Guest Reviews
- Caroline (6/5): Amazing location, great staff, a fabulous place to get into the thick of it in London! - Pubs, restaurants, shops galore. A great vibe. Amazing location, a few minutes from Green Park tube, 2 stops to Westminster and Waterloo. It’s a very vibrant, busy area, so if you’ve expecting a peaceful sleep, don’t……the area goes to sleep after midnight and starts waking up around 3.30am!
- Amanda (3/5): Disappointing - Location The actual flat was nothing like the one we booked. Kitchen not properly supplied with basics, I.e. oven gloves and dish cloths. 3rd bedroom not really big enough for 2 adults. When owners written to we received no response
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (4/5): Nice but not what I was expecting - Great location. Lots of nice bars and restaurants on a cute square. I was given a different apartment to the one I originally booked. It was a nice apartment but a downgrade compared to what we were expecting and disappointing. The binmen were out at 3am collecting hundreds of glass bottles at the bars across the road and you can hear everything loud going on outside on a weekend. The corridor leading up-to the apartment is unclean.
- Rich (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Great location, comfortable, clean and well equipped Curtains over the heaters
- Amit (4/5): Terrible stay - Location V small room. Bad bed. Tiny bathroom. Host don’t disclose it’s a walk up no elevator
- Mike (4/5): Great location but noisy. - Location was great. Lots of amenities close by. The noise around the property, bottle bins emptied every night at 12/1 am. Noise from street below due to bars and restaurants.
- Sager (8/5): Very good -
- Rekha (8/5): Very good -
- Abdulrahman (1/5): Bad -
- Dogan (8/5): Very good - Location of place is so good. The house is smaller than photos.
- Emma (8/5): Great budget apartment for short stay - simple basic accomodation for a good price in a great area. The facilities are limited but in line with the price given the location The apartment was teeny tiny and the bed was a fold down sofa bed type with super thin matress. Perfect for one night but so glad thats all we stayed.
- Jose (6/5): Pleasant -
- Helen (4/5): Carbon Monoxide alarm was going of for 2 hours during the evening and the sofa bed was not set up - Carbon Monoxide alarm was going of for 2 hours during the evening and the sofa bed was not set up
- Amber (2/5): Very poor - Location Facilities. Bath plug wouldn’t stay in so couldn’t have a bath. Hairs found in sheets, were they even clean?!
- Yoty (6/5): below expectations - Great Location Small. . the room is not as shown in the picture, the water from the shower does not flow smoothly!
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Marcus (8/5): Very good -
- Abdulaziz (1/5): Bad -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adele (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property , spacious , clean and well maintained .
We wouldn’t hesitate to book it again
- Paul (9/5): Well appointed historic property with all mod cons - Great location in the heart of Mayfair - historic charm with modern facilities. Curtains that could closed rather than blinds that were difficult to operate.
- Venkata (10/5): Exceptional - good location and very good property
- Alina (10/5): Amazing location, good price - "Great apartment in an excellent location! Very clean and offers good value for the price. Highly recommend!
- Tia (1/5): Awful, we couldn’t even stay the night after paying over £200 for a bed sit !! - Nothing we actually couldn’t even stay the night complete waste of money The host was extremely rude, didn’t match the pictures was tiny and not clean there was literal mouse traps
- Shona (5/5): Great location but the listing needs more accurate information. - The location was excellent, right in the heart of Mayfair. The kitchen is small but well equipped. The photos on the listing are very misleading, there are photos of multiple properties on the listing making you think it’s actually bigger & nicer than it actually is. The bathroom has no ventilation & smells mouldy. The decorative throw blanket on the bed clearly doesn’t get washed between guests and had spills / stains all over it.
- Thelma (7/5): The entrance was dirty which didn’t make for good impressions. - cleanliness was under par.
- Malgorzata (9/5): Perfect location/lovely apartment - Great location, easy check in and check out process, friendly staff, clean and comfortable little apartment A lot of stairs...
- Shu (7/5): Good -
- Spoors (6/5): It was fine. Lovely little romantic apartment. Ideal for an overnight stay with my hubby for work. - The location was ideal for our purpose in visiting London. There was no plug next to a mirror to be able to do my hair.
- Surinder (7/5): Ideal location. Walking distance to Oxford street, Buckingham palace etc. the apartment was clean. Not spotless but cl - The location was great. Spacious and ideal for us. Little issues like no hot water (boiler switch had been switched off). No tea towels in the kitchen.
