Guest Reviews
- Sean Duggan (7/5): - Room, location and service for the breakfast Initial lack of service in reception upon our arrival. A young lad who was newish to the job had to come from the bar area to help us and was guided through the check in process by a colleague via telephone. So, we got there in the end thanks to you the young lad but no thanks to the actual reception team who were conspicuous by their absence.

- charles (9/5): Perfect - Nicely placed for our Traws Eryri trip
- Jacqui (9/5): Excellent accommodation with friendly staff - Friendly staff , convenient location , lovely village Nothing
- Gene (7/5): Nice Hotel, looking tired though. - The bedroom was very spacious and lovely and warm. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of tea coffee making facilities with biscuits. Nice size tv. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the waitress was so nice and knowledgeable about the areas we wished to visit. Easy parking at the rear of the property. Easy check in and out. The room was looking very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment and who ever hung the wallpaper needs another trade,, Who goes around corners in one drop. Shocking.

- natasha (10/5): Perfect place to stay when exploring snowdonia - Very well presented property, decor and ambience is well thought out and maintained, staff are all friendly and welcoming, bedroom was well set out and comfortable, best shower of my life after a day in the mountains Packed lunch was over priced, but I will pay it again to take all the hassle out of looking for something locally
- Anthony (8/5): Good hotel, great bed - Central location and great bed A little pricey I felt

- seniorita (8/5): - The location is great and the rooms are comfortable. The area of the hotel is pleasant, there are some walking paths to enjoy, and it isn't far to drive up to hike mountains. It was my second time booking with this hotel. In the late evening there isn't any place to have some food. There isn't always a parkin spot available on site. Unfortunately our room's rubbish bins were filled with rubbish after the previous guest. The rooms seemed clean, but clearly staff forgotten to empty the bins.
- Samantha (4/5): - Location and very stylish restaurant and bar area Bed was very uncomfortable, noisy people in other rooms, fan noise all night from kitchen very bad sleep. No staff interaction at all all digital check in and check out.
- Marti (7/5): Lovely hotel but not worth the money - The property was lovely and clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming The bedroom was very small with a view of the car park, the food was overpriced for what we received
- Simone (10/5): -
- Clara (10/5): Tutto perfetto e rilassante - Tutto perfetto. Posizione ottima per escursioni che partono dal centro del paese.
- Jack (3/5): - Nice location and clean Bed very uncomfortable and quite dated. Noisy
- Amanda (9/5): -
- Mohammed Ali (5/5): -
- Justin (10/5): Great location, lovely staff and clean rooms. Thoroughly recommended. - Staff were great - very friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely - clean and well kept. The restaurant and bar were cosy and plenty of space to sit and relax before having an evening meal in the fantastically designed main restaurant. We didn't have breakfast as we were away early the next morning. There were multiple car charging points in the car park. Nothing, we were very happy with the hotel.
- Glenn (8/5): -
- Luke (8/5): - Simple check in and ease of access. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was great! Stairs up to the room were a bit difficult as there was no lift and we had a bit of luggage.
- Hydranger (8/5): Great location, comfy room. - Comfortable room with a large double.
Decent bathroom with a powerful shower.
Excellent breakfast with attentive service.
Good value room for location in Betwys centre. Evening food and bar service was mediocre at best and would probably go elsewhere next time but Breakfast service was faultless.
- Rebecca (9/5): - Perfect location. Nice staff. Quiet room. The prank fire alarm in the middle of the night. I hope the culprits were fined.
- Craig (7/5): -
- Claire (7/5): - The location The beds were so uncomfortable and hard, the springs you can feel in the matress & it was indented like it hadnt been changed for a while. Worst nights sleep i had to be honest.
The meal on the evening took 1 hour for starters to get to the table and we didnt order dessert as it was nearly closing by the time we had finished. Staff were really slow.
- Charlotte (10/5): Fabulously located, very dog friendly and superb staff. A real gem. - Fabulously located and very dog friendly. Big rooms with all amenities and super friendly staff. A real gem.
- Mohammed Ali (7/5): Pleasant stay but lack of sufficient car parking did create an issue for us. - Location is good. Not enough car parking compared to the volume of rooms. This is a real problem if you have young kids.
- Michael (9/5): -
- Helen (7/5): Good but could have been so much better: - Good location Very noisy in bar. Not enough staff. One person behind bar to serve all customers - food and drink. Long queues.
It has been refurbished but not to a very high standard.
Had to order food at bar - no waiter service.
Visited reception three times - nobody there each time. Had to ring bell - someone came on third visit but after about a five minute wait.
Could be a really good hotel but think they are very understaffed. The reality does not match the hotel advertising.
Everyone very friendly though.
