Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): - Cozy, had everything we needed Nothing - although maybe invest in some slightly bigger mugs for tea (that’s about it though!)
- Birch (7/5): We enjoyed our stay - Secluded - within a lovely, leafy and private garden
Comfortable. Overpriced.
The TV didn’t work on the first night for some reason.
The tike grout in the bathroom needed cleaning
Not much hanging space for clothes and towels to dry.
- Katherine (10/5): It was just what I needed for my weekend musc workshop in Bundanoon - Comfortable clean and quiet. Perfect I would have liked bigger tea cups and some fresh milk
- Brigitte (10/5): It was a small quaint little cottage that was well kept, very clean and had a country feel about it. The host went above - It was a small quaint little cottage that was well kept, very clean and had a country feel about it. Nothing.
- Ellie (10/5): Best cottage stay - Cosy vibe with a fireplace outside and enclosed garden safe for the dog. Close to cafes and dog park - perfect!!
- Julie (9/5): - Clean, comfortable Chairs were not comfortable
- Mark (9/5): Enjoyed the stay and it met expectations. host was also on hand to assist us. - Cosy little retreat in a beautiful setting, where modern amenities blends with old world charm Just on a minor note. my wife would have liked a comfortable chair and table outside.
- Gabriela (9/5): Beautiful, cozy garden cottage - The location was very nice and so was the style of the cottage. It was cozy, well equipped, and clean. The cottage gets warm through the day in the summer but cools down significantly over night, so it's still nice. Absolutely loved listening to the many different birds in the morning. This is more so a tip for other travellers - bring a mosquito repellent as there are many.
- Becky (9/5): Restful and comfortable stay. - Cute and cosy stay. Lovely decor and facilities, especially enjoyed the coffee and comfortable bed.
Location was great for getting to Fairy Bower Falls and Morton National Park. Slight privacy issues with the neighbour next door being able to see us from his backyard, but he was friendly.
Only a microwave and toaster, so have to go out to eat.
- Alyce (10/5): A fantastic stay in the highlands, peaceful and tranquil, definitely need to go back! - A beautiful oasis, peaceful and private, loved it! Nothing
- Kathy (8/5): -
- Jess (10/5): - Charming and cosy stay!
Loved this sweet little cottage—very comfortable and perfectly located just a short walk to the main street. The fenced yard was a huge plus for my pup, who had a great time exploring. Great heating made it extra comfy. Would definitely stay again!
- Isabella2411 (9/5): Super cute little cottage - Super cute, small little cottage, very nicely decorated and furnished. Comfy bed, had everything you need (even a heated blanket for winter). Bundanoon center is literally a 2 minute walk. Very lovely enclosed garden area for our little doggy. Loved the big shower, felt like a spa. No aircon, so quite warm at night even with the doors open. Around a million cockatoos tweeting in the morning from 5am.
- Christine (10/5): Cozy, and well appointed beautiful cabin - We loved the location and the entire stay was amazing. Nothing. Everything was wonderful.
- Rebecca (10/5): Wonderful little cabin, beautiful inside and out. Set amongst gorgeous gardens and so private. - Gorgeous little cabin set amongst beautiful garden, very private and so close to the pub.
Best of all we could have our dog join us.
- duncan (9/5): Good host and breakfast - Very handy spot to clubs and shops a great breakfast Nothing
- Suzanne (9/5): We liked it & would definitely stay again - Private, quiet, so close to everything
- pammieg (9/5): Pet friendly and cosy overnight getaway - The cottage was well insulated so even though the temperature dropped at night we were quite warm. Vanessa thought of everything, the place was well supplied for an overnight stay. Good shower with nice smelling toiletries. Very quiet and peaceful too. Street parking but wasn't a problem as it is a very quiet street
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely and relaxing - Lovely quiet cosy cottage in a beautiful town.
- Astrid (9/5): Cute little cottage at the bottom of the garden - Gorgeous little cottage type accommodation that was cosy and comfortable. Good amenities for a few nights away. Close to hotel which helps when looking for food and close enough to other shops across the railway line after a short walk.
Coffee machine and milk provided. Bathroom facilities clean and modern. We were very happy to have chosen this accommodation over the hotel.
Our host was helpful and friendly . Nothing really, but an optional breakfast basket would make this place 10/10 .
A bit of a guide to local amenities would have been helpful too. There was a folder, but didn't have the simple things lke chemist , shops , town centre . Nothing too hard if you are used to googling .

