• Suzanne (3/5): A disappointing stay with multiple issues that did not match the price or expectations. - The location in the jungle is beautiful and the concept of staying in nature is unique. We stayed here for 4 nights and honestly do not understand why this place is rated so highly. While the idea of staying in cabins in the jungle sounds great, for the price we expected a much higher standard overall. The WiFi was extremely poor throughout our stay. It regularly dropped out to the point where we had to rely on mobile data most of the time. The shower was also disappointing, with very low water pressure and inconsistent temperature that would constantly switch between very cold and very hot. The bed was uncomfortably hard. Of course this can be subjective, but in our case it caused significant discomfort and we both experienced back pain during the entire stay. There were also maintenance issues that should not be overlooked. There was a hole in the mosquito net at the bottom of the door, which allowed wasps and other insects to enter the cabin. The outdoor chair was broken and would sink in when sitting on it, making it unusable. The cooking plate did not function properly either, as it would not stay hot and kept turning off, which made it impossible to cook. For a stay of this length, we also expected at least basic service. There was no cleaning during our stay, and we were not provided with fresh towels or additional toilet paper. The cabins are very noisy as well. You can clearly hear other guests, and unfortunately during our stay the people in the nearby two-level cabin were having a karaoke night until 2:00 AM, which made it impossible for us to sleep. This may not happen every night, but it is something to be aware of. Finally, communication with the owner was very disappointing. We raised multiple concerns during our stay, but were told there was nothing that could be done. After we complained about the noise, we did not receive any response at all. Overall, this stay did not meet our expectations in any way, especially considering the price. We would strongly recommend thinking twice before booking this accommodation.

• Jiri (8/5): - Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in der Villa bei Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Die Lage ist wunderbar – mitten in der Natur, mit vielen wilden Tieren direkt rund um das Haus. Es war ein besonderes Erlebnis, morgens mit den Geräuschen des Dschungels aufzuwachen und die Tierwelt aus nächster Nähe zu beobachten. Die Küchenausstattung war hervorragend und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Alles war vorhanden, sodass man problemlos selbst kochen und den Aufenthalt ganz entspannt genießen konnte. Wir wohnten im großen Haus im Erdgeschoss, das viel Platz bot und sich sehr gut für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt geeignet hat. Insgesamt ein toller Ort für alle, die Natur, Ruhe und eine authentische Umgebung in Puerto Viejo suchen. Leider gab es neben den schönen Seiten unseres Aufenthalts auch einige deutliche Nachteile, die man wissen sollte. Die ersten zwei Nächte hatten wir das Haus komplett für uns allein – das war perfekt und sehr ruhig. Sobald jedoch Gäste im oberen Stockwerk eingezogen sind, wurde es deutlich lauter. Die Küche der oberen Einheit befindet sich draußen, sodass die Gäste ständig durch eine große Schiebetür gehen mussten. Diese wurde gefühlt unzählige Male geöffnet und geschlossen, was im Erdgeschoss sehr laut zu hören war und abends bis etwa 22 Uhr anhielt. Das größere Problem waren jedoch die Ameisen. Jeden Abend, sobald es dunkel wurde, kamen etwa 2 cm große Ameisen ins Haus – vorallem nur ins Schlafzimmer. Ursache scheinen nicht ordentlich abgedichtete Fensterrahmen zu sein. Wir mussten uns selbst ein Moskitonetz kaufen und benutzen, da man sonst regelrecht von Ameisen überrannt wurde. Besonders schade ist, dass dieses Problem offenbar bekannt ist, aber nichts Nachhaltiges dagegen unternommen wird. Wir haben den angeblichen Manager darauf hingewiesen, jedoch wurde keine Lösung gefunden. Auch ein Insektenmittel, das wir selbst gekauft und eingesetzt haben, brachte kaum Erfolg. Sehr bedauerlich, denn die Unterkunft und die Lage hätten ansonsten großes Potenzial für einen wirklich perfekten Aufenthalt.

• João Mendes (10/5): - This property is amazing, we had a great time there. We loved the pool and the surroundings; being in the middle of nature is exactly what we were looking for. Waking up to birds chirping and howler monkeys is priceless. We especially enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and being able to cook our own meals. The property is a bit far from Puerto Viejo and other main attractions if you don’t have a car. However, if you rent one (which I highly recommend when traveling in Costa Rica), this is the perfect place to stay if you value peace and quiet over busy areas. This isn’t really a criticism, but I would highly recommend the host consider adding a mosquito net over the bed. Due to the remote location, there are quite a few bugs, which is completely normal for this kind of setting — we did get a few bites. Nevertheless, this could easily be resolved with a net.

El departamento está totalmente equipado: café, azúcar, sal, sartén, calentador, platos, refrigerador, plancha para ropa y secadora de cabello. Se disfruta de una paz total, sin ruidos, más que los propios de la naturaleza, con mucha privacidad. No se necesita aire acondicionado, ya que al estar en medio del bosque el clima es siempre fresco y las madrugadas son frías. 🌿🌊 La piscina no tiene escaleras para salir, a algunos se les puede dificulta salir y el parqueo nesecita un poco mas de espacio para carros grandes.