- Jan (4/5): our time in London was very good, the stay in the apartment was very disapointing - Mayfair is lovely, nice shops and restaurants. we came to celebrate the mariage of our son and that was very beautiful. The apartment was in the basement, which was not mentioned in the advertisement on Booking.com. There was a terrible sewage smell throughout the entire apartment. Nothing was done about our complaints, and we were left to deal with it ourselves. We also did not receive any compensation. The service is very poor. However, the layout and the spaces were as expected.
- Kimberly (10/5): Great location and clean! - Great location
- Benjamin (1/5): A dirty place with bloody bedding and a broken bed! - The location was fine and central. The pictures are deceiving!
The bedsheets, linens and towels were completely filthy and stained, with trays that appeared to have feces and blood. After almost 3 hours, they finally brought “fresh” ones, which were even worse. The bed is broken on the right side, with springs poking through the thin mattress. Oh, and the mattress is actually 120 cm, not 150 cm as stated in the listing.
There are also moths flying around in the apartment.
The owner ignored the complaint and only offered a 20% discount on a future stay, which we certainly won’t be using, plus a late check-out worth £100 to stay just two hours later, until 1pm.
Avoid this place unless you're looking for bedbugs and a dirty experience!
- Sultan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Alexia (7/5): Good - Location A little noisey with the bars outside.
Needed earplugs to sleep if you’re there over a weekend
- Matthew (7/5): Good for one night stay - excellent location - Location was ideal, room was clean, key handover was very easy and efficient Shabby communal entrance hall and stairs.
Small bed,
- Sefik (8/5): Very good -
- David (5/5): Disappointed that the apartment smells of smoke - Location was good for Mayfair area Had to wait half hour longer than planned for a guy to arrive with a key to allow entry.
Then a Strong smell of smoke in the apartment which lingered for the duration of our stay.
The owner tried to suggest it might be chemicals from the cleaner but it clearly wasn’t.
- Coombe (5/5): A great location, needs door stops that actually work and a shower curtain that doesn't smell. - The host was in regular contact with me A 50 pound late check fee was requested in cash on check in!
- David (7/5): We were happy enough given the cost and location - Breakfast was not included. The location was brilliant and the value very fair given the location. But the room itself was relatively average in all respects. The bed and room was rather small and other small touches we missing e.g. no tea towels, only 4 tea bags and 4 coffee sachets for 2 people for 4 nights, no milk for hot drinks, the shower was temperamental, check in was a little confused, etc. A bit more attention to detail would go a long way.
- Wael (7/5): Stay Mayfair Apartment- London - Here are the pros:
The location is amazing. Closer to everything than you think. Around 10 minutes walking to (Hyde park, Harrods, SOHO, BUCKINGHAN PALACE & more). Safest neighborhood in London (Mayfair). Spacious, with 2 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms + 2 living rooms and kitchen. Here are the cons:
Such an apartment in such a prime location must be updated (furniture: sofas, beds, night stands, closets, a microwave, curtains & curtains & curtains)
The bathrooms must be all renovated.
They didn't mention that it's in the "BASEMENT".
They should unlock the safe deposit box for customers to use.
- Abdelhamid (8/5): Very good - Bed SHEETS NEEDS TO BE RENEWED
- Rebello (8/5): Very good -
- Ali (5/5): Passable - Location and price There was bad smell
- Lorraine (10/5): Lovely apartment! Nothing to find fault with. Couldn’t work out how to get shower going so had a bath. Partner di - Great location next to Hyde Park
- Brian (10/5): Pleasant stay within a terrific and safe area. - Very nice clean room. It was as advertised. Pleasant stay, great location.
- Zeynep (9/5): Everything was good except the agent who showed me the room was horrible. He left a bad taste for me - Location The agent who came to show us the room was very rude. He was talking to me as I am a child and when I ask question he got frustrated. He was the worst person during this experience I faced with. He is in the wrong business. His customer service is 0
- Ben (6/5): Convenient location but worst bed experience! - The location is so convenient to central London! The bed was so uncomfortable I actually was in shock that the property management think it is acceptable to supply this particular mattress to customers that are paying premium prices to stay in Mayfair! The internet was also completely unreliable. The entrance to the building needs a good clean up.
- Marilyn (7/5): Location is good but needs more attention to detail. Information about area and how to get around would be good. How to - Location excellent . Some good facilities. TV didn’t work. Blinds didn’t work. Noisy at night as 2 pubs nearby. No tea towels or laundry detergent. Floor dusty. Very dirty entrance to building . No explanation in regard to opening the door to the apartment. Took us quite a while to work it out. Gets hot and no fan. Coffee and tea there but no milk.
