you leave. I would also recommend a light be put by the lockbox as it was difficult to type in the code in the dark. None of this detracted from the positive experience though😀

• Melissa (9/5): - The location was great for where we needed to go. The apartment was very spacious and clean. The amenities provided were great. The automatic lock on the main front door didn't always work. It wouldn't let us shut the door at first and then when we came home after our event, the key wouldn't work as it kept turning and didn't register the lock. We were locked outside in the early hours of the morning until luckily someone from another apartment let us in.

• Alexandra (8/5): Perfect for short stay, great location, easy instructions to access. - Easy to get to from Waterloo and very straightforward system to get in via a lock box. Property had everything you needed for a short stay and was comfortable and modern. Location was great, felt safe and brilliant tube links. Pubs and shops close by. £200 holding fee. I appreciate this is standard procedure but £200 feels a lot of money for 1 night stay.

Photo ID required for online check in to get access details. Terms & conditions on the properties own on-line check in different to Booking.com. E.g may deduct money from your security deposit if you get make up on the towels. Recommend you book somewhere with a receptionist who will check you in.

• Sarah (6/5): Generally comfortable, good quiet neighbourhood, felt safe - Good size place, quiet neighbourhood, but good access to the tube and not far to walk to Oxford St either. It was a bit dusty in places, like the tops of the headboards. There was no plug in the kitchen sink, so difficult to do the washing up. The light was broken on the stairwell down to the basement and we had to use torches (it’s the only way in and out). The smaller bedroom has no heating, so needed to prop the door open all night to keep warm.

• John (2/5): Whilst the apartment presents nicely and was clean, issues above were very disappointing. - Location perfect. Double bed small and VERY uncomfortable. Needs replacing. Shower temperature control did not work - water was freezing. I could not shower. There was no plug for the bath. Tall person cannot stand up straight in shower due to slanted ceiling. No toilet roll was in the apartment! We were notified at 2.55pm that apartment was not ready to check in at 3.00pm. No further notification was received when it was ready. Had to phone Host at 4.30pm to find out when it was ready.

• Lesley (10/5): Comfortable apartment in an Ideal location - Freedom to arrive and have instant access to the property. The apartment was in the heart of Marylebone and a perfect location. The entrance was fresh and modern. The apartment comfortable and clean.

Close to the village and Baker Street tube, so very convenient. Nice quiet residential area. As a basement flat there was very little natural light. As a two bed apartment it was lacking in wine glasses, we could only find one!

Good location close to Marylebone High Street and Regents Park with plenty of good restaurants and shops nearby . Good kitchen facilities. Comfortable beds. Useful to have 2 toilets. Good shower. Very clean. Checking in through app was over complicated, having to provide ID for all guests. Not given details on how to get into flat until 3pm was a bit annoying but understood the reasons why. Some lights did not work. Dishwasher did not work during our stay.

• Lois (1/5): Completely unsafe and unfit for guests - avoid at all costs. - Leaving it We booked two apartments with Excel Apartments in Marylebone, and one (Apartment 2) was completely uninhabitable. When we checked in at 3pm, the bathroom ceiling was covered in mould and the smell of damp spread throughout the flat. It was unsafe to stay in, especially for someone in our group with asthma. We contacted Excel Apartments immediately, but they only offered to “send maintenance,” which was not an acceptable or safe solution. Hours later, they offered a different apartment over 5 miles away, despite already knowing we were attending a concert that evening and couldn’t relocate safely that night. They also falsely claimed in an email that this alternative had been offered by phone, which was untrue. We returned the keys that night and did not stay there. Despite repeated follow-ups and photo evidence, no refund has been issued — only a small “credit” from Booking.com. The apartment was unsafe, the response was unacceptable, and no one should ever stay here.

Willing definitely choose this again over hotels. Major letdown was less than half a roll of toilet paper (maybe one third) was in the property. It had two toilets but only a little bit of toilet roll.!!!!! Stingy much.

• Ollie (8/5): Nice flat, good location, needs more clear instructions to gain entry. - Flat itself was great. Location was ideal, only a few minutes walk from Baker Street tube station Keys are in a lockbox, instructions were not very clear - it took us 30 minutes to get in. There are around 10-12 lockboxes around the property and the video instructions were of a different lockbox to where the keys were which made it more confusing. Woman on the customer support line wasn’t the best at helping.

• Michelle (8/5): We had a lovely stay but a few tweaks needed - It was a good location, spacious and enough of everything we needed. It wax a nightmare trying to get into the apartment after traveling for a number of hours. There was no fan in the bathroom so the ceiling was mouldy, the internet was terrible so we couldn’t watch television and had to use our laptop. There was no lock in the toilet door and there were a few broken table tops etc .
• Andrea (2/5): Disappointing accommodation, however great location - Location was fabulous Corridor light bulb gone so pitch black stairwell which is dangerous. Missing toiletries, no soap etc which was stated in the listing as being provided. Dirty smelly tea towel left, hairs on toilet, cobwebs. Only 1 plug socket in bedroom, and other bedroom had two bedside lights but one had no plug. Fans were provided but no where near to bed to plug chargers etc in. This was a basement apartment and the noise from above flat was very loud, could hear every footstep. Photos make the place look fabulous however it’s not as plush as it looks… very tired looking.
