- Malcolm (10/5): Great place to stay in comfort near Newark - Tanya was great..room was so so comfortable and great facilities with a kitchen next to the rooms Nothing
- Alison (10/5): - It was absolutely spotless. I enjoyed meeting Tanya and her lovely dog.
- Patrick (10/5): - Bathroom and room where lovely, Clean tidy and suited my needs perfectly.
Host was very accommodating and easy to chat to and give local advice.

- Luc (9/5): - Good location, facilities provided and value for money. Great for solo traveller.
- Richard (10/5): Great host, good room and facilities. Excellent value. - Very good at any price. Tanya is a great host - friendly, welcoming, knowledgable about the town. Spacious room. Clean, functional facilities, comfy bed. Peaceful location. Nice to sit out in the garden. Nothing really.
- Josiah (10/5): Book this place - Honestly probably one of the most relieving ways I've spent my money. Was a last minute option I found just to stay overnight in Newark, and hotels were costing well over £150, and I found this place, having somewhat mid expectations. Once I got there, even though it was dark, I could tell the area was nice. I entered, met the other guest staying who was a very nice man, showed me around and introduced me, the room I had was somewhat small but insanely nice, comfortable bed, lighting, just above what I thought. Tanya later came to the garden with her dog (another bonus I played with the dog for like half an hour) and we all talked and enjoyed our time. Was an experience I never expected and my only regret is that I didn't need to stay longer than one night. She is an amazing and nice person and deserves the best Nothing at all.
- Graham (10/5): Just what I needed for my trip. - Tanya was very friendly and welcoming. Kings Sconce is a few minutes walk from Northgate railway station, in a new estate of houses. There is a riverside walk taking you into town, with a park on the other side of the river Trent. My room was small but fresh and clean. Good comfortable double bed. The modern style garden was lovely to sit in. I liked the spacious shower. There is a retail park, the Maltings, just down the road with everything you might need - T K Maxx, M&S food, Majestic Wine, several hardware and bargain shops and Mountain Warehouse.
- Alison (10/5): - I'd love to say it's a terrible place to keep it all to myself. Can I do that? Not being able to wake up in that bed
- Tony (9/5): -
- Roberts (10/5): - Tanya was very helpful and pleasant. The room was spotlessly clean. I had no dislikes at all
- Richard (10/5): - Great value for money. Great location. Super clean and comfy. Nothing

- Alison (8/5): Spotless property, convenient location and friendly host - Tanya was warm and welcoming. The room, shower room and communal areas were spotless. It’s was nice to have access to the tea and coffee. Great to have access to WiFi.
I found the whole stay relaxing and quiet. There was nothing I disliked about the property.
It would have been nice to have a TV in the room, but I understand that could ruin the lovely atmosphere of the property.
- Marcia (9/5): Will definitely return - Not applicable All good

- Neil Houlton (10/5): - Host was amazing, and her dog too.
- Christopher (10/5): So much better than a big hotel! - Fantastic welcome.host Tanya and her sister were lovely and I wonderfully friendly dog, Tilly I thing her name was, although I don’t think she wasn’t happy that I didn’t share my chips.
Possibly the best nights sleep I’ve had for months, sorry if you heard my snoring!
No Breakfast, not a problem loads of places close by to have a relaxing breakfast.

- Neil Houlton (9/5): Great value for money, a lovely host. - Tanya has an amazing dog 😁 The accommodation was just what I wanted, clean and good value for money. There were no tea spoons to make the morning cuppa. If I'd have asked there wouldn't have been a problem. Everything else was superb.
- Neil (9/5): -
- Katarzyna (10/5): - Clean, comfortable with a easy to reach host
- christine (10/5): An excellent stay, easy to recommend - Clean, comfortable property, nicely decorated with exceptional facilities, I particularly appreciated that there was fresh milk, shower gel and even tissues. Well located for visiting the town. Very difficult to fault the property for the price paid. A few little bits of maintenance needed in the bathroom but nothing major