- Laima (9/5): I would definitely recommend a stay here but be away that the images you see are not necessarily what you are going to g - The location was excellent, walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Greens Park and the Underground. Made it very easy to get around. It was above the restaurant and pubs so easy to go out for delicious meals. The corridor downstairs and entry needs a good vacuum so it didn’t give a very good impression when you arrived and the stairs are very narrow and steep which made it difficult with a suitcase. The mattress was not as comfortable as it could have been with a topper on it as I could feel the springs a bit more than I liked but still it was comfortable.
- Jamal (4/5): Disappointing -
- Adeseun (1/5): Terrible - I hated the experience it was the worse ever in my travel history. Terrible not a good value for money. Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
- Yogesh (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (8/5): Excellent location with friendly host - Excellent location with friendly host
- Almutairi (4/5): NO THING IN THE FLAT SAME THE PICTURES - *** WORNING *** NO THING IN THE FLAT SAME THE PICTURES. ((( The flat was so humble and not the one in pictures )))
I came to the location someone was nice took us to the flat, the minute we walked in we realized that isn’t the flat we booked we said to the guy that isn’t our flat he said we don’t have another flat with 3 bedrooms except this one I showed him the pictures here in booking So he calld his boss he told his boss that we have a large point he seems wanted to convince his boss but the boss asked him to put it on speaker he said this what you booked in booking take it or leave it I tried to contact booking but it a was long process to get our money back socially we just landed and tired.
So we enforced to take it any way!!!!
- Jonathan (6/5): The apartment itself was nice, but overall there were some downsides with smells and the dirty nature of the entrance an - The property itself was clean and well presented There was a smell of cigarette smoke in the property, and the entrance was to the building was dirty, with litter and a bad smell.
- Øystein (8/5): Very good -
- Bill (1/5): Mouldy and damp smell - Location Mouldy, smelly, very dirty
Host tried to give us a different apartment t to what we booked. Very dodgy people.
- Mazin (3/5): do not recommend!! - located in a good area the apartment is located in the basement and that wasn’t mentioned
there was a strong and unpleasant odor in the apartment; we spent most of our day outside because we simply couldn’t handle the smell (it felt like we were inside the sewer)
the host did not reply to our complain, nor tried to fix or enhance our stay
the apartment is not spacious
- Kevin (7/5): Good -
- Taylah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lloyd (9/5): Superb - Lovely room. Great location. And the staff was super friendly and helpful really good value for money too
- Mohammed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yarnall (9/5): London apartment in the perfect location for a night or two exploring! - The property was in an exceptional location! My partner and I travelled to London for the BST Hyde Park concerts and it was literally a 10 minute walk AT MOST. It is located near plenty of pubs, restaurants, corner stores and a Tesco. I would recommend coming into Green Park station as it’s a 5 minute walk away. Green Park is a lovey location right next door to have a meal deal or go for a walk. The staff were amazingly accommodating, allowing us to check in at 1pm after a quick turn around from the previous guests. The flat is well kitted out with a nice kitchen, bathroom and lounge/bedroom. Some previous reviews discuss the ‘sewage smell’ outside but we did not notice it at all! The air conditioning was a life saver this week during the heatwave.
My fella and I managed to lock over selves out without the key and, after half an hour of calling the staff, they sent someone to the office to collect the key and then come and let us in at midnight! Good service despite our foolishness (at the price of £100 in all fairness). My only slight qualm is that the bed is a sofa bed, and while comfortable, I did notice that there were some hairs and other indicators that the bed wasn’t cleaned as well as I had hoped. However I am incredibly fussy about this. The bed smelt clean and there were no stains or odd smells.
Another thing, again very minor. The shower uses a shower curtain which does not do very well from stopping water getting in the bathroom floor. With this being said, the shower was lovey and easy to control.
- Ezgi (8/5): Very good -
- Emre (8/5): Very good - The location is absolutely perfect. In the apartment, you have everything you need: kitchen amenities, hairdryer, iron etc. The green park metro line is very near and you have so many restaurants and bar in the neighbourhood. The bed is really not a double-sized, it's 1.5 max. And not really comfortable. We stayed for 16 days and it could be good if a cleaning done after the first week. For this price, cleaning mid-stay should've been included.
- Yesim (3/5): Poor - Breakfast was not included We were charged £100 extra for a cleaning fee which was not written on our booking. We wrote about this to booking.com and reported to host of this accommodation. Unfortunately, the host was very unhelpful and told us to talk to booking.com. So far, we have not heard from booking.com either! So we do not recommend this property as the information is not accurate.
