Guest Reviews
- Christopher (8/5): Lovely caravan on a great park - Lovely, comfortable caravan and a beautiful location on the lake. The hot tub really made it, as did the fishing from right outside the caravan. Ideal for families with younger children. Adults / older kids might struggle in the smaller room but our 8 and 12 year old were fine in there for a few nights. The park itself is also great - the kids loved the indoor pool and there were loads of activities, plus a decent bar and a small amusements. Not sure why people are moaning about cobwebs, it's on a lake and there's nature - we found it to be very clean and well looked-after. Lots to do in the local area, we visited Cirencester and my son enjoyed the fishing shop down the road. I'd also recommend The Waterside restaurant a short walk away and The Old George pub in South Cerney - there's a nice footpath from the site around the lakes and through a woodland to cut out a lot of the main road. Communication before arriving could have been more prompt and detailed. I had to ask a couple of times to get the welcome info - when it arrived it was all pretty simple and easy to access the caravan though. A bit of info on booking park activities beforehand would be great, you have to book at reception / by phone call and because we didn't know this until after arrival a lot of the kids daytime activities were already fully booked. Some people mentioned a welcome pack with a drink, biscuits etc, we didn't get anything like that so be aware it might just be for certain bookings.
Caravan is just missing a couple of minor bits that would improve things - mainly lamps in the living room and small bedroom (they were very bright with just the main lights), a couple of bin bags and dishwasher tablets would have been welcome, and some scissors! But otherwise it was well-equipped with all the other bits we needed.
- Gary Sharp (10/5): very enjoyable and fun - great location, facilities good.
Staff at restaurant/cafe excellent.
- Nikola (9/5): A lovely peaceful stay. Perfectly placed for visiting RIAT! - A lovely place, perfectly placed for our trip to Fairford for the airshow. The caravan was right on the lake and was so peaceful. It came fully equipped with everything you would need. We loved the ‘Faith In Nature’ products too! Towels, robes, a bottle of fizz and sweeties were a lovely touch. The best part was the jacuzzi, bubbling away and ready for use as soon as we arrived. The complex of Hoburne was also really lovely. We used the swimming and leisure facilities, the bar and mini golf. We’ve loved it. Many thanks. We didn’t receive our pre check-in email so had some trouble locating the van and had to wait in the main reception for 20 minutes to get some help. We did receive an email apology however.
There were cobwebs and spiders around the door frames and windows so we had to have a hoover around on arrival.
- Dean (10/5): Probably the nicest lodge we have ever in . We will certainly be back soon - This property had everything and more
On the edge off the lake with a hot tub to enjoy it even more Absolutely nothing it was perfect
- Joanne (7/5): Good -
- Mark (10/5): Excellent location. - Great location with some excellent restaurants close by. There is a great Asian restaurant within 5 minutes walk of the park entrance called Waterside kitchen. We also ate at the Lakeside Brasserie which did an excellent Sunday lunch and only cost £5 by Uber to get to if you don’t fancy driving. Hot tub was a big plus for our 6 year old granddaughter. The caravan was very clean with lots of clean towels provided for your stay. BBQ was also I nice bonus. Nothing
- Ruth (8/5): Lovely location well equipped mobile with great hot tub - Situation right on the lake was wonderful. Kitchen was very well equipped. Hot tub was great. Sofa was comfortable which is unusual most aren’t. We were 4 adults and although one bedroom was spacious the other was tiny , perhaps ok for kids. Disappointed we couldn’t fish on mallard lake as per the site information that’s one reason we booked that particular accommodation. Other lake had no fish…as per regular fishermen
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Hot tub Small bar area to watch sport.
- Vickyok (10/5): Review of Mallard lake - • Warm Welcome: The lodge was pre-heated for our arrival, which made it incredibly easy to settle in, especially given the cold, wet, and windy weather.
• Thoughtful Gesture: A bottle of water and a tin of shortbread were left for us—a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch.
• Well-Equipped: The lodge had everything we needed, including pots, pans, wine and water glasses, a French press coffee maker, cutlery, plates, bowls, warm slippers, robes, ample towels, shampoo, body and hand wash, lotion, tissues, and kitchen rolls.
• Peaceful Atmosphere: The area is exceptionally quiet, with only the sounds of birds—a perfect setting for rest and relaxation.
