- Jeff (2/5): Disappointing Koel Cottage - A bed to sleep at night Due heavy rain before we stayed at Koel Cottage that is surrounded by overgrown trees which blocks out sunlight mosquitoes galore. Opening the front door to a cold damp cottage with a heavy musty odour from the mould and mildew throughout the cottage. Mould on front of bathroom vanity unit and toilet seat.Heavy stained mix and match furniture in cottage. We paid for 2 nights accommodation but 1 night was enough here. Worst place we have stayed in over 30 years of travelling together. Let real estate reality our disappointment when I dropped of cottage keys the next day. Place needs a total refresh to bring accommodation to an acceptable standard for holiday rental.

- Lorraine (8/5): Perfect for a budget-friendly family or group holiday, close to a stunning riverfront and beaches. - Cannot beat this location for value. Only a 5 minute walk from the sparkling river-front, with cafes and a local pub for great feeds. Only 5 minutes drive to the spectacular Bennetts Beach, and the family-friendly Jimmy's Beach. The house had everything we needed. Very much enjoyed the tree-filled, spacious backyard (pet-friendly a bonus!) and generous sized bbq, which was great for big cook-ups. We were happy for the simple tv and DVD collection provided, as we wanted a bit of a digital detox. The portable heaters did a great job at warming the house at night. The beds were comfy, and the room with bunk beds would be great for a bigger family to use. The kitchen was handy with a working oven and microwave, and it was stocked with everything we needed, but good to be aware that there is not a dishwasher. This house was perfectly cosy for a winter long weekend, with lots of long sunny walks on the beach and and along the river. We will definitely return in the warmer months!
