- Catherine (10/5): Lovely stay! - Good access to all Telford has to offer, only 15 mins from Ironbridge.
Very well equipped kitchen, log burner and streaming TV Nothing, it was great
- John (6/5): Good but could be better - Good communication by the owner.
Good location for us/clean and tidy.
New kitchen.
Quirky cottage property.
Able to park outside. Heating pipes kept us awake all 4 nights and we were unable to regulate the heating ourself.
(expansion & contraction noise)
Nail sticking up from floor near bathroom.
Upstairs floorboards (no carpet) wide gaps between floorboards.
Needs a radiator in living room.

After you buy the house, he makes you pay a deposit of 400 to move in and comes to you every day at 8 o'clock. He kicked me out and I didn't argue because he didn't want to give me my deposit back. - Sheenagh (9/5): charming cottage, helpful hosts - Excellent location near small supermarket, Chinese takeaway, pubs and a 20 min walk to rail station, nice safe area. Beautiful cottage full of interesting decorations. Kitchen well equipped, whole house very clean. Excellent hosts who immediately answered queries and even turned up at 8.30 pm to help when there was a problem. We had a problem turning the key in the front door to get in and out, but I'm sure the hosts will have sorted this out already. They rushed over to help us as soon as we phoned, thank you to Mandi and Rob!
- Sheena (10/5): Lovely Cottage with a Wonderful Host - My husband and I stayed at Rose Cottage in Telford for 10 nights and had a wonderful stay. The cottage is cosy, spacious, and well maintained — it felt like a home away from home. The location is peaceful yet convenient. Mandy, the owner, was absolutely lovely — very kind and attentive. We would happily recommend Rose Cottage to anyone visiting Telford. There’s really nothing to dislike; everything was comfortable and well-maintained.
- Cristina (10/5): The host is a wonderful person, very polite and very friendly. A perfect 10 for her. Amazing! ♥️ - Look, this house is wonderful. It brought back memories of my childhood, memories of people who are very dear to me.
It reminded me a lot of my past. It’s very cozy, very beautiful, very welcoming — a place where you truly feel at home.

- vanessa (10/5): - Lovely Home from Home, host is very welcoming will stay again
- Mark (10/5): Great location comfortable stay - I was working in Telford and the location was great. Very central. Rob contacted me before I arrived with check in details. Parking was on the street but directly outside. I appreciated the coffee and the cake he had left me! The cottage is comfy and warm. I slept very well. The mattress was great and the shower was powerful and water boiling hot. I am planing a trip with my other half and will definitely stay here again! Can highly recommend!
- Sam (1/5): Shocking - The heating was off until about 7 so the house was freezing when we arrived TV was not working shower was leaking on the oven we told the host who blamed us for leaving the shower curtain out of the bath so I had to take a video to prove that the water was coming from the waste under the bath then we send the video to them they said some one will come and sort the problems we arrived back on the Wednesday again to a freezing house paper work on the side how to sort the Tv went to the shower no hot water rang the host no answer so we packed up our bags and booked another hotel when we arrived at our new location we got a message from the host saying can we pop round and see if we can sort the problems at 1900hrs this is by the worst place we have stayed my but I think booking.com should take of there site
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gareth (7/5): Good stay Rob was a very helpful and friendly host - Neat and quaint
- Manny (7/5): Nice English style cottage. - Location and very nice English style cottage. Free street parking. Good kitchen. Fast internet and good wifi coverage throughout house.
- Catalina (1/5): I do not recommend this house full of bugs and mice to anyone 😞😞 - very rude staff. the house does not look like the pictures. a lot of mess in the house with a bad smell everywhere in the house, noisy with mice inside and a lot of cockroaches. I don't wish anyone a vacation like mine in this house when the owner came and I explained the problems we were having. she said looking at me racist. to get out of his house like this the country is called uk and like this are the conditions that are . and that I can leave the house and never come back
- Fabien (9/5): Superb -
- Beverlea (8/5): Warm and comfortable. Perfect if visiting the Internationsl conference centre . Very easy to get to - Location brilliant. In better weather I would imagine secluded garden is lovely. Everything you need for your stay. Central heating made it warm and comfortable in February. Stairs are steep and bare wood . Might be a problem for those with reduced mobility. Otherwise all good
- Valiumfog (7/5): Lovely, homely and cosy - Pretty much everything The oven could be a little better but all the other stuff in the kitchen worked perfectly
- Annemarie (10/5): Cosy Rose cottage - Clean, cosy with everything we needed. Very close to the events centre. Great quite street away from the crowd just what we need after a full day's work at the Comiccon event.
There was a lovely Lemon drizzle cake waiting for us on arrival which we enjoyed with a lovely cup of tea and logs to get the fire going, which took the chill off nicely. Upstairs was cosy and warm all night.
The owners are lovely and very helpful. Our stay was very reasonably priced for 3 nights. This is our second stay this year and we will be returning again next year.
Thank you for your hospitality we look forward to our next visit.
Kindest regards
Rie and Gemma

