Guest Reviews
- Harding (8/5): Satisfactory. Served my needs. - Quiet location Entrance stairs a bit off putting. A bit cold. No parking.
- Shelley (10/5): - Lovely stay thank you 🤩 great property and location

- gordon (10/5): Great little Gem - We have stopped hear about couple of times. We have a caravan in challaborough bay and stop hear when the site is shut to do work on our van. The apartment is great . Everything you need nice and fashionable. Very clean Great location. We noted this before . I'm not good on my legs . You have to walk down an entry. It's very slippery and no light for the first id say 20M. It needs a light desperately. Not hard to do. Wifi isn't good but it does you. It's a lovely apartment and don't let my little moan turn you of . Thanks for a lovely break.
- Richard (10/5): - Good location, clean, easy to access, well furnished, had everything we needed. Shower not the most powerful but nit picking really
- mike (8/5): -
- katie (8/5): - Lovely, very clean flat. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is there. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed. Perfect location. Had a slight hiccup with the TV, but the owner was quick to sort the issue. A lovely space to spend a weekend.
- Kevin (8/5): -
- Mark (1/5): - Nothing Property was freezing and stank of cigarette smoke
- Helen (7/5): -

- Rich (9/5): Very enjoyable stay in a cozy ‘hideaway’. - A lovely cozy spotlessly clean space. In a great location. There are some improvements being made to the approach outside. When this is complete it will enhance the location.
- Matthew (9/5): A beautiful apartment in Modbury. We will be back! - Excellent central location, close to pubs, shops, a lovely charity shop and some resturants too. Ideal if you're looking for the countryside feeling whilst also being in a market town. Close to some wonderful beaches also. Massive bedroom, comfy bed and also comfy living area with big tv for cosy nights in! Parking is an issue. However this is not the fault of anyone as its an apartment. Plenty of parking available in Modbury however you may end up at the top of the hill to park!
- Trevor (10/5): A lovely apartment and excellent host - Our host was very helpful and tried her best to resolve a small issue that I had. I can not complement her enough for the way she put herself out to make sure that we were happy. Thanks Nothing all was great
- Phil (7/5): - Central but quite location Small fridge was inadequate. Some areas of high dust, bathroom extractor, dining chairs, TV cabinet, skirtings, window ledges. Entrance area untidy and unwelcoming. Outside areas unloved and unwelcoming
- Lesley (10/5): Lovely property and very helpful owners, cannot recommend highly enough. - Great location, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Excellent communication from owners. Nothing. Had absolutely everything you could want.
- Trevor (9/5): what a lovely little apartment - the hideaway defiantly lived up to its name, it was located up a very small alleyway running right to the back of the property. the apartment was very nice, clean and well maintained, lots of mod cons and very quant, we had a 3 night stay and found the apartment very comfy and convenient for our needs as we were visiting our daughter, son in law and our granddaughter who live in Modbury. it was the perfect location. it would have been a 10 but we were unable to get the TV to work properly. we had to play around with 3 remote controls but could only manage to get I player no instant channels which was a disappointment as Wimbledon tennis was on and I would have liked to get to see the highlights on returning to the apartment in the evening
- Gater (8/5): really enjoyable, slight problem with the wi-fi TV as no instructions. - Ideal location Confusion initially with collecting the key, we went to the right of the pharmacy, same number door, the key was in the door, but it was a private flat. It could do with The Hideaway shown on the left of the pharmacy. The lady at the flat on the right of the pharmacy came to see us, and told us that this has happened before, and her children were nervous at us calling through the door.
- Emma (8/5): Lovely, clean apartment - Easy and fast communication. Clean apartment, comfy bed We couldn't get the shower to work.
- Deborah (8/5): Comfortable property and well located - Comfortable property. Kitchen is very small but well equipped, although the fridge was too small to chill my wine!
Very well located in main street but very quiet. Free parking was available on street not too far away.
Nice to be able to sit in the garden in the sun too. Unfortunately there was a mix up and the host was not expecting us but it was very quickly resolved. The property was a bit difficult to find, but if we had been expected we would have had clear instructions.
The property was very well equipped, just a couple of hooks in the bathroom would have been useful.
- Spencer (9/5): enjoyable . - plenty of space , comfortable, clean , Nice decor . Met mine and daughter s needs The seating area outside was a bit Messy . needed a sweep up as there was dirt and moss on the stone floor . Also view of garden over grown and messy .
- David (7/5): Not bad at all, a couple of small tweaks to make it good - Clean and bright Blackout blinds in bedroom too narrow to be functional
An outside light that activates on when sensing movement is needed at end of passage.
The power switch to the shower is too high.
- Steph (8/5): Very good -
- Gordon (10/5): Lovely little Gem - Loved the place . Very spacious. Nice and clean. Will definitely go back. Thanks for a nice break. Nothing
- Tuffs (5/5): Passable -
- Giles (8/5): Overall though it was convenient to where I wanted to be, and close to a co-op and a good pub, The Exeter, and I would b - It was spacious, clean, quiet and private. It is a very nice apartment but the access is via a dark, uneven alleyway. One very simple instruction on how to operate the shower (turn on the switch in corridor) would have been useful. TV did not seem to work (no terrestrial channels and instructions on how to use fire-stick would have been useful). The heating temperature could be set a bit higher; it was quite cold in there in the evenings.
