- Sally (7/5): Good location for the Welsh showground and reasonable cost but needs some attention before visitors arrive to clear cobw - I liked that it was a stone cottage and beds were comfortable as were the sofas and the linen and towels were clean. The kitchen and bathroom units and the toilet was clean. Nice to have sheep over the road with their lambs in the field. It was freezing cold (13 degrees) when we arrived as the house hadn’t been set to stay at a reasonable temperature and took a while to warm up as it is a stone cottage. One bedroom had no side table or bedside lamp which would have been helpful. My main problem was that the whole house was full of cobwebs and many were black so had been there a while. In the bathroom corners, most room corners and windows and inside the wardrobe so I didn’t want to hang up my clothes in there. It was a shame as effort had gone into making the kitchen and bathroom facilities themselves clean but no one had dusted or used a feather duster to clean more comprehensively. The floors were mainly wooden and some hadn’t been swept.
- liam (10/5): - Great property
Great location
Log fire was heaven
Easy check in and out Nothing to mention

- Kara (9/5): - Beautiful cosy cottage and perfect for a weekend getaway. Perfect location for walking and very close to a lovely local pub.
- Sophie (8/5): -
- Mandy (10/5): Fab! Good value for money and very comfortable. - I liked the friendly interaction between the host and myself. The cottage was welcoming and had all mod cons. The garden was pleasant and dog friendly. Extremely good value for money. Nice outlook.
- Anna (10/5): Perfect stop over! - What a lovely quaint little cottage. It was perfect for my needs - a one night stay over with dogs. Enclosed garden large living/dining area. Beds were so comfortable. Kitchen had everything you needed. The bonus of milk in the fridge was great thank you! Would definitely book again. Nothing!
- Claire (10/5): The English Countryside Cottage Fantasy Come to Life - Dove Cottage was a fantasy. I had seen those adorable cottages in villages on prior trips to the UK and I always wanted to stay in one. From the old fashioned key in the lock box to the stone floor in the laundry room and the fluffy duvets on the beds it was just perfect. I was sitting on the couch reading one morning and looked out the front window to see a collie herding cows. I cannot sufficiently express just how perfect that moment was. But for all its rural beauty the cottage was still perfectly placed to see the dams, the Devil's Bridge, Aberystwith, and a multiplicity of walking paths. I absolutely cherish the memory of my stay in Dove Cottage as one of those rare moments when your dream plays out just the way you envisioned it. My only very minor quibble is that the door hinges could be sprayed to make them less squeaky in the middle of the night.

- Bill (10/5): Relaxing and very enjoyable. - Perfect size for us. Lovely quiet location. Two pubs nearby good enough but would recommend the White Horse in Builth Wells for food. Five or ten minute drive away but worth it. Nothing
- Becky (10/5): - Dove Cottage is the perfect home from home - fully equipped with everything you can need and Megan is a such friendly owner, so easy to communicate with and very helpful during the stay. There is good parking free on street, great wifi, clean and comfy beds. 100% recommend to others, thank you again Megan, we can't wait to rebook.
- J (8/5): A conveniently located cottage, nicely presented that is great for a short stop over. 1 small bathroom requires a littl - Great location, convenient to Llandrindod. Nice size garden. Bathroom a little too compact.
- Jeff (6/5): Not as good as other cottages we have stayed in for a similar cost. - Good location Property is tired and in need of decoration and new bathroom
- Nick (8/5): Lovely place would come back. - Lovely cottage, comfy beds, great location and amenities Could have done with a hoover/dust, the spiders had taken over!
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Quite comfy overnight stay in a cosy cottage - Cosy little cottage, with a lovely kitchen and comfy sitting room. Two double bedrooms - so much better than having singles in one of them! Also the host was lovely and understanding when we had to call as we were lost trying to find it! No side light in one of the rooms so had to turn out the main light and use the torch on my phone to get into bed. So no way to read and relax before bed. Was only there one night so didn't really detract from the overall stay - just a little niggle.
- Sue (10/5): Brilliant stay even saw northern lights! How special is that 😂😂 - Kitchen well stocked with equipment, beds very comfortable, garden secure for dogs. Very warm and plenty of hot water. Grass in garden could have been cut as it was long but I suspect it was due to recent inclement weather. Bathroom could do with safety handrails for bath and shower but only small irritations not adverse problems. Parking was on side of road but again not a problem,
- Stephen (9/5): Lovely comfortable stay with excellent facilities within cottage will be back thank you for having us - The property location and it was dog friendly and clean The busy road outside but the cottage was perfect
- Dylan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Damian (9/5): Superb -
- Janice (10/5): Fantastic Cottage in quiet location - Easy to find home from home, clean throughout. Great communications. The beds were very comfortable and everything you would need was in the cottage. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Dove Cottage - We loved everything Nothing
- Taylor (10/5): Fantastic - Lovely cottage - peaceful, nice overnight stay on a long journey to break up drive. Nothing wrong with cottage but if you stay on a Sunday, nothing much is open in the local villages so you need to drive 5-6 miles to Rhyader for shops and food after 4.
- Jeni (9/5): Very comfortable overnight stay - Location to Builth Wells was excellent for our stay
Had all the facilities that we needed/wanted Nothing
- Trevor (8/5): We loved it as far as location and the hosts were lovely. It is very close to the Royal Welsh show and i would definitel - Beautiful cottage that was well equipped and comfortable. Bedrooms were lovely, if it was mine i would hang up lots of prints as it lends itself to the name Rose cottage. Bedding and beds were fab. It’s not that we didn’t like it but the garden could be more welcoming maybe with outside seating. Although the interior was generally clean it could do with a scrub and polish, quite a few cobwebs and not so clean glasses which but otherwise fab.
