- Mike (10/5): - Everything,was a beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. N/A
- Mark (10/5): Great place to escape to and use as a base to explore this part of Wales - really lovely stay. - Lovely property, Kate was really welcoming and everything had been thought through so well - there was everything that I needed. Very peaceful location and felt very at home. Nothing it was a great property. Only factor I missed [my fault] was that the property had no internet so I had to work using my hotspot and it changed our plans a bit. I just expect internet these days. It will make me pay better attention.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Cosy cottage with beautiful views - Swallow Barn was fabulous -- the host met us on arrival to talk us through everything we needed to know, and said goodbye to us when we left. Everything we needed was there, plus extra, and there was a lovely tray of Easter goodies waiting for us on arrival too. The bed was superbly comfortable and the shower was beautifully hot (which we needed, given the weather!) and we enjoyed watching a DVD in the evening with the log burner on. The views over the valley were superb and we were close to everything we wanted to do -- and the drive over the Brecon Beacons was amazing. Bravo and thank you! There was nothing we didn't like -- everything was perfect.

- martin (9/5): Ideal for those who want to get away from it all. - Stunning location, very quiet, with magnificent views. Very peaceful, with some wonderful walks nearby. The property was extensively equipped and comfortable. There was nothing to dislike.
- Sophie (8/5): -
- Helga (10/5): Hidden gem in the mountains - Well equipped with everything that you need. Very comfortable, beautiful few, spotlessly clean. Nothing
- Eva (10/5): Swallow Barn is a stunning cottage for a cosy weekend with friends. - The property is beautifully located and perfect for a weekend getaway away with friends (and a dog). Lovely hosts! We cooked and had all the utensils we needed. We were very comfortable. The very well equipped kitchen would benefit from oil and vinegar for the guests and the showers from some shower gel.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place, the highlight of our trip, wish we could have stayed longer, it was so relaxing. Beautiful place and surroundings. The owners’ two dogs and cat who came to hang out on our doorstep and be cuddled was an extra treat, pure relaxation:)
- E (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely and quiet. Beautiful cottage with everything that you could possibly need.

- Kate (9/5): Cosy and peaceful - Great peaceful location, beautiful views over the valley, thoughtfully and comfortably furnished, friendly host and some lovely (steep!) walks nearby.
The games room was well furnished, though the table tennis table was broken when we went and the pool table was uneven, which was a bit disappointing. Some of the leaflets and menus could do with refreshing too.
Overall the place was lovely and we'd be happy to book again if we decide to return to the area in the future.
- Rob (10/5): Really lovely barn conversion, incredible location and the views are stunning. The owner of the property was a pleasure - We loved everything about the property. Absolutely nothing!
- Steven (10/5): Perfect for us in every way, great location, fantastic facilities, an amazing place to stay if you wish to explore Mid W - Everything, the layout, the interior design, the log burner. We loved it here, everything was perfect for us on our mini break. There isn’t anything we didn’t like here.
Perfect get away
- Rudi (10/5): Cosy Weekend Break - We really enjoyed the nature and comfy feeling the accommodation provided. Kate was really friendly and accomodating. Was so nice to arrive to a warm and well lit cottage. Being dog lovers it was great to spend some playfull time with Kate's friendly dogs. Nothing

