- Robotham (10/5): Hidden splendour of a country estate - Stunning location and surround. Rooms were finished to a high standard, Mark was wonderful, and we loved every moment of our stay!
- Andrew (10/5): Peaceful getaway. - Location. Rooms are beautiful. Breakfast was basic but tasty. Nothing.
- SteveW33 (10/5): - It was like being the lord of the manor. The room and bathroom was massive and perfectly decorated and furnished. Bed was super comfortable and rooms were nicely heated when it got chilly outside. Great selection of teas and coffees were available too. Owners were always available, either there or over WhatsApp. Driving or walking through the grounds was a treat, with loads of wildlife and sheep to see. Only downside was that our room didn't have a lock, which is a bit strange.

- clare (10/5): A wonderful stay at a beautiful property and grounds - What a wonderful place to stay , a beautiful property surrounded by fields of sheep , so quiet , so welcoming of my Labrador, comfortable bed , beautiful and very spacious bathroom with bath and shower, amazing TV and a fridge was delivered within moments of asking . I will be staying again without a doubt Just little issues - a rattly window and the car park was very muddy when it rained , but I know this is a restoration in progress
- Dylan (9/5): Beautiful, highly recommend - The location was exceptional with amazing views and some wonderful surroundings. The driveway was about 1 mile in length through fields with old oak trees and sheep with their lambs roaming freely. There was nothing we didn't like, we are very much looking forward to returning to see how the owners have continued the renovation work

- Nikki (8/5): Would definitely recommend staying at the hall! - Lovely peaceful location. Beautifully furnished. We were not keen on being unable to lock the room door from the outside. That said, we were the only guests at the time (it being out of season in soggy February) and we had no issues during our stay.
- Lisa (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer. - The location and views were stunning. The suites have been tastefully decorated and you are contributing to the ongoing refurbishment of this lovely piece of architecture.
- Jonathan (8/5): met my expectation, nice venue and great room - spacious no desk to work from
- Louisa (9/5): Lovely overnight stay to switch off - Location was absolutely stunning
When I arrived I was met by a lovely lady who showed me to my room and offered to help me with my bags.
I was staying there on my own and not once did I feel unsafe
The bed was so comfortable
Lovely big bath which I took full advantage off
Little fridge in my room was a lovely touch
It was a perfect place to go and be able to switch off which was exactly what I needed
I will definitely be back! Nothing everything was perfect
- Chris (10/5): Fantastic too - Location and room was perfect.
- Matthew (10/5): R&R in the Welsh countryside - If you’re after some R&R in the beautiful Welsh countryside, look no further. Stunning setting, a beautiful building and a very comfy / cosy bed. Will be back 😊
- Ian (8/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): Would stay again. Cosy, quiet and comfortable. - The bedroom was cosy. Bed very comfy. Yellow room. Very spacious. Quiet. Easy access out to the courtyard. Handy as we brought our whippet. Easy communication with the host. The breakfast was tasty. The duvet was a little heavy, and could have done with being a little bigger for the bed, but liked that it was down.
The bed had a wooden foot board and not ideal for 6ft5+ people!
The hosts are working hard at renovating the accommodation, and I'm sure with time the parking area may benefit with a little gravel as slightly muddy after lots of rain. However these are very minor issues and would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

- Kimberley (10/5): A wonderfully relaxing stay in a beautiful, comfortable setting with fantastic hospitality - Mark was so friendly and welcoming, and he gave us a lovely brief history of the place when we arrived. The bedroom was huge, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless and beautifully kept. It’s in the most beautiful location and Mark gave us directions to walk through the grounds with our dog to the local pub. Honestly, nothing comes to mind. They were clear about the ongoing restoration work, but everything was kept so tidy that it never caused any issues.
- Susan (10/5): Will probably find a reason to stay again - Fantastic place to stay
We were in the King room-it was beautiful
Only one drawback-being it is an old building-the floor boards creaked upstairs when someone walked across the floor (king room on ground floor)
- Owain (10/5): - It was great. We loved the room, the location, it was all great
- Ros (9/5): Beautiful suite, stunning location, peaceful yet within easy reach of Welshpool. - Perfectly as described - stunning, part ruined, gothic mansion, surrounded by rolling hills and wonderful views. Suite was exceptional - very beautiful, huge, with a bathroom to die for! Soooo peaceful. Nothing really but I stayed alone and only saw someone on arrival - who kindly carried by bag to my suite. At times I felt I was the only one in the house so might not suit lone travellers of a nervous disposition!
