Guest Reviews
- Rod (10/5): We will certainly stay again. - The accommodation was excellent in a great position. Plenty of wildlife and so so peaceful.
- Emily (9/5): Private, luxurious and family friendly accommodation still close enough to attractions to explore each day. - The farm house was so specious and well appointed. Two adults and four teenagers could spread out with room to spare. So many cozy reading nooks! Although reception was spotty, we purchased some walkie talkies which were great for communicating with the kids as they were exploring.
The fire pit was a huge hit- plenty of marshmallows and jacket potatoes were consumed! Nothing- but a suggestion that a hair dryer would be great.
- Paul (10/5): -
- Silvia (10/5): - The cottage was spotless and had everything. At nighttime, make sure to go out, turn all lights off, and enjoy the stars. The owners, Andrew and Phil, were super friendly and helpful. They gave us useful information about the area. When we were there, the weather was quite warm in the afternoon but very lovely at night and in the mornings. Nothing not to like about this accommodation.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Katrina (9/5): - Charming, peaceful home that felt really welcoming from the moment we arrived. It suited our stay perfectly and worked beautifully for our family group of five adults, with plenty of space to spread out while still feeling cosy when we came together. The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating, responding quickly to any requests and making us feel very welcome. We especially appreciated the thoughtful welcome touches like milk and chocolate biscuits, which meant we could enjoy a refreshing cuppa on arrival. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the bath was perfect for unwinding, and the sunlit kitchen was so lovely it had me wanting to bake scones! There was nothing that did not meet our expectations :)
- Bridget (10/5): Magical stay - It’s a large property with everything you could need and great ‘welcome goodies’ provided.
The beds are incredibly comfortable, with top quality bedding.
The bathrooms are spacious with lovely quality towels and toiletries provided.
Good contact and lots of helpful information provided by the owners in advance of arrival.
It was a magical stay with kangaroos regularly coming to visit the gardens - seeing the mothers interacting with their joeys has provided memories that we’ll treasure. Nothing
- James (10/5): -
- Terry (9/5): - Quietness
- Noriyuki (10/5): - ロケーションがとても良く、とても静かでリラックスできました。
備品が全てあり便利でした。
- Jeanie Bean (10/5): - From our first contact after booking, Andrew and Andrea were incredibly helpful, even sharing tips on scenic routes to enjoy on the way up. We loved the house the moment we walked in. The stay is wonderfully private, and I can’t say enough about the peace and quiet—no cars, motorbikes, dogs, or other people.
We were able to truly relax, lighting a fire in the fire pit, toasting marshmallows, and enjoying a glass of wine. The kitchen is fantastic and fully equipped for cooking anything from simple meals to larger dinners, with coffee pods and tea provided. Thank you also for the thoughtful touches like the fresh milk and Tim Tams in the fridge. The bathrooms are beautiful, especially the bathtub overlooking the trees and grazing cattle—such a special touch.
We only stayed two days this time, but we will definitely return for a week-long stay. The drive into Stanthorpe was not long at all, and next time we will be sure to add a wine tour of the area. Absolutely nothing
- Philip (10/5): - It was such a great place and an excellent views.
Waking up to kangaroos in the paddocks was cool. Nothing it was so good.
- Joke (10/5): -
- Greg (9/5): - Second time stay. Quite location clean and comfortable.
- Carly (10/5): Lovely escape in a great location with so much wildlife at your doorstep - Lovely location, friendly knowledgeable hosts, clean and well presented accommodation with lots of lovely little touches
- Terence (10/5): Would definitely return. - Beautifully set and finished.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- sandra (10/5): Perfect - Beautiful, peaceful and very clean
- Garry (10/5): Brilliant - we were self-contained and really enjoyed it nothing
- Lee (10/5): Very quiet location with everything that you could need for a vacation. - It was a great location, a little out of the way with a little travel each day to get to the wineries. But it was great. Nothing all was very good.
- Wilkins (10/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Wonderful and peaceful cottage. - Well stocked kitchen and very comfy beds. Fireplace was lovely.
- Isabelle (9/5): -
- Pam (10/5): Unwind and relax - Everything.... location is everything. The owners are so helpful. It's just magic...and our second time back ots that good...
- Greg (10/5): - Great hosts, accommodation and location, quiet with lots of wildlife.
- Kerry (10/5): It was an excellent experience - The amenities were exceptional Nothing
- Bomi (10/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): Beautiful taste of country living. - The house is exactly like the images and beautifully appointed with some nice touches including good quality linen. The location is picturesque and I wish we had more time to explore the property. My children loved being able to watch the kangaroos, birds and cattle.