- Adam (7/5): Good - Wifi did not work
- Chloe-marie (10/5): 5* excellent cute & cosy cottage! - We had an excellent stay at this super cute & cosy cottage, and hosts were very helpful! Lovely wood burning fire & homemade cake as a welcome gift were nice extras (& hosts gave us wood & firelighters). Spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable with new mattresses, huge bathroom with a lovely bath, well stocked kitchen, and had no wifi issues at all. Great location for exploring the area, and the pub at the end of the road was very convenient! Will definitely be back to stay when visiting family in the area. Thanks for a lovely stay! Nothing
- Leslie (5/5): Sorry below expected standard - Location to work Sofa bed was not in a fit state not been cleaned under the cover . Crumbs and dust everywhere. The host was not helpful with her answer just saying the cleaners would not of missed it and we could leave if we wanted . It was only when a gentleman called saw the settee apologised and physically cleaned it for us . No tv in the property this day and age something you take for granted . All in all disappointing and won’t use again and we are in the area for 2 months
- Harold (1/5): Let down ripped off booking.com should inspect - Where. To start. FALSE DESCRIPTION only half house in state of renovation. Current renovations very amateurish. Not enough self catering kitchen plates cookware utensils. Some broken and dirty. Drawers and cupboards contain left over oddments
No WiFi. No advertised washing machine. Stairs steep and floor coverings removed on stairs and bedroom and hallway. Large holes in floor boards. Several spiders dwelling underneath. Refrigerator door shelves missing. Cooker electric start not working. Back terrace too deep steps. No clothes line or airer. No TV.....No Radio
Just to top it off. COTTAGE HAS NOW BEEN RENAMED !!!!! HEMMINGWAY COTTAGE. So difficult to find !!!!!
- Becky (5/5): Passable - In a good location for going where we needed to, welcoming pub at the bottom of the street. The decor was very dated, the couch wasn’t comfy and the beds were awful. No TV but luckily I had taken my laptop so could stream. Plates and cookware were dirty on arrival.
- Tomasz (6/5): Host is great. Property has potential, but is dated. Not a comfortable nights sleep. - Friendly Host's, quick to respond, although there was some initial confusion with our arrival date. Mattresses NEED REPLACING ASAP!
WIFI kept cutting out every 10-45 minutes.
- Jody (10/5): A wonderful, quiet & relaxing place to stay - Would definatley recommend. - We enjoyed a lovely 5 days at this very cosy cottage in Telford.
The accommodation was easy to find, the entrance procedure very simple and the cottage was very clean and tidy on arrival (and hopefully after we left).
We took a number of things we thought we might need such as tea & coffee, kitchen roll, cooking oil, condiments etc, but most of what we took wasn't needed as it was already supplied.
It is like a little time capsule once inside, as the decor & furniture are very quaint - This is meant as a compliment & definately not a criticism.
The locatoin is a quick 5 minute drive from an excellent local retail park (Sainsbury's, Boots, TK Maxx etc.) and another few minutes onwards to the centre of telford itself. Despite being so close to these amenities the location is blisfully quiet.
There are good restaurants & takeaways within a few minutes walking distance, most notably the local Indian, Raj's Cuisine, which is quite probably some of the best Indian food I've eaten, and I've been to India 3 times!
All in all I highly recommend Rose Cottage to anyone, and will cretainly be looking to return when I next visit the telford area. Nothing I can think of that I didn't like.
Some previous guests had left comments in the guest book that the wifi is a bit tempremental, but it didn't really bother us.
- Emily (6/5): Great location, property needs some love - Location was great for exploring the local area. Plenty of parking and a nice garden to relax in when the weather allowed. Bedding and towels were clean. A little unloved, with lots of cobwebs and dusty knick-knacks, a pungent smell of engine oil in the kitchen and lots of little leftovers from what I assume were previous guests (vodka and anal lube anyone?). Uncarpeted hall, bedroom and stairs which would be fine, but there are a couple of nasty nails protruding especially in the doorway of one bedroom. Bed side lights in one side of the beds were too far from the plugs to actually be plugged in. Mattresses were okay but past their best. Clearly an issue with moths with Rentokil papers and packets everywhere. And not to mention still no plug for the kitchen sink (see previous reviews)!
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Isabel (6/5): this was a quaint cottage and very clean just a few teething problems . owner helpful on the phone - quaint and clean and quirky . owner very nice when contacted handrail broken and elderly mother stressed going up and down stairs . No plug in kitchen and no dishwasher tablet to wash up with .
- Annemarie (10/5): Cute little pad. - Great location easy to get to. Quiet and comfy.
- Karen (10/5): Cosy little cottage - This is a lovely little property, very conveniently located for Ironbridge and also Harper Adams Uni. We stopped over to visit Harper Adams for an applicant day and decided to stay on for a few more days to see the area. The cottage was cosy and the wood burner was an added bonus. Thanks to the owners Rob and Mandy who quickly sorted out a little problem we had during our stay. They even brought us extra wood for the log burner.😁
- Michael (3/5): Poor - the boiler was not working on the first night, once working it took ages to warm up. No TV's in any room. Host wasnt very helpful
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous house and location, fantastic communication throughout, very helpful. Would recommend 100%.
