Guest Reviews
- Katrina (10/5): Perfect, practical and pretty - I loved everything about this place it was perfect for what I needed it for which was simply a bed to lie in so I was close to work. It was cute, cosy, well decorated and exactly what I needed. The only negative thing I would say is about my experience was trying to locate the place and get in. I’m happy to take some of the blame as I struggled to use the portal however, not all the information I needed was in the portal and after a huge faff trying to find the place and get in, i got into my room at approximately 21:30, I then received an email which had all the details I needed like the address, details about how to find the location, the two codes (I originally only revealed one) but I only got this after I had to call the help line… perhaps some of this is my fault due to my lack of understanding on how to use the portal however if I received this email several hours before my stay, I would not have had as much trouble. Other than that, it was perfect.
- Aidan (2/5): Truly awful - Image provided in advertising does not reflect the reality of what is on offer. Shared facilities were a disgrace-
Dirty
No power to sockets
Other residence were very noisy-
Security code is 1690. This will not be by accident- known in Scotland as anti Irish and anti Catholic.
- Alfred (4/5): The second and third night were adequate but hardly the comfort expected from what was advertised - room was small but clean and comfortable Could not get into room 1st night, returned to property later but failed again on second attempt. By this time it was dark and I gave up and stayed with friends instead for this 1st night
Proprietor said I was not the first guest with this problem but they hadn't updated the instructions for guest arrival yet. Asked for refund for 1st night. Still waiting to hear from owner.
Outside the property was in darkness and the outside steps had not been finished.
No breakfast facilities, in fact the shared kitchen was simply a disaster
Wouldn't stay here again and would certainly not recommend to friends.
- Gurnek (1/5): Absolutely shocking and would not recommend anyone stay at this venue. Will be reporting to LA. - Nothing. The room was nicely decorated but that was only the only positive. Overall I would score the B&B a 1 out of 10. This place should be advertised as being open in its current state. The B&B is a working progress and has not been finished off. Does it actually have a FRA? I was the only person staying at the B&B. It is not well sign-posted and has the old name of the venue The Canny Man Bar & Restaurant and it took me ages to find it. Had to ring the helpline number "The Pillows" and spoke to a lady in Manchester who did not have any idea of the entrance or venue. No tea or coffee in the room and the place was as working progress.
- Saheem (1/5): Bad -
- Sasha (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mohammad (6/5): Pleasant -
- Denis (7/5): We went there for a break and managed to achieve that - The room was lovely. In almost all respects the venue was as described. The surroundings were quite dilapidated
- Dawn (4/5): Disappointing - Bit of trouble finding it as it’s not advertised as Lugton rooms but is at the back of the “Canny man” pub. When I finally got in the room allocated was locked without a code being given and after calling a code was given and I got in the room to find it had not been cleaned after the last guest. Another call and another room given.. the room was basic but there was a green exit light glaring over the door and then on day 2 the room was cleaned which was a nice touch, however the room was left open by the cleaner with others in the rooms so not left secure at all.
- Ainsley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (6/5): stay was ok not great sleeps was tired each morning with poor nights sleep - bed very comfy no desk to work at, maps shows its right next to pub and takeaway both now closed noisy road outside and windows seem like they are paper thin so very noisy nights. pictures on website are a bit misleading
- Fahid (10/5): It was comfortable but the location is very isolated - Tidy and clean very comfortable There was no staff neither was there any toiletries and the details of the property does not mention that’s it’s under construction still and not complete
