Guest Reviews
- Lawson (9/5): - Accommodation had everything you could want. Well equipped kitchen and the best clean tea towel replacement service ever! Parking sometimes was a little difficult especially when first arriving late and had to carry heavy baggage some distance.

- paula (10/5): Cozy, good vibes - Very nice hostess, great terrace and kitchen No water in the kitchen, no hairdryer, no shelf for clothes in the room

- Samuele (7/5): - The room was tidy and close to the shared bathroom. The lady managing the facility was kind and supportive. Photos can be misleading. I was expecting to be able to see the sea but I couldn’t.

- Louise (7/5): Good value for money just outside of the city - Nice location in a town (suburb?) just outside of Santa Cruz, close to a beach. The shared bathroom was clean, the room very basic, but fine. A good place for a decent price if you prefer to stay out of the noise and fumes of the city and as a base to explore the island. They also have a lovely roof terrace to hang out. I didn't use the shared kitchen. The room I was in, was at street level. So with the windows opened, you get a lot of street noise from people who are chatting and walking by, and passing cars. Also, when the people living downstairs were cooking and watching tv in the kitchen, I got to enjoy the sounds and smells of that as well (albeit very good smells). But they respect quiet hours, so it was quiet during the night.
- Sandrita.Sub (5/5): - La azotea y cocina equipada.

- Gunnar (7/5): Great hostess, nice accomodation, bad neighboorhood - It was a nice room with a queen bed and everything was very clean. You have a kitchen upstairs where you can cook, and also a nice cozy terras to eat and relax. The accommodation gives you all that you need for a good price. The host Viktoria is a very nice lady! She did everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible and even lended me her fan. Big love for Viktoria! Location: it is close to Santa Cruz as well as Las Teresitas beach however the neighbourhood is dangerous. On the staircases there are often local youths sitting hanging around. AVOID THEM. I think they may be gangsters targetting tourists, because at about 7 or 8 pm when the sun went down on my way to the accommodation someone came asking me for money and when i said no, the coward from behind me tried to knock me unconsious to take my money... I fell with my head on the street and then he only stopped hitting because i started yelling loud: POLICIA HELP. I broke my nose, blood everywhere, night in hospital, medical bills + had a big headache so some days i had to stay home and rest. It was awful. It's a shame because the accomodation itself and the host were really great, i would have given a 10 overall but such an attack makes it that i would never go in that area again ;/

- Viktar (6/5): - Terrace Cigarette smell

- Jerome (1/5): Tiny, dusty, cold and the air was thicc you could cut it. - Nothing really *BE AWARE THAT THE REVIEWS MUST BE FAKED*
There is just no other way, all of them seem so positive, we had a totally different experience.
The room was super tiny. We could not sleep because the bed was so uncomfortable and you could not get any fresh air into the room, it was super hard to breathe. As someone with a dust allergy I had one of the worst outbreaks ever in this house. The blanket was just one really thin sheet that couldn’t cover two people. We left at 4:00 am in the morning because we both could not sleep. I had an headache because of the thick air there.
I would really recommend you to go just *anywhere* else. We’ve been to several other places the last two weeks booking the cheapest rooms we could find. Everyone of them was better than this, even the cheaper ones. Sometime we had a pool and a balcony with a nice clean room and super nice personal for 28.00€ instead of 37.00€, I wouldn’t go there if someone would pay me todo so.

- Leena Lota (9/5): All you could need - Simple house, cozy and clean. Nice host too, we very much liked our stay

