- Sandra (10/5): So pleased to have found the cottage and will definitely be returning. - Rose cottage has been tastefully renovated to an exceptional standard. The location is far from the madding crowd …. Offering tranquility in a rural setting. And great planting by the gardener!
- Andrew (9/5): short holiday break - modern clean and spacious inside and outside. the travelling to the closest amenities but knew that when i booked.
- Jonathan (10/5): Peaceful, calm and homely cottage in a beautiful location. - The cottage was clean, tidy, comfortable and in a beautiful setting. Everything we needed was available. The surroundings were so peaceful and quiet. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. Thank you so much! The only downside of the property was the washing machine being in a different building and shared between the properties.
- Emily (10/5): Stayed here for a wedding in the area. Lovely cottage, spotless it felt brand new -
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful location. The cottage was very modern with everything you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wish we could have stayed longer Absolutely nothing
- David (9/5): Loved the location and quality of the accommodation - N/A N/A
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Perfect cottages...owner has thought of everything - Everything....beautiful inside & out
The peace & quiet Nothing....microwave hard to suss out ...🤔
- Gary (9/5): Superb - Great accommodation. Spotless and well equipped. Warm and cozy. Great spot for visiting the Yorkshire coast. Remote location down a long bumpy road.
- Cheri (9/5): A beautiful cottage. - The cottage was beautifully modern and clean. It had a warm and cosy feel. The water was hot when we needed it and the underfloor heating was brilliant.
The cottage had been decorated with a lovely Christmas tree and we had some Christmassy welcome gifts.
The general store/laundry room was a lovely little touch. Really beautifully done. The over head waterfall shower didn’t spray out properly, it appeared to need cleaning, so we gave up using it.
Also, the WiFi connection wasn’t great. I was supposed to be working 2 of the days we stayed and ended up not working, as this relied on having a good quality connection. Our phones/TV kept buffering.
We had to use the same towels for a whole week, which it would have been nice to be given replacements.
The village had a power cut for around 2 hours, which meant we couldn’t use anything electrical ~ cooker, kettle, tv etc it was a pain but was rectified quite quickly.
- Stephen (10/5): Nice comfortable modern interior. Felt as we were the first people to use this poperty - Very clean, everything you could want!
- Heidi (10/5): Excellent cottage, good location for exploring North York Moors - Great cottage, very well equipped, clean, fresh and very comfortable. We were there in October half term and they had put out Pumpkins for us to carve, nice touch. On site small store should you run out of any essentials. The cottage had a small courtyard but would have been absolutely perfect if there had just been a small grass patch in that area for the dog too. There was plenty outside the front of the cottage and the grounds were extensive but just meant someone had to get up and dressed to take dog out for his business, only a small gripe, we loved our stay.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jilly (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and
- Frances (9/5): Superb - Well decorated and maintained. Everything you needed. Quite peaceful location which is just what we wanted. Easy access to Dalby Forest or the coast. Path round the lake was in need of weeding.
- Levine (10/5): Exceptional - The location was fantastic
- Christine (9/5): Superb - Quiet location but near everything we wanted to see. Good walking for the dog. Accessibility very good, a short walk from car park to cottage, one small step into cottage and wide doors.
Would definitely return. Small window in twin room unable to open this.
The twin beds were low ideal for children. I could feel the springs of the mattress.
- Shirley (9/5): Superb - Fantastic cottage, lovely peaceful location, easy distance to Yorkshire tourist interests. Beautifully converted and furnished with everything provided to make a happy holiday experience. Little store and wash room wonderful additions.
Fantastic group of cottages for any number of guests holidaying together.
Would have happily stayed longer. 😊 Unfortunately, previous guests in our cottage had allowed dogs on every item of furniture. There was black dog hair all over every piece of furniture, including outside seats and cushions, inside lounge sofa, kitchen and hallway bench rugs, main bedroom quilt/cover/pillows, main bedroom blanket. The only fabric that was not covered in dog hair were curtains and towels.
We brushed everything best we could to sleep in bed and sit on sofa, etc
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful little stay - Beautifully done, amazing facilities with a fully stocked kitchen and lots of other bits and bobs! A general store with an honestly box which was great for a forgotten toothbrush! Beautiful landscaped gardens which make it feel really special. A lovely quiet area with lots of villages within a short drive, pubs and restaurants, areas of interest and countryside walks. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing stay. The only thing I noticed was a lot of the other cottages had a fly screen on the doors so you could leave them open in the warm weather and let some air in without letting all of the bugs in! From what I could see, Rose cottage was the only one without one and we ended up getting a lot of bugs in. I'd also recommend bringing an eye mask in the lighter mornings but otherwise it was perfect!