- Peggy (2/5): It was awful - we will never stay again. We were mislead and decided by the photos. Nothing worked and I will be writing - Location The property was not what we booked. The pics on the Stay Mayfair website are misleading and deceptive. The pics had different kitchen and a desk. We realised later that the 40 photos were pics of multiple apts and we do not have the option of choosing which one we one. It is randomly allocated and we got the worst one despite paying over £2000 for 5 days. The photos are misleading and deceptive and I will be complaining to Consumers Affairs.
There was no desk to be able to do work from despite pictures of a desk. Kitchen was tiny and not really usable. The blinds in lounge room did not open or work at all and we were forced to sit in darkness for the whole week with no sun or light.
The internet was absolutely terrible and we could not take work zoom calls due to bad wifi and no desk.
On arrival the person was 30 minutes late despite saying we will be there at 3pm. I missed a work meeting due to his late arrival.
The stay was terrible and I will not recommend this place to my global affluent friends or colleagues, hence will be writing a negative review on the website. The photos are misleading and deceptive and we do not know what apartment we are allocated until we arrive. I will be submitting a complaint to UK Consumer Affairs.
- Gerd (8/5): Very good - The location is awesome
- Shania (1/5): Stay somewhere else! - If you are a tourist, or you don't fancy sleeping at all, the location is fine, but if you are travelling for work, stay somewhere else. They supply decent kitchen equipment but bring your own coffee for the machine. Where do I start.... it was a little tricky to find but eventually they sent me photos that showed me where the door was located between a shop and a restaurant. There is just a door number, no name. The shower is tiny. BUT mostly the biggest issues were the old sprung matrress on a fold out couch that was SO uncomfortable that I have to use a double folded blanket and a double folded duvet to not feel the multiple springs pushing into my body. I complained about it before I tried to sleep but was informed that"We provide a standard mattress and have never had issues". I can't believe that is true. The windows are also not double glazed so the drunk people at 12 (on a Wednesday so weekends will be worse), garbage collectors at 3 and a random person doing construction at 5... I gave up. I had booked 3 nights and after that first night decided to move to another hotel. I was NOT refunded for the 2 nights I wasn't there, which is at their discretion and shows you even more about their integrity. The hotel I moved to was less expensive and WAY more comfortable. Please shop around, this place is NOT worth the fee they charge.
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sharma (2/5): Wouldn't recommend to anyone travelling with children - Check-in process and the Location were the only thing good about the stay We arrived with family, including two young ones (4 months) which we informed before hand. However on the same day renovation for the common area and stairs began which caused a lot of mess, paint lying around, broken wall plaster everywhere. There was no room for any movement and with 2 kids it was a night mare to go up and down. We informed the check in host about this, he said he would make them stop and go away, however nothing happened and next day they were back again doing renovation. A complete safety hazard situation, and we got paint all over our boots, jackets hands!! Really unprofessionally managed.
Also there is no sound proofing between apartments, we could hear people moving upstairs, open drawers, playing music, everything was audible and it was tough to make children sleep.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone with children, and I am going to make a formal complaint.
- Khaled (5/5): Passable -
- Janice (8/5): Very good - Location The smell of sewage
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional - Location and the staff
Location and the staff
Location and the staff The address isn't very clear, so it is hard to find, and the stairs are very narrow.
- Degu (10/5): Exceptional - You can find everything in that room leaving the house was like a bad news for me.fabouls! I like everything.
- Rebecca (6/5): Great location but make sure know how you’re going to be checked into the property and when! - The property is in a great location, ideal for our needs. It was clean and comfortable. There was an underlying smell which was particularly unpleasant in the shower. The check in process was terrible. I’d confirmed several times that I was staying with colleagues and my colleagues were arriving before me. I also advised what time they would arrive. They were left on the street waiting to be let in for nearly 45 minutes. I was then told I had to send ID as proof of the booking, which I had to do whilst travelling. The whole process was highly unsatisfactory and caused my colleague to be late for a Teams work meeting.
- Andy (4/5): Not ideal due to poor close on windows providing a disturbed sleep and bathroom radiator not working - There were a number of points that I was unhappy with and sent a Whatsapp message to the person who came to the property to give us the keys.
The windows didnt provide a tight enough close and therefore you could hear people outside and when it came to refuse collectors in the early morning collecting the rubbish because of the poor window fit it woke us up on a number of occasions with the many times different refuse collectors were emptying the various bins for drinks bottles and other rubbish.
