• Danielle (9/5): Fijn hotel op mooie locatie - Erg mooi hotel, met vriendelijk personeel! Heerlijk zwembad, en mooie omgeving. Één middag hebben we zelfs aapjes gezien! Eigenlijk niks! Wel goed om te weten dat het niet super dichtbij andere dingen in de buurt is, maar je kan lekker in het hotel eten. Ook het strand van Esterillos Oeste is dichtbij, waar je ook lekker kan eten en waar je goed de papagaaien kan zien!

We ended up with a room in kind of an annexe away from the nice main building. I felt that the room was extremely basic and not very attractive. If you stay here, be sure to get a room in the main building where there is a beautiful pool and great views. There were no towels in the room when we arrived so had to ask for them at the main desk. The woman looked at me as if I requested something unusual. I didn't like the room in the "bungalow."

Der Pool und Essensbereich mit Ausblick ist einfach toll! Das Essen war hervorragend und rechtfertigt den gehobeneren Preis. Die Thunfischgerichte waren ausgezeichnet! Auch die Cocktails sind professionell und liebevoll kreiert. Wir sind leider erst nach Sonnenuntergang angekommen, konnten den Pool und die Swim-Up-Bar 🤩 aber noch genießen.

It could have been a great experience but details like not enough pillows was an issue. Both my husband and me sleep with two pillows so the first night we did not sleep well despite good quality bed linen. The night tables did not have reading lamps and we also like to read and be able to switch off the light from the bed and not have overhead light annoy the other who may want to sleep. Finally the family kitchen was a beautiful space, but how is a family of 4 adults and two small children supposed to eat using two small round cafe tables?

Poolside room, very loud music all day, and very loud competing music from the lower pool steps away. Not all relaxing. It was a weekend. Once the weekend ended, the music was lowered to a comfortable level and there was only one source. Much better. Traffic noise. The hotel is very close to the road.
• Katharina (9/5): Empfehlenswert für einen Zwischenstop - Sehr leckeres Essen im hauseigenen Restaurant (Two Parrots), natürlich etwas hochpreisiger, aber wirklich sehr sehr lecker. Frühstück war inkl (Tee, Kaffee und auch zusätzlicher O-Saft), Essen zum Frühstück a la carte war auch sehr gut. Der Pool ist relativ klein aber sehr schön und hat Blick aufs Meer, genauso unser Zimmer. Wir haben bei Ankunft ein Upgrade für ein Zimmer im zweiten Stock bekommen, dass hat uns natürlich sehr gefreut :) Die Lage war für uns gut, da wir nur eine Nacht auf der Durchreise hatten. Ist halt etwas erhöht, aber direkt an der Straße und dadurch auch nachts teilweise schon ein bisschen lauter. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt wäre es jetzt für uns eher nichts. Eine ziemlich große tote Kakerlake lag im Flur vor dem Zimmer, aber das passiert in solchen Ländern halt mal, nur sollte man da vielleicht keine Phobie haben.. Das Bett war uns etwas zu weich, aber das ist Geschmackssache

• Judith (10/5): Marala Hotel was relaxing, comfortable and remains at the top of our accommodations choices for our busy travel week. O - Everything about Marala Hotel spoke “pampered”. Sleeping rooms and bathrooms were large, well furnished. Perched on a hillside the property felt private and included a serene ocean view. Our 12 year old traveling companion was so delighted with the pool and swim-up food and drink service that he stayed there every moment he was awake leaving us to our adult conversation and meals while he remained in view. The staff was the best feature of all. They were attentive and kind. You could tell they liked working there which implies compliments to the management. Nothing really. It was my choice to guarantee our room at a higher price but once there, it didn’t seem necessary for our midweek one night stay. Nothing wrong with that business approach. The pricing was fair and the value definitely worth it.

El restaurante destaca por su desayuno incluido, que cuenta con un menú bastante variado, lleno de opciones para todos los gustos. Cada plato que probamos tenía un tamaño generoso, excelente sabor y una presentación cuidada. El personal es muy atento, lo que suma significativamente a la experiencia. Además, desde el restaurante se disfruta de una vista espectacular al mar y a la piscina principal, lo que hace que la experiencia sea aún mejor. El hotel cuenta con dos piscinas: la principal, ubicada cerca del restaurante y del bar, donde la vista es realmente impresionante; y una segunda piscina más tranquila y relajada, situada cerca del área de los bungalows. Es importante mencionar que ambas piscinas son relativamente hondas, por lo que quienes no saben nadar deben tener especial cuidado. En cuanto al alojamiento, los bungalows son espaciosos y se cuenta con una cocina compartida completamente equipada con utensilios, perfecta para quienes deseen preparar sus propias comidas (aunque es necesario llevar todos los ingredientes). Un punto a considerar es que el aislamiento de ruido en estas habitaciones (los bungalows) no es el mejor, por lo que puede resultar molesto si los vecinos no son muy considerados. El hotel también ofrece un amplio parqueo, con varias opciones bajo la sombra de árboles, lo cual se agradece en días soleados. En general, una opción muy completa y cómoda, ideal para descansar y disfrutar del entorno. Aunque el menu del hotel fue excelente, las comidas para almuerzos y cenas, asi como las bebidas del bar, tienen un costo bastante elevado, aunque considerando el tamaño de las porciones y la calidad de los productos, el precio resulta justificable, pero es importante tenerlo en cuenta al momento de planificar el presupuesto del viaje. Algo a tomar en cuenta es que durante toda la estadía el jacuzzi nunca estuvo en funcionamiento, lo cual fue un detalle un poco decepcionante.