- Victoria (10/5): -
- Sandeep (7/5): Great stay but is in the middle of nowhere - Great view, clean, comfortable, large rooms Transport is not available, no option of food at property or nearby
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Excellent, can’t wait to stay again -
- Neville (10/5): Simply excellent value for money. -
- Josh (9/5): Peaceful, warm & welcoming. Did not want to come home, we will be back absolutely and will be recommending to everyo - The location, the staff, the room (especially the bathroom facilities). Only issue was that the room did not have a key, it can be locked from the inside just not when you’re going out. Regardless of this, we still felt very safe. Would be 10/10 just the key situation.
- Jeanette (10/5): The house is beautiful in a beautiful setting and we had an amazing stay. - A beautiful house in an amazing setting. I have loved this house for over 20 years and to have the opportunity to stay was amazing. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The owners enthusiasm and drive to renovate this property is amazing and I can appreciate how demanding it must be. They should be applauded for all of their hard work so far and for their continued efforts in bringing this property back to life. The room itself was beautiful and with more co-ordinated furniture and bedding choices plus attention to detail with the finish it could be even better. However I very much appreciate the house is being renovated and as a consequence it’s a work in progress so feel that it’s only to be expected that there will be a few negatives. I very much admire the owners drive and ambition for the hall and gardens and to have the opportunity to stay far outweighed any shortcomings.

- Anna (8/5): -
- Kate DCG (9/5): What a wonderful stay! Felt very lucky to find this beautiful hidden gem and be able to stay here. - An option at some point for various cold and hot breakfasts would be nice - to have in the beautiful conservatory?
- Gina (8/5): Very good - Lovely location, beautiful scenery, very welcoming
- Dan (9/5): -
- .Bradley. (1/5): Checked in and immediately left - We stay in a lot of hotels and have never walked out without staying somewhere- the room was badly renovated and not secure (there was a second door leading to a back staircase we couldn't lock). With no sound proofing you could hear every footstep from the very creaky bare floors, the TV had no signal and the few lights in the room left it far to dark to read. Our room doors were period stripped pine and would offer no time in the event of a fire, nor were there any directions or plan to help oritentate you with the nearest exit which due to the size of the building would be unfindable in an emergency. This isn't a serious (or safe) hotel and should absolutely not be on booking.com
- diana (9/5): A lovely break from city Travel Lodges! - It was lovely to stay somewhere unusual.
The country setting
The historic building
The unique furniture and fittings
The warm welcome
The unique touches of hospitality....
- Martin (7/5): We would consider returning - a very good stay. - The space was great.
The bed was very good with a very warm covering. We didn’t have breakfast.
Unfortunately the WiFi and TV were very poor.
There were a number of small practicality issues.
- Hoddle (10/5): -
- Pauline (10/5): - Picturesque location. We including our dog Trevor has the most amazing stay. The rooms were incredible. Mark and Davina were the perfect hosts.
We will absolutely be back for sure.
- Matthew (10/5): Great price, peaceful, clean, great facilities and spacious room. Definitely staying again - Just wow, excellent furniture and spectacular grounds It’s apparently haunted but added to the fun
- Dr Wolfgang (10/5): -
- David (7/5): -
- Stephanie (8/5): Isolated but adventures abound. - As we were travelling by train the location was out of the way and difficult to get there especially since on the day of our arrival all taxis were booked up due to a local wedding.
We were assisted by some lovely locals who drove us to Llanerchydol Hall. Llanerchydol Hall was quite isolated - there was nowhere to prepare food and there was no fridge in our room - staff were keen to be helpful and we were able to put food in a refrigderator downstairs- just 1 pub a couple of kilometres away.
- Stephen (9/5): Very comfortable quiet and peaceful - The quality of the suite and the landscape environment .The location was convenient for us , nothing
- Deb (10/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful setting and very thoughtful hosts. N/A
- James (8/5): Very pleasant, much more could be made of the property. - The location and the history N/a
- Nicky (10/5): -
- Alexander (10/5): A magical hidden gem. - An amazing hidden gem of a place. Beautiful rooms redolent with the feeling of history provided by the unspoilt hall. Nothing but I guess be aware it is a work in progress so some views etc. will include elements of building work. It is beautiful but not finished yet.