The hosts were wonderfully accommodating when I changed my booking from 3 people to 5 at the last minute which was greatly appreciated.
I was pleased that there were some blinds / curtains to help block some of the bright morning sun but as early risers it didn't worry us too much that they were sheer curtains rather than full block out. People wanting to sleep in may consider bringing an eye mask. Nothing. Everything was easy to use and comfortable for a family to make this little cottage a home away from home for a few days.
- Debbie (9/5): A lovely stay at Galah Cottage - The large cottage is well appointed and styled with everything you may need for a relaxing stay. The hot showers, heaters, electric blankets and roaring fireplace kept us warm through a few cold winter nights. The hosts greeted us and gave us a tour of the cottage which was great country hospitality. The property is beautiful! Obviously it’s a little further out from Stanthorpe, but that means the home is quiet and secluded and was not an issue for us.
- Regenet (10/5): awesome place will come again -
- Chris (10/5): Gallah cottages is such a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. It's not just a house, it's a HOME - This was our second time visiting. We love Stanthorpe region, not too far away, the scenery, the wineries, the nature. The cottage is not just a house. It's a home. You are made to feel welcome. It's all very well maintained, clean and tidy. Love the bird life around us. It's also lovely to see the wallabies and kangaroos in their natural environment. Honestly can't think of anything.
- Adam (10/5): A wonderful and cosy time admiring the beautiful bush land and starry skies while in the comforts of log fire heating an - Beautiful location.
Spacious and well equipped and appointed house.
Large kitchen.
Comfortable beds and furnishings.
- Kristy (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing if you really need to check out from the world.
Plenty of firewood available and kitchen is very well equipped.
The house is surprisingly large with 2 bathrooms one with a tub and plenty of places to chill either on your own or in a group. There is pretty much zero phone or internet, so if you 100% need to stay connected to check on kids then this may not be the place for you.
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (9/5): Ah, the serenity! - Spacious and well appointed, in a beautiful bush setting surrounded by native wildlife and cows.
Andrew and Andrea have thought of everything. The property is rural, so there is no internet. But it was expected and planned for. We just used our devices whilst out and about during the day and at night relaxed and had tech free time
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Very peaceful and magical
- R (10/5): Beautiful setting. Gorgeous home. Tranquil surroundings. Bliss. - The host greeted us on arrival and took the time to explain the key code for access, as well as a few important fire safety tips relevant to the rural countryside location. They were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The views were absolutely breathtaking. Waking up early to watch the sunrise in such peaceful surroundings was truly good for the soul. Soaking in the large freestanding bath while taking in the scenery was the perfect way to relax and unwind.
- Lynette (10/5): Exceptional - The location / scenery is exceptional.
The house is well appointed and comfortable.
A nature lover's paradise on a working farm. Our stay was too short.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic stay! Lovely big house and a beautiful, quiet location.
- Allan+east (10/5): HOME AWAY FROM HOME 🏡 - This is our very first time booking a getaway or been in the countryside and it was thee BEST GETAWAY EVER! From a busy city life everyday to waking up one morning with nothing but just the sound of nature around. So welcoming and we immediately felt like HOME the moment we stepped inside the house. The hosts were there in the front yard greeting us and showed us around the house, also told us about places/shops we can visit, things we can do around the area.
We've never had such a peaceful, quiet and so relaxing time in years. For the first time ever we were all in the family room watching movies without anyone holding/touching their phones 📵. The house was perfect and clean, rooms/beds were so cozy and comfy, kitchen literally have everything we need, and the view was AMAZING!! 😍🌳🐦 it was our first time and it will definitely not the last!
To Andrew + Andrea and their amazing son Philip, THANK YOU so much for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We wish you guys all the best for the future! 🫶
We'll visit again 😊 NONE
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Location and space
Lovely house with tranquillity
Great host
Everything you need for a great stay
However internet/ phone reception sketchy
Otherwise awesome Phone/ internet reception
- Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerhard (9/5): Superb - A place to breath and relax. Beautiful home, well equip in every way. Friendly owners, very enjoyable stay.
- Lucas (10/5): A beautiful old country experience. A few bugs in the country, but a truly incredible stay. - A beautiful location, a beautiful home. The hosts were lovely. There were some minor maintenance items, however did not inconvenience or impact our stay. We notified the hosts and they rectified the issues happily. Very welcoming and homely. I could not really fault anything. Even the minor maintenance items were very minor and understandable small things.