- Carol (8/5): - i loved the location There was no reception staff on arrival/ Bar staff were covering.
There was no phone in the bedroom to contact reception and there was no one at reception except in the morning as we left.
- Wayne (10/5): -
- Aino (10/5): -
- Daniel (7/5): -
- Sara (7/5): Great location - In lovely Betws-y-Coed. Great location and good to have car parking on site. A bit dated in room decor and facilities. The menu could be better, seems a little outdated and pricey for what it is.
- Elena (8/5): In general it was a very good stay, thank you! - The interior was good- high ceillings, big windows and it's spacious. There was a bit of mould in our bedroom and then there was a man who was cleaning the windows while they were open and we were inside the room so all went wet and we thought that this was a bit incosiderate.
- Jones (10/5): - Everything
- Chris (7/5): Nice place , be careful of there billing arrangements - Nice hotel There billing for food things added to the invoice eg 2extra breakfast that were not ordered, check your bill carefully when leaving
- Heziel (10/5): I had a comfortable stay, i wish to go back someday - The cleanliness Nothing
- Tessa (10/5): -
- Judy (4/5): Not a great hotel, and certainly not as described by Booking.com. - Central to the village. The stairs where not hoovered whilst we were there, our room was not cleaned, until the second day and only after we had found the chamber maid and said our room had not been serviced, the first morning, we had no replenished milk sachets, biscuits or made up beds., until 6.30pm that day. I found a piece of broken glass on the landing and told the then appeared chamber maid. “Did we want our room done”. We of course said “Yes”, and added “We have no milk sachets or biscuits and that we had gone out for coffee and biscuits,to the cafe over the road”. I did mention this to the young fellow at the bar in the lounge, the night before but had no joy. When we were leaving the hotel, we were asked was everything o.k., and were told we should have asked at the bar for milk for our coffee, but we had and had no joy. Your rooms are not cheap for the night and we expected better than this.
- Luke (3/5): Disappointed - Location and bar area great. Shower powerful Mattress was shot, sagged in the middle and needs replacing. Fan in room broken. Instant coffee below par for price. Mould growth and damp smell in bathroom. Light from hallway enters room around edge of door. Shower does not get very hot. Didn’t opt for breakfast as £17 charge is as much as an evening meal
- Waldemar (10/5): - All good All was good
- Alice (10/5): -
- ridout (9/5): Aqequate - Location good and room clean and quiet Room not ready on arrival - told two members of staff off sick short notice came back an hour later and room still not ready. It would have been good customer service to office us a coffee.
Second night we were planning to eat at restaurant but no staff around in restaurant or bar - waited at least 10 minutes and then left.
Most staff were OK but seemed rather stressed out.
- Laura (7/5): Nice hotel - Lovely building, more modern than I expected. Good location and helpful staff. Rooms all upstairs and for us with a buggy it was a little difficult. Maybe there was a lift but we were only there for one night and weren’t guided to one
- Leslie (10/5): -
- Sikin55 (10/5): - Everything
- Nataniel (9/5): -
- Darren (9/5): -
- Megan (7/5): -
- Douglas (10/5): Lovely hotel that was the highlight of our trip - Very polished with clean rooms and shared areas. Attractive decor and the restaurant in particular was well presented. So good that we are hoping to return in the autumn.
- Adrian (8/5): - Free parking . Good clean rooms . Food and drink a tad expensive
- Susan (9/5): - Very comfortable room, good food, great location and a reasonable price!
- Annmarie (8/5): - Excellent location
Breakfast very nice Could have been cleaner
Drinks in bar very expensive
- Adam (8/5): Lovely family stay - The location, the bar and restaurant and the staff. Paying for breakfast which I thought would have blown my socks off and didn’t.
- Ben (9/5): - Hotel and location.
- mark (10/5): The business - The whole experience Nothing
- Lawrence (7/5): -
- Zeynep (10/5): Great value for the cost - Everything. Clean, central, nice, good staff Heating was not working well
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely stay and we will be back for a third visit very soon. - Fantastic location and the hotel was lovely. Bathroom was clean and looked newly refurbished and staff friendly and attentive. We felt £16.99. was a bit steep for breakfast so ended up going elsewhere. This was a little disappointing as we had elderly relatives who didn't really want a big breakfast so we couldn't justify spending over £65 on a bowl of cereal.
- Jeremy (9/5): Excellent - Perfect location on the Traws Eryri cycling route. Ideal for walks and local amenities yet clear of external noise. Excellent food. Breakfast particularly accommodating to any combination.
Secure bicycle storage indoors! Nothing
- Georgia (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): -
- Nigel Soens (9/5): - Great Hotel right in the centre of the town. The stall was very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and spacious. Great breakfast options and service. I will definitely be back.
