Guest Reviews
- Susan (4/5): Very disappointed, whole place needs a deep clean a paint refresh and all other issues sorting. - Location great This is an apartment in a much bigger house with multiple other apartments. Very disapointed everywhere dirty with multiple handmarks on walls, paintwork everywhere dirty but especially the stairs was VERY dirty. The lower bedrooms were damp and you could feel the damp as you walked down the stairs Unable to hang up clothes as they felt damp after a day. Both sets of patio doors to garden steamed up. Shower did not drain properly and left you standing in a couple of inches of water. The electrical sockets in large bedroom falling off wall and taped over so unable to use, a safety hazard as is the electrical socket by TV in lounge which is covered in a plastic bag and taped up. There are multiple holes in bathrooms where things have been removed from walls and all showers tiles need cleaning as dirty and black at bottoms. Tiling on floor in upper bedroom bathroom needs cleaning and fitting the appliances. There is lots of dust everywhere especially on radiators, boilers and high dusting areas. In upper bedroom the sink is cracked and the shower tray is chipped and cracked. The accommodation is for 6 persons but there are only 5 drinking mugs ,one of which is cracked, also lounge area can only sit 4 persons the remaining 2 of us sat on the floor. Oven is missing a knob so cannot turn and kitchen sink smells. Cushions in lounge split and trim loose. The worse problem is the lower floor damp and lack of ventilation. We had to move the upstairs airfreshener downstairs to mask the damp smell. The garden is unkempt and really unusable. This p!ace sells as a Luxury Getaway but it's far from Luxury, get the impress that the owners lived abroad and hired cleaning teams which are doing a very poor job, unsure of they are aware of how this place has gone down hill. If you stay for just one night all these issues probably don't matter so much but they do for longer stays.
This really was not value for money for us, very disappointing😥
- Beth (8/5): Lovely - Lots of space and attention to detail
- ROBERTA (3/5): Awful. Absolutely nothing luxury here. - The beds were comfortable and warm. End of story. Not sure where to start. Luxury? In the dictionary luxury is defined as ' a state of great comfort or elegance'. None of this existed in Woodfalls ' Luxury' Getaway. It was freezing cold, we were unable to use the tv ( which would have been a distraction from the cold) , the place was grubby, one of the showers unusable really, the water pressure was so low, ensuite bathroom basin cracked ( awful), dirty towels behind doors I assume from the last guests, no washing up liquid, no dishwasher tablets, half of the stove marked 'do not use', a fireplace stacked with wood but marked' do not use'. Awful. Cold, unwelcoming, grubby, crappy back door access, crappy parking ( the neighbours in the house obviously hate the use of this place as a holiday rental). We were happy to get out. I do not know in whose world this could be called ' luxury'. It barely meets basic. And just to finish, a horrible cracked mug which it seems other guests pointed out months ago, but it's still there. Terrible, and no-one cares. Owner is making money, agent is making money, cleaners do an awful job and nobody cares 🥺
- Emma (6/5): Not luxury - Location and size of property worked for well for us as a group of 6 friends Hosting skills need addressing. We got some very rude messages before we arrived telling us we could not play ANY music as the previous guests had a party and upset neighbours. We weren't having a party but would be expected to be allowed to play music and/or watch TV as a reasonable volume. We also got a message on the day we arrived saying we could not park on site and had to park on the road (and we heard car windows being smashed on our first night) despite the pictures showing parking. Nothing wishing us a good stay or anything friendly. Pictures online are extremely misleading and the messages from the host make it clear they were not too bothered about the enjoyment of our stay, she has also ignored some of my messages. But like all the other reviews on here they will ignore exactly the same comments we have - basic essentials are missing (tea towel, washing up liquid) in a 'luxury' apartment. There was not enough mugs or plates for 6 people and the living room could seat 3 maybe 4 people and we had to sit on the floor. The decorating standard and fittings are poor - this looks luxury from the photos but the reality is they want people to pay to stay here but don't care too much about your stay, her attitude in the messages made this clear and the maintenance of the property and feedback to comments is non-existent. But this review will be ignored like all the others.
- Tony (3/5): Not luxury - Good location and great to have parking Described as luxury, failed to deliver due to: 1) heating unable to cope with the cold spell while we were there, leaving us cold in the house. The fan heater in the kitchen cupboard, which might have helped, didn't work.