- Irene (5/5): A bit disappointed overall for the money but adequate . - None required short on bedside table in the back bedroom ,bed comfortable but bottom sheet too small for mattress . in the kitchen waste bag didnt fit bin, not enough cutlery just basic 4 settings of 4 for everything so having to wash if needing extra .The garden is totally neglected and fencing poor for letting a dog out . lounge no coffee tables to put drinks on .
This could be a beautiful cottage with more TLC . poorly decorated ,hardly any picurers or things to make cosy .
Shame really as could be so nice
- Natalie (9/5): Nice property and would stay again, and recommend it. - Nice, clean and well presented with everything you need. I know it will have been just a slight oversight, and it wasn’t a problem, but upon arrival I was expecting the key to be where we were told, but instead the key box was empty and the front was unlocked with the key was in the door so we apprehensive looking around the property as we thought someone might be in there.
- Sophie (7/5): Gorgeous cottage in a wonderful location. Upgrade the cleaning and it would be a 10/10. - Location. Size and space. Character No live tv.
Pubic hair found on sheet
Dirty pans in cupboard
- Kate (6/5): It was ok for what we needed but sadly we won’t return back here - It was a cute little cottage tucked away with lovely views. It was very dusty in the cottage and the floor wasn’t clean. The carpet grips by the bedroom weren’t safe as they were sharp
- Natalie (7/5): Good -
- Rhiannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (7/5): Lovely spot but cleanliness of bedding and couches was a downer. - Nicely renovated. Modern. Free Netflix. Comfortable beds. Lovely spot and easy access. We have been staying in lots of properties throughout Wales and unfortunately were a little disappointed with the cleanliness here, which is a shame. Sheets were stained and covered in hair- major deal breaker for us. ( I slept on a towel). Hard to see the stains and hair during the day but very easy at night. Couches also stained and a bit smelly. Heating took at least 3 hrs to heat the place and we used all of the wood that was available.
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good -
- Kelly (10/5): A real home from home with lots of comforts included. Lovely waking up and looking out at the sheep each morning. Locati - Cute and quaint cottage. Nice quiet location with lovely views. A real home from home. And the doggies got to come. Garden wasn’t fully secure but didn’t present any issues.
- Anonymous (7/5): We enjoyed our trip but we would not return to Dove Cottage. - The property was clean tidy and every thing worked .
Beds were comfortable . I chose this property as it had a photograph of a fenced , secure , tidy garden .
Sadly this was not the case.
Fences broken , long untidy grass. We had to keep the dogs on lead as they could have gone into other gardens. The other safety issue was the wooden deck outside the back door, which was dangerously slippy .
- Claire (10/5): We had a wonderful, romantic weekend. The cottage is gorgeous and in a beautiful setting. We will definitely be coming b - Charming, cosy, had everything we needed and more. It was a little chilly and we couldn’t get the heating to come on.
- Rich (8/5): Brilliant - nice little get away - Clean, modern and just right for what we needed Lack of designated parking.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Milk kit kats bottled water shampoo conditioner towels all provided. Would have liked mirrors to put make up on and dry hair in bedrooms.
- Gary (5/5): Passable -
- Scott (9/5): Superb - Loverly cottage, modern feel, super comfortable beds and sofas was perfect for our stay
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Lovely little cottage - Lovely kitchen and lounge. Big rooms and nice garden (although we didn't go out there) Lots of flies in bathroom but the hosts were very friendly and quick to reply
- Lou (10/5): Perfect - Beautifully equipment. Proper home from home. Little touches like milk KitKats water shampoo shower gel etc. 2nd time staying. Will definitely stay again thank you Nothing
- Bethany (9/5): Easy to get to, beautiful cottage - Lovely space, very clean and great character One of the beds (front room) wasn't very comfortable - I think we are used to a softer mattress and this was very firm so we didn't get much sleep.
- Lou (10/5): excellent - beautiful cottage. very comfortable and well equipped. would of preferred king size bed to be in front bedroom instead of the double.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Had a lovely stay in a beautiful part of Wales. House was clean and tidy and very comfortable. Hosts were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Would definitely stay again
- Anonymous (7/5): nice property, could be exceptional with some added touches - cute looking cottage, friendly welcome, good facilities, log burner, quiet, sheep could do with some sprucing up, paint front door, extra cleaning (dusty), needed more mirrors, limited parking
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional - decor and cleanliness nothing
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (9/5): Lovely cottage absolutely perfect. - Beautifully furnished.
Had everything we wanted
Very clean with a garden which is always a bonus
Views of the Welsh hills
Quiet and convenient location
- Michael (9/5): Great place to stay while doing the Wye Valley Walk. - Delightful, cosy and homely cottage.
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. We had everything we needed except a corkscrew!
- Nige (10/5): we had just one night stay, the property benefits from having been extensively renovated and beautiful views - a beautiful property, a real jewel in the crown! nothing not to like
- Joel (8/5): Cozy cottage - Nice quiet location. 2 nice local pubs within walking distance. Builth Wells and llandrindod only 5-10 mins drive away.
Nice cozy cottage with views of fields and mountains.
Nice log burner. Even though some fire blocks were supplied, I needed to purchase logs locally to get good use of the burner.
(I knew this beforehand though so purchased on the way)
- Vicki (10/5): exceptional - immaculately clean, well laid out, all facilities lovely, lovely real fire, easy parking, lovely garden - will 100% book again