- Anthony (9/5): Loved it. I will definitely use this hotel again when visiting this area. - Staff were great, room was clean and functional, location perfect More parking spaces
- sarah (8/5): Had a lovely stay - Great location, nice decor Staff around a bit more
- Karolinakar (8/5): Great location, food needs improvement - Great location and friendly staff. I booked two deluxe rooms, one was noticeably larger with a bigger bed, while the other was smaller. The staff explained that both are still classified as deluxe, which is worth knowing when booking.
The food was quite disappointing and could definitely be improved.
- Kevin (7/5): -
- Priestman (10/5): -
- Dave (8/5): - Great location & modern comfortable rooms Bar is expensive
£7.90 for a pint of Guinness
- Rakith (9/5): Nice location - Location Not enough parking space
- Priestman (10/5): - Lovely helpful staff and comfortable room Very small and cramped parking at hotel. No options given for alternative parking before arrival.
I paid £8 in a long stay that said I couldn't park overnight so I moved my car to the main road.
- Laura (8/5): -
- JANET (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): -
- Liam (8/5): -
- Jake (10/5): Well ran hotel! - Very good location and very well looked after.. would 100% recommend N/A
- Clifford (10/5): -
- Jill (8/5): nice hotel in good location with good staff - staff very good- especially Alun, who went out of his way to be helpful The room wasn't cleaned one day which was disappointing as we liked everything else, the car park is also small but there is plenty of on street parking behind the hotel. we had dinner on one night which was very good.
- Nadine (10/5): - The staff were friendly.
- Wojciech (10/5): -
- Ammi (7/5): Comfortable stay. - Loved the location, the family rooms, easy check-in and out. Parking. Nice comfortable rooms. The carpet looks a bit dirty in the corridors but the rooms were clean and tidy. I would have rated it higher if they had cleaned the room and made the beds during our stay. That is what disappointed us the most about our stay here.
- Jasmine (6/5): - Lovely spacious room and great location No towels or toilet roll in the room. Stairs and hallway carpet needed hoovering
- mark (10/5): - Great location. Food in the restaurant was very nice. Good sized room and decent shower. Parking
- Andrew (10/5): Great value, great service and very friendly. - A beautiful hotel conveniently situated in the centre of Betws-y-Coed. Check in was easy and the members of staff on reception couldn’t have been more helpful, in fact all of the staff we met really went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. The bedroom was well laid out and comfortable, we had a family room ghat had a full sized double and single bed which was perfect for our needs and still had plenty of room. Car parking was simple and free, but come early to guarantee a space! There wasn’t anything to dislike and the value for money was outstanding.
- Natalie (10/5): A comfortable, cosy and welcoming stay. - A very welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. There is enough variation on the menus in the bar and restaurant.
- Darren (5/5): Great location and modern interior, unfortunately more focus was put into the aesthetics and not enough on the customer - Very modern decor and clean, lots of attention has been made to the interior. 3 electric chargers all had NON-electric cars parked in the spaces so I couldn’t charge my car.
Only 2 tea bags and coffee in the room, not enough for the evening and morning and cheap biscuits.
Tiny bottle of shampoo and a tiny bottle of bath/shower gel, not enough for two people.
- Kevin Fang (3/5): this is a uncomfortable hotel - the drain didnot work, toilet paper with bad quality, no lift and need to bring big suitcase upstairs and downstairs, the sound insulation of the room is very poor. its location is only advantage
- Joanne (8/5): - A little road noise, we were warned. NA
- Deividas (1/5): Hotel cancelled an hour before arrival - Entrance The rest.
An hour away from the hotel 4 hours into the drive there they called and said we don't have the room anymore due to water damage. Call was 16:30, check in time is from 15:00, not sure how that would have worked if we got there an hour earlier. Asked us to request the refund on booking, and they'll refund us and they've arranged an accommodation next door for us, come in and then they'll point us where to go. Got to Gwydyr, person at reception didn't know anything about it, asked someone, then got told that they've contacted the hotel next door and for us to go there. Went next door, they didn't know anything about it, no one contacted them. Price was double from what we were going to pay at Gwydyr. Went back to Gwydyr, different receptionist came, he didn't know anything about it either, but was helpful in finding us another hotel, and got a discount for us for the trouble. Not what you want after 5hour drive and having accommodation arranged weeks ago, just before turning up, find out that you got nowhere to stay, and hotel doesn't really care.
- Amanda (9/5): Perfect stay - The property was well maintained and inside was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious There wasn’t anything I didn’t like
- Clare (5/5): Great location, otherwise mediocre - Great central location On first look, this appears like a clean and modern hotel, however beyond the first impression the hotel was quite tired, with bare nails in the carpet and the single room smelled musty. Very few staff around. Bar incredibly expensive for drinks.
