Guest Reviews
- Steve (8/5): Good budget St Albans stay option - Quiet, good size room, close enough to the town centre to accessible. Bed was fairly comfortable, but the mattress springs were noticeable.
- Laura (8/5): Cleand and comfortable - Spacious and clean. I hadn't realised that my bathroom was across the landing.
- Charles (1/5): Horrid - Nothing The bed and pillows were uncomfortable
The bedding was cheap
There was no tea or coffee provided
The bathroom was filthy
The lock in the room door was very insecure
I could hear every noise from the room next door
- MARIA (7/5): -
- Ethan (4/5): -
- Meral (5/5): I thought there would be more space So perhaps a betterThis would be good value for a limited budget - It was clean and bright. It was difficult to find initially but there was someone at the end of the phone who helped us through and was v helpful. The only place to sit was on the bed. I had to walk on the bed to get in. No bedside tables to put stuff on. The shower was a bit rickety and the WIFI didn’t work on the morning we left so no internet or TV.
It was also difficult to locate initially as we had not been sent arrival details.
- Melvin (8/5): - Excellent value for money. Very clean and comfortable. Free parking outside. Shop next to the front door. Would have liked some uht milk potlets or a micro fridge to put a pint of milk in for a cup of tea/coffee (there was an electric kettle & cups)
Only 1 chair.
Wifi stopped working on Saturday, so no breakfast tv on Sunday morning (wifi needed for the smart tv)
- Alice (7/5): Very good value, comfortable stay. - Convenient location, but a little too far to easily walk in and out of town. Comfortable. Good kitchen. Quiet. Spotlessly clean. It was slightly awkward getting in and out of bed on the side up against the wall. The room was very sparsely furnished. A second chair would have been useful, also a small bedside table. The towels smelled very clean but were strangely unabsorbent - perhaps they’d been rinsed with fabric conditioner? After much towelling off, I still didn’t feel properly dry.
- KEVIN (3/5): Not as depicted in photos, at all! - Location was approximately 20 min walk to st albans. Parked in street outside property Noisy with other guests as all rooms shared a landing area. Beds were 2 singles pushed together, not great.
BATHROOM WAS NOT IN ROOM, WAS ACROSS PUBLIC LANDING IN SEPARATE LOCKED ROOM.
- Ana Rita (5/5): -
- Er (1/5): -
- Richard (7/5): - Clean & tidy property Separate bathroom
Only 1 bedside table
- Michael (7/5): Good value, clean and comfortable stay but very basic amenities - For an overnight stay for a business traveller - just needing a bed for the night - this was spot on.
The room was clean and warm and everything that was there worked. The Wi-Fi was excellent.
There are a range of take-away options right outside along with a couple of convenience stores.
The comms with the host was very good. The room was very sparsely furnished. It would have benefited from a small table and chairs and/or a lounge type chair. This would have transformed the space and there was plenty of room for additional furniture. Also, there was a kettle and some milk but no tea of coffee and no glassware.

- Anne (7/5): - De locatie was ideaal.
- Anatolie (10/5): - Convenience and price WiFi kept cutting out making it tricky to work
- Suzanne (8/5): - Clean spacious private Bed nearest wardrobe very lumpy not a good sleep
- Caroline (8/5): - Zak was incredibly helpful. Great to have kitchen access. Room was lovely and warm. The mattresses on the beds were very uncomfortable which is a shame since everything else was great.
- Paul (8/5): - Working away from home during the week can be hard at times, luckily Alban Suites has been a great find and I stay here a lot.
Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are excellent. Nice and quiet with their own en-suite. Room 4 is a little more awkward as the rooms own private bathroom is across the landing.
There’s always clean bedding and towels, it’s always been hoovered and smells nice. While there’s no fridge or cooking facilities in the rooms there is a full kitchen downstairs.
Or there’s loads of takeaways below the suites, although you’d never know as there is no smell.

- Garry (8/5): Alban not Allbran - Clean and tidy.
Pretty new. No TV aerial so TV was pretty useless.
Parking outside a busy takeaway area.
Requires another chair and possibly a small table.
- Patryk (1/5): -
- Patrick E (7/5): - A bit far from town center. Walk was up a big hill. The walk up the hill.

