Guest Reviews
- Rachel (10/5): Perfect place for our large family get together - The layout of the house and the two kitchens meant there was plenty of room for the whole family, including 3 small children, without being under each others feet. Gorgeous surroundings too
- Diane (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - It was a gorgeous house with loads of space in a beautiful quiet area. Had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

- Amir (10/5): We went group of 10 and had amazing 3 night stay and was great - The property very clean and big enough space for everyone up to 14 There was a sheep on the side and smell come to inside a lot and there was no hot tub when I booked was showing there was one but when we got there there was not any a part of that lovely place to stay

- Bruton (10/5): Perfect for a Christmas get together - What a fantastic property! Perfect for a large multi generational Christmas get together. We had enough space to be on our own and be social when we felt like it. It’s set is beautiful surroundings and isn’t too far from civilisation when wanted.
The property was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we were left a very much appreciated welcome basket with treats for us all. I can’t recommend this property enough! All I can say is WOW! 😊 Nothing! It was perfect 👌
- Jeff (10/5): Perfect venue for large family gathering - Stayed for a long weekend for a birthday celebration with a family group of 9 adults and 5 children under 10 years. The house is modernised and in good condition. The configuration of the bedrooms was perfect for us, and the large amount of living space in the house was ideal. A nice touch was the Welcome Pack which included bread, milk, butter, eggs and cake. Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley, Pickering, Dalby Forest, Malton and Castle Howard are all easily accessible by car. We would definitely return. N/a
- Hannah (10/5): A comfortable weekend spent in a beautiful and peaceful setting - We loved the garden for playing with the kids. The games room was a great addition but more for older kids.
- Michael (10/5): Great location and property for us as a family to relax and enjoy - Property was a great size for our party and had everything we needed 👍 Garden was excellent for the children
- Raja (8/5): Enjoyable but some improvement needed - Spacious, nice decorations, enough space for car park, enough cutlery and crockery, nice garden and nice view. Well located and easy accessible to sites. Bathroom should have locks, only 1 out of 4 toilets have locks.
No mirrors in most rooms.
No hanging hooks in toilets.
Bedrooms beds are very creaky.
Pool table dirty and run down.
Darts completely broken
Table tennis table broken
Beer cans on the table tennis table when arrived and bin full of cans of beer in pool table room.
Outhouse full of smelly bins and trash.
Ground floor toilet flush system was not working properly.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Erica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirstie (8/5): Great family weekend - How big it was. Outside too was great. The games room being cold and no darts and old dart board. The ping pong table was very wonky and the pool table was tiny. All needs updated and heated.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): What a beautiful place! - What a beautiful place!
We spent new year here as a family and thoroughly enjoyed this spacious, clean and comfy property. Beautiful surroundings and gardens made for an idealic time away. Would highly recommend. Everything was brilliant
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional! - Amazing property in a beautiful location. Special mention to Debbie for her communication - definitely had a giggle! Very creaky beds!
- Mary-kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): Great weekend at a beautiful house - Layout and the size
Management company very helpfull with the small issue Property needed more glasses and out furniture needed updating
- Michelle (10/5): Wonderful stay with the family…. Perfect for a family gathering, plenty of space for everyone in a beautiful countryside - Everything! Beds were all really creaky!
- Waldron (10/5): Family of 9 stay for 3 days. - The house was much larger than the pictures shown, a beautiful clean place with plenty if room to spread out if not want to always be together. Games room proved ideal when the rain hit Sunday morning, then the hot tub was lovely when the sun came out later. All facilities easy to use and were perfect for our group. Beds comfortable and bedrooms a plenty for us all. Recommend for anyone with a large group wanting a quiet country house to stay in. Nothing.
Only comment that was no tea towels so something to bear in mind when going and maybe update the dartboard but other than that perfection.
- Amy (7/5): Good - Lovely house lots of room, however we had no hot water the whole weekend. The fact we had absolutely no hot water all weekend
- Clare (1/5): Very disappointing - Spacious property in remote location
Beautiful views House was extremely dusty in all rooms with massive cob webs that had been there for weeks. Lots of dead flies. House did not receive a quick clean or dust before our arrival.
No heating or water switched on when arrived which for February it can get chilly. Had to call office to be told they didn’t switch on one of the thermostats as they have control of it.
The property had 2 showers one never had running hot water and the other had a broken bracket so unable to shower in that either only leaving baths which was not ideal for a house of 12 ladies on a hen do wanting to get ready for a night out.
Wi-Fi stopped working on the second day. By this time I had made about 4 phone to the management team and lost the will or had no confidence at all.
It’s a beautiful house and it was a real shame with things not working which are small maintenance jobs or replacing boilers so you can ensure working when up to 14 people need to use the bathrooms.
- Tracy (9/5): Gorgeous stay - Lovely big house
- Vince (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable lots of space Good local information Check in and out easy The over bath shower on floor 1 did not heat up
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Genuinely as good as the pictures make it look - The pictures on the website were accurate. It's was large, clean and in good condition. It was genuinely a great place to stay. In the country without being too far from a lot of things to visit. I really can't over emphasise what a nice house this was and how much space it had. All the bedrooms were a good size and well furnished. There were ten of us including two younger children and two teen-agers and we did not feel on top of each other. It even looks lovely when you drive up to it. There was nothing really worth mentioning wrong with it. I guess it could have done with a few more pans, but it had two fridge freezers and two full kitchens so there was lots of if room to cook.
- Charles (10/5): Lovely house perfect for big family get togthers -
- Sarah (10/5): wonderful! - We stayed at Salton Lodge for 2 nights, the location is lovely, all the way up in the howardian hills, there is soooo much space and plenty of bedrooms. The outside area is huge and loved that there was already a BBQ and fire pit there too. Beds were extremely comfortable and the house was kitted out with everything you needed the recycling bins were already full when we arrived but this wasn’t a major issue