2) failed double glazing in lower bedroom French doors, made it depressing.
3) not enough seating in the lounge for the number of guests.
4) only 5 cups and one was cracked.
- Meriel Turner (8/5): Beautiful accommodation with some minor shortcomings - Beautiful apartment with lovely rooms. Easy to check in and out and a convenient location to walk into town and beach. As mentioned in previous reviews which we noticed have not been acknowledged, some of the basic necessities would have been useful. For example, tea towels, dishcloths, washing up liquid. There were also only 5 mugs considering it accommodates 6. Also the lounge area does not accommodate 6 guests, unless you bring a chair in from the kitchen.
Would also like to mention as mentioned previously by others the shower in the main bathroom was unusable due to no water pressure whatsoever and the shower in the front bedroom had no wall bracket for the shower head.
We feel it important to mention these shortcomings as although the apartment was beautiful, these are basic requirements.
Was also quite surprised we had a message to say we couldn't park outside the property despite there being 4 spaces there the whole time and after having previously received a message saying we could. We had to park down the road on arrival which wouldn't be a problem normally but the weather was particularly atrocious when we arrived and we all got soaking wet
- Hilary (8/5): A really good find - The location was ideal and the apartment was clean and bright. The duvets were really warm and the bed linen & towels were spotlessly clean and comfortable. The apartment was over scented. Air fresheners, plug-ins etc. give me headaches and I found these too much.
The mattresses were too soft for my tastes.
- Diane (9/5): -
- Simon (8/5): Very pleasant stay, loads to do, great location, owners communicated very well. - Location, layout and space within the property, number of bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, the welcome pack was a nice touch Could have included a few essentials to make the stay easier: kitchen cloth, dishwasher tablets, instructions on heating and cooker.
Front bedroom was very cold compared to the rest of the property due to a draft from the window above the bed.
Main bathroom shower didn't work properly but it was fine as we used the downstairs bathroom as well as the ensuite.
Parking at the property was a slight issue as we travelled in 2 cars. However, one vehicle was left at the property, one on the road at the front. Loads of free parking available.
- Falconer (8/5): - The apartment was clean , and the welcome pack was a nice touch but would been nice to have some milk for a cup of tea x The upstairs shower in the stand alone bathroom didn't work when the other two showers were also in use. The radiators in the downstairs bedrooms took a long time to warm up which meant the bedrooms were very cold on our first night. Also disappointed with fact that we couldn't park at the property due to a broken down car which looked like it had been there a while
- Magdalena (8/5): - A beautiful house, set in a great location in between the train station and town centre. Beds were super comfy. Great big kitchen with enough seating for six people. It was difficult to regulate the temperature in the house and also the showers. There isn't enough seating in the living area for six people,.we had to bring an extra chair through from the bedroom. Little things were missing, eg. tea towels and tin foil. We had to buy extra cups as there were only five and one was cracked. There aren't enough sockets in the bedrooms.
- Claudine (9/5): Very spacious apartment and very stylish. Easy to find and nice host - Very large apartment, very nicely decorated and beautiful welcome basket. Fully equipped kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. Clear instructions and a very friendly host Shannon who reacted right away to our message. The allocated parking was taken and we had to park on the street (wasn't so easy with our van, especially after coming back from the restaurant there wasn't a space close by. The heating was off when we arrived and it took a long time to warm up - the heating in the bottom large room never came on so we were quite cold sleeping. We didn't want to bother to host so late at night and we were only there a night so it was fine. The boiler wasn't on either, but that was just a button in the kitchen and we had warm water right away. The bottom rooms smelled a bit damp.
- Klumbiene (10/5): Perfect house to stay - All house is perfect. It was in much better condition than expected for that price.
- emma (10/5): Great location , good host lovely stay - Lovely home. Everything we needed for our stay
- Nathan (7/5): - Good location, good sized rooms, good parking, comfortable beds. Basement rooms a bit damp, drains quite bad and smelly, stairs a bit too narrow, not enough power points (some taped over?) and no dessert spoons in kitchen to eat breakfast cereal with.
