Guest Reviews
- Rob (10/5): -
- Penny (10/5): A perfect little cottage in a lovely location - Lovely furniture. Many little extras, lavender in a bag by the bed, bottled water in the fridge. Toiletries in the bathroom. Very tastefully decorated. Nothing
- William (7/5): Quiet, peaceful and relaxing - Great location, well appointed, quiet and good parking. Needs an information pack with some instructions for appliances such as electric hob and oven and advice on local shops pubs attractions etc. TV reception was very poor.
- Jack (9/5): Superb - lovely cottage in a great location in Formby. it had everything we needed.
- Despoina (9/5): Beautiful house and location. - There were all available amenities that a complete house would offer plus a bit of luxury you find in hotels. there was very good communication with the host and a very quite and comfortable location. Ther was nothing I didn't like. I would definitely book again. :)
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (9/5): Lovely stay, house very well maintained- we would definitely stay again - The extension to the cottage is really well done, with a big open area with heated floors and sky lights, the bathroom was really well done and this accommodation had all of the items needed for a short stay No dishwasher in kitchen, TVs hard to work out, back door doesn’t close properly
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Hilary (9/5): Fabulous. Thank you for sharing your lovely property. - Perfect location for us. So quiet but close to village. Lovely feel about the cottage and great to have off street parking. Nothing really but we are relocating up here so looking at properties. Aiming to come up again in January and wanted to book again but it is way more expensive than this trip so not sure we can which is a shame.
- Becky (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful house with so much attention to detail. Only a short walk to the station. Had everything you could need and was perfect for our short stay
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): Very enjoyable and comfortable, we would stay again and hope to be back soon. - Quiet location, very spacious, easy access to Formby and the train station. It had everything we needed.
- Fiona (10/5): Great - Spacious , well decorated and clean Nothing - one very small thing the front door lock needs attention
- Jeffrey (10/5): Golfing shirtt break - Absolutely fantastic find. Stunning accommodation. Ideally positioned ( we used it for golfing ). Would highly recommend and will certainly look to book this first if we are back to this area. 10 out of 10. Nothing
- Laura (10/5): Lovely, modern, clean cottage! - Loved modern, updated decor & facilities. Outdoor patio was great! Shower glass too small to contain water when using spray wand & tub might have leaked underneath. Need higher mirror in bathroom.
- Leslie (10/5): Great place in a great location - What a lovely property in an ideal location for exploring Merseyside. 10 minutes from a great pub, the railway, and the station. Very well laid out and equipped property. We had a great stay. Thanks very much

- Shirley (9/5): Relaxing - Clean, comfortable nicely decorated. The extension gave a good space for our group to relax in. There was teabags etc on arrival which added to the welcome after the drive there. On arrival one of the doors was stuck. However a call to the owner and the problem was immediately resolved. Great hosts.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolyn (10/5): A perfect stay. - Excellent location and facilities. Host checked by message that we had no issues. Perfect! Nothing was wrong with the property.
- Laura (10/5): Needed to stay in formby so any roof over our head would have been fine but this felt like a special treat! - Felt very luxurious. Nothing
- Paula (10/5): Absolutely excellent, loved the cottage and communication was excellent. - Everything was there, great communication from the host. Clean, tidy and we needed nothing. We had a power cut and no torches were provided but that is being picky. We had our phones.
- Kelly (10/5): Perfection - A Very comfortable lovely stay
- Joanne (7/5): Very enjoyable on the whole. - Clean throughout and had a lovely big bedroom. No dishwasher. No heating in extension other than underfloor which wasn’t enough to keep us warm.
- Eilidh (10/5): Fantastic - would definitely recommend. - Immaculately clean and spacious. Well equipped and very comfortable.
Very quiet neighbourhood. Good location for exploring the area. Nothing - it was great.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (10/5): Exceptional - The property is large, immaculate, 2 storey cottage with large backyard. Everything about Dora Cottage deserves superlatives. Nothing at all
- John (9/5): An enjoyable stay, on our way further north. - A very pleasant cottage and garden and we were blessed with good weather also. Our daughter cycled to see us from Liverpool and we had some nice walks and enjoyed the local cafes. It would be nice to see if the garden was about to have more planting in it, otherwise no other comments.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Northlondon (8/5): A lovely updated property - A lovely updated property done very well, hard to find anything wrong, Paul and team have done a very good job. You are close to the sation but - depending upon your pace - it is 20 to 25 minutes to the central part of Formby. It is very quiet area and the garden is a great place to relax. Great sized fridge. There were certain small points which would have added value to the visit. We have written to Paul separately on this (hope you got it Paul). No biggies but, for instance, we could not find a hair drier, a teapot would have been very good to have together with various other kitchen items. Also some form of instructions folder - I don't need big tech, just how to turn the oven on, what should be recycled, that sort of thing.
- Matthew (10/5): Excellent property and host -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional - I've bean a guest at many cottages but I never used their towels I take my own, but Dora was like snow white I couldn't resist, Dora cottage was spotless absolutely amazing alls I can say I will be going back to visit Dora Nothing abeautiful place be son and I we just lost my best friend Carl last November 25th I thought nothing could fix me but Dora did loved it so I've nothing to dislike
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Great location nice and peaceful, tastily decorated with everything we required for a relaxing weekend by the sea.
- Helen (10/5): Delightful Dora - Almost don't want to leave a glowing report as want to be able to use it again without being fully booked! Wished we had booked for a whole week. Home from home. Brilliant base for exploring local area. Quiet location. Off road parking for 1 car. An amazing renovation. Lovely touches like a small welcome hamper. Very tastefully furnished. Good quality towels and crockery etc. Stunning bathroom. Handy storage shelving/hanging unit in each bedroom. Paul, the host, very approachable and immediately solved a minor issue. Ideally placed for Formby village, train station, Red Squirrel Reserve, and beach. Close to all the attractions at Southport including the must see, classic Victorian Wayfarers Arcade and The Atkinson Gallery and Museum. The internationaly reknowned golf courses and Aintree racecourse. Anthony Gormley's Another Place at Crosby is 8 miles away. Liverpool accessed via the local train station. Paul will be trying to organise a "welcome pack". That will help with understanding underfloor heating which we left alone. Check in/check out times not listed.