- Hazim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Müsseref (8/5): Very good -
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible little rooftop terrace and equipped kitchen with free coffee....what more can you ask for?! No negatives, IMO
- Izabella (10/5): Amazing facilities and the location. - The room was great. It’s my second time, but first time I took the room 2 which was quite small, but the room with mountain view is great size, close to bathroom. I love the kitchen and the tarrace with mountain and sea view. Location is amazing, 30 min walk on the sea promenade to the city center, close to La playa Tersitas, 10 min by car, or bus! Very close to swimming complex. You can find a parking as well. …
- Boris (7/5): Good - Helpfull owner.Good kitchen and terrase. Very small and uncomfortable room.Very simple ,but I don"t expectation something other for this price.
- Izabella (9/5): A great stay, the room is a bit small but you have everything you need. The staff were amazing! - The location, great roof taras and kitchen. The location is great, 5 min to bus stop and the walking path by the ocean. Very quiet area. The room is very small. The bathroom as well. If you have a big luggage it can be a challenge with all steps.
- Aleksandra (9/5): Superb - We had an amazing stay! The apartment is absolutely wonderful – beautifully decorated in a charming boho style, with everything you could possibly need. It's located in a quiet and peaceful area, which made our stay even more relaxing.
The balcony and the stunning view were definitely the highlights – just perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel very welcome. Honestly, this place is simply perfect, and it truly feels like the owners created something special here. We would love to come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and beautiful getaway! Just a small note – the apartment is not suitable for people who have difficulty walking, as there are quite a lot of stairs to climb.
- Jakub (7/5): Good - accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of the city, access by code the beds were so-so
- Chrissie (8/5): Great location for hiking, beach, and airport access - We had a wonderful stay at Casa de la Tortuga. After a couple of days hiking in Anaga Rural Park, we stopped here on our way back to the South Airport and had a relaxing beach day at Playa de las Teresitas, which is just down the road. The location was perfect for this, with direct bus routes from Anaga and easy access to Santa Cruz and the airport.
Our room was lovely, and the lady looking after the property was incredibly responsive. The terrace was a beautiful place to unwind, and having a local supermarket nearby was really convenient. Valleseco is a small, quiet town on the outskirts of Santa Cruz, making it a peaceful place to stay.
- Elena (7/5): Good -
- Tamas (6/5): Pleasant - The kitchen was nice The bed was uncomfortable
- James (6/5): Clean and tidy, sensible value but quite a way to eateries. - Location was slightly curious, I had to walk up two sets of stairs on the street to reach property.
- Noémie (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice shared apartment near Santa Cruz but away from the bustle of the city. The terrace is perfect for some long breakfasts ;) There are buses nearby to the town, the beach and the mountains. We really enjoyed staying at CasaTortuga!
- Hanna (10/5): Exceptional - I really like this place. The house and the room were very cozy, nice and clean. The kitchen has everything that we needed. The host is very nice. We also liked the terrace. 10 minutes drive to the beach, which is well equipped. We stayed for 6 nights and found it very comfortable.
- Karlis (8/5): Very good -
- Emanuel (10/5): Exceptional - Simple place with amazing value for money
- Ágnes (10/5): Amazing - The rooftop terrace is amazing, and the whole building is very cute.
The kitchen is very well-equipped.
The host was amazingly kind and helpful! Finding a parking place is a bit hard, as the streets are very narrow with a lot of cars, but if you keep looking you will surely find something. (Free parking on the street)
- Jakub (9/5): Superb - I really liked the room, it was cozy and clean. The location is on the suburbs on the city, but there is a bus, which takes approximately 15 minutes to the city centre. A free car parking is nearby the place.
- Agnes (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy accommodation! The terrace and the kitchen are really great. The room was also excellent in its simplicity. I guess it is ideal for those who are looking for an authentic place with beautiful places to visit. And Playa Teresitas is one of the most wonderful beaches in the world. Thank you for the kindness of the host! I will be back soon!! 😊
- Bernadett (8/5): Nice accomodation with little to no parking place in the area - Staff was super nice, room was clean and comfortable. Terrace was really nice. It is a struggle to find parking place in the area. Also the room got really hot during the night (late September)
- Yassine (9/5): Superb -
- Michaela (8/5): Very good -
