- Richard (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. - Stunning building steeped in history with beautiful gardens, terraces and spotless, super comfortable spacious rooms with loveky bathrooms. The staff very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast with eggs from.own hens, home made jams just delicious. Nothing to not like.

- Dannie (10/5): Pazo Arreten is a hidden gem! - What a treat after a long day on the Camino de Santiago!! We spent 2 nights here.
Antia at the front desk was fabulous! She checked us in quickly and gave us a history tour of the beautiful property. Our room had a lovely view and even a bathtub...perfect for relaxing after the hike.
Dinner in their intimate dining room was excellent and the staff was incredibly attentive. Breakfast was included and offered ham, cheese, fruit, croissants and various other items. They also offer a made-to-order entree such as scrambled eggs.
Be sure to take time to wander around the property and enjoy the vineyards, flowers and koi pond! Everything was wonderful!
- Anne (10/5): -
- Ian (10/5): -
- Marie Joseph Edouard Jerome (8/5): Expensive for the limited range of services provided - the location, the service the food portions
- Sorin (9/5): -
- Jane (10/5): Amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay. - What a beautiful place. A refuge after a long day on the Camino. The staff were so welcoming and the room was spacious and clean. It is situated in a working vineyard, and the 400 year old building makes you feel as if you are in a an old Hemingway novel. There is an excellent restaurant on site, another boon for a weary traveler. Absolutely nothing. Everything was above expectation.
- CATALINA (10/5): -
- Cox (10/5): - Great place
- Jackie (10/5): A very welcome and exceptional treat after a long walk! - Stunning location and beautiful historic building
- Caroline (9/5): Lovely property- with lots of nature around. Chickens. plants. views - In quiet countryside. Beautiful property. Well appointed rooms . Popular location for weddings apparently. Staff super friendly & helpful Nothing really. But be aware it’s not near town.
Good restaurant for dinner. Breakfast full service
- Kristin (9/5): - Beautiful grounds, comfortable room Unfortunately there was no hot water in the morning-though this was fixed fairly rapidly, we had to leave to start the Camino

- Tina (10/5): - A fantastic place – the location is almost impossible to describe. The staff were so kind and helpful, and we had some truly wonderful and peaceful days in the most perfect surroundings.
- RAMON (9/5): -
- Mary (10/5): Luxury and Nature in a beautiful restored historic hotel! Exceptional hospitality! - We were so spoiled at Pazo Arreten while walking the Camino De Santiago. We were made to feel very welcome and cared for. Antia was particularly kind, and went out of her way to be certain that our needs were met. She greeted us at the door, explained the history of the hotel, helped us in our room, and translated for us in the restaurant. The room was very comfortable, and the food in the restaurant delicious. The hotel has an old-world historic charm that made the visit very memorable.

- RClaros (10/5): Beautiful property , - Beautiful property , friendly and helpful staff Nothing
- Guilherme (10/5): -
- William (10/5): Like staying in a magical palace! - Very comfortable bed in a spacious room. Service at reception and checkin was exceptional. An unbelievably fabulous breakfast. Nothing.
- LOUIE (9/5): The property is lovely and the staff are excellent. - Pazo Arreten is a beautiful property, well-cared for and the accommodations are great. Staff were caring and attentive. Our breakfast was very good. We even purchased a bottle of the wine made by the winery. The bathrooms could use an update to the present time. After a long hike on th Camino Portugués, my husband wanted to soak in the tub. But there was no way to prevent the water from emptying in the tub. They offered no tub plugs! The lighting in the bathroom made it difficult to do morning routines too.
- jean luc (9/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): - Hotel maravilhoso....lindo
- Miguel Angel (10/5): -
- Ballard (10/5): Magnificent - The hotel was off the beaten path so it was quiet. The entire place was magical in a natural beauty and landscape sort of way. Fruit trees, flowers, grape vineyard and relaxing goldfish and koi pond. I can’t say enough kind things about this hotel.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Fantastic stay - Lovely hotel and fantastic food! Would get 10/10 if booking a taxi from the Camino had been possible. We struggled to book one and all the numbers the hotel had did not respond.
- Lynn (8/5): beautiful Location - The location is just outside of the town center of Padron, perhaps not walking distance for some people. Though I did walk back from town once (during the daytime) I mostly used my car. But it was much nicer to stay in this beautiful environment than town. The price was good for this time of year. And parking on site is included. There was not much staff on because of the season. It was not really conducive to having drinks in the afternoon or early evening. I thought there was no restaurant on site except for breakfast (due to website) so I made other plans for dinner but when I checked in, they asked if I wanted to have dinner there so that was confusing. We only had breakfast there which was fine.
- Sally (10/5): Clean and comfortable with a fantastic breakfast. A bit pricey - The thing I liked most was the wonderful young girl at the desk when we checked in. She was so very kind and accommodating. She told us a lot about the history of the lodge and about the culture of the area. She was so intelligent and so very interesting. She made our stay very special and went out of her way to be kind. We felt it was overpriced. We were hoping the hotel had retained a lot of the original charm and character but everything except the outside has been redone and is very modern. The breakfast, however, was absolutely FABULOUS!
