Guest Reviews
- María Paz (10/5): Perfect hostel, definitely worth it. - The staff was really nice and the location it’s not that close but they give you bikes to move in the town. I really recommend it. Nice people and they were very helpful and friendly with everyone Everything was good
- Katja (9/5): -
- Alina (9/5): - Such a fun atmosphere...the staff and volunteers make sure that guests have a great time! Would love to return if I'm back again.
Fechadura do quarto quebrada, zero segurança.
- Efkan Halis (10/5): - I arrived in Himara by bus in the evening. Frankly, this was the first time I'd stayed in a hostel like this. But my goal was to spend the night. The staff was helpful. The hostel residents were nice people. We chatted. As a cat owner, there were cats. My only request is, please feed the cats. The cats were hungry, and I gave them the bread I had, and they ate it out of hunger.
- Mirsi (10/5): Fun and great experience - The host is great and very helpful. He even organized movie night, barbecue and a boat party as well which I attended all and it was a great organization. I had so much fun. Great facility and clean rooms and beds. The beach was 20 minutes of walking but the host provided bikes for free so I took one went to the beach in the morning and returned it back on time to then come and take the bus to Tirana which passed in front of the hostel. Had so much fun. I will definitely see you guys again.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Was all round good - there was an electrical fire while I was staying there and they refunded me for the nights I was me - Good location and very social Pretty dirty bathrooms
- Sarah (10/5): - Le personnel était très agréable et bonne ambiance. Les boat partys était super aussi
- Katie (9/5): - Fantastic social hostel - lots of fun! Would definitely recommend. Facilities are passable at best. Kitchen and fridges need a good clean out, and better maintenance. Rooms are quite small.
- Marie-Julie (8/5): -
- Philippa (10/5): The only place to stay in Himare! 🙏 - Family vibes, great activities, free bikes and KITTENS!
- Romario (7/5): -
- Alberto (8/5): -
- Thomas Pettinato (9/5): - Nice environment. Free bikes to get to the best beaches and downtown. Staff is ready to help. Cats all around.
- Haifa Valentina (10/5): -
- Morris (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (9/5): Superb -
- Léna (9/5): Superb - Nice hostel. Welcoming staff. It is clean. Super atmosphere. You can join many tours at cheap prices. Had a lot of fun. A small lamp next to each bed could be a plus.
- Natalia (10/5): Amazing hostel with great vibes! - It has such nice vibes — clean, friendly, and with a great international atmosphere, that makes it easy to meet people from all over the world.
The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming.
They organise well-planned excursions during the day. Himare has some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen! Crystal-clear water, clean, and perfect for swimming. A great spot to relax and enjoy the Albanian coast.
Also different social activities every night at the hostel — perfect for solo travellers or anyone looking to connect.
It’s about a 15-minute walk to the main beach and just 5 minutes from a bus stop, so it’s easy to get around.
I originally planned to stay a few nights but ended up extending for 10 days.
Definitely coming back again!
Thanks, Faleminderit ☺️🙌 It would be great to have a few more shaded spots during the day to make hanging out in the common areas even more comfortable when the sun is strong.
- Alex (8/5): I stayed 6 nights in this hostel, because i had to recover from my leg injury, the people from the hostel were like frie -
- Nichol (8/5): Great social hostel, set back from town, lovely garden and big kitchen. - Great friendly hostel. Brilliant kitchen, nice outdoor space. Dorms were clean and spacious. Aircon in the rooms is great and needed in the summer! It's a short little walk into the centre of Himare, which was great for me as I prefer not to be right in the middle of town. It's easy to get everywhere, and a market nearby, etc. Bathrooms need hooks! and some ventilation. Other than that, it's a great spot.
- Lucie (5/5): Not worth it. - Friendly staff. Extremely dirty shower, very noisy, uncomfy bed
- Alejandrox15 (8/5): Very good - The place has a great vibe with great staff.
- Ross (2/5): Never stay here!! No carparking, cats fighting & peeing everywhere, awful management staff make you feel unwelcome. - Located fairly centrally So much i did not like here. I would never stay again or recommend. Avoid this place like the plague!
Really poor customer service here. No one cared about guests.
Most of the staff are untrained volunteers getting a free holiday. The woman who showed me around took 5 minutes to find my room & apologised saying it was her 2nd day & there was no training.
I asked about the bbq & was told i would need wood etc. The manager actually fired up & used the bbq that night but had no thought to offer this to others.
I was so annoyed to have to street park my car in albania. Who would have paid if my car was broken into ??? Oasis hostel ?? Booking.com
I booked a carpark. There were none as advertised. I stayed here b/c of the carparking facility offered but there was none. Zero-
The frontgate was on rollers & it was obvious if the staff had bothered they should open the frontgate & securely park 4-5 cars inside the hostel area where there was heaps of room. They could not be bothered. The manager dennis barked at me like a dog to move my car 150 meters away & park on the street.
I had no choice but to leave my vehicle, belongings out on the street. Not secure ir safe parking.
The kitchen is open air with no door. There are 3-5 cats here & they are in the kitchen, around food & into rubbish bins.
