Guest Reviews
- graham and patricia (8/5): Lovely house with fabulous views. - The views were fabulous and location. The owners very helpful.. The stairs were very steep and small. Extra care required.
- Charlotte (8/5): - Fabulous location
- Steve (10/5): - Excellent location All ok
- helen (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Great location, lots of room, Georgina was great!

- Stephen (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend. The views are beautiful and the house is large enough to accomm - The house was very clean. Plenty of seating for the 7 of us staying there. The house was large enough for us. Plenty of parking. We brought 3 cars with us but could have had more. We were also provided a tower fan for each bedroom. The garden wasn’t enclosed for our dog. So we had to place garden chairs carefully to stop her going into the communal garden which led to a road and on the other side to stop her escaping into the car park area. Would have felt happier with gates either side. The stairs in the property are very steep so be aware if that. We managed. Stair gate provided was broken and didn’t fit at the stairs to stop dog getting up there. Also wouldn’t stop small children going up and down. I suggest perhaps a permanent fixture for safety.

- Karen (8/5): Thornbridge Brewery trip - Lovely old property near centre of Bakewell which was decorated inside to a high standard . Four good size bedrooms, with one on suite and another large bathroom. Large conservatory which was nice to sit in in the evenings . Small garden but had lovely views and plenty of outside seating. Large ,well equipped kitchen with large oven .
Lady who met us at property was very welcoming and helpful.
Thornbrige Brewery in Bakewell is well worth a visit . Only a few things that needed attention .
Larger bedroom on first floor the curtain rail was loose and needs attention . Toilet roll holder in en suite loose .
En suite, the shower hadn't been cleaned properly and some of outside areas needed sweeping as were cigarette ends discarded .
Baking trays needed in kitchen .
- Sara (9/5): Lovely property with stunning views a short, steep walk from Bakewell centre. - Stunning location and a lovely property for a large family group or friends. Host was friendly and helpful. We were able to cook meals for our large group in the well equipped kitchen. Plenty of private parking, although it might be quite tight to get a large SUV down the lane leading to the car park. Good walking access to Bakewell itself, although the hill is quite steep for those not so physically able. We visited on a particularly warm weekend and the attic bedrooms were hot, even with the windows open through the night. Maybe fans could be provided for those rooms during the summer months. Apart from that everything was wonderful!
- Hannah (10/5): Wonderful house in a great location - Hooks in the bathroom would’ve been useful for hanging towels on.
A single quilt in the cover, rather than a double folder in half - very hot and heavy for sleeping.
- Anwar (10/5): Excellent property with everything you need -
- Claire (10/5): Lovely stay at Bagshaw Mews - We had a great stay at Bagshaw Mews. The location of the house was excellent and within walking distance of many shops and pubs. The accommodation was nicely decorated, clean and well equipped. The owner was very accommodating and allowed us to check in early. It was a very hot weekend, and the rooms on the top floor did get quite warm
- Lindsay (4/5): Try another place if possible. A bit of a last resort for the money. - Bright, clean and roomy. Steep stairs, broken toilet, toaster fuses the lights. Oven not working. Not much help or info in the house file. No toiletries. No real welcome pack. Odd placement of light switches. The furniture in the main room is old, very low and needs updating. Very unimpressive all round. At the top of a pretty steep hill.
- Andy (8/5): Very good - Had a great time at Bagshaw Mews. There were 7 of us and we enjoyed eating round the big table in the conservatory, drinking in the lounge.
Beds comfy, one loo had some flushing issues
Parking very good
Would definitely come here again
- Claire (8/5): Very relaxing - Great location Could of been better communication about arrival and departure times
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): Superb - Old mixes with modern. Spacious rooms. Very comfortable. Everything there that you need.
Would definitely return . Stairs quite steep to 1st and 2nd floors so wouldn't suit everyone.
- Helen (10/5): Lovely location and property for meet up with friends - Spacious warm and comfortable Nothing
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - House was really well equipped, nice and clean access to car park if you have a large car a bit precarious
- Caroline (10/5): What a beautiful house . Fully equipped with everything we needed for a weekend away . The view is w - Only thing is the stairs but not a lot anyone can do about that .
- Jayne (8/5): We will be back! - It was clean, comfortable and a great location. Steep stairs took a bit of getting used to but they were typical of that type of property
- Peter (10/5): Great house. Very clean cosy and spacious for a group. Perfect for weekend away -
- Bev (7/5): Good - Location and views, decor, number of bedrooms, parking, well equipped kitchen Garden view spoilt by overgrown hedge/weeds and plastic flowers in pots next to seating area
Unprofessional, tatty and poor guest information booklet
No warning in house description when booking of number of trip hazards internally on ground and first floor/steep steps to first floor and narrow staircase to top floor - not suitable for elderly or young children.
Loose patio stones in outside seating area.
One small bar of soap does not equate to 'toiletries provided'
- Paul (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay - Everything was really good, Waste disposal was very poor there was three carry bags under sink for 8 people for recycling , and one plastic bin outside which was full from the beginning
- Alison (8/5): Very good stay but those on the top floor found the stairs potentially a bit dangerous. - Very comfortable. Clean. Good location The stairs were very steep in particular to the top floor. One bedroom was a very small double room. Fortunately we had only 7 people and so just one person used that room.
- Geoff (6/5): Good value if your fit and able - Good value, v clean, well located, comfortable beds, good bathrooms Stairs to top two bedrooms are only for the nimble and sure footed, dining area in conservatory, fine in summer, vehicle access to parking right , house overlooks Bakewell so good views steep climb home
- Rosemary (9/5): Excellent base for 8 adults wanting to explore Bakewell and beyond - Views were amazing - sitting on the terrace to eat breakfast with the birds singing and looking at the views was magical. Kitchen was well equipped. Comfy lounge and additional snug for anyone wanting to be alone. Huge dining table in conservatory made for a lovely sociable eating space. Parking for 4 cars was really convenient for us. Fridge was small for 8 adults staying 4 nights as we did. ‘Free Toiletries provided’ consisted of a small bar of soap in each bathroom!
- Andy (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, great view's, excellent private car park for up to 4 vehicle's Stairs very steep for young or old people
- Julie (10/5): Lynda was a great host and very accommodating. - Set on the top of Bakewell with a stunning view. It was spacious, warm and welcoming. Nothing at all.