• B de Bree (6/5): Ruim huisje maar heel weinig comfort - Ruimte en buitenkeuken, Goede wifi De ligging vlak bij achterburen, heel donker terras zonder zon, weinig kastruimte, ontzettend harde en smalle matras, heel weinig en lauw douchewater, geen nachtkastje, ongezellige verlichting, meubilair zeer oncomfortabel, te kort aan toiletpapier, geen zeepjes e.d. bij de douche, achterburen met honden, koud zwembad, eigenaar/ beheerder niet gezien. Het geheel ziet er op de plaatjes en volgens de revieuws mooi uit maar werkelijkheid valt tegen. Prijs niet in verhouding met kwaliteit. Wat ons betreft zeker geen vier sterren!

• Martine (8/5): Fantastische locatie. - De locatie is werkelijk fantastisch. Je waant je echt door de jungle. Vanuit je bed, hoor je letterlijk de natuur naar binnen komen. Krekels, zingende vogels en brullende apen vanuit de verte. Het appartement is smaakvol en kleurrijk ingericht en bied alles wat je nodig hebt. De buiten keuken met zitje vonden we ook ontzettend leuk en sfeervol. Wij kwamen in donker aan door opstopping onderweg. De eigenaar had wel info opgestuurd, maar we hadden geen bereik om dit te kunnen lezen. Het had fijn geweest als hij ons even persoonlijk had kunnen begeleiden. Nu was het een ware zoektocht. Bij het pad naar ons huisje (houten steiger) zijn er meerdere planken aan het rotten. Dit kan tot gevaarlijke situaties leiden, zeker in donker. Wij hadden er nu stenen opgelegd.

Ausstattung ist top, der Pool ist sehr schön und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Nadia ist auch eine super Gastgeberin, die sich gut um ihre Gäste kümmert.
• Cláudia (9/5): parabéns, amei! - todos os detalhes! a piscina praticamente para nós, a decoração super bem pensada, as plantas e a natureza audível. uma cabana sofisticada com uma anfitriã super prestável, querida e preocupada com o nosso bem estar. Foi o sítio que mais gostei de estar de todos os que estive na Costa Rica, voltaria num piscar de olhos. Para terem noção, nem saíamos para jantar, ficávamos em casa a cozinhar ao ar livre, a ouvir música e a relaxar. PERFEITO!! sofri muito muito de picadas de insetos.. mas o ambiente era propício inevitavelmente.

Hay un arrollo que pasa por detrás que es bastante lindo también. Me hubiera gustado un abanico extra ya que el del techo no es muy fuerte

• Antonia (10/5): Perfect jungle stay - The place is amazing! We felt very relaxed in the jungle house. You can cook easy meals in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy them at the veranda. We had the pool mostly to ourselves. Nadia was very helpful and responsive. The WiFi didn’t work well in our house and the beds were a bit hard.
• Vanaty (10/5): Hidden gem in the jungle - This place is a hidden gem! We totally loved the natural environment, in the middle of the jungle. It’s so secluded and nice. The owner tries her best really well and she’s the most friendly host you will meet. The has a spectaculair eye for detail. There are plants, animals, sounds of the jungle: everything you would expect given the pretty location, we loved it and would recommend!

• Laura (8/5): Stylish but for us not so comfortable - The place is beautiful, very stylish and nicely decorated. Host is very sweet, helpful and caring. They want you to feel homey The place is beautiful but it was were we found more insects in our trip in CR. It is in the jungle so understand you will find spiders in the toilet and many other insects inside the house and ceiling (maybe other kind of accommodation wouldn’t). Also the noise from the monkeys at 4 am was crazy so we had difficulties sleeping from then. I would say also that since most guests stay only a few nights would be nice to have some basics in the kitchen (salt, sugar, oil and a bit of coffee).

The rented houses are small but very cute and have a special touch with some art and nice colors. The pool is lovely and we saw some very cool birds and other animals. The house itself could’ve been a bit cleaner, the floors were a bit dirty, should’ve been vacuumed before. It also got quite warm, and we would’ve liked a gate infront of the property to feel a little safer.
• Cristiana (9/5): Beautiful place full of jungle noises ! - The location is super nice! we could relax at the swimming pool while enjoying the sloths, toucans, monkeys, parrots, frogs, etc Nadia is also super friendly and helpful! Everything was clean and we could cook. The entrance to the room is full of plants which is nice and gives a nice jungle feeling but can also be a bit annoying when passing.

Theres three appartments (two for guests, one of the owner) but the garden is designed in such a way that you feel super private. Outside kitchen is simple but just enough for creating a meal. From the pool you can checkout sloths and toucans. Really good place to come to rest.

• Fergus (10/5): Amazing villa and host! - It was lovely to have a pool and stay in such a wild location! The area was full of birds and great wildlife sounds at night and throughout the day. We hired bikes which made cycles into Puerto Viejo and further down the coast really accessible. The villa had everything we needed and Nadia was an exceptional host, making us feel really welcome and going out of her way to help us 😊