- Chakrapani (10/5): An excellent property to stay in St Albans whether for a short stay or long. - Very clean, well equipped, prompt assistance if required. A well stocked convenience store at hand. Nothing
- Gordon (8/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Vinton D’Souza (10/5): -
- Bridgette (8/5): Functional and good location with easy access - Good location
Clean comfortable room Kettle needs a longer cord
Pillows need replacing
Cleaning fee too high
- Alex (7/5): Clean, simple room within walking distance of St Albans - Clean and within walking distance of St Albans centre. Good value. Very basic facilities but ok given the price.
- Anna (8/5): Very Clean, and Easy to get there, I'd definitely go back again !! - Quite Close to where I was Going in a Taxi,
It needed a Bedside cabinet or a Shelf to put Light on as I do Read 📚 !!
On top of Shops to get what you need ...!! The Radiator was put on as I asked, but put very Low, I feel the Cold 🥶
- Paul (7/5): Brilliant as per usual. - I’ve stayed at Alban Suites quite a few times now, and it’s a brilliant place to stay while working away from home. There’s everything you need, it’s clean and quiet. This time I drew the short straw and ended up staying in Room 4. The same good quality as the other rooms but unfortunately no en-suite. This means every time you have to use the bathroom you have to leave your room, cross the very large landing and unlock your very own bathroom. This is fine for most people I imagine, and it is a very nice bathroom, but in my advancing years it is a bit of a hassle doing this multiple times during the night!
I was very aware there were people in the other rooms so was very quiet locking and unlocking multiple doors. It does explain the constant banging of doors I’ve encountered when I’ve stayed at Alban Suites before, some people are not quite as considerate!
- Ndhlovu (10/5): - The room was spacious and the surroundings very serene, giving us time to reflect on ourselves, talk and laugh..Had shops very close by and the Town Center and other amusement within easy reach. I honestly have nothing to take away
- Harriett (9/5): -
- Scott (6/5): Good location, needs updating. Great takeaway next door - Fairly good location, good kitchen. Advertised ‘garden’ was extremely overgrown and untended with no furniture, so pretty unusable. None of the fire doors are soft close, so there was continuous banging sounds - particularly early in the morning. Bed mattress felt quite cheap 2 of the pillow cases had previous marks on them. Bed side lamp didn’t work. Chair had a nearly broken leg. Generally the room was a room not a ‘suite’ had very little character. The shower head was severely congested with limescale I assume as half the jets didn’t work and I tried for 10 mins to get a useable temperature but it was either freezing cold or scolding hot.
- Mark (7/5): You get what you pay for - functional accommodation at a fair price. - Reasonably priced double accommodation, functional and plenty of space in the bedroom. Well equipped shared kitchen. Could do with a little TLC, toilet cistern stuck, wall clock needed a new battery and bed sheet was marked. To be fair the landlord fixed this very quickly without difficulty.
- Charles (10/5): -
- Martin (8/5): -
- Tunks (10/5): Exceptional -
- Davis (1/5): Awaling refund - We could not access the property. We are awsiting refund
I have asked for this and not had a reply
ed for this vis your websiye As above
- Penny (4/5): Disappointing - The shower was good, though the temperature can switch to very hot or cold suddenly Thus is not a hotel, but a converted house behind & above a post office, with en suite rooms. Ours was very basic. The place was difficult to find initially & to get in, as we weren't sent details of entry & had to call the owner/manager for them. The bed was uncomfortable, with synthetic sheets :(
- Mick (7/5): Ok, but wouldn’t stop again - It’s was ok. But the facilities wasn’t the best Location and views wasn’t appealing
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Having stayed here a few times now while working away from home, this stay was no different. Very clean, very quiet and comfortable with everything you need. A great place to stay.
- Elaine (9/5): Would highly recommend - Loved the shared kitchen, saved the expense of eating out. Room and bathroom both clean and more than adequate. No contact entry worked well.
- Steve (6/5): A satisfactory stay, but could have been better with a little more care and thought. - A nice selection of extra channels on the television. Bathroom was across from the bedroom (past two other rooms, which required keys.) Some of the work seemed quite 'last minute'. (door handles loose etc) No tea bags in the room.
- Paul (7/5): A lovely place to stay when working away from home, normally! - As always the room was exceptionally clean with everything you need. There’s some tea, coffee and a kettle, and a hairdryer in the wardrobe.
It’s a very comfortable place to stay. I’ve stayed at the Alban Suites a few times now and it’s always been very quiet and relaxing. However, the last time there were some very entitled, selfish guests staying in the rooms upstairs who were incredibly noisy. Lots of repeated slamming of doors at all hours, upstairs and downstairs. Very loud conversations on the stairs. When they weren’t running up and down the stairs, it sounded as if they were running backwards and forwards in the room upstairs for hours on end as well as moving furniture. Very strange and very annoying! I can only imagine how they left the room when they left.
