Guest Reviews
- Simon (10/5): Relaxing - Bright and clean N/A
- Susan (3/5): - Nice area Dirty and old, lots of things did not work
- Christopher (10/5): - The site is in such a rural and beautiful area and the scenery is stunning with lochs and forests in very close proximity. The park itself was clean and tidy with plenty of amenities and lots of things to keep you occupied, like archery, pitch and putt golf, shooting range, horse riding to name a few. The static caravan we stayed in was immaculate and very well stocked with anything you needed for your stay. Would highly recommend this caravan site. Was sent the wrong key code through Booking.com but a quick phone call to the caravan owner soon resolved the issue without any problem.
- Paula (1/5): Still waiting for host to rectify complaint, will not re-book. - Repairs not carried out, leaking toilet, expired gas safety certificate displayed in caravan during stay, intermittent hot water for showers, boiler break down no hot water, dated interior and damage to kitchen.
All above matters have been shared with host and Booking.com who refused to engage when I asked them to supply insurance documentation. This was a break with parents the experience spoilt our stay. Hosts have minimised the impact of the toilet leak, I wasted time texting host for updates regarding a plumber and parents were mopping up water that spirted at all directions. Hosts were aware prior to our stay with no emergency plumber provision.
There was no reason for "fiddled with the controls" as suggested, I have attached a photo of the boiler that had kicked out and no longer functioning. This information was not shared with me when I made a complaint and I question the honesty of that comment. The expired certificate was taped to the inside of the boiler door. The accommodation did not have the capacity to cater for four adults, shower water was running hot and cold during our stay.
We experienced a flat tyre, hence the reason for requesting an extra nights stay, it was a case of better of the two evils, risk a 3 hour journey on a saver tyre, car loaded with luggage and a serious accident or strip wash in sink with a kettle? Myself and my partner keeping everyone safe found a solution when our request could not be accommodated.
The offer of the free night accommodation was at the hosts convenience without consultation on the condition of a minimum three night direct booking. Accommodation is very dated, a broken bike on decking area, its in a very remote location. I can confirm hosts have politely dismissed my complaint and in turn I have nothing to hide. Whatsapp messages have been downloaded and shared with Booking.com and all communication is courteous via the Booking.com platform.
- LUCIA (8/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Robert (7/5): Breakaway - Peaceful surroundings
- Aspland (6/5): - Quiet No bedside lights in both bedrooms,2 forks even though we had 4 people.
Toilet kept dribbling
No dustpan and brush
No bin in the toilet (sanctuary)
Looking a bit dated.
No extraction for the oven
No welcome pack telling us where things go eg: bins amusement and what time open or close.
- greg (8/5): - Beautiful scenery, fantastic watersports facilities staff couldn't be more helpful. Site is a bit out of the way, very narrow roads.
Onsite shop is poorly stocked
- Karen (4/5): Not what we expected. - We liked the fact we could meet other family members who had booked a different caravan on the site. We didn't receive the email telling us the code for the key safe until after we arrived and then we received it again the day we left.
The caravan was dated and very personal. There wasn't enough cutlery in the kitchen and the toilet leaked.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Really enjoyed the location, lovely caravan site, all the people were very friendly. It's the perfect place to unwind and relax, after a busy working week. No No complaints, was very happy with everything. Really enjoyed the water sports.
- Carol (7/5): Good but not luxury! - The site was in the middle of nowhere but the middle of everywhere, so great for getting around.
I'm
Caravan was comfortable, adequate but not luxurious
The people in site pub were very friendly. .
Loved all the rabbits. Unable to drive to caravan as big stones were blocking the pathway. It was ok for us to walk from carpark but others might not like that.
The caravan could do with a few more dishes, including serving dishes or a casserole dish.
It would be good to have some instructions about TV etc. Also would be nice to have some information about places to visit in the area.
Most reviews talked about 'welcome basket'....there was none.
- Kirsty (6/5): Good location. - The location was excellent. The beds were super uncomfortable. The utensils were really dirty.
Do not park on the grass even when it is dry. We got a bollocking from neighbouring caravans for driving on the grass to park. So no good for people with mobility problems.
- Ioan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terry (9/5): Had a lovely 3 night stay, nice clean caravan, with a welcome pack, nice walks around the lake, pity the pub wasn’t open - Nice & clean, lovely to have a little welcome pack , plus washing up liquids, soaps & shampoos. Nothing to dislike.
- S (10/5): Scotland visit - The location was ideal for our visit to see family and the caravan was in a beautiful, idyllic location, so peaceful and relaxing.
- Joanna (9/5): Comfortable stay in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway - the owners of the caravan couldn't be more helpful, they kept in touch with us before, during and after our stay. the caravan was great. It was warm and comfortable. Despite electricity outage due to the storm in the area as the caravan had gas heating and gas cooker we were able to manage ok. WiFi worked reasonably well. the location of the caravan park was a bit out of the way and limited walks around, most attractions were accessible within 30min-1h drive, yet caravan park was quite large. it is not located directly at the lake but on the hill where a bit of loch can be seen.
- Joan (10/5): Would definitely return. - Lovely, comfortable, peaceful stay.
Provided extras such as towels, shampoo, washing liquid, salt etc which we didn't need to bring/purchase.
Great walks on door step.
- Pokorska (10/5): Exceptional - Place is peaceful but also attractive to family with kids
- Inga (9/5): Superb - We liked caravan, facilities and comfort. Location, not many routes for walking. Forest around very rocky and wet. We have been here in September.
- Margaret (10/5): Peaceful, and no phones for the stay which was a lovely change - was home from home and then some, had everything that you could image the welcome pack was a bonus The sofa was not the most comfortable but i didnt spend a lot of time sitting in the caravan and the lock was a bit stiff but nothing that would stop me from returning as the facilities were exceptional
- Julian (10/5): perfect little getaway from the hustle of life - beautiful position in the holiday park
the night time sunset view from the main window was phenomenal.
the stars at night were amazing from that position too.
the facilities were impeccable and the host was amazingly responsive during our stay.
the facilities and equipment were fantastic
the area is a conservation site for rabbits and birds which was a beautiful thing to wake up to every morning. nothing
it was a perfect week of relaxation and we didnt want for anything.
- Blue (10/5): Fab caravan, we utterly loved it - Lovely caravan, a lot bigger than we were expecting, lovely site with plenty to do, was one of the best family holidays we've had, and the little welcome gifts were a lovely touch. That we can't book it for next summer as its already fully booked 😭
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great stay. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Facilities and staff on the park are so lovely. Will definetly return in fu - Lovely and homely, spotlessly clean. Nothing to not like, except a bit far up the park for us especially if mobility is an issue.
- Eyumeneh (9/5): Superb - The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved the welcome gift. Lots of activities to keep the family occupied.
- Naomi (9/5): We will be back and recommending to all 😃 - So homely and comfortable and felt private. A wonderful location too Nothing we didn’t like
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (9/5): Superb - Beautiful caravan in a beautiful location.
Plenty to do for all ages.
Being dog friendly is a bonus.
Owners always on hand and very quick to reply. There's very little to not like
- Alison (10/5): It was cozy and peaceful - It was lovely cozy and clean. Lots of nice finishing touches. It’s a little far out from everything, but the caravan itself nothing.