- Karen (10/5): Gorgeous cottage in stunning and peaceful location. - When we booked this mini break, we wanted to get away from the summer crowds and that is exactly what we accomplished. The location was a revelation- an area of Wales we were not overly familiar with. It is stunning! The views from the cottage are outstanding. The area is blessed with mile after mile of pothole and traffic free roads and gorgeous views round every corner. The cottage itself is delightful. Every detail is perfect. It feels like you are living in the pages of a country lifestyle magazine! Also needs to be said that it is a great place to bring a dog- ours loved the resident canine companions. The slate and gravel paths around the property, as well as the slate flooring throughout the ground floor, make it perfect for reducing ‘muddy paw’ anxiety! There was nothing to dislike
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb -
- Mickael (10/5): Lovely little cocoon - Quiet and relaxing place, dog friendly, with amazing views, very comfortable. It felt like home.
- Ann (10/5): We enjoyed our stay so much and would live to return at a future date. - The layout of the property. The ‘conservatory’, the kitchen, living/dining, the mezzanine and bedroom were all very well suited to purpose.
The garden was a delight and the view from the front was stunning.
Diolch am benwythnos hyfryd yn Llanwrtyd.
- Emma (9/5): Superb - Beautiful cottage. We loved our brief one night stay. We would have liked to stay longer! Thank you.
- Claire (10/5): Out of this world ❤️ - Like being a kid and being at my grandparents house ❤️ we wanted to take our granddaughter out of the norm and she adored it!!!! That we didn’t stay longer!!!
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. Beautiful, quirky property. Rural, quiet, peaceful. Kate is great and we loved being visited by her two dogs. Had everything we needed for our family trip ☺️
- Javier (9/5): Very family friendly, great for a quiet break and to explore the area - Welcoming host, gave us a lot of information on things to do locally and a bit further. Welcome tray with some goods. Loads of books and games in the barn to play. Pool was a nice plus. That we could not stay for longer!
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Superb getaway from the stresses of the modern world - A fabulous property in a relaxing rural location. We will definitely be back. Nothing
- Doble (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderfully secluded area. Calm and peaceful with stunning views. Great place to use as a base for local walks. Would definitely stay at this cottage again. For us, there was nothing negative to mention
- Anthony (10/5): A much needed relaxing break in peace and tranquility. - Fantastic peaceful location. A perfect place to unwind and explore the local area.
- Robyn (10/5): Perfect. Absolutely Perfect. - Everything! The cottage, the hosts, the location, the views! All was perfection. I doubt we could have found a more heavenly place to stay. We loved the dogs, the bird feeders outside the door with all the different birds visiting, the squirrels playing on the lawn, the fire burning on our arrival, the games room and the advice from Kate of places to see. I cannot help but wax lyrical about Swallow Farm, perfect! There was nothing that could be improved. It was just incredible.
- Julia (10/5): excellent - Absolutely wonderful! Spacious, with everything and more you could wish for. We could even enjoy the rainy days as we played billiard and enjoying the evenings on comfy sofas and with the wood stove. Hosts and dogs and cat very friendly :-)
- Teresa (10/5): We had the best time, stayed here for 3 nights but we should have stayed longer as there are so many walks to complete. - Very comfortable with a cottage feel.. with everything you need included. Clean and homely. Brilliant location with great walks on your doorstep. Our dogs loved the garden with the views of the countryside and sheep. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Short break to a wonderful location. - Loved the quietness, the standard of finish in the property, the dogs, everything! Location was great, just far enough away from civilization to be secluded but not so far to be inconvenient. The barn itself was lovely, felt like a comfortable home rather than rental accommodation and the owners were very friendly and welcoming, but respected our space and privacy. The photos don't do this place justice either! Nothing major. The property is dog friendly as long as your dog doesn't like to sleep with you or get on the sofa, which ours does at home, so it was a bit of a pain having to constantly be on top of her to make sure she didn't go where she shouldn't. But I can completely understand why that would be a rule with some dogs being huge and fond of rivers! Probably would make mention of this on the property description, or make it more prominent if it already is. Other than that, perfect!
- Dechev (10/5): Me and my sons had really nice time in the barn and we’re looking for to go back - Really nice place, kids friendly environment, comfortable kitchen with everything that you need in, good and easy accessible location
- Lisa (10/5): Idyllic cosy hideaway! - Swallow Barn is set in a beautiful tranquil location, offering wonderful views. The barn has been restored to a very high standard and is extremely well equipped. We had a lovely time and definitely plan to return! Nothing
- Aneta (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (9/5): Extremely relaxing, peaceful and comfortable - Beautiful location. Very comfortable cottage with everything we could - it was very well set up. Perfect for relaxing right there or for taking local walks or trips further afield. Can’t think of anything
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Crispin (10/5): A wonderful place to stay. Amazing views and very comfortable with a very welcoming host -
- Eleri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paulina (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my partner had a great time staying in the Swallow Barn. Very secluded barn with great facilities. We loved the peace and quiet. I would highly recommend The Swallow Barn 🥰
- Anonymous (10/5): totally relaxing, what a lovely place! Truly unforgettable! - homely, great bird life, clean, comfortable beds, cosy nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Very quiet and relaxing. Lovely accommodation, with everything we needed. Would stay again! - Kate was there to let us in and show us around. She was very helpful with local information too. Cannot find anything we did not like.
- Charlie (10/5): Fantastic location, welcoming hosts, lovely cottage. - Picturesque location, spotless on arrival, Christmas decorations were a nice touch, great selection of games provided, charming and helpful hosts. Issues with the shower but our hosts kindly made the bathroom facilities in the main house available to us so it turned out to be a very minor inconvenience.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
