Guest Reviews
- Nina (10/5): Just paradise. - Jan and Daz were wonderful and they have a beautiful home. Location and gardens are so peaceful. Breakfasts were amazing. Having to leave. Loved it.
- Kevin (10/5): A warm room and warm hearts(hosts). Food served with love. A home away from home !! - Beautiful location. Peaceful and homely atmosphere. Lovely hosts, they made us feel at home. We never felt like a hotel but a home away from home. Room was cosy & warm and the bed was very comfortable. On the whole a very lovely & pleasant stay and we enjoyed the quiet island life. Nothing I can think of.
- Katharina (10/5): - Absolutely gorgeous place, right on the coast. Terrific breakfast, lovely hosts.
- Arnold (10/5): Unieke ervaring! - Wat een prachtige locatie is dit! Een stukje paradijs op aarde. De eigenaars zijn zeer vriendelijk en charmant. Door hun houding voel je je ook direct thuis! Super ontbijt! Helemaal niets!
- Katrin (10/5): Tonic for your soul! - I mean, where do you even start... The location, the B&B itself, the wonderful hosts, the delicious breakfasts... It was such an incredibly wholesome stay, leaving you undoubtedly wanting more. I would highly recommend staying at Garragh Mhor. Everything was fantastic, and Jan and Daz welcomed with such warmth and kindness! Will definitely return! :-) There was nothing to take away from the experience. While the weather was a bit wild, the cosiness of the B&B, great company, and the scenery around you, along with good waterproofs, will make you hardly notice any bad weather!
- Stewart (9/5): Very pleasant - Interestingly different breakfasts which were very nice.
Lovely location, friendly hosts, peace and quiet. N/A
- John (10/5): If you want peace and quiet and get treated special this is the place to be. Two very nice people. - Breakfast was outstanding. Hosts were very nice Nothing
- John (10/5): A remote and tranquil but easily accessed pleasure. - I hadn't read enough beforehand so my expectation was veggie options at Breakfast not that, in fact, there are no non-veggie dishes. I'm happy to report that this was not a problem .. I chose something different on each of our 3 days .. because the written descriptions were such that I wanted to try them all. Everything lived up to their "stories" .. I'll limit my f comments to just 3 .. Overnight Soaked Oats .. superb .. I'm a convert and have started doing them at home ; Mushroom Omelette .. WOW .. I disabled my hob a year ago so will have to wait until next Garragh Mhor stay ; Scrambled Eggs .. I am constantly trying to perfect these but will never achieve this standard .. I'll be spying on the process next time. And, a special mention (never thought I'd hear myself say this) to veggie sausages which were lovely. The location and immediately surrounding environment are beautiful .. and, any argument that easy access to Seil diminishes its sense of "islandness" falls on stony (or slatey) ground. We have visited 65 of Scotland's 72 inhabited islands and, with only a very few debatable exceptions, Seil feels no less unique and separated. Garragh Mhor feels homely but in a comfy and modernly appointed way. Everything works as required .. rooms are bright and airy and my bed was perfect .. I know this can't always be so, but very much like my own. AND, if it is convenient power points you are after .. Garragh Mhor has them in abundance .. and, wifi was flawless. Back on location .. no need to travel far for great food .. it doesn't get much better than Oyster Bar, 5 minutes walk from Garragh Mhor, and The Puffer, on Easdale .. at the end of an "arduous" (3 minute) Transatlantic journey with helpful and chatty ferrymen. Finally .. our hosts? .. Janette and Darren .. charming and welcoming and hugely knowledgeable on health, wellbeing and healthy eating .. Stay too short .. if I'd known what we were in for .. would have booked in for twice as long
- Brenda (10/5): A wonderful relaxing stay. - Garragh Mhor is a wonderful find on Easdale opposite Seil Island. My room and en-suite were very cosy and the bed was very comfortable. The whole place is quirkily stylish, the vegetarian breakfast was huge and delicious.
No TVs and a thoroughly relaxing stay.
The hosts were delightful and full of local information.
I can thoroughly recommend a stay here. Thank you. Nothing!

- Andy (10/5): Ellenabeich - Fantastic B&B, nice breakfast comfy room spotlessly clean, very friendly owners would definitely return
- David (10/5): - Jan and Daz were amazing hosts .Food was superb accommodation was really welcoming and cosy .All our needs were met .It was our first time in that area, and we will definitely be back .To anyone reading this, go and stay here and enjoy the great energy that both these people have worked hard to create .It's a Haven ! And only 3 hours from Glasow ! Having to come home :(
- Sarah (10/5): A great place for really getting away from it all. - This is a little piece of heaven! If you’re looking for peace and beauty you will find it here. Fabulous hosts, lovely property, clean and comfortable room. You must try Daz’s overnight oats. Book a boat trip from the harbour - you won’t be disappointed. Be aware that there are limited eating options.