The other point was that the radiator in the bathroom didnt work and it was way too cold to even attempt a shower in this very small bathroom. This message was sent the afternoon of checking in and although the receipt of the message was acknowledged and the reply was that maintenance would be informed, nothing at the property happened or changed as a result.
The photography of the property was very clever and upon arrival at the property we could see that this was a pull down bed, instead of what we expected to have which was a sturdy framed proper bed.
So all in all, a little dissapointed overall with the stay due to these issues.
- Jane (9/5): Fantastic location, will recommend to others - N/a - self catering but great to find a few teabags and coffee sachets in the apartment The entrance hall was littered with post which did not bother us particularly but may bother others. Maybe the cleaner could hoover or move post occassionally ?
Mattress does not fit the bed frame again fine with us as a double size but others may comment.
- Ahmad (1/5): Bad -
- Chloe (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - It’s super central so was easy to visit everything! Super cosy!
- Quentin (8/5): Nice spacious basement apartment but smells of damp. - Good location, spacious, good shower. Unfortunately smells quite strongly of damp.
- Peter (10/5): Love the aprtment, love the location. Would recomend - Excellent communication from hosts. They arrived to hand over keys early. Brilliant service all round.
Apartment is excellent. Great little kitchen and bathroom. Comfy bed and very clean.
Superb location right in the middle of Shepherds Market, one of Londons hidden little gems!
- Lyons (2/5): Clean the hall and turn up on time - Location great, really good. Right in Mayfair for a dinner on park lane superb The entrance hall was filthy, the blinds on the window were about £6 worth. Its noisy but that’s not there fault. I waited for 54 minutes to get the key. The guy was absolutely lovely and explained they had a leak at another property. I’m sorry that means understaffed. Small well appointed apartment. However I could not recommend
- Nelly (8/5): good location and nice apartment - very good location, very central and nice and quiet neighborhood. Apartment is big with all the necessary amenities. The apartment is located underneath a restaurant which makes it noisy early morning and late evening when the restaurant is undertaking the cleaning and set up of the place.
- Paul (10/5): Great location and value. - Location was perfect. The bed folded up into the wall (which we liked). However, no-one had cleaned under the bed for a long time, so we had to do it ourselves.
A rubbish bin would have been nice (there were black rubbish bags provided but no rubbish bin to hold them open while in use).
- Bilal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miguel (4/5): Disappointing - Location was great The poperty was in pretty bad shape, there was a permanent smell of moist and humidity which was very intense, and even with the windows open this would never go away. The house is not bad itself, but the checkin was poor and then constant bad smell make for an unpleasant stay.
- Roseleigh (1/5): The stay was very unpleasant due to the damp, sewage smell that was circling the apartment. - The location of the property. There was damp which was evident upon entering the property and the smell hit you as soon as the front door is opened. There was a sewage/drainage bad smell around the property which made it hard to sleep and relax.
The person who came to the property to hand the keys and show around was under the influence of alcohol.
- Alexey (8/5): good choice for it's money, clean and fully furnished - More in advance information about address and Guy who bring a key. And better describe process of early/late check-in/check-out. There was no washing machine detergent and kitchen tissues.
- Marcus (7/5): Good -
- Charles (5/5): Could've been so much better. Smell needs to be sorted before it is rented out again. - Location excellent. Apartment was clean and good facilities etc. Disgusting smell in entrance room. Had to leave front door wide open to make it bearable. Obviously not new- various air fresheners all over the room to try to improve the situation. They didn't.
Communication not great over payment difficulties. Slow to respond to email, phone and WhatsApp. Also my wife left waiting 30 mins on the doorstep to be let in despite saying she was near the apartment and was available to meet anytime that suited the host.
- Abdulrazaq (1/5): I am disappointed with this apartment - The rooms are big They deceived me and they lied in their announcement about what the apartment has so that many things are mentioned in the announcement but they are not exist in the reality The WiFi is very weak . The alarm annoys us without reason. They are not helpful about their mistakes so that they don't correct them. I regret taking this apartment. They said it has a view while it is a basement.
- Jack (4/5): Disappointing -
- Katy (8/5): Compact space with everything you need for a short stay in an excellent location! - Kamil who met me was very thorough and helpful when showing me round the apartment. He was responsive over text when I had a question after I left. The flat has everything you need for a short stay, location was perfect. I saw some previous reviews about noise, it was fine for me and I slept well. I felt safe staying alone and accessing the property.
