Guest Reviews
- Malcolm (10/5): Taste of Rural Wales Close to Seaside and Mountain Activities and Holiday Tourism. - Clean, cozy, very accommodating to disabled, quite and idyllic location, very friendly hosts. Would not hesitate to recommend Fyllon Fawr for small or larger party.
Can rent just one room or more, up to five rooms as needed with price per night reflecting.
Great views, large rooms, large kitchen/ dining, touch of Welshness throughout with benefit of Welsh speaking hosts.
Easy access and close to Aberaeron, New Quay, and Aberystwyth. Tons to do and see with Fyllon Fawr as your base. Downstairs bed was a bit too high for shorter disabled person. Would not have been a problem if we had brought a short step.
- Pippa (10/5): Delightful and very clean with everything you could need. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Lovely views and a great - Beautiful farmhouse, everything you could possibly need for a comfortable, quiet and relaxing stay! All easily accessible and lovely host and a warm welcome!
- Teresa (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our break at this property. - It was lovely and quiet with beautiful views. A separate area to store our bicycles was ideal.
Super hosts. Would stay again.
- Christina (10/5): Really good - The property was extremely clean. Well equipped.the decor was really good. Felt homely and inviting. For me as I have multiple joint problems the beds were too soft. Others in our party found the beds ok. Would be good if one of the beds was hard.

- Stephen (9/5): - Fantastic location & great facilities
- Mark (10/5): Perfect, we will be definitely going back there - Everything was perfect about the farmhouse N/A
- Magdalena (9/5): - Domek pięknie położony z malowniczymi widokami na wzgórza. Na okolicznych drzewach mnóstwo gniazd rudej kani, co stwarzało możliwość obserwowania tych pięknych drapieżników. Domek przestronny i czysty. 4 sredniej wielkości sypialnie z wygodnymi łóżkami plus mały pokoik dla dziecka. Po jednej łazience z toaletą na górze i na dole. Kuchnia duża i dobrze wyposażona. Przytulny salonik z dużym telewizorem. Niedaleko przy głównej drodze znajduje się przyzwoicie zaopatrzony sklep Morrisons i stacja benzynowa. Właściciele niezmiernie mili i chętnie służący radą i pomocą. To miejsce pozwala na wspaniały relaks i kompletny reset! Bardzo dobry wybór zarówno dla rodziny jak i grupy przyjaciół. Gorąco polecam!