- Maya (9/5): Lovely budget stay, beautiful location, great host. - Loved Casa Tortuga! I stayed for two nights with my partner. The location was great, it was ~10 minutes from Santa Cruz on the 910 bus (although other buses travel that route) and they go every ten minutes. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the facilities were good. The kitchen terrace was beautiful, you can cook dinner and eat it outside with the view of the mountains. There's a HiperDino supermarket less than 15 minutes walk for groceries. A great beach (Las Teresitas) is another 10 minutes north on the bus. If you wanted to explore the Anaga Rural park, the 947 bus goes directly from the bus stop just on the main road and it's a beautiful journey into the mountains (there are trails starting from Chamorga at the end of the route). Our host Gabriel was lovely and we had some really interesting chats! Our room was the smaller room (not the mountain view) and it faced the next street, which could be a bit loud until about 11pm, which wasn't an issue for us but may bother very light sleepers. The main door is a bit stiff (you have to turn the lock clockwise until you meet resistance then jam it a bit further clockwise until it opens)
- Ainhoa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ilze (10/5): Easy self-check-in and check-out, quiet area, clean accommodations, and excellent value for money. - I appreciated the fact that the guest house is located on a very quiet street and has a top-floor terrace with nice view. The shower cabin was rather small, and I noticed a rusty ladder on the terrace that appears to be falling apart. Although it's still being used to access the rooftop, I'm concerned about its safety and believe it should be replaced.
- Davide (10/5): Exceptional - The appartment Is very nice. The terrace is cozy and enjoyable. Katalin is a great host!
- Martina (9/5): Great price for an amazing accommodation. It s a hidden gem. Las Teresitas very close by car. - The place is very unique, remote but very close to San Andrés. The place is very comfy. There are just 2 rooms and a very nice girl who takes care of the house. Great kitchen and a lovely terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast or dinner. No parking place. You have to park your car a few streets lower the place and walk up to the house.
- Andy (9/5): Hidden Gem behind Santa Cruz - The accommodation is nicely decorated, in a quiet location. It has a really nice terrace up top where you can chill and work if need be and just chat with other people staying there. The kitchen is well equipped with a lot of room for personal items. It was very nice getting to know the host who was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. It is well priced for the location and the time of year we went, with easy connections to other parts of the island and beaches. It is a 45 minute walk to the city centre if you fancy a stroll. While the accommodation is nicely decorated and maintained, the pillows are crying out for an upgrade. They do not provide enough neck support.
- Yara (10/5): Amazing - The staff were very very helpful and kind, the place is very clean and quite
- Anna (10/5): Great place to stay - Great terrace, well equipped and clean kitchen. Staff is very nice :) Tiny shower
- Fernando (10/5): Exceptional - Casa Tortuga offers a really nice, paceful and friendly enviroment. Having breakfast in its terrace is all pleasure.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional - The check in and check out were great. Very flexible and the staff was very nice.
Thank you
- Johan (9/5): Superb - Our host was so kind,we really had a great moment there. The house was quite clean, nice view and the location is also good. The wifi could be better.
- Marton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - The host is amazing! Think I got a new friend now. My stay was like a yogaretreat without doing any Yoga.
- Giacomo (10/5): host is very great -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming
Small, cute and clean
Close to city and beach
Cheap Nada
- Istvan (8/5): Great accommodation at a good price - Very good value for money accommodation on the outskirts of the city. Quiet street, average facilities, small room, but the roof terrace compensates. The kitchen and bathrooms are also good, the host is friendly and informative. The city center is quickly and cheaply accessible by public transport, the bus stop is 5 minutes walk. Despite the small size of the room, some shelves could be installed on the wall, because there was almost nowhere to put the things.
- Molly (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely clean facilities, and a very short walk to the bus stop that takes you right into the city. Host was lovely to talk to Nothing
- Daniel (10/5): Magical - The room was cozy and the house was peaceful. Kata was a fantastic host, making my stay in Tenerife delightful and meaningful. Would definitely stay there again next time.
- Viktoryia (8/5): Very good - Everything is fine Difficult to find a parking space
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - The welcoming by Kate was very nice, she helped us in every way, answered all our questions and even recommended places to go to. All in all I think this was one of our best stays in Tenerife. There were no downsights at all. We were more than happy.
- Roman (10/5): Exceptional - The house is very clean and after a fresh renovation. The design is simple and lovely. It will be appreciated by minimalists. 🤌The view from the terrace is beautiful and very Canarian. 👌Everything you need for living is there. But I'd say the main gem of that place is the people. I was lucky to meet the owner and the administrator of Casa Tortuga. We spend hours enjoying conversations. 🫶
- Marika (8/5): Very good - Kitchen and bathroom clean and good equipped. Terrace was nice. The rooms are too small with a specific smell without air conditioning. We could not open/close a window, it was in a fixed position. The window was in the level of opposite motor way.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - The friendly host and the nice kitchen and view from the rooftop It was a little bit warm in the bedroom