- Rod (9/5): The Retreat is very quaint, private and in a lovely location, easy to park and close to the town. -

- Jacqui (9/5): Will definitely be back , fabulous welcoming hostess . - A lovely little cottage situated in a great spot ! It had everything we needed to make for a very enjoyable weekend. We enjoyed the garden and beautiful bird life. Very clean and comfortable. Our old bones would have benefited from a more comfortable chairs but that says more about us than the chairs !
- merry and Pete (8/5): - I can't comment on the staff/owners. I didn't see anyone.
It would have been nice to have a bottle of water in the fridge.
The fridge needed defrosting. The bathroom sink had a little mould around the drain hole and there was a box of paper waste next to the front door.
But the instructions to get in were very clear and the room was well furnished and convenient. oh...see above. I put it all in one.
- Roffey (10/5): Bundanoon Garden retreat exceeded my expectations. - The location of the property was ideal for our purposes. Loved the vibe of Bundanoon. The accommodation was great, a short walk down the path from the street into a lovely cottage. The bed was very comfortable which was a bonus.
- Philippa (7/5): Studio with a chorus of songbirds - The backyard studio is around the corner from the railway station and an easy walk to town centre. It was nicely decorated with stained glass windows, although some features were not all practical. The sounds of local birds was lovely. The electric blanket came into use on an unexpected and particularly cold weekend. Height of studio sloping ceiling was not good for very tall people due to low height, nor were the low seated chairs (which we ultimately used to put the copious, unwanted cushions). It would have been good to have utensils, in addition to the limited cutlery, for cooking and food preparation. The cottage garden needs some TLC. Extra space under the bathroom sink would be useful for personal vanity items.

- Jennifet (10/5): -
- Felipe Anton (9/5): Excellent for a quick getaway - Very quaint and cosy . Location was excellent for our weekend plans. The fenced area was great for our dog to sniff and wonder about.
- Timothy (10/5): Beautiful garden cottage in close proximity to town centre and local eateries - Beautiful garden cottage, expertly outfitted and a short walk to the town centre Nothing !
- Fiona (9/5): -
- Graham (6/5): Cute but lacking comfort - Cute and private. Lovely big shower. Sadly, it seemed that little preparation had been made for our arrival - patio entrance and door mats were covered in dirt and leaves which unfortunately we brought into the room, the beautiful windows were very dirty, as were the Dyson fan and kitchen sink. On entry, the room and soft fabrics were cold, damp and unwelcoming and only coffee was provided - a bit of a shock for we as tea drinkers. The two chairs were definitely not designed for sitting in comfort so we made a 'nest' on the bed from the many cushions and ended up having a relaxing evening watching TV.
All in all a rather disappointing stay which didn't live up to expectations.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - The cosy atmosphere
- Argine (9/5): Superb - What a wonderful hidden retreat.
Definitely we will return.
- Danielle (7/5): Good -
- Robyn (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely charming beautifully renovated cottage. Immaculate and spotless. Beautiful secure garden for my little dogs to explore. There are 2 cottages. We stayed at Cobblers cottage. The garden retreat is behind that. Don't miss it if you are stopping at pretty Bundanoon. Absolutely nothing.
- Kerry (8/5): Very enjoyable and convenient. - The property is beautifully appointed. Much thought has gone into designing a tasteful and functional space. The curtains covering the main entrance were too thin to keep out the ambient light from outside. They offered little privacy and no insulation against the cold. I think the room needs more cross ventilation to help reduce condensation.
- Paula (10/5): Relaxing! - Quiet and cosy, perfect for a couple's getaway. Loved that it was dog-friendly too for our pooch!
We enjoyed the fire pit, the heater and electric blanket when it was cold. Brilliant location, walking distance to all the main shops and restaurants. There was nothing we didn't like. We just wanted to relax and this place let us do just that.
- Barrack (7/5): Good -
- Linda (10/5): Totally recommend for a comfortable clean and friendly travel - The location was handy to shops the bungalow was comfortable clean tidy nice bed loved the shower staff was very friendly great trip. Highly recommended
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Enchanting cabin! - It's really enchanting with so many thoughtful touches - heated towel rail, macaroons, fresh coffee & milk, electric blankets. It was very private & comfortable and great location, few minutes walk to Bundanoon Hotel and town. We will definitely be back.
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rafael (8/5): Very good -

- Muriel (9/5): Superb -
- Jake (9/5): Superb -
- Bernadette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (8/5): Very good - Great location. No hot water in shower on the second (last) day
- Christine (10/5): We had a much needed relaxing break, albeit a short one. - Quiet, cosy and welcoming Couldn’t find a negative.