- Yvonne (10/5): Very comfortable clean apartment. Lots of space!! -
- Natalie (9/5): Superb -
- Eleanor (9/5): Superb value, immaculately clean, great location -
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Leo (8/5): The Hideaway, worth a stay - It was a very nice apartment, clean and very spacious. Good bathroom, and the kitchen was nice, usable. Huge bedroom and comfy setting/dining room. The local town and it residents are lovely and friendly. It's was hard to find, (A sign would be good), and I thought the owner did gave good instructions to find it. It's was still a bit tricky to find. The ally way needs a better surface as it was a bit slippy on the cobbles by the entrance to the property.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Nice over night stay in modbury - Nice big bedroom
Good location
Clean and tidy
New and fresh Had to pay to park £10 for over night
Small fridge
Small shower
- Stephen (9/5): modern, spacious, quiet and convenient to local stores. - Well looked after. Some maintenance was being scheduled for passageway adding to the view that the property is being well looked after. The decor was pleasing and the facilities were more than adequate. Reasonably private being at the end of the passageway. There was no stopping at the front of the property to unload safely and conveniently. it was raining and the car had to be parked in a public park down a side street. Having to go back twice did get me quite wet. For the first night the passageway lights did not come on and it was dark, the ground uneven and stones slippery. We tripped up the step to the patio area in front of the entrance door. The lights came on for the second night but only illuminated to the end of the first part of the building, still leaving the patio area in darkness. The lounge was overcrowded: it had a 8-seater dining table and two 2-seater sofas, bu the property only caters for 2 people. Create more space by changing the table size and removing one of the sofas. Buying quick meals was a waste since there was no microwave to heat the products and the items could not be places in the oven with out first defrosting. The fridge was inconveniently small and did not have sufficient capacity to hold food for a couple of days. I would relocate the washing machine to the bottom of the entry stairs and put a bigger fridge in its place. The internet could not cope with live streaming, and had to keep buffering.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - The size of the flat you could stay there for a long week. The firestick doesn't work and needs battery's triple aaa if you want to take some with you.
- Chloe (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway! - Beautiful little place right in the middle Modbury. Great location. The place was beautifully decorated and very clean. Great value. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Nothing
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Leila (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorna (10/5): Lovely getaway! - Great location, lovely place. 15/20 minutes away from some great beaches. Na
- Phillipa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgina (9/5): Lovely stay - Great location and how was super helpful! There was no electricity in the property and I had to find the fuse box to turn everything back on … including the shower?!
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - The property is nicely decorated and very clean. The location is superb for our requirements. We couldn't get the TV to work
There was no tin opener in the kitchen.
also, no hairdryer. I discovered this after I'd had a shower and was searching everywhere with wet hair. I could have easily taken my own if I had known, but both were listed on the inventory.
The pillows on the bed could do with replacing and were not comfortable. Such a shame as the property is so nice. Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay.
- Debbie (9/5): Really impressed - Excellent location, clean, spacious and good value.
Very quiet and extremely comfy bed!!
- Cordelia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (8/5): Great - Quiet location. Nicely furnished Hot water supply in the taps was a bit limited.
- Jacqui (8/5): We had a wonderful stay and if we are in the area again we would not hesitate to stay there again 👍 - The whole apartment was lovely and very comfortable and relaxing and is a very good location The only downside for me; the fridge was too small for our needs
- Jayne (9/5): Superb - Nicely decorated and clean. Directions were clear. Local facilities were very good. Could benefit from a television or radio.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (10/5): Quiet village with traditional amenities on the door step. Property was well maintained. - Location great. Very quiet and peaceful. We catered for ourselves but co-op next door had fresh bakery every day.
Short drive to lovely beaches and walks, and Salcombe, beautiful harbour town.
- Edward (9/5): Superb - Jenny was particularly helpful and efficient. Excellent location for our purposes. Couldn't find a toaster but probably didn't look hard enough.
- Oliver (9/5): Very nice and economical surprise. Recommended. - Seemed like it was brand new. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was the first person who stayed there! Very very pleasant, done to a high quality with real thought and attention to detail. Feels like a proper little apartment with a usable kitchen and front room. Would make a pretty good base for a couple to enjoy the area on a budget, especially if they used the garden. 2 nice pubs in the village. Entrance hall and stairs not quite finished yet, and the alley access was a little strange (though not unpleasant). Part of the garden also like a work in progress. I think this will all come good and make for an extremely nice environment. It would be nice for a tv to be offered as this would make staying there even more of a little home. Village has no real restaurants (except pubs) which means it’s a lot quieter than Kingsbridge or Salcombe.
- Laura (10/5): Gorgeous little find x - Very clean modern and great location
- Tom (10/5): Brilliant location with fantastic facilities, very clean and an exceptional price. Highly recommend -
- A (8/5): Very good - The location is great and the furnishings and decor are really lovely. There is no TV despite the listing saying there is one. A microwave would be useful too.
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - clean and comfortable no microwave
- Dean (8/5): a very lovely place - very clean and tidy and has everything you need the pillows were too soft where a bit soft
