Guest Reviews
- Heather (7/5): Property was good, I should have done more research on the area as there wasn’t much to do locally. - Plenty of room- upstairs and downstairs. You could feel the springs in the mattress in the second room.
- Alison (9/5): Lovely homely house in a quiet old mining village. - The property was clean and well-presented and the host had put up Christmas decorations especially for us. The house is well kitted out. The downstairs toilet had a lot of condensation on the floor and walls. Access to the beach was rather a long way around on foot.
- katrina (7/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Very clean, comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated accommodation. - It’s bright, modern decor and spacious accommodation. Nothing
- Ron (10/5): - Lovely, bright, and spacious property. Nothing much, just parking was a little awkward with all the drives having some sort of ramp in front of them.
- Shahid (9/5): A house that exceeded our expectations and made us feel at home. - The property exceeded our expectations. Clean, spacious and comfortable. The host was always quick to respond too. The books and games were a nice touch. I would happily recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area. I know I'm being picky, but we could have done with a washing up sponge and tablets for the washing machine. This is our only negative. So take some with you.
- Evgeny (10/5): A wonderful spot for a family holiday. - A lovely and peaceful place, perfect for a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle. If you have a car, you can visit the beach and explore castles. Equipped with everything you need – clean, stylish, and bright. Excellent value for money.
- gary (10/5): Blissful break - Spotlessly clean spacious rooms quiet area good for getting around northumberland lovely friendly owners cant wait to return Nothing
- Tina (9/5): - Lots of space, well equipped kitchen, close to beach
- Bryony (9/5): Superb - The house was brilliant - had everything you needed. Everyone in the area so friendly. A very quiet area. Bed was a little uncomfy and need black out blinds or curtains on the bedroom as at 4am in summer months a lot of light was coming through the blinds. These are personal preferences though.
- Natalie (10/5): A beautiful home from home feel in an immaculately clean house - An outstanding property, the house was immaculate! Beautifully presented, really had a home from home feeling. Was lovely to come back in the evening and relax on the extremely comfortable couch. Rooms were unbelievably spacious! The front room suited myself, partner and our 2 younger boys perfectly, we let our teenage son use the back room as he likes his privacy of an evening. The downstairs toilet was an added bonus and the kitchen was a great size. Our 3 year old especially loved the mini golf game and all the space he had to play. I can’t recommend this property enough. Just everything about it was lovely! We will 100% stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay! There’s absolutely nothing I can put here as we loved everything about our stay!
- Nick (10/5): Beautiful home - Absolutely spotless, beautiful house. Made our stay with the kids and absolute joy. Everything we needed, and more. Spacious enough for 2 adults and 4 kids. Nothing, it was 1st class
- Clare (9/5): Lovely relaxing bank holiday in great area, perfect place to unwind and get some quality time. - Lovely house, cosy and chic. Great location for beaches and lovely walks. Mattress was a bit hard. Otherwise perfect!
- Tamara (10/5): Fabulous find - So much space and well furnished . There was nothing we didn't like.
- Lin (9/5): Wonderful stay - Lovely clean, spacious and everything we could of wanted Only criticism would be it would of been nice if the heating was on when we arrived
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -

- David (9/5): Superb - clean and very spacious, really comfy beds! only 5 forks in cutlery draw ...... and there were 6 of us......minor point!
- Donna (10/5): Would definitely recommend - The house was just beautiful and spacious Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): Comfortable, clean and great location for exploring the Northumberland coastline - Beautifully refurbished and clean Nothing
- Holly (8/5): Tracy should be proud of her house. Would definitely consider going back :) - Very welcoming and dog friendly 🐾 The bed and furniture was a bit too low for our needs.
- Julie (10/5): Nice family weekend - The property was very clean & spacious, great location for exploring the coast. Nothing to not like, it was perfect for what we needed.
- Graham (9/5): The property was absolutely lovely, well decorated and clean. Everything we needed was there and we had a great time. To - Clean, modern and well kept It would have been nice to have curtains in the bedrooms, not just vertical blinds, especially at 4o’clock in the morning. However, this is the only thing we could worry about and we would definitely book again!!
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): Excellent - Lovely spacious house, perfect for a family stay and extremely dog friendly. Decor is very nice, kitchen has everything you need, furniture is very comfortable and the area was quiet. We all had a great stay here, thank you very much Nothing
- David (10/5): Super clean and comfortable. - The comfort and cleanliness All that I had to do was pop to the corner shop and get a pint of milk. Nothing, everything was good.
- Nicola (10/5): We had a lovely stay, the property is in an excellent location if you’re wanting to explore all the lovely surrounding b - It was really spacious & contemporary. The house is very well kept & felt like a home away from home. Nothing.
- Lisa (10/5): Great space and very well thought out, wonderful family & dog friendly place to stay - The location was brilliant for exploring the local sites and the beautiful beaches that are so close by. It was very private, well catered for families and couples or just for adults and had good local amenities. The place was very clean and comfortable and Tracy was very good and helpful, assisting with our lost property and very understanding. It was a real bonus that the owners are so dog friendly and the little touches like dog bowls, towels etc. there were treats for the adults too, very kindly leaving a bottle of wine for us on arrival 10/10 :) Can’t think of anything
- Alison (6/5): Industrial pit village - Very nice, clean house, very spacious rooms, very nicely decorated with good facilities. Nice large TV and good bathroom and heating. The location. Whilst geographically it is in an excellent position for exploring the Northumberland coast, Lynemouth itself leaves a lot to be desired. A tired purpose built pit village with very few facilities or redeeming factors. There is a chippy and Chinese takeaway. Site of the power station, wind farm, large caravan storage facility and travellers site. Did not find a suitable local access to the beach (still a black beach due to past coal mining), cliffs unstable and spoiled by what looks like vehicle racing tracks, rubbish, dumping and fires. Broken glass littered a lot of the pathway to the beach area. Even the River Lyne is unattractive, brown and marshy. Unless you are prepared to drive to somewhere nicer, especially of an evening, Lynemouth may not be for you.