- Katherine (9/5): Lovely getaway - Absolutely gorgeous location, in a lovely garden, walking distance to the main Street, and just a short drive (4-5 minutes) to some absolutely spectacular bushwalks. Accommodation was cosy and clean, and had everything we need. Host was super friend ok y and have is good advice on where to go for food/winery. I found the pillows quite high and hard, but that's probably just me - I usually take my own pillow because I know I'm fussy that way. Not a biggie.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good - Close to town , comfortable with some lovely features
- Lucy (9/5): Cottage is very comfortable and clean. Short walk to town centre and love the garden aspect. Shower rain head is the bes - Well appointed, clean and cosy NA
- Ann-maree (5/5): I was very glad that I had only booked for one night. - The building is pretty and has a comfortable bed. Everything works. At present (October 2024) the main house, only 6m from the cabin, is is under total renovation and is a building site. Although the guest cabin is pretty and well decorated, it is very inappropriate to charge over $200 per night. At least the bed was comfortable.
- Angela (8/5): Very good - It was beautifully appointed and clean. Vanessa was very helpful
- Tina (9/5): Superb - We had a beautiful stay for a long weekend. The place is full of home feeling ,very cosy.
The location is great, just few minutes walk from the Main Street. It worth to come back again.
- Carmelo (9/5): Came away feeling relaxed - Great place for a couples getaway- quiet and loved the fire pit at night
- Maslova (7/5): Nice & cozy - Nice & cozy, they accept pets Not very private
- Elizabeth (10/5): We enjoyed our stay at Beautiful Bundanoon Garden Retreat. - Lovely bed sit, everything you could need. Very comfortable . Loved the out door fire pit! Georgia’s garden! Beautiful stained glass windows. Terrific location!
Vanessa was friendly and welcoming. A great host, loved the brownies for afternoon tea 😀 Exhaust fan in bathroom did not seem to clear steam from the shower.
- Kechagias (10/5): Will definitely be staying again at this property - The property was very clean and comfortable. Very cosy stay away from Home. And the owner was very friendly.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (10/5): Lovely, short stay at the Garden Retreat. - The Garden Retreat is gorgeous, tucked away from the steeet and very quiet, beautifully presented, very clean and very comfortable.
Vanessa is a lovely host and being able to take our little poodle with us was an extra bonus. The cottage is very convenient to the Main Street, eateries and the Bundanoon Hotel. Highly recommend this lovely property.
- Lea (10/5): Highly recommended - I had a beautiful night here with my dog Leroy. Gorgeous accommodation. Beautifully appointed. Warm and cosy. Exceptionally clean. Walking distance to the local pub and restaurants. Was perfect, maybe a dog fence at the entrance of the cottage.
- Justine (10/5): A perfect retreat to relax and recharge the batteries, especially with the bush walks of Morton national park a few minu - So much care was put into all the details that make for a delightful stay, from the fresh cut flowers to the cookie platter. Loved everything about this place, the gorgeous decorations, the luxurious touches and waking to the sound of birds in the garden.
- Calem (10/5): Exceptional - Vanessa was an excellent host who went out of her way to ensure our stay was both pleasant and seamless. The cottage was perfect for an overnight stay with our small dog, with touches that made it feel so homely. It is walking distance to the nearby main street which made dinner and breakfast really convenient.
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (9/5): We enjoyed the cosiness and facilities of this place. - I liked the privacy of this retreat and the fire pit was great. The facilities are quite new too. Perhaps an area or cupboard to hang up clothes.
- Lina (10/5): A Beautiful Hidden Gem - Every aspect of my trip was exceptional, location incredibly charming, beautiful lush garden space to enjoy with the birdlife, the bed was sensational and the little touches topped it.
Vanessa the host was just lovely. She ensures you have everything you need, greets you and is available for help if needed. She has created a special place to rest.
I will certainly be back There was not a single thing I did not like
- Sullivan (10/5): Perfect escape, gorgeous cottage, tranquil surrounds, superb host. - It was beautifully styled, very comfortable, quietly positioned, surrounded by trees and birdlife. The host, Vanessa, was wonderful, kind, helpful and very knowledgeable about the local area. Our departure… we didn’t want to leave.
- Shaan (10/5): A Cozy Little Cabin - The entire stay exceeded our expectations, from the host to the cabin, it's hard to think of anything negative about it but if I had to nitpick, on a hot summer day, it might be difficult with the small fan provided.
- Hamish (10/5): Exceptional -