As soon as i cooked chicken cats were everywhere. A volunteer told me to leave bones for the cats so i did & then the manager abused me. I would never stay here again. It was so uncomfortable-
- Sophia (7/5): Good -
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Deniz, who was managing the Oasis, was ever so helpful and friendly. When I arrived he informed me that he would be making pizza and it was fantastic. A really great vibe around the place and the other guests were such good fun. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay with a great atmosphere then look no further. The fact that I had to leave!
- Eva (8/5): Very good - Property was lovely but the men in himare are very sleezy and it didnt feel safe. Wouldn’t recommend solo female travelling here
- Miki (8/5): Very good - Nice places No provide towels
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricardo (10/5): Agradable - The service for Georgie is really good, in liked the attention.
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Vinicius (7/5): Good - The vibe of the place and the staff room cramped with too many beds
not very clean
a bit far from city center
- Fatmir (10/5): Exceptional - The best hostel l have been , beautiful garden full of flowers , the 6 beds rooms are super nice ; you can rent bike for very cheap price , karaoke night was fantastic , highly recommended Nothing !
- Anand3193 (5/5): Passable - Cheap price and okay location. The dorm was filled with loud backpackers who kept the place quite dirty. I didn't see the dorms ever getting cleaned.
- Esther (6/5): Needs improvements - The volunteers were very lovely.
Having a kitchen was a bonus to be able to cook for yourself.
Beds were really comfy.
The vibe was nice, the people were super friendly and sitting In the garden in the evening chatting was lovely
They have good priced bikes. The electric kept cutting out so did the cooker, power and Internet.
There was a bedroom in the kitchen. Next to the counter... too close. People were sick and then next to food being made? Very unhygienic and it was hard not to wake them up
Bathroom very slippery and poor drainage. It pours into kitchen and I slipped and cut open my toe and bashed it. It was hard to walk for a while after that. Maybe a better drain or a few non slip mats please.
It's not in the town so is a distance.
The chill out area is only benches outside.
You tried to make the most money by fitting in as many as possible without thinking about the travellers.
- Eski (3/5): Poor - It could pass as average if it was not so overpriced.
- Grace (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend, too many bad things added up - One redeeming factor was comfy beds. Himarë is nice - no lock on bathroom door
- Cold shower
- No lock on room or reception, anyone can enter
- No toilet paper when I arrived
- Rude and unwelcoming volunteers
- I stayed 3 nights and had to move bed 3 times because they kept assigning someone else to my bed
- Kitchen was dirty
- No soap provided in shower
- Bathroom always wet and dirty, sink clogged
I feel bad writing this because the owner seemed lovely but the volunteers had no idea what was going on, you didn’t know who was working there and who wasn’t and wouldn’t get acknowledged walking in to check in. I couldn’t wait to leave, unfortunately.
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mason (9/5): Epic, would highly reccomend! - Great vibe, the staff were super friendly and had lots of local knowledge. Hostel was super clean and rooms were nice and big with a wee kitchenette and balcony A good 15 minute walk from town was tough in the heat but you can rent bikes from the hostel to manage that
- Otto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Super nice place. - Nice owner, really helpful he cares about people. Room with kitchen and bathroom and terrace, super comfy. Near incredible beaches, there are bikes available.
- Julia (6/5): Pleasant - The rooms are affordable and hostel management is trying to create a good atmosphere. The hostel is however still very new and lots of small things can still be improved. Rooms could be cleaner, small bed lights, more accessible sockets and making sure the little kitchenettes are clean when new people arrive.
- Mala (10/5): Nice people - The owners were so nice and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable and at ease. I had an issue with my luggage and helped me with coming to the hostel and back. Very social hostel with nice atmosphere.
- Xevdb1994 (9/5): Superb - Social hostel, nice people and activities. Helped up driving to the next city No sockets next to the bed, 15 min walk to beach in the heat which is normally okay but in 40c its not that okay
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional - The outdoor seating was amazing for talking with new people. Every night we had fun and did karaoke!
Owners and stay workers were all super friendly and funny.
Also is family dinners every few days which is very nice! Everything was fine. Bathrooms could have been slightly better. That’s about it
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were so lovely and kind, great with answering questions and providing recommendations. Great location!. Great room and facilities. Will definitely visit here again!! Very very minor, but it would have been good if there was a bug screen on the door. I tried to have the door open so I wasnt using the aircon excessively but was covered in bug bites and had to shut it. Again very minor and not a big deal.
- Lorenc (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money, the best you can get in Himara. Also a great location, only few minutes walking to the city center and beach. Also you have the opportunity to get a bicycle or rent a car for a better exploration. In the hostel you can find all the information you need for the most attractive destinations near to Himara. The owners are very kind and helpfull for everything.
- Julieta (10/5): Exceptional - I felt so good at the hostel, the host was so kind and helpful, he told me everything I needed to arrive from Tirana to Himarë and back, he even called the bus driver to make sure I could go back for my flight. The cherry of the cake he borrowed me a bicycle 🚲 to make my transportation easier. Thank you very much for everything.