Also the garden areas are not particularly dog friendly, secure but either patio/decking or chippings.
- Tracy (10/5): A perfect property - Perfect house in a perfect location, it was so clean, the rooms were all of a good size, good size TV which is what we always like, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, secure front and back gardens for the little dog, just perfect, warm and cosy for a nice winter break, beautiful beaches on your doorstep, cannot fault this property at all. Also the Christmas Tree and all the other decorations around the house were so sweet.
- Lin (10/5): Bracken dene - Very spacious, very well equipped
- Ashley (10/5): Very nice. Very comfortable. Would stay again and recommed. - Very comfortable, dog friendly and very clean. Had everything we needed. Nothing.
- Kelly (10/5): Well appointed and very comfortable and relaxing - This is a very relaxing environment. There is a convenient store at one end of the street and a track to let the dog off the lead at the other end, so you can very quickly get settled in. The host provided some lovely welcome treats including the dogs too! It is well situated to explore the coast line in either direction. The beds are very comfortable indeed and everything is very well appointed. Both the back and front garden were secure, which added to the relaxed atmosphere when travelling with dogs.
- Sarah (9/5): Much needed break - The house was lovely and cosy Nothing not too like
- Jenean (10/5): Cozy Seaside Glam Cottage - I felt as if I were coming “home” each day. This unassuming cottage, from the outside, is exceedingly comfortable, spacious, and inviting. Having been obviously renovated with much thought, it provided a perfect respite in Northumberland. The host embraces a “glam” theme with the details, and it works for the property to its advantage, yet still feels super cozy! Nothing
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Igor (10/5): Hasle and stress free. - High end finish, it can, very comfortably host up to 6ppl. Extra credit to cleaner as she was helpful, well mannered and smiling 😀
- Anonymous (9/5): We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. - Exceptionally clean, very well equipped and spacious. Nothing we didn’t like.
- Boyle (10/5): Very enjoyable & great value for the house. - Great base to be able to travel to the beaches each one o more than 30 mins away.👍 Nearest pub 1 1/2 miles away so had to drive.
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little house. Exceptionally clean, very comfortable and homely.
- Shuna (10/5): Just lovely! - It was so welcoming, bright, clean, warm and with everything we could possibly need. We immediately felt comfortable and were able to relax & enjoy our holiday. Brilliant communication - loved it!
Thank you so much - would definitely come back if we were in Northumberland Nothing at all!
- Lucy (10/5): A gem of a place - House was just fab in every way, clean (place smells amazing) really big bright rooms, comfy beds, plenty of seating inside and outside areas, I think everything was catered for like tea, coffee, towels, all bedding and welcome treats for us and our dog were lovely and very appreciated (thankyou Tracy!) Easy check-in. Parking on roadside, no issues with space to park right outside house. Loved all the garden solar lights. This place just feels very special and we felt so welcome straight away. Great location for exploring. Nice to have 11am vacate time, less stress with getting organized. I could go on!! highly recommend Bracken Dene. Going home, that's all. No negatives at all, had a lovely weekend.
- Watson (9/5): Excellent really nice - Lovely well looked after accommodation Salad bowl
- Wendy (10/5): Beautiful holiday home. So clean & well equipped. Very spacious & good outside space . Location fab - Everything was spot on . SO clean and the space was amazing . It was equipped with everything for a self catering break. The patio and front outside space were fab with plenty of outdoor furniture. Location was perfect to explore the beautiful beaches and villages on the Northumbria coast . Little convenience store almost next door ... sells everything . Plus the Chinese down the road is one of the best we've tried . Would love to return. Everything was Fabulous
- Clare (8/5): Great weekend away ! - really lovely home, it’s massive, the pictures don’t do the space justice at all, it can easily sleep 6 adults, if not more.
It’s really well stocked with everything you need, a proper home away from home.
it’s a couple of miles to newbiggjn and about a mile to cresswell, so really well located. There’s a great shop at the end of the road, literally about 2 mins walk and possibly the best Chinese I’ve ever eaten from about 5 mins in the other direction.
The bed in the main bedroom is exceptionally comfortable, the water pressure is great, so the shower is very good - oh and there’s a downstairs loo !
The settee is massive and really really comfortable ! - absolutely nothing to fall out with, it’s great value for money ! nothing !
- Magggdaa (9/5): Superb - Clean, nicely decorated house we felt great in. Kids did not want to leave...
- Ian (10/5): lovely property - clean, spacious, good location bath towels a bit small
- Carolin (10/5): Exceptional - it was lovley
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - immaculately clean, spacious, modern, newly refurbished, everything you need is available and is easy to find in the property.
the welcome pack, the table decorated and the Christmas decorations with a tree was a lovely cosy added touch which I loved. couldn’t fault it
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Tracy (10/5): good location for beach, only 5 mins to cresswell, what more do you need! - all brand new, stocked kitchen, and nice welcome pack