- Marie (9/5): -
- Marie (7/5): - Fantastic buildings. Odd planning. Large areas almost empty. Nice rooms. The restaurant needed to be paid separately. Did not seem to have a coordinated approach with the hotel. Very expensive and low value for money. Payment upfront felt odd. Odd furniture and plenty of rules for no reason.
- Shannon (10/5): - Sensational
- Casermeiro Carmona (10/5): -
- Moreno-Dodson (10/5): A true gem. An oasis of peace. Only 25 walking to Camino, you will find an extraordinary true Galician property with tra -
- Inez (10/5): - This really was a wonderful surprise. The accommodation was excellent .The room spacious and clean .Everything was perfect I will definitely stay here again.
- Luke (10/5): - Fantastic stay. Awesome building. The General Manager was kind enough to show us into the original church in the building.
Breakfast was lovely!
Pack food to take with you as there are no close dinner locations.
- Elizabeth (5/5): Had been looking forward to this hotel, but was disappointed. - The property is pretty and in a remote area. It really did not feel like a hotel as there were not many people around. It is a fair distance from the town so, in terms of eating, there is little choice. Luckily, the restaurant in the hotel was open. The food was good, but overpriced. My croquettes were cold inside although the manager said he had cut them open and they were fine! The remaining portion was then heated up. Also, there is not really anything comfortable to sit on outside apart from metal chairs with small tables.
- Paola (10/5): -
- Steve (7/5): By the time you add up the cost of the food, taxi and room, its not worth it to stay there. - The grounds and peaceful nature of the hotel The price of the dinner was crazy expensive. We were charged 12 E for two slices of bread each. The dinner portions were small. The breakfast was pretty measly too. I wouldnt stay here again because of that. You are hostage to the location and cant go anywhere else, so you have to eat there. Then they soak you for the food.
- Fabian (8/5): Tiene mucho potencial aun no aprovechado - El edificio El baño
- HERBERT (9/5): Lovely day in the vineyard. - Unique facility, great architecture and amazing gardens. Staff was friendly and efficient. Nice serene ambiance. Needs gym/pool/hot tub.
- daniela (10/5): -
- Susan (8/5): -
- Tammy (10/5): Dreamy in every way! A wonderful place to stay!!! - Gorgeous property with amazing history and beautiful vineyards! Wonderful staff!!! Everything was awesome!
- jaime (8/5): - El entorno.
- Rowland (1/5): Best to avoid this venue. Expensive and no service. - The farm and property is beautiful but that’s where it ends Arrived at 14.30. Told early checkin not possible even though we could see many rooms were ready. ‘4 star’ hotel but no food available at all until dinner (note venue is far away from everything). Asked for a glass of wine and they didn’t have any (note the irony they are a wine farm). Asked to speak to the manager but was informed she was off site (15.00 in the afternoon). She eventually did phone but could not offer a solution to our concerns. Very arrogant. We were looking forward to this stay and it was a massive let down. I strongly recommend you avoid this place. It’s expensive and there is no service.
- Carlos (9/5): -
- joao (9/5): -
- Emilie (10/5): - Loved being close to Santiago de Compostela but in a local town. Better food and authentique vibe! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the property is gorgeous!
- E.C.E. (8/5): -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Attention to detail - clean - wonderful staff A swimming pool - would just complete the place.
- Cherie (10/5): Beautiful resort with a literary history - This was a beautiful place, with a fascinating history (Rosalie de Castro had lived there while writing some of her most significant books). Rooms are spacious and well appointed; common areas are welcoming and lovely. There's a beautiful little chapel on the property as well. Staff is engaging and helpful. The restaurant was not open for dinner while I was there, but staff drove us to a nearby (and excellent, if pricey) restaurant. The breakfast was excellent (but plan on settling in; it is lovely and the chef is very accommodating, but not quick). For those walking the Camino, it is located very close to the trail, but a 25 minute walk away from town. There was hardly anyone staying there when I visited, such that it was almost eerily quiet. Would have appreciated another outlet or two in the room.
- Maria (1/5): Bad - Place is beautiful. Staff was great. I got 5 bites on my arm and my husband 16 bites. They look and feel like Bed bug bites. Not spiders, not mosquitoes. We called the hotel after two days. They acted surprised and said "sorry" and that they will check.
I would never wish this nightmare to anyone.
- Gabrielle (10/5): It is a short walk off of the Camino but well worth it. We loved our stay at this beautiful property. - This historic property was beautifully remodeled with all of the modern comforts.
- Dougal (9/5): A lovely parador-esque property with everything, except noise control, just perfect. - I've been parador-hopping, solo on my bicycle, all over Spain. When booking(dot)com offered me this property it exuded a lot of parador vibe.
The property, in real life, did not disappoint. I was provided with a lovely combination of quality accommodation encapsulated within centuries of wonderful history.