• Jacques (10/5): - After our 2 week vacation in Costa Rica we chose the Marala Hotel as our final destination. The staff were courteous, kind and helpful to our every needs. The grounds were well manicured. Our room was very spacious with 2 king beds. The meal choice at breakfasts was amazing as was the lunches by the pool and the amazing choices for dinner. The sun sets from the pool were spectacular. Definitely will return for another stay. A longer vacation stay there.

• Jean Patrick (9/5): Entre Jungle et Océan uni - Un très bel hôtel entre la jungle et l'océan, nous étions au milieu des singes Capucin qui étaient devant notre baie vitrée, notre chambre, les bars et le restaurant sont impeccables. Service du ménage, de la cuisine sont très pros. Un petit bémol pour la route en contrebas, mais nous y reviendrons avec plaisir. Le personnel de l'accueil, des bars et du restaurant sont attentif et parfait.

• Sarah (5/5): Nette Aussicht. - Pool am Haupthaus Die matratzen waren sehr gemütlich Wir wurden bei Ankunft gebeten an der Bar zu warten. Da wir ein bungalow gebucht hatten welches nicht für 2 Personen gedacht war. Es hieß dass ein neues Zimmer für uns gesucht wird. Am Ende haben wir doch das gebuchte Zimmer erhalten. Bei Ankunft im Zimmer waren ca. 40 Grad. Die Klimaanlage musste erstmal gestartet werden (nur eine von 2 hat funktioniert). Service gab es keinen. Nachdem wir so lange warten mussten auf unser Zimmer, standen unsere Koffer immer noch an der Rezeption, die wir dann selber runtertragen mussten. Das Zimmer im bungalow war sehr einfach. Es fühlte sich an wie im hostel, da es eine gemeinschaftsküche gab, wo morgens um 6 sich leute lautstark unterhalten haben. Kein nachtlicht. Vom Bett aus konnte man das Licht nicht ausschalten. Und das Licht war sehr grell und unangenehm. Das Haupthaus war sehr viel schöner. Frühstück war okay. Kaffee schmeckte gut und man durfte aus der Karte ein Gericht auswählen. Allerdings gab es keinerlei Wasser oder Saft

• Stefan (8/5): Sehr schöner Aufenthalt - Sehr schöner Aufenthalt! Das Hotel ist sauber, gepflegt. Das Zimmer war komfortabel eingerichtet, unseres war Bergseitig und daher sehr ruhig. Allerdings kann es bei Zimmern zur Meerseite etwas laut werden, wer die amerikanischen LKW‘s kennt weiß was diese für einen Krach machen. Gutes, ausreichendes Frühstück, das man bequem aus der Karte auswählen kann. Schöner Pool und insgesamt angenehmer Aufenthalt. Wir würden jedoch bei einem nächsten Costa Rica Aufenthalt ein anderes Hotel wählen. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist das freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal – man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Hotel liegt sehr nahe an der Hauptstraße, bei Zimmern zur Meerseite daher sehr laut

• Goff (9/5): Very relaxing. - Accommodations were excellent. Breakfast was excellent the first day. I reordered the exact breakfast the following day, but the meal was definitely substandard. I noted that a different chef was at the grill both days. I wish someone had taken the time to show me around the hotel., If and when I returned to the hotel, I would more than likely upgrade. What is available? A brochure at a minimum. A taxi service or a rental car on the premises would have been beneficial.

• Denise (10/5): Kleine Oase zum Entspannen und Genießen - Die Unterkunft hat einen traumhaften Blick aufs Meer und sogar 2 Pools. Die Bungalows hatten noch einen eigenen Pool, wo man es ruhiger hatte. Am Hauptpool gibt es eine Poolbar, aus dem Wasser erreichbar. Das Essen im Restaurant war großartig, alles frisch. Und das Hotelpersonal einfach super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Etwas zu weit zu Strand zu Fuß.
• Anna (8/5): - Accueil chaleureux du manager Tina qui nous a apporté beaucoup de conseils très utiles, toujours très disponible! Les petits déjeuners sont excellents! Il serait bon de nettoyer la chambre tous les jours. La cuisine est très bonne mais les suppléments des petits déjeuners sont vraiment très chers. Les chambres 2 et 3 à proximité directe de la piscine manquent de calme et surtout d'intimité!
• Britta (10/5): - Ein sehr schönes, kleines, ungezwungenes Hotel, mit freundlichen Personal. Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Meerblick, als Upgrade bekommen und waren sehr begeistert. Das Essen ist sehr lecker.
• Alexandra (9/5): Grandioser Pool mit tollen Blick. - Toller Pool und Ausblick. Essen sehr lecker (etwas fettig). Saubere Zimmer. Check in nicht freundlich. Am Pool wenig Schatten am Nachmittag.