- Julia (10/5): Perfect I every way . - Had breakfast in the Hive in Aberaeron .
We loved everything about the house , the location , the quiet , waking up to the kites being fed in the morning .:
The farmhouse was immaculate .:we couldn’t have asked for more . The owner greeted us on arrival and showed us round . On site if we had any problems . Many thanks . We all loved it .
- Tom Mercer (10/5): Ffyllon Fawr July 2025 - We spent almost a week at Ffyllon Fawr, about halfway between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, and had an excellent time. The property, a former farmhouse, is really nice and very large, with plenty of parking and indoor and outdoor space. It was perfect for our visit with a toddler, as the owners provided a cot bed, high chair, stair gates and fire guard, but more generally Ffyllon Fawr is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and provided everything we needed. There's plenty of countryside surrounding the home, with red kites regularly flying overhead, but there's also easy access to nearby towns, shops, historical sites and the coast. The owners were welcoming and always extremely helpful, and we would certainly stay again!
- David (9/5): Just what we wanted! - The house is very comfortable, clean and well equipped, with peace and privacy, in a beautiful part of the world. The owners are friendly and helpful. The coast path is spectacular and watching dolphins from a boat at Newquay was wonderful.
- Chris (10/5): Fantastic - Stunning clean lovely location, lovely
People .
Highly recommend
- Sam (10/5): Very comfortable and cosy farmhouse witj a great calue for money, local towns had some lovely pubs and overall a great p - Nice and spacious. Wifi didn’t work and no blind outside the shower room.
- Hitesh (10/5): Wonderful - Absolutely beautiful house, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Furnished to a high standard. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Beautiful views all around and very peaceful and quiet. 2 mins drive to a local morrisons and 10 mins drive to New Quay for dolphin trips. Would love to go back and stay there again. Nothing
- Keen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): A beautifully positioned house which is well kitted out. - Owners next door, providing a welcome introduction WiFi was very intermittent
- David (10/5): Excellent - This was by far the best holiday home I have stayed in for many years. The log fires were the highlight in a cold place. I used it as a base to visit family in Wales and will do so again. Every thing you would need was in place, including tea, coffee and milk. Truly well thought out. Garden was beautiful with spring flowers. Despite what is quoted on booking.com com, the whole house is not available if the booking is only for a couple. However 2 rooms were opened for us as we do not sleep in the same room any longer, for medical reasons. Check this point out when you book. However this was not a problem as the owner was 100% flexible on this point, but you could be misled in booking.
- Jodi (9/5): Superb -
- Roberts (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karreen (9/5): Beautifully presented farmhouse. Clean and comfortable. Attentive host. - Lovely comfortable farmhouse in a picturesque setting. Very clean and cosy. Easy instructions for access. Host met us on arrival and gave us a short walkthrough of the house.
The fireplace was lit and the room beautifully warm. An unexpected bonus because it was raining when we arrived. Convenient location, near Aberaeron. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were large. Milk, tea and coffee provided.
- Robert (9/5): Nice people , nice accommodation - Very accommodating . Nice wood fire Nothing all good
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic stay for a few days in wales. Spotlessly clean, log fire, conformable living room, big kitchen. Red Kites in the skies above the house. Dark skies for stargazing. nothing.
- Nick (8/5): Very good -
- Kirstie (10/5): Lovely cosy stay - Very spacious and cosy, all the facilities you need included. N/a
- Hanadi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (10/5): Fantastic Cottage....Fantastic Hosts - Ffyllon Fawr is a fantastic stone built cottage with everything you need supplied by the hosts Alan and Janette. Was met on arrival by Alan who showed us around and how everything works.Walk in shower room was great and plenty of towels, toilet paper etc supplied..Coffee,tea,sugar and fresh milk and condiments were there on arrival too....you will want for nothing.
The fantastic resorts of Aberaeron and New Quay are both under 10 minutes drive or taxi away and Aberystwyth about 30 minutes....you are central to everything..The cottage is easy to find and is up a private lane off the main road with enough private parking for 2-3 cars..It was great to sit outside in the evening on the plentiful outside seating and hear silence and just the wildlife...A special mention must go to the Red Kites which fly by the property real close up and watching them swoop down was spectacular.Thankyou Alan and Janette for allowing us the use of your amazing cottage and we will strive to visit you again.......Diolch! You would have to be Victor Meldrew to find any problem here.
- Ranger (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (10/5): Excellent -
- Pip (9/5): Highly recommended - would happily stay here again - Really nice house - highly recommended. Welcoming but unobtrusive hosts, convenient yet peaceful location, lovely countryside views & places to sit (kites & swallows flying right overhead). Spotlessly clean (really exceptionally so), masses of towels, really warm, lots of hot water. Kitted out with absolutely everything one might need, including a comprehensive file of useful numbers, things to do etc. They're obviously seasoned hosts & know exactly what people need for an easy, enjoyable stay.
Two tiny comments, neither of which would stop us coming back: it would be nice to have a selection of books - there are guide books but no novels. & the bedside lights in one of the bedrooms could do with being a bit brighter. But we would very happily stay here again. Very impressed!
- Sai (6/5): Good -
- Claire (10/5): Wonderful, relaxing short break in this beautiful cottage. - The cottage is in a very convenient location, between Aberaeron and New Quay. It is set in a picturesque and peaceful location, surrounded by fields and wildlife.
The cottage has been done to very high standards. We couldn’t fault anything. It was immaculately clean with beautiful fresh bedding and towels. It was an advantage having a downstairs bedroom and shower room for my mother. The owners are super people and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The log burner had been lit just prior to our arrival. It was lovely walking in to a warm and welcoming living room. The beds were extremely comfortable and we both slept extremely well. It helped that the location was so quiet.
We also had the pleasure of seeing a lot of Red Kites. It was amazing to watch them fly around in front of the cottage.
All in all, this is a fantastic place to stay and can comfortably accommodate a large family. The location is perfect. We will definitely be returning! NA

- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Nothing.
- Ben (9/5): Superb - Beautiful surroundings, gorgeous property.Very friendly lady who greeted us.Provisions (coffee, tea, milk etc)where provided. Only issue was the bumps leading up to the property were excessively high.
- Piaf (9/5): Beautiful countryside within easy access to shops and meals out. Very friendly host - Lovely quiet accommadation that was ideally situated in an ideal location for our needs. The host was there to meet us and was very friendly and welcomming. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Nothing- everything was as or better than expected.