- Vanessa (9/5): Great property, plenty of room, very well equipped house with very polite Hosts - Location was booked for my husband work, he said was great for work travel, was only 10 minutes down road.. No other people around as you would get in motels. Plenty of room for parking and secure because of location.... Many cattle and wildlife animals around so wasn't the usual hustle and bustle of traffic noises...ect Hosts were very polite and generous leaving bowl of apples, pod coffee, teas, timtams and 2 types of milk in the fridge.... Very well equipped stay... Didn't like opening and closing gates, but totally understand is required in a rural lifestyle... Because of location lots of bugs around and they are attracted to light, tip for this is to leave outside lights on so bugs go there first.... Property could have some ceiling fans as I noticed was quite warm at end of day but once sun goes down and there is a slight breeze the house cools down.
- Evan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grace (9/5): Country stay a bit out of Stanthorpe. - Lovely country cottage, quiet, serene & off line(which we wanted). Well thought out, fitted out & presented, great bed- loved it & we'll be back. No blinds/curtains on the windows - we really liked it (very private location), but some guests might not.
- Lorna (10/5): Beautiful property in the countryside - The property is in a secluded area with pretty surroundings, perfect destination for a getaway. Nothing really, we enjoyed everything. However make sure to take an eye mask for the early mornings 😀
- Melissa (10/5): Peace - The attention to the little finishing touches that made all the difference Nothing!
- Adele (10/5): We will definitely be back! Strawberry season next time! - Beautiful house! Everything was perfect. We very much enjoyed the indoor fireplace and cosying up in the arm chairs in the living room. Lovely and quiet with lots of space for our two boys. Everything was immaculate and there were lots of thoughtful additions to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Nothing!
- Aniek (9/5): Superb - Location was stunning! The wildlife, ability for campfire Nothing
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (10/5): Great property that suited 2 couples down to the ground. - This property more than met our expectations. The cottage was very spacious with excellent bathroom facilities for a farm stay. All appliances were in good working condition with milk, coffee, tea etc supplied. Coupled with the fantastic host, Andrew, we were thoroughly spoiled. Although a working cattle property it's location is close to the Granite Belt wineries and other tourist attractions. There is nothing we didn't like about this cottage. The only appliance missing was a dishwasher but it has to be realized we were located on a farm property where water is always a precious resource.
- Declan (9/5): Very relaxing. - Beautiful surroundings. Fire pit out the back. Great place for a family get together. No dish washer.
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jackie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful well-appointed cottage with so many thoughtful touches. This is set in the most serene location. This was our second visit and won't be the last!
- Brenda (10/5): Exceptional hosts, couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Will come back again. - Peaceful and very roomy. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Isolated for quiet but near to a lot of venues to visit.
- Erica (10/5): Beautifully presented, spacious house in a peaceful rural setting. -
- Sally (10/5): A great stay at the Galah Cottage. - My family had a great stay at the Galah Cottage, it's very comfortable and spacious enough for the whole family. We enjoyed the fireplace and views of the farm. Andrew explained everything we needed to know and was very informative. There were many beautiful touches around the home following the Gallah theme. We appreciated the milk & tim tams. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace kept us warm and cosy. There were many wallabies/ kangaroo's around, then the birds/ galah's. We enjoyed marshmallows on the camp fire located out the back of the house. The Christmas Farm was a highlight for my daughter. I enjoyed the walk to the Granite Arch and Pyramid. Stanthorpe Cheese had some delicious cheeses, we purchased a variety pack for $40 to have with crackers and jam. The only trouble was no internet, even with Telstra, we couldn't get access in the house, only a little in the yard. It didn't bother us too much though.
- Neville (10/5): Perfect spot to enjoy the serenity and nature - The serenity - the house - the location it was just perfect nothing
- Tahnee (8/5): Very good - Well equipped and clean property in a nice private location. Nice to relax out on the deck for sunrise and a coffee. Convenient location to drive in to Stanthorpe or do a day trip to Girraween. We stayed when it was quite cold, and the heating wasn’t sufficient enough in the smaller rooms, despite turning on the heaters and keeping the doors closed. We passed this feedback on before leaving the property, though I’m unsure if the heaters will be upgraded.
- Jan (9/5): This was a return visit to the property and was every bit as enjoyable as our previous stay. - Lovely hosts, a well maintained comfortable and cosy property in a beautiful rural setting. A great base to explore the surrounding Granite Belt attractions. Perfect for a visit with friends or family.