- Kathy (10/5): Cosy and interesting stay - Loved the history of the Hall and its quirkiness, we had a cosy 1 night stay,
Thank you Mark and Team. Old properties are never sound proof 😊
- Sheila (7/5): Llanerchydol hall stay. - Beautiful scenery, and building lovely will be even better when finished. Be good to see entrance how it was originally. Room was lovely and bathroom. You do need a key for you room and entrance door.
- Moreton (10/5): - 🏴🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Absolutely 💯 amazing 👏 🤩 from staff to ✔️ to checking in ✅️ our stay was just Absolutely 💯 lovely and the Llanerchydol Hall Suite was breathtaking ❤️ 😀 the bed and room and facilities 🚿 and 🛁 spot on had a pamper 🙏🌟slept like well 1 of the best night's sleep I've had in a very long ⌛️ ⏲️ felt amazing through and through 💯👏Thank You 😊
- Julia (5/5): - The location
- John (Skip) Chenard (9/5): - 🤫 Quiet, the grounds, the decor
- Christine (1/5): If you want a good night's comfortable stay book elsewhere! - The views and a very good bathroom The room was cold, and there was no heating working in the room. There was a log burner, but the glass was missing on the one side, so it was very dangerous. Big nail sticking out of floorboard's at side of the bed went into my husbands foot. Decorating unfinished and very shoddy!! Everything felt very uncared for !!!
- Anna (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay. - Had a fantastic stay here at Llanerchydol Hall, our room was huge, the bed was very comfortable, bathroom and room was very clean I would highly recommend a stay here! It was cold on arrival, and I thought we'd be freezing there but the heating came on later. The log burner had a smashed glass, which would have been lovely to get going if it worked.
- Glenn (9/5): Nice location, clean, comfortable and well furnished - A great quiet location, ideal for walking and yet close enough to walk into Welshpool through lovely countryside. The apartment was well furnished in character with the building but also comfortable. There was fresh milk for tea in the fridge rather than UHT that you find in many places which was also good There is little to add here. A surprising thing was the roller blind in the bathroom was on the mouldy side, which was really strange as everything else and everywhere else was furnished and cleaned to a really high standard. We also found the breakfast to be a little pricy at £15 for a croisant, a bowl of yoghurt with granola, an apple, tangerine and tea/coffee, although it was served in the delightful Orangery.
- Arie Yehuda (9/5): We would love to come back. - A place that is an experience in itself. The room is spacious and very nicely decorated - the furniture matches the character of the place. The bathroom is very spacious and nicely decorated Our room did not have a mini fridge as promised.
In some cases, design choices prioritize beauty over usability. For example - the bathroom sink faucet, which almost touches the bottom of the sink. The lighting is too dim.
- Ben (8/5): We will follow the restoration of this beautiful building with interest. It’s a huge project and we wish them well. - Charming building with a fascinating history
- Elizabeth (3/5): Sadly we will not return again. - The location for Llanerchydol is lovely, so peaceful. A Japanese garden is still in progress and this no doubt will be lovely when finished. We had watched the programme about the purchasing and renovating of this property and were so looking forward to our stay.
The bed was very comfortable and the towels lovely. Overall a lovely looking room on arrival. Where to start. We had asked for e yellow room into the courtyard. Attention to detail was sadly lacking. Firstly no key to lock the room, therefore no security. It could only be locked from the inside. No wardrobe or coat hangers, what looked like a wardrobe was only shelves. The curtains on their tracks where not on the hangings. The bulbs in the second room did not work and it was really dark and dismal., so didn't use the room. Also the seating was very uncomfortable. No light by the mirror in the bathroom, and the bathroom handle was loose. The TV only accessed 4 channels so you need to go with all your passwords to access Netflix etc, this should be mentioned when booking. The WIFI was very poor. The windows so dirty you could not see out of them.
We had no access to the rest of the house to see how the renovations were going, which we would have loved, after watching the programme. We asked (Ben?) once on arrival and again whilst listing the items that let the room down about how they were getting on and he never once offered to update us, all he said was come back when they have an open day!
Breakfast! was served in the conservatory and consisted of yoghurt with muesli on top and strawberries, a croissant with jam, no butter, 2 satsumas, 2 bananas, 2 apples. A charge of £10. Not really value for money. It was deducted from our bill when we mentioned the things above.
