Guest Reviews
- Sue (8/5): Very relaxing in a beautiful location - The location was amazing Nothing
- Emilie (9/5): Cottage très agréable, vue magnifique! -
- Gordon (6/5): Great location but place needs a few things sorted to justify the cost - The School House has beautiful views of the water and is peaceful and quiet … The cottage itself is very basic and feels tired and somewhat neglected. We heard mice in the roof; we were expected to buy own firewood and fireplace didn’t work very well; the shower was weak and had a broken shower door; the pillows were thin and uncomfortable; the single mattresses were very firm; there were holes in the sheets and sofa cushion; kitchen housed a very noisy dishwasher that didn’t work properly, a stove/oven where you can’t read the numbers as it’s so old …. And the list goes on. We were expected to take our recycling to nearest recycle centre and strip our own beds. We have never been asked to do this before when paying £250 a night. We are staying somewhere tonight for the same price and have been provided with pastries, milk, butter, new appliances and just a warm, welcoming vibe.
It was very hard to locate the accommodation in the dark even though instructions were ok - there is no signage.
We would not recommend. This historic spot needs some serious TLC.
- Gordon (8/5): Great Location, Nice Accommodation, Hard to Find, Terrible Bed - There was no signage from the road or down the 3 driveways which made it very difficult to find. The adjoining house was also called schoolhouse and our code wouldn't work on the lock box there. So, it was all very confusing and time consuming The Bed was terrible and not like the one shown on the Bookings.com photo's. I'm 6 foot 6 and the photo's covered up any sign of a bed end but unfortunately it had one covered by the doona so I could not stretch out.
- Susan (10/5): A home from home in a beautiful location. - The location was amazing.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the location on the water across from an island, the central location not being at one extreme end or the other, and the thoughtful hosts.
We were incredibly grateful for the washer and dryer.
- Barry (9/5): Delightful waterside house - Location. Location
- Edward (9/5): A wonderful place for a short break! - The location was amazing and we had the most wonderful break there. Locating the house itself was quite challenging as the entrance was really quite hidden. We had to ask three different neighbors to locate the place. Once we found it it was all good!
- Graham (8/5): Great location and cosy! - Location was fabulous!