- Chris (10/5): A very relaxing two night getaway for our anniversary. - The property was quiet for a working farm and it has a good view from the house. Inside was very well presented and comfortable. We enjoyed the warm fireplace and had it going all night. Animals we saw were: kangaroos, wallaroos, cows, galahs, wedge-tailed eagle, plovers, kookaburra, and other birds. We were allowed to explore so we walked to the top of the hill behind and discovered old fig trees growing out of large boulders and the serenity to match. The hosts Andrew, Andrea, and son Phillip were very welcoming. I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like, which is rare.
- Jillian (10/5): Galah Cottage is a gorgeous country getaway. With so many lovely touches. The kitchen was perfectly set up, the living a - The property was in a great spot with access to all the region has to offer. It is a huge secluded parcel or land, covered in kangaroos and the cottage itself is gorgeous.
- Dzintra (10/5): A piece of paradise. - I liked the ersonal.tpich that took this from a house to a home. It was exceptionally beautiful and peaceful. Honestly? There wasn't anything I would think that could be improved.
- John (10/5): Tranquil place - Owners were very welcoming & ran us through housekeeping .
- Colin (8/5): We had everything we wanted ❤️ it! - The cottage offers fabulous views of the property.
Facilities were excellent and as we were self contained we had everything we wanted.
The proximity to National Parks and Stanthorpe was great and being on 1000 acres meant awesome nights and the property hosts abundant wildlife. Nothing
- Simon (10/5): Perfect, peaceful, easy - Everything! Well equipt, lovely host, built for winter!
- Mark (10/5): Relaxing comfortable stay for a family catch up - Such a peaceful beautiful location. House was very comfortable. Perfect for a family of 6 adults It is a little out of the way if you are wanting to visit the southern wineries.
- Michelle (10/5): Beautiful cottage with gorgeous view. - Very clean and spacious house in a beautiful location. Loved the fireplace! Very friendly hosts. We would love to return.
- Maureen (10/5): Exceptional - The setting is serene with kangaroos, wallabies, beautiful galahs and rosellas on the property. The owners made us feel very welcome; the fireplace and cosy beds inviting and little treats provided. Definitely recommend. Nil.
- Lachlan (10/5): Lovely, warm, cosy and relaxing - We loved everything about this property and highly recommend it to anyone else
The fireplace, bath and large bedroom were all the highlights for us
Even though we only stayed 1 night we still got to walk to the property in the morning and enjoy all the wildlife like birds, wallabies, cows (over the hills) lovely property will be back again!
- Nicole (8/5): Very good - the host was very nice and informative, they also had the fire going for us ready for our arrival.
since we were visiting two areas near by, the farm stay was in a good location between both areas. nothing, this place met our expectations
- Pam (10/5): Exceptional - Galah cottage is a real ife post card. Beautiful wild life to picturesque scenery. From the roos and birds in the morning to the stunning sunsets you will not be disappointed. The bush walks surrounding the cottage are just spectacular! Stay and play or cheeck out the local vineyards, everything you need to unwind and reset life for you and the family is here! The cottage is very large, and oh so comfortable even more so then the pictures show. No curtains no worries,, just close off the doors to coziy it up, pop a bottle of wine, from one of the many amazing local vineyards and cramk up a fire, you'll be warm all night. Also don't worry if you do tend to feel the cold, once again the host have thought if everything, electric blankets on the finest bedding made from linen! oh and such comfy beds. Im even upgrading my bed at home to one of these beds! It's hard to believe you are in a holiday home, from the small gifts, to the milk and Tim Tam's in the fridge. Ps there are.blinds in the bathroom and main bedroom.... if you wanted to close but you will find that hard to do with such beautiful views! The hosts are just so welcoming and friendly make this one of your holiday visits. Not to far to drive to Stanthorpe.... close to vineyards and local native attractions! We stayed a week but could have easily stayed longer! We are going back to experience the winter!
- Georgia (10/5): Perfect location, perfect cottage, perfect hosts. - Andrew and Andrea (the hosts) were so welcoming and friendly, they went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay at the beautiful cottage (photos don’t do this place justice!) So many little special touches made our stay even more memorable. Nothing
- Jan (10/5): Beautiful property with caring and informative hosts. - Perfect location if you're after a peaceful location and don't need constant phone reception. Lovely outlook with lots of wildlife. Cottage was tastefully furnished and well maintained. Hosts were informative and helpful, eager to make sure your stay was enjoyable. Stay was not long enough.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (10/5): Majestical Galah Cottage - Absolutely everything was beautiful from the peaceful location, beautiful house, every convenience that you could possibly want, even little complimentary touches with bathroom products, treats in the fridge.