This was not how a stay at Alban Suites normally goes as it’s usually very peaceful.
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Mcmanus (10/5): Great stay - Great little place. Clean spacious room. Comfortable shower.
Close to the convenient shop. Nothing really
- Joanna (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (8/5): Quiet, comfortable, clean and modern, with everything you need. Fab! -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Faith (6/5): Clean tidy room, not staffed, loved been back in St Albans - Location was ok. Little further from St Albans city than I thought No one at the property. I didn’t realise it was a key lock system.
The view from my window was an unkept lawn/garden. It would have been nice or have a table and chairs out there to sit on the summer night.
Also, it was not clear that microwave, wish washer etc were in a communal kitchen.
- Helene (7/5): Good -
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Ella (8/5): 10mins - Lovely large bedrooms and beautifully clean with easy access to the entrance
Comfortable Mattress and lots of natural light .
Great shower and hot water The dishwasher wasn’t plumbed in to mains to wash the plates as there’s wasn’t any washing up liquid .
The front entrance was a bit hard hardto work out where the front door was but once I didn’t minutes to access the keys and log in
Fantastic
- Paul (8/5): Very good - I’ve left a few reviews before as I have stayed at Alban Suites a few times now. You can expect very clean, spacious and comfy accommodation.
There’s tea, coffee and a kettle and towels. And a hairdryer!
I found the kitchen downstairs which is very clean, modern and looks hardly used. Not surprising as there is a convenience store and every take away you could possibly want outside. Also, there’s washing machines in the hall. There really isn’t much to dislike really.
- Guy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Another working week staying at Alban Suites.
I was in room 1 again, which is fitted out similarly to room 2. It’s very clean, the en suite smells clean when you walk in and you can see where it’s been given a good hoovering on the carpet. You are provided with fresh clean towels, there’s a kettle and tea/coffee provided. It’s clean and comfy!
I haven’t looked for, or found the shared kitchen. Room 1 could do with a small bedside lamp as the big roof spotlights are really bright! Not very relaxing after a hard days work.
- Paul (8/5): Clean and comfortable place to stay. - My second week staying at Alban Suites. Firstly, the en-suite room is very clean, with everything you need for a short stay while working away from home. There’s a TV which is good for streaming and a kettle if you fancy a cuppa.
The bathroom is exceptionally clean with a shower.
There’s every take away shop you can think of outside along with a large convenience store so even though there’s no fridge or kitchenette in the room you are sorted. Could have done with a small bedside lamp in room 1 but that’s a really nit picky problem!
Room 1 is on the ground floor, which means there’s a fair amount of door slamming and loud conversation as other people staying come in and out.
- Yuvraj (10/5): Nice spacious stylish place at decent price -
- Sharon (6/5): Pleasant - The staff No tea spoon. No sugar. You couldn't sit on the chair as space too tight. Kettle had to be boiled on the floor as there was no socket up by the table
- Paul (8/5): Very clean, quiet and well kept. Perfect. - It was quiet, spacious and very, very clean. As a place to stay while working away it was perfect.
There was a kettle to make tea or coffee but no fridge to keep any milk. No kitchen facilities but downstairs there’s every takeaway shop you could want, although I didn’t use them. No noise or smells from them!
- Evans (7/5): Clean, convenient, basic accommodation at a fair price. - Kitchen was clean and well equipped. Fairly quiet, handy location-no problem parking. Good security and easy check in. All clean (apart from bathroom mat). Price was very reasonable for St Albans. Big wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Responsive communication with host. Not easy to sit in narrow space at desk- couldn't move chair out without moving desk and all on it. A couple of broken items eg towel rail need replacing.
- Rachel (8/5): Worth the money and the location but car is required - Did not realise I got a text message and a photo to explain what to do once I arrived as I was a bit busy sorting out the family. Had no problem contacting the property. Had to park opposite the school but was able to move the car nearer the accommodation. Was pleasantly surprise to see a parade of shops with a post office/off licence/grocery shop near the door entrance. Place was clean, tidy ,room larger than expected, good size bathroom with soap/shampoo/conditioner on tap.
There was coffee/tea facilities in the room but only one sachet of milk and no spoons. Found the modern well equipped kitchen and fridge with the same no. to the the room. The washing machine and tumble dryer was a nice touch. King Harry pub was within walking distance and other eateries noted. Was expecting twin beds but didn't really matter too much as I had a good room mate. It's a good 40 mins walk to the St Albans city station. Black out blinds or curtains could be used. tea spoons in the room would be good. The coffee caps didn't use as the machine was downstairs
- Chakrapani (9/5): Superb -

- Szilvia (8/5): Very good - It was ok.- thanks
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -

- Karla (8/5): Very good -