- Denise (9/5): -
- Alan (6/5): We expected luxury and the photos looked promising but we had to make-do too much. - Spacious and well decorated rooms. Good beds and furniture. Well positioned for access to attractions and beaches. Shared drive with several other flats causing excessive disturbance for occupants of one bedroom. Scruffy backyard difficult to access via bedrooms and steep, rocky path. Dirty rusty outdoor furniture. Kitchen equipment lacking, e.g. insufficient cups/ mugs; no serving spoons; no desert spoons; coffee maker unusable owing to missing jug cover, etc.
Not enough lounge seating for six people.
- McMahon (9/5): All was well. - Very central location and common area for the whole family to roam. The garden was overgrown and the gardeners only came as we were leaving the property.
- Indre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jess (10/5): Lovely Spacious Home - Beautiful home. Plenty of space! Beds were very comfy. Hosts provided a gift basket for us on arrival which was a lovely touch. Location was good, easy access to the centre.
- Karen (10/5): Excellent!!! - The location was perfect for the occasion, the property was lovely and the welcome treats were amazing, never felt so welcome before! Only downer, was us not being able to spend more time there, one night was too short for such a lovely place! Definitely know where we’ll be booking again when we’re back in Bournemouth! A lovely and ver accommodating host, thank you so much for having us stay, will highly recommend you! There was nothing not to like!
- Sanjay (10/5): Lovely place to stay at - Everything There is nothing i didn't like
- Jimit (9/5): Superb -
- Higgins (8/5): Nice property, quiet area, great for university visited - Nice clean house, good location for university open day, pub and takeaways nearby. No issues with parking. No way to dry towels during the day as heating off, maybe invest in heated towel rails for the summer months?
Living room could do with an extra chair so six can sit together.
- Richard (9/5): We would have loved to stay longer. Plenty of space to spread out. - The size of the property was much bigger than expected. Great welcome basket and bathroom products. Thicker black out blinds would have been nice
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (8/5): Very good - Location and space in the house. Everything you need.Lovely welcome pack. Only 1 parking space on the front,
we did eventually get another on the road.
No instructions for anything.
Very hot in the house (radiators were on) even when we turned the thermostat down.
Garden wasn't really usable, it needs a bit of TLC.
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikita (10/5): Beautiful home - Beautiful home and decor, very spacious rooms and garden. Walking distance from the centre. It was quite hot in our bedroom and we couldn't open the windows.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great- would defo stay again. - Lovely. Clean and welcoming. Only weird thing was when we arrived the patio door in one of the bedrooms was wide open. We just hoped that someone had forgot to close it as nothing was missing and it wasn’t burgled!
- Cat (10/5): Fantastic comfortable and relaxing stay with friends in Bournemouth! ✨ - Beautiful property 5 mins drive from the beach and bars/ restaurants. Beautifully designed - big rooms and very comfortable with everything you need for a great stay! Great kitchen for communing in. Even some outside space to relax in PLUS parking. Plenty of space for everyone and then some! Including 3 bathrooms between us. Just a few minutes walk from shops and a lovely local pub too. The owners could not have done more for us - lovely treats on arrival, great communication, recommendations for everything we needed and they even bent over backwards to help us resolve a last minute drop out from one of the members of the group! We couldn’t recommend the property more highly. A fantastic place to stay as a group of friends for a lovely weekend in Bournemouth! The beds were also super comfy! 5 stars! 🤩 Nothing!
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): High quality house / flat in a very nice part of Bournemouth. Would stay again - Very nice place with everything you need. 5 min drive, 20 min walk into town. Very helpful hosts. Arrival gifts of Prosecco, chocs, crisps a nice touch. Very nice area too. Nothing to add
- Hamza (10/5): A perfect getaway spot that felt like a home away from home - relaxing, comfortable, and unforgettable. - Everything! The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had such a warm, welcoming feel. It had all the comforts of home but with a touch of luxury that made the stay feel really special. The location felt peaceful and private. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were super comfortable, and there was plenty of space to relax and unwind. It’s clear the hosts really care about the guest experience, because every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Everything was perfect.
- Paula (9/5): Lovely Stay, would definitely book again ! - Location, Customer Service was excellent. Comfort. Super Clean and lovely smell in property. Lack of basic kitchen utensils ie, sieve, serving spoons
The boiler wasn’t on when we arrived so no hot water.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The size and location Nothing
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (9/5): Had an amazing time away with friends. The location was prefect, with lots of parking around. The place was clean and pr - Clean and spacious Downstairs room with two single beds had not curtains or blinds so sun woke some of us up but otherwise prefect