- Paterson (9/5): Half Moon - Visited area before
So keep small local business open.
Decided this time around, forget large establishments.
Certainly be back next year.
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect stay with a great host - Tanya was the perfect host for my two sons who travelled a long distance after work to attend a family event the following day. She was flexible with a late check-in and allowed us to leave a car on her driveway before travelling back later in the day. The rooms were immaculate and perfect for a short stay, very close to Newark town centre for restaurants and cafés. Thank you, Tanya, I'm sure we will book again when next in the area.
- Tammy (9/5): The room was clean and tastefully decorated, in a quiet area. Perfectly located to walk into town. Would highly recomme - It was close to the centre. Easy to find, it had a parking space and was close to a small retail
Park.

- Terence (10/5): Kings Sconce - My host Tanya was very welcoming indeed (not forgetting Tilly the dog). Beautiful home and immaculate inside and out especially the rear garden and seating area.
Large bedroom and bed to die for.
Tea and coffee whenever you wanted.
Amazing value for money and will definitely return! Leaving.!!!!!
- Tania (9/5): Restful and really nice after a long, emotional day at my aunt’s funeral - The house was immaculate and the garden pretty. There was off street parking.
My room and the bed were very comfortable.
The bed linen was cotton, cool and nice. I slept really well, unusually for me in a new place. The decor was chosen with care.
Tanya, my host was friendly and welcoming.
I definitely recommend it 😊 and would stay there again. I can think of nothing I didn’t like
- Amanda (9/5): Lovely host, easy access, good location & parking - Convenience and location suited my needs Would have preferred not to have a shared bathroom. Perhaps leave a cloth and a squidgy so users can clean after use. I felt terrible leaving it.
- Fiachra (10/5): Exceptional - Accomodation was perfect. Host was very helpful.
- Tendai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Garry (9/5): Easy 10 min walk into town - Great location and price only thing I would say is next time the mattress is changed maybe a bit softer one but that's just personal preference. Nothing
- Louisa (9/5): Superb - Clean and well presented room. Shared bathroom across the hall. Small kitchen area the microwave, fridge and kettle Nothing

- Stephen (9/5): 2nd time both Excellent - Second time I have stayed at Kings Sconce. Tanya sends a message checking on check in time and any requirements which is great. The property has some parking and is a short walk from both rail stations and town. Room always ready when I get there and on point. Shared shower/toilet facilities which are always clean so no issues with that.
Really relaxed place to stay. I will be staying there next time I am in Newark overnight. .
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jon (9/5): A very good homestay in a modern house with a friendly hostess. - A very pleasant room in a modern house, with the shower/toilet just across the corridor. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was a small fridge in the kitchen area for my use, and the hostess had provided a kettle, cups, glasses and tea/coffee. There was also a microwave, had I needed to heat up a meal. Essentially, I stayed in a small private area of my own on the gorund floor, with the host famility living upstairs, and therefore I was in my own space. The hostess was welcoming, knowledgeable and interesting to talk to, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this homestay, or in returning if I need to overnight in Newark in the future. (It is also extremely convenient for Northgate station!) The only thing I would suggest might be helpful, which I forgot to mention whilst there, would be a small table in the room for working on a laptop. But that's a minor issue and didn't detract from my enjoyment of my stay.
- David (9/5): Superb -

- David (9/5): Very nice lady excellent place - Everything A tv in the room would have been nice
- Paul (10/5): Excellent host, room, facilities and very good value - Very comfortable and clean and great location near the town and shops
- Caroline (3/5): Good until the dog messed everything up. - There was a large young dog that had not been trained. It was allowed the run of the facilities, including the bedrooms. It jumped up and marked clothing after having been in the river and either sat in or pee’ed in one of our open suitcases. Everything had to be washed, including the fabric case itself. The host was a lovely lady but she did not appreciate that we did not expect to have to deal with a dirty dog when paying for two bedrooms for the night. Not good.
- Brown (10/5): Lovely Host - Tanya was very polite, helpful. Room was very clean and very comfortable.
- Mr (10/5): Exceptional - I booked for my brother ,he said it was very clean