- Annie (10/5): Excellent. Beautiful. Peaceful. Friendly. Welcoming. - Breakfast was an experience. A full vegetarian breakfast is available, but my favourite was a delicious dish of pancakes, berries and coconut yoghurt. Nothing.
- Candace (8/5): Delightful stay in an interesting area. - Lovely cozy interesting cottage with a fascinating garden in a great location to explore the unusual history of the area
- Michele (10/5): The photo I shared for room was the view from the back window in our room. If you zoom in you can see one of the sheep. - The location could not have been more beautiful. The gardens were a great place to sit and read/knit, with birds, bees, bunnies, and a cat all stopping by to say hello and with sheep bleating in the background. The hosts were lovely and made us very good breakfasts.

- Brix (9/5): Superb - Great accommodation with very friendly owners. We would love to come back.
- Kathy (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was incredible even though we had not expected only vegetarian options. It was plentiful, fresh and expertly displayed and served.
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Elliott (10/5): Such an interesting location to visit - Brilliant Breakfast, Wonderful helpful hosts Nothing
- Jonathan (8/5): Relaxed, pleasant, would return. - Friendly couple.
Excellent and interesting breakfasts We didn't spot the signage to turn left at the fork (with the bee n bee sign) as it was different from the earlier sign that had the name, and the written directions hadn't tipped us off to bear left at that fork. So we drove up the more obvious right fork. You could adjust both of those.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent selection for breakfast. Interesting locality. Great hosts
- C (8/5): Very relaxing peaceful stay - Excellent location
Welcoming, friendly, helpful hosts
- Laura (10/5): A lovely relaxed stay and came away feeling healthy and refreshed - The property and location was beautiful, food was delicious and a good selection x Only thing we could say would be that it would have been nice to have the option of a tv.

- Joe (10/5): Wonderful find - Idyllic location, wonderful owners, nothing was too much trouble. Without doubt a highlight of our tour of Scotland Nothing to dislike
- Paul (10/5): We really enjoyed every aspect of our stay and will be recommending it to anyone heading for Oban - Wonderful hosts running a very characterful B&B in very peaceful rural surroundings. Despite their sassenach origins, Jan and Daz are very knowledgeable about the area, its history, and what it offers to visitors like us. They were beyond helpful - and served us great vegan breakfasts! It rains a lot, but that probably goes with the territory...!
- Ste (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Uplifting - Astonishing.Breakfast .Very interesting and lovely hosts. NA
- A (10/5): Loved it all & would be happy to recommend to anyone interested in travelling to UK - Breakfast was vegetarian but delicious considering we are not used to vegetarian. Tried some new things never had before & all tasty.
Local pubs had delicious food as well. We tried 2 different places whilst there for our 2 nights stay.
Hosts were lovely, friendly & helpful Roads were sometimes a bit scary particularly if all of a sudden a car was coming from opposite direction. But we managed & overall had a fantastic & relaxing stay . No complaints
- Sandra (10/5): A warm welcome with great breakfasts. A great base for exploring Seil and nearby islands. - A warm welcome.

- Dee (10/5): We Found Heaven at Gorragh Mhor. - Jan and Daz are the best people we have met from all the places we've been, what gems these two are. Their place is amazing, in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful with a serene pond full of tadpoles at the edges where we could sit and relax on the many little seats that were hidden along the pathways. It's like a mystery tour finding all these hidden seating areas. Midges make a beeline for me always so be sure to take some protection from them if you're like me. The flowers were blooming giving the massive bees plenty to feed on, the constant sound of buzzing was relaxing. Our room was to the front of the house giving excellent views of the pond/garden, the bed was so comfortable and the room spotless and the lack of tv was just what was needed to rest our minds from the everyday worries of the world, you can truly get lost in this place. The view of the mountain behind the house was fab. Jan does holistic treatments so get one booked and Daz makes the most amazing doorknockers ha, ask to be shown them. There are stones with written messages on them that are placed on the wall beside the front door, absolutely brilliant to see what other guests have thought about their own experiences there. Breakfast is varied and Jan's super porridge is the best, I loved it. There's a small village 10 minutes walk from the house, unfortunately, we didn't get there but will in the future, as our time was filled with a boat trip on the Waverly at Oban which is about 20 minutes away. I'm so pleased I found their place, you can literally find your soul here, it's truly heavenly. We are defo going back to conquer the mountain and check out the views from the top soon.
The views on the drive there once you come off the main roads are breathtaking, plenty of photo opportunities along the way, just be aware of where you stop though as the roads are narrow at some points. There is absolutely nothing not to like here, the place is amazing, and we are going back again no doubt. Be careful of the winding country roads, just take your time. You'll pass a little pub with a crazy bridge that has the maddest bow at the top where you can't see the road but the bridge is literally 20 feet long so don't panic.