We were told a few times that they are only three people managing the house but when you are paying £245 including breakfast for two nights everything should be excellent.... and it wasn't. It just needs some updates and attention to detail, he admitted never having watched the TV program or staying in any of the rooms. A very big disappointment.
We had taken pictures but this system will not allow uploads.
- Paul (6/5): Disappointing - The bed No view
Not cosy
Limited breakfast
Muddy carpark
Noise from above
No access to main house
Just a room in an out building....not a wow experience
Could not lock bedroom from
outside
Yes the fireplace was attractive but no fire in it!
Very underwhelming
Take a torch
- Joao (9/5): Beautiful property and grounds, attentive hosts - Beautiful property and grounds, attentive hosts No complaints, having no restaurant or catering facilities onsite (other than the in-bedroom continental breakfast option) is a little limiting but we knew this was the case when we booked it and it proved not to be a problem
- Robert (10/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): Perfect for what I needed, will definitely return - Venue, room comfort, staff Not a big problem; but no restaurant (yet)
- genevieve (10/5): Loved that this old classic is being renovated - Loved the grounds and the hotel. Mark was amazing and went above and beyond for us
- Purnell (10/5): Absolutely perfect - This was the best place we have ever stayed was incredibly beautiful. Amazing price. And lovely people working there
The bed was so unbelievably comfy. The rooms were beautifully decorated. And the facilities were amazing Literally nothing!
- Paul (9/5): -
- Carole (10/5): - The building itself is fabulous and really interesting to see how the renovation is progressing. Totally peaceful location. Room had everything we needed
- Rebecca (10/5): Incredible bedrooms in a beautiful property. - The property and rooms were absolutely incredible and so comfortable. We parked up and were immediately greeted and shown to our room by a very friendly member of staff, who gave us excellent local recommendations for food. The room itself was beautiful and came with a luxurious bathroom, well stocked hot drinks station and absolutely massive TV. We would absolutely stay here again!
- Chris (5/5): - The hall stood in beautiful grounds and had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were delightful and very helpful. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. It is obviously a work in progress and will be stunning when restored to its former glory.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- rude (10/5): I had a wonderful stay here, made so welcome and the warmth from the host was lovely - I had a lovely stay here. The breakfast was excellent and brought to me in my bedroom. The room was huge, with a sitting room and extra beds. The bed was huge and very, very comfortable. The shower was powerful and easily controlled. The decor was beautiful, full of character and charm I couldnt say there was anything I didn't like. I think if you are looking for modern and boring, then this isnt the place for you. Remember this is a building undergoing a sympathetic reconstruction.
- Catherine (9/5): -
- Sabine (9/5): -
- Anne (8/5): An impressive property with great potential. - This impressive property is being lovingly brought back to life after many years of neglect. Our rooms were large with great views of the country surrounds; the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed a lovely new bathroom. Lighting could be improved (it felt a bit dingy) and we couldn’t get the tv working.
- Lisa (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay, will recommend to others and hopefully be back - Stunning property, amazing views. The rooms were very big, plenty of room. Recommended a pub for food down the road - The Raven, food was superb! Welcomed by one of the owners who was friendly, showed us our room and shared information we may need. Very helpful. Shame we didn’t have more time to spend here and walk the gardens etc due to work!
Beautiful place!!! Nothing - the stay was fantastic
- tina (10/5): - Paradise.
- Jessica (10/5): -
- GAYNOR (9/5): The hall is beautiful, it was a lovely stay and we really enjoyed it !! - The house is stunning !!, The host Mark could not be better, he was very polite and knowledgeable. The rooms were very clean, a lovely place to stay !! The breakfast is an issue, a cooked breakfast should be on offer, not a cold one in the room. I understand that the house is work in progress, but it would be nice to have a dining room.Mark did say that in the future they would probably offer a cooked breakfast. There was also a bit of a hiccup with the room, but it was all sorted in the end to our advantage !!
- dharam (10/5): Simply stunning place and rooms, all recently - Fantastic property, we booked 2 rooms which were simply stunning and massive. For the price we paid for them it was a bargain.
The owner came to meet us, walked us to our rooms and provided some history about the hall.
We would definitely recommend and hope to revisit at some point in the future.