Knowledge of the area and suggestions of places to visit and wonderful walks.
So much value, we were so thankful. There wasn't much internet available however you really don't need it here.
- Mc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jackie (10/5): Perfection for a very quiet unplugged break! - So very serene and beautifully fitted out. Every detail was just perfect from Luxurious linen and bath accessories to a cosy lounge. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in a there were so many spaces to sit and enjoy the view and feel the quiet atmosphere. Nothing to not like!
- Анна (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic place and would visit again - Self catered our breakfast There was nothing that we did not like. They have a beautiful house and farm.
Great place to unwind.
- Hui (10/5): Great for short stay to relax with family - Hosts are very polite and easy to communicate. The cottage is very clean and comfy to stay. There is no Wifi and dishwasher which can improve
- Alyson (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house. Great scenery. Peaceful. Excellent hosts. Could not fault anything. Even had tim tams available on arrival for a culpa. Teas coffees hot chocolate available. Different milks too. Loved everything
- Jennifer (10/5): Serene seclusion - Well appointed property where you can get away from the everyday, lovely hosts.
- Kate (10/5): Amazing experience and recommend for all families and couples. - What is not to like about this property?! Everything exceeded all expectations, including the location, the views, the comfy beds, the massive bathrooms, the fire pit and indoor fire place. The hosts were incredibly hospitable. They greeted us late at night at the front of the property, drove us down to the house and gave us a quick tour. It was very easy to contact the owner during the stay.
- Victoria (10/5): To wake up in the morning and look out every window took me back to our p. - The house and amenities were immaculate and the location in the middle of the paddock reminded me of stayed on our parents farm. The view from the hill side was beautiful with Mt Warning in the distance.
- Anthea (10/5): Hope you don't get too popular - we want to come back!! :) - The fireplace was so cozy and inviting. The dining room table was perfect for a game of cards (and for dinner). The house was warm even in July, and sitting on the front verandah in the morning, taking in the beautiful view, was a delight.
Tip of the day: park your car around the side of the house when you arrive so that when you wander out onto the verandah in the morning, you get the full vista, unhindered by your Hyundai.
The house was very clean, charming, and had everything you could possibly need for a good holiday. Likewise, the owners were charming and welcoming. Next time we will stay longer, because one night is not enough time to soak it all up. Nothing
- Leonie (10/5): Just nice really. - The location was scenic and quiet a lovely get away. Nothing everything was great.
- Nigel (10/5): A privilege to be amongst the first guests to occupy the cottage, and the ideal environment to get away from City life a - Freshly renovated, beautifully and tastefully decorated, every conceivable facility, easily warmed by the log burner, very attentive hosts There are no curtains throughout which although does not pose a privacy issue, and it is beautiful to see the dawn sunrise, having the option to draw the curtains in the lounge room to keep in the warmth from the fire and create a cosier ambience of an evening would be a pleasant option. Otherwise, nil complaints of any kind,
- Jason (10/5): Galah Cottage is a beautiful home with everything you need. - Galah Cottage is a beautiful home situated in Dalveen. It’s about a 20min drive to Stanthorpe.
On entering the property, the cottage itself is situated past the main homestead where the hosts Andrew and Andrea live. It’s private and has everything you need. Internet is a bit choppy but that’s not a bad thing.
The hosts are wonderful and meet you on arrival to make sure you have and know everything you need to while you are there. We arrived in the evening, 3hrs past our intended arrival time, but they never made us feel like we were an inconvenience and had started the fire for us which was wonderful.
It has everything a family or group of friends needs when on holiday. It’s safe and secure. The photos do not do this property justice. It is just beautiful. Watching the sunrise from the front bedroom while in bed is just magical. We were here for work so
didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we hoped to.
We would definitely recommend Galah cottage and wouldn’t hesitate staying here again.
Thank you Andrew and Andrea. Not a dislike, but be aware that the bathrooms are the only rooms with blinds. This didn’t bother us as you were far enough away from the homestead to still be private. The views from the rooms etc are of surrounding land.
- Noelle (10/5): A home away from home! Hospitable and friendly owners. Great place to relax. -
- Tanya (10/5): Perfect place for a family getaway - It was a perfect getaway for our little family. We loved being on the property and seeing the cows and wildlife! Beautifully presented home, every detail thought of!