- Mr. (10/5): Exceptional - Modern, clean, peace and quiet. Plenty parking, loads of info and little shop on site is a massive bonus (although we didn't need it this time) Nothing
- Chris (10/5): it was an amazing stay - clean tidy quite good parking nice touch was the bottle of milk
- Celia (9/5): Lovely, well-equipped cottage with underfloor heating - Rose Cottage is self-catering. It was exactly as described on the booking site. The cottage is well-equipped; we found everything we needed. The location was great for our outings, but the potholes in the country lane were significant.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Nestled in a serene rural setting, with private lake and grounds - Rose close cottage offers a peaceful escape with all the comforts of home, making it an idyllic retreat for anyone looking to unwind in the countryside. Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the cleanliness and modernity of the space, which harmoniously blends contemporary design with the cozy charm one craves in a rural getaway.
The cottage is equipped with all the facilities and amenities needed to ensure a comfortable stay, from a fully outfitted kitchen to a comfortable living area, perfect for evenings in. The bedrooms promise a good night's sleep, thanks to the quiet surroundings and comfortable bedding, making every morning a refreshing start to the day.
What truly sets this cottage apart is its dedication to creating a "home away from home" experience. Every detail, from the decor to the selection of books and games, contributes to a welcoming atmosphere that invites relaxation and rejuvenation.
While our stay was near perfect, we felt that the addition of blackout blinds in the bedrooms would further enhance the comfort level, ensuring uninterrupted sleep for those sensitive to early morning light.
Overall, this holiday cottage stands out as a highly recommendable choice for anyone seeking a blend of modern comfort in a tranquil rural location. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a base to explore the countryside, this cottage promises an unforgettable stay. Black out blinds and the underfloor heating taking a little time to cool down, but this could be combatted by opening the windows etc.
- Jenny (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Very modern and well furnished cottages
- Eddie (10/5): Exceptional - Nice secluded location. Everything was ultra clean, fresh and without damage Would be nice to have individual washers instead of a common washroom. Not a major inconvenience though
- Dougie (10/5): Very relaxing - Lovely renovated cottage which had excellent facilities in a great location.
- Julianne (10/5): Peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings and a short drive from nearby villages and attractions. - The interior and exterior are beautiful. The decor is lovely and all modern appliances are fitted. The photo book showing the conversion work is a nice touch. It was a lovely quiet location. We should have done a shopping on the journey in as didn't realise the distance to the nearest supermarket but was entirely our fault and we should have researched the area better before arriving.
- Karen (10/5): Just what we needed and we would very happily return next time we are in this part of England. - An exceptional development of self-contained holiday letting cottages. A really well thought out courtyard that provided us with exactly what we needed. Although there were just the two of us this cottage would have been very comfortable for 4 adults. Although down a long track, once off the main village road, it was not difficult to find. An ideal location to explore this part of North Yorkshire. We would certainly recommend it to family and friends. Everything.
- Tanya (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. - Beautiful cottage with everything you could need, immaculate and the location was stunning, I will definitely stay again. Loved the general store with a few items you could purchase if needed. lovely location for walks and the views so lovely, The dogs loved it as well :). N/A
- David (10/5): Relaxing stay in very comfortable accommodation with 'big sky' views all around. - Peaceful location in easy reach of tourist attractions. Excellent parking available on site. Walks around the nature pond, the hares in the fields were a delight to see.
- Claire (10/5): Relaxing and very enjoyable. - Beautiful properties with neat landscaping and stunning location.
- Katherine (10/5): Modern but cozy home away from home - Perfect location! Very peaceful and tranquil.
Excellent facilities and easily accessible.
Cozy home away from home. Nothing!
- Jenny (10/5): The cottage was gorgeous. Spotless and comfy. Hosts were friendly and helpful. - Super easy and flexible
- Glyn (10/5): excellent stay in a lovely location - everything had a lovely stay in a lovely rose cottage this is only suggestions--a hook on back of on-sute doors for hanging dressing gowns-also a shelf in showers to put shower gel and shampoo on otherwise you have to stoop to pick items off floor