• Great Facilities: We had access to heated indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant, and indoor and outdoor play areas for kids.
• Beautiful Lake View: The lodge is right by the lake, and waking up every morning to the sight of birds, ducks, and swans was truly priceless.
• Hot Tub: The hot tub was the highlight of our stay. It runs 24/7, allowing us to use it whenever we wanted. It was also reassuring to see it being checked and treated daily.
Conclusion:
This was an excellent holiday and one of our best winter getaways in the UK so far. • Electric Kettle: The kettle desperately needs a deep clean or replacement. It’s covered in limescale, which isn’t pleasant to see.
• Cobwebs: There were cobwebs around the lodge, and it seems like a quick five-minute clean would have resolved this issue.
• Lodge Size: The lodge is relatively small, suitable for a maximum of four people. Additionally, there’s no en-suite shower in the main bedroom.
- Deborah (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (9/5): Superb -
- Nichola (10/5): Perfectly perfect - Everything we needed and more. Slippers and robes were a nice little treat along with the bottle of wine. We had the best stay. Hot tub could of been a little warmer
- Donna (10/5): Fantastic - The hot tub No complaint
- Sharon (10/5): 5* - Beautiful accommodation in a lovely location, couldn't fault it, the hot tub was perfect :o) - The accommodation was beautiful and set in a lovely location and had everything you could ask for or you would need and was immaculate. The little extra touches were lovely and the hot tub was a bonus. Ideally located to tour round the Cotswolds and see the sights. Plenty of places to eat in the area. The hot tub (weather permitting) was the perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing. The fishing at the lake beside the accommodation was a big bonus for the fishers in the party. Will definitely be booking again but for longer as a week just wasn't long enough :o) The weather, but alas there is nothing we can do about the British weather, it didn't stop us from enjoying our break. Another tiny niggle was the TV signal wasn't great in the living room or the bedroom but it won't stop us booking again :o)
From an arachnophobic the only other thing was the SPIDERS, to many of them but to be fair they were the teeny weeny money spiders and small ones which I could just about cope with but it certainly didn't stop me enjoying my break!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great weekend, a home from home. - Fabulously positioned for lovely views of the lake. Very clean and well equipped with everything thought of. Comfortable beds with clean crisp bedding and a fabulous hot tub overlooking the lake. The welcome bottle of wine and chocolates was much appreciated. Had a wonderful time.
- Gareth (6/5): Pleasant - Hot tub was not available for the first 24 hours. Path to the property was slightly flooded.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krol (8/5): Very good - We really liked area and everything about the caravan. Hot tub was the best ☺️ Cobwebs and spiders all around ceiling and on the walls. Double bed could be more comfortable also.
- Lynn (9/5): Had a very relaxing stay: fishing right next to the caravan, reading in the September heatwave and cooling off in the ho - Location on the lake, excellent for fishing.
Thoughtful extras such as wine, chocolates, slippers, bath robes and luxury toiletries Hot tub not hot enough, more like a bath.
Too many spiders 😬.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shania (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful stay, so clean and comfy with added bonus of hot tub, in a perfect location with lots to do on site and only a short drive away from lots more to do and see.

- Lisa (10/5): Perfect holiday break, something for everyone, whatever the weather! - Set on a beautiful location at a family friendly holiday park that has something for everyone. The caravan was very well equipped and the hot tub was an added luxury for us all to enjoy. The caravan felt very clean and well looked after and we will certainly be booking again at our earliest opportunity. Thank you 👍 Having to come home was the only thing we didn't like. We would like to stay longer next time 😃
- Jacob (9/5): Beautiful stay at Mallard Lake. A home from home! Cleanliness was spot on and beds were comfortable - Beautiful location right on the lake.
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional - clean and comfortable.
- Lihui (9/5): Great accommodation in great location - The accommodation was very clean. The kitchen facilities were great with all provisions for home to home. The hotub was very enjoyable. The owner was providing all the passes and parking permit before arriving. The location setting was great to have water activities or explore cotswold villages. There were a few spiders coming into the room.
- Carol (9/5): we had a great stay. The accommodation was great and the property had all we needed. Tge temperature was up to 34 degre - the property was lovely, spotless and had everything we needed. it was too warm for sleeping but obviously this was no fault of the owners.
- Zillah (9/5): Superb -
