Guest Reviews
- Dwayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brindle (1/5): Didn't - Nothing Everything
- Karamjeet (8/5): Very good -
- Garry (7/5): All in all OK but must know guest is due - Very near Carshalton center They didn't know i was coming until computer was checked
- Robin (5/5): If you are on a tight budget and just want a roof over your head and a bed then this place is fine. - One of the best things about this place is the off-road parking on the private drive. It's in walking distance from local shops and not too far from a few churches. When I arrived, Kate welcomed me by name and showed me round. She used few words but it was clear what she was saying. The stairs and bathroom have lights operated by movement, and these were useful. The bedroom door locks and has a modesty sheet over the otherwise transparent door. The bed is comfortable (although the pillows are too flat). The accommodation is very basic. You have access to the family kitchen and living room but I did not make use of these myself. The bathroom and toilet are shared with the family. The toilet is separate from the bathroom and has no wash basin, meaning that if you need the loo then you need both the toilet and the bathroom. I found the bathroom engaged on three occasions when I wanted it, including at 4am when it sounded like someone was having a shower! Sticking with the bathroom, although the light does work, the switch is temperamental and sometimes you might need to pull it several times to get the light to remain on. The window is always left open, regardless of how cold or windy it is. I discovered on the last day that the bolt on the door is broken so unless you pull it all the way across you could get a nasty shock when a gust of wind blows the door wide open! As for the shower, Kate pointed out to me the standalone unit in the corner but when I came to use it I found it didn't work at all. There was an alternative over the bath, although the bath itself was uninviting with a large tuft of hair left inside it.
The bedroom is spartan, to say the least. When I was first shown in, it was freezing cold because the window had been left open. All the walls are bare and badly in need of decorating, especially behind the wardrobe where the paper is peeling away dreadfully. There was no armchair, as depicted, just a wooden chair with a split in its leg. The wardrobe door hinge was broken and the dressing table mirror could be clearer. In the corner of the room is a fridge, which although has power is completely useless because the door seal has perished so nothing inside remains cold. The carpet needs vacuuming.
- Orhan (1/5): Bad - I need urgently contact with Booking.com. I was shocked to see that on the same day while I was in plain. I got a late message that my reservation via you was declined. I have paid via internet banking. It was a very bad experience. They cleaned the room from garbage in front of me ... :(
said no room, but we can make ... the women said that she wanted to marry me. I run away ! I called my son in Birmingham, who said to come to his house. So I was frozen and terribly traumatised what i experienced. Please reimburse me! I need that money back. I'm very surprised and shocked that Booking.com can have such accommodation... pls answer me at galjus@gmail.com