Possibly the highpoint of my stay - of no interest to most - was the accommodation provided for my bike. My tired and dusty bike spent the night in the monk's room right beside the chapel. Happy bike.
Dinner, white linen dining, outdoors in the main courtyard, was also quite lovely. The limited menu was a little bit disappointing, but what was provided was very good. It is not be too difficult to adequately sound proof such thick walled stone buildings. Sure, ancient wooden floors and ceilings can be a liability, but the door from the corridor should not be transmitting every conversation and suitcase thump as if it were tissue.
There's an ongoing issue with how the property presents on google maps. The app takes you to their 'back door', and it's difficult to even work out where the main entrance is from there. In retrospect, it'd also have been a total PITA trying to get there on my bike. It'd already been a long hot day. Thankfully there was a buzzer, and the lovely young man on reception walked down and let me in.
- Roberto (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place. Great restaurant. Absolutely to recommend!
- Kevin (8/5): Great hotel but not for pilgrims and dinner is overpriced - Breakfast was great. The room was great. I was on the Camino and the location didn't work. It is about 2km away from the village. Also, the dinner was way overpriced! I felt stuck at the hotel because it was so far from the town and I felt like I had to have dinner there. The choices were limited, no one was at the restaurant but me, and the price was very expensive!
- Irmina (10/5): Beautiful old mansion renovated with love and attention to detail. - Amazing place with 400 years of history. The personel was very friendly. The family runs also a restaurant 1 km away - highly recommend as well!
- Tomas (9/5): A Pazo beautifully restored… - This is an amazing place! Waze and Google maps spent quite find it, but when you get there it is beautiful. Steeped in history and lovingly restored. Really enjoyed walking around the vineyard and gardens. This place keeps bees! Awesome! (Don’t worry, they are well away from main areas and won’t disturb anyone!) Hard to find on map apps!
- Dana (10/5): My highest ratings for a lovely stay - A gorgeous property, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The staff was welcoming and happy to answer any questions I had. I had a wonderful massage. Breakfast was a little basic but was still all I needed and more! Overall 10/10 I have no complaints about this property, I would recommend it to anyone!
- Anne (9/5): Quiet retreat - Stunning place with vineyards and nature.
The rooms,and view exceptional
Quiet retreat
Breakfast was good It is a nice 25 min walk into town (downhill)
No WIFI (or it wasn't working)
Nothing else
- Ron (9/5): Beautiful property but not full service. - The front desk staff (both of them) went above and beyond to help us (example: we were lost and they offered to come and find us). The property is beautifully tended with lovely gardens, clean and spacious open areas, and nice guest rooms. The breakfast was generous and excellent. The "house" wine was very good. It is off the main track and difficult to find with Google maps. Occupancy was low while we were there (Tuesday night), so the bar was not open which made mingling with other guests (something we enjoy) impossible. While the bathroom was lovely, the bedroom itself was tight for space. The sitting room off the terrace had a mould smell. The beautiful terrace off the main reception area had no outdoor furniture and there were no food/snacks offered on-site (compared to Torres de Agrelo which offered meats, cheeses, and breads). What was offered for breakfast could have been offered as an afternoon tapas option.
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - The property is gorgeous and high-end. The grounds and terraces would be perfect for a lovely party.
Our room was very nice, clean.
The staff were very professional. We arrived late, soaking wet after getting lost in the pouring rain. We were walking the Camino. The property is gated and a little challenging to find. We hired a taxi to help us find the place. The staff didn’t blink an eye at our disarray and helped us find some food and drink.
I asked to see the little chapel that is on the grounds and the staff person was happy to get the key and give me some information about it.
The breakfast was stunning and beautifully served.
We would love to stay here again.
- Richard (10/5): Phenomenal. - Amazing breakfast. Wonderful staff - especially the hostess that checked us in.
- Natasha (7/5): Great for events but not ideal for the Camino - The property itself is stunning. Great location for weddings or events. It is a long way from the Camino and Padrón town center unless you take a taxi. There was zero food available before 8pm, the onsite cafe menu was disappointing and way overpriced, there were no accessible electric outlets in the room (had to move the TV cabinet), and the phone in the room couldn’t be used to call the front desk. The wi fi was also very unstable.
- Julianne (10/5): A small slice of heaven for weary Pilgrims - Pazo Arreten was like a small slice of heaven on earth. After 2 weeks of walking the Camino my legs and feet were exhausted. The room came with robes and slippers and the bed was so comfy. Unfortunately it was raining so we could not enjoy the garden. I would love to make it back in the future.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place to stay!
- Marc (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Kirsten (6/5): Pleasant - The building was beautiful. The chapel was a fun bit of history. The dinner set up was very odd and we felt very alone at the hotel.
- Young (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely delightful place, cannot recommend it strongly enough.
Staff fabulous too!
First rate.
- Kloos (10/5): Amazing, unexpected gem on my Camino. Hospitality Plus! - Beautiful , Quiet, lovely place to recover and regroup from a long Camino walk. Amazing food and very attentive staff. A true gem.
