- Amanda (5/5): We were a little shocked ! - The bed was comfortable. Kitchen fully equipped. All clean. Quiet and rural area to stay. Our lounge and kitchen area was part of a dance/yoga studio. It is a converted barn but this wasn't mentioned in the description and because of the size of this area, it was very cold and not heated on arrival ..although we were told it had underfloor heating. We were offered the use of 2 oil radiators which we had to huddle around to keep warm. The large area needed to have long thick floor length curtains or another wall and door area to the studio - keeping the area that you're using separate and warm. You cannot keep a large granite room (the whole of an upstairs floor) warm without enough heating. We asked about a T.V in which the host got us a spare one. It could only be situated in that large room with one settee plus kitchen area. The bedroom and bathroom were separate quarters.
- Vanya (8/5): Great for couples. - The decor was great and everything looked new. If they provided milk for tea and coffee that would have been great. The room took a long time to heat maybe settling the heating to come on earlier so that the room would have a head start to get heated up.
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ozziejules (8/5): Lovely, spacious apartment in rural location - In a quiet rural location, proved easy to find following their directions. Very comfortable bed with a microwave and bar fridge in the kitchenette. Plenty of china, glassware and cutlery. No problem parking outside the door. Heating turned on for the bedroom and bathroom but we do carry our own small Dimplex space heater. Walk-in shower also OK. Gemma and Martin have a lovely young family and are running a spotless and efficient operation here. One difficulty is that there is a huge, nicely furnished space for the kitchen/living area and it is hard to heat in winter. We isolated ourselves to the bedroom but there is difficulty with wifi there. All to be sorted I'm sure as this is a lovely place to stay, away from town, private and quiet. Would stay again.
- Louise (10/5): Quiet clean and welcoming - Gemma and her lovely family were so welcoming it was like visiting relatives! We just needed a bed and catering facilities and everything was there for what we needed.
- Sefa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The family were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, and I had a very quiet night. Lovely place to stay.
- Graeme (8/5): Lovely, quiet barn conversion, comfortable and secluded. Very friendly hostess. - Gemma the host was lovely, friendly and helpful. There were no meals included but this was stated on the booking information. There is a kitchen with crockery cutlery microwave toaster and jug. There is a fridge (no freezer) and dishwasher . If you come with your own food you will be self sufficient. There is no tv but wifi is good. There is a dance floor !! It was a little hard to find.
- Paul (10/5): Peaceful getaway 🥰 - Peaceful and welcoming. Martin and Gemma were very helpful and accommodating. Their three children, Charlie, Jasmin and Emily were so well behaved when we met them and even helped deliver our ice packs back to us. After the first night of being welcomed, we were left to make ourselves comfortable with no disturbances. That said, they were just a knock-on-the-door away, if we needed anything. We didn't like l
eaving for home......🤭
- Macklin (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): A tranquil oasis - What a lovely little oasis to have come across! Rosehip Barn is a beautiful place to stay. It had all the facilitates one might need for a few nights' stay and allows for easy self-catering. It is in a very tranquil location and really provides one with a wholesome experience. I felt immediately relaxed and welcome when I arrived. Definitely recommend coming here if you'd like a wonderful stay in the beautiful English countryside.
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alfonso (10/5): Excellent - Rosehip Barn is in an excellent quiet location close to beautiful spots. This is a family run business and everyone was extremely friendly. My room was very quiet and all facilities were spotless. The added bonus is that Rosehip Barn is just a few minutes walk from St Clether Holy Well
- Kovacs (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location, all clean and tidy, excellent facilities. I recommend it.
- Andrei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shwan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (8/5): Very good - In a good quiet location. Friendly welcome. Comfortable bed and sofa. Well equipped kitchen. Other than 2 front steps great for disabled person. A few bits looked a bit tired. In the accommodation.
- Eva (9/5): "Hidden violets grow, splashed with summer spray," ( Miriam Stockley) just a perfect stay! - Self catering, with access to a well equipped kitchen. Location very rural, peace and quiet, straight out of a Beatrix Potter book. Jimmy the farmer and Martin were the perfect hosts. We were made to feel most welcome. You must have a car. If travelling by public transport, I am not sure how you would get to the farm and you would be limited with movement as I did not notice a bus service.
- Brad (9/5): Excellent - Private and quite Nothing
- Linda (10/5): Excellent - Relaxing and peaceful All good
- Lizzyb1 (7/5): Good -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Very friendly host, comfortable and cosy. A bit too much like being in someone's work place as it adjoins a yoga room.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely host ,Lovely place ,highly recommend 👌
- Matilda (8/5): clean, comfortable with everything we needed - comfy, clean and lovely host bathroom door got stuck at one point but other than that it was great
- Ward (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyable - Quiet and tranquil, and of course our conducted tour of the farm.
Gemma was an excellent host Everything was fine and great value for money
- Joanna (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): very restful after a stressful few months - we self catered but the kitchen was good well equipped nothing all very comfortable and relaxing
- Born (8/5): Well worth the stay would recommend. - Peaceful location, clean accommodation with good size bathroom, helpful host. Sat Nav sent us down many miles of very narrow Cornish lanes. Subsequently the host provided alternative directions which got us to the main Atlantic highway in less than a mile. This was no fault of the host, but that of two separate sat-nav mapping companies and both sat-nav's were set to main roads only. This is not what you want after a five-hour journey to get to the location.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Perfect. Definitely an escape to the country. - Lovely family run business. Made to feel very welcome. Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Ideal location, very friendly owner would recommend - Welcoming host.
Clean rooms. Ideal location for touring around area.
- Susan (10/5): Ideal location to tour area, accommodation excellent, would recommend a stay here - Nice welcome from owner. Communication was excellent. Refreshments available in accommodation. Quiet location. Plenty of parking space. Availability to use owner’s garden, if we wanted to. Comfy bed Nothing comes to mind
- Alan (5/5): Hate to be at all negative, especially as the owner is so pleasant, but it just lacks any atmosphere - The owner is a lovely lady who was very pleasant and helpful. Plenty of parking space, rural and quiet, and the accommodation was clean and tidy. The cost was reasonable. The photos on the Booking.com site are rather misleading and give the impression that there is a proper kitchen and some sort of lounge/dining area. However, it's more akin to staying in a small village hall with a bedroom attached. The barn conversion is used for the owner's interests in Yoga and similar health interests with the result that apart from the old upright piano, some Yoga mats and a couple of kiddies toys there are no forms of entertainment, so no TV, no radio nor even books or magazines. You kinda feel that the other members of the group are about to arrive to liven the place up.
- Andrew (9/5): Quite, peaceful, value for money overnight stay. - As a regular traveler and hotel/b&b user - this was a very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. The host is very welcoming and the facilities inside the room are clean and simple. The extra space available within the converted barn with the communal kitchen and rest area is an added bonus. If you want a nice quiet place to stay, this is ideal. This is inevitably down to personal preferences. I would normally anticipate a TV in the room. Not providing one in the room I guess is an intentional decision with the stay definitely oriented towards a peace and tranquility atmosphere. To be fair this is described in the venue description as such. It wouldn’t stop me staying here again when I am in the area though.
- Claire4me (8/5): Very good -
- Tamsin (10/5): Warm and welcoming place to stay - Gorgeous location. Lovely friendly family and really helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area and how to get there. Very clean facilities.
Decorations were really good. Very calming place to be Would have liked a lock on the outer door on bedroom/ bathroom suite.
My personal preference is a softer mattress but perfectly good for my stay
